IB & IGCSE in Mundi

Studying an international syllabus from a Nimar tehsil town

Mundi, which is also written Moondi, lies in Khandwa district in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh. It became a tehsil headquarters in 2021 after a long local campaign, and it sits roughly thirty kilometres from Khandwa and about a hundred and twenty from Indore. The Indira Sagar reservoir on the Narmada, the Hanuwantiya water-sports complex and the pilgrim temples around Omkareshwar give the area unusual visitors for an agricultural belt.

Parents here who search for IB and IGCSE tutors in Mundi are generally planning something beyond the tehsil: a move to Indore or Bhopal, a posting for a government or power-sector job, a child's study in another country, or an older cousin's experience of an international school. We could not confirm any IB or IGCSE school in Mundi itself. Local schooling follows the Madhya Pradesh Board and CBSE, with a mix of government and private institutions.

Our approach for Mundi is therefore online. A tutor does not arrive at the door; home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. A student sits in the house with a laptop, a notebook and a decent connection, and a specialist in the exact subject teaches over video using a shared whiteboard and live past papers.

We have no affiliation with schools in Nimar, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson, and tutors will not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework for any student. What you get is explanation, practice and honest marking, with fees agreed in advance.

At a glance

  • IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, with Maths and the sciences leading demand
  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE at every tier
  • Live, one-to-one video on Indian time, with a steady tutor
  • First lesson free, then a written note after each class
  • Online only in Mundi; home visits are limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Mundi school years

In a tehsil town like Mundi, the programme a family asks about follows from the child's next step rather than from a local school. The sections below describe each stage and what a tutor adds.

PYPAges 3-12, nursery to Class 6

IB Primary Years Programme

Instead of subject periods, a class investigates themes such as how we organise ourselves or where we are in place and time, then presents a final Exhibition. Without exams, preparation means reading widely, handling numbers comfortably and describing an idea in simple English.

In Mundi the PYP question usually comes from parents of a child heading for an English-medium school in Indore, who want spoken English to be natural before the first term.

MYPAges 11-16, Class 6 to 10

IB Middle Years Programme

Teachers grade each subject on four criteria and set interdisciplinary units, ending with a Personal Project. The skills tested include planning, research, critical thinking and reflecting on how work was done.

A Hindi-medium child from a Nimar school entering MYP finds open-ended science and humanities tasks the hardest part, so tuition starts with written explanation and short investigations.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Students take six subjects, three at Higher Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. External papers in May count for most of each grade, with Internal Assessment adding the rest.

Mundi students on the Diploma are generally boarders or enrolled online. Tuition tackles the toughest courses, mostly Maths, Physics and Chemistry, in the holiday weeks at home and through the term.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

A chosen set of Diploma courses is paired with a career-related study and a personal and professional skills component. Its academic courses are assessed to the usual Diploma standard.

CP demand from Khandwa district is very small. Where it appears, it is support for one academic course while the student is back home.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Rather than offering a generic IB tutor, we match on course and level. The first message from a Mundi parent should state the subject, whether it is HL or SL, and the exam month, so that the right person is found.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Functions, calculus and proof for students bound for engineering or sciences; HL adds the demanding Paper 3 investigation.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and technology, suited to commerce, social science and design routes.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, waves and electricity, with the internal investigation planned around equipment a school lab really has.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Atomic structure, stoichiometry and energetics, then organic reactions at HL.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Cell biology, genetics and ecology with exact vocabulary, plus data questions.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagram skills linked to real data, such as crop prices and minimum support prices in a farming district.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Case study analysis and quantitative tools, with an internal assessment on a real enterprise.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Unseen text commentary, comparative essays and an oral, a big step for students from Hindi-medium schools.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Problem solving, databases and object-oriented programming, with a documented internal solution.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Approaches to behaviour, key studies and a simple internal experiment.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Water, energy and land-use systems, a good fit for students from a dam-and-farming region.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Resources, urban change and hazards, with fieldwork that can be repeated.

IB History

HL / SL

Source evaluation and essay planning across modern history topics.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Reading, writing and speaking practice, which is easier for Hindi-speaking households but still needs structure for the oral.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Discussion coaching for the exhibition and essay, with the student's own thinking leading.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Mundi school timetables

Mundi has one delivery mode, a live video lesson, applied in three ways: ongoing weekly teaching, a bridge before a move to Indore or another city, and exam-season revision.

Ongoing weekly lessons

A single weekly hour, sometimes two, with one tutor using a whiteboard and papers on screen. It is the plain form of private tuition at home without a trip to Khandwa.

  • Same tutor for continuity
  • Evening slots outside farm and shop hours
  • Parents receive a written note
  • Recorded sessions on request

Bridge before moving schools

A family expecting to enrol at an Indore or Bhopal school uses two to six months of tuition to raise English, Maths and Science to the new school's pace.

  • A diagnostic first lesson
  • Practice using the target school's style of papers
  • Spoken English work
  • Checking of entrance test readiness

Exam-season revision

Short, frequent lessons in the six weeks before May or November series, with timed papers, quick marking and weak-topic clinics, scheduled around the local calendar.

  • Mock papers marked to grade boundaries
  • Topic clinics on weaker areas
  • A backup plan for power and signal cuts
  • Rest days before each paper

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Mundi

01

Is there IB or IGCSE schooling in Mundi?

  • Local schools are Madhya Pradesh Board or CBSE
  • The nearest listed IB option is in Indore
  • Tuition lets a child prepare before committing to a move
  • Early preparation is usually cheaper than later catch-up

Not that we can confirm. Mundi has government schools, private English-medium and Hindi-medium schools and some CBSE affiliates, but no IB World School or Cambridge centre that we could find in the town or the wider Khandwa district. The nearest listed international option is Choithram International in Indore, a long way for a daily commute.

So the demand arrives from families with a plan. Some have a relative abroad or in the Gulf and see the IB as a stepping stone. Others work at the power plant, the dam or in government service and expect a transfer to a city. A smaller group of farming and trading families want a stronger English foundation for children who may join the business later or study abroad.

For each, the decision is whether the child should switch to an international syllabus, and when. Starting early is cheaper. A child in Class 6 to 8 can spend a year on English and reasoning skills and later find the move easier. A child in Class 10 who wants to join an IB Diploma in Indore needs concentrated preparation in Maths, Science and English for at least two terms.

A free trial lesson lets you see how the child responds before spending anything. Some students love open questions; others realise that the state syllabus fits them better, and that is useful to know.

02

Madhya Pradesh Board, CBSE, IB and IGCSE: how do they differ for a Mundi student?

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education runs its Class 10 and 12 examinations in February and March, in Hindi or English medium, using state textbooks. CBSE follows NCERT and a national calendar. IB and IGCSE are English-medium international qualifications. The IB Diploma combines six subjects with a core of essay, knowledge and service, and IGCSE is a subject-by-subject qualification that usually ends at Class 10.

Mundi students from state schools usually have strong factual knowledge, particularly in Maths and science formulae. What changes is how answers are rewarded. An IB marker gives marks for explanation, for evaluating evidence and for using terms precisely. A student who writes the correct final answer without method may lose most of the marks.

Language is the second change. Many Nimar students speak Hindi or Nimadi at home and learn English mostly from textbooks. Spoken fluency and fast reading of English sources are the habits we build first.

The table lays out the four systems from a Mundi family's point of view.

03

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Mundi, and what moves the quote?

  • Course level and rarity of the tutor's specialism
  • Weekly lesson count
  • Number of subjects
  • Bridge or full-year plan
  • No travel or hostel cost

We do not print a price table, because it would be wrong for most people. Instead, you receive a written quote before you commit, and the first lesson is free. This section explains what pushes the figure up or down so that you can judge it.

The biggest factor is the level and rarity of the course. Higher Level Physics or Extended Maths asks for a more specialised tutor than PYP reading support. After that comes the weekly count of lessons, and then the number of subjects. A Diploma student taking Maths, Chemistry and English will have three different tutors.

Time horizon matters. A two-month bridge before moving to Indore is a different commitment from two years of weekly help. We usually recommend a modest regular schedule instead of crammed sessions, since the learning stays better and the monthly cost is easier to plan.

There is no travel line in the bill. Mundi families who have paid for hostel rooms and coaching fees in Indore will see the contrast. If you would like an estimate, message +91 7439 368 115.

04

Online tuition, Indore coaching, a local tutor or self-study: which works from Mundi?

Indore is Madhya Pradesh's coaching capital, with big centres for JEE, NEET and CUET, and some tutors who handle IB and IGCSE. For a Mundi student the catch is distance. A hundred and twenty kilometres each way rules out a weekly class, and moving the child to a hostel in Indore is a major decision with large costs.

A local tutor in Mundi or Khandwa is affordable and convenient, though rarely trained on IB or Cambridge papers. For primary-years help in English and Maths it is perfectly adequate.

Online tuition at home gives access to specialists. It needs a laptop, a quiet space and reliable internet. In Nimar, power cuts happen during storms and in peak summer, so the plan includes a backup device and a flexible schedule.

Self-study using free past papers works as a supplement, especially for Maths. What it cannot provide is feedback on why a mark was lost. We encourage students to practise alone and then bring problems to the tutor.

How do Gangaur, the Nimar summer and the monsoon shape the study year?

Nimar has a hot, dry climate. April, May and early June regularly pass forty degrees, and afternoons are best spent indoors. Many families shift study to early morning or after dusk during those months. The monsoon arrives in mid-June, with heavy spells in July and August that can affect roads to Khandwa and cause power cuts.

Festivals add their own rhythm. Gangaur, the spring festival of Nimar, is celebrated across the region with processions and family gatherings, and students often take a few days off. Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali follow in autumn, and Ganesh Chaturthi and Anant Chaturdashi in September. Pilgrim seasons at Omkareshwar bring heavy traffic and extra work for local families.

The farm calendar also matters. Kharif sowing in June and July, and soybean and cotton harvests in October and November, pull many households into the fields, and children are expected to help. We schedule lessons around those peaks where we can.

Exam sessions overlay all of this. The IB Diploma sits in May and November, Cambridge IGCSE in May-June and October-November, Edexcel in January and May-June. The table puts the two calendars together.

06

Where can an IB or IGCSE student from Mundi study after school?

  • Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, IIT Indore, IIM Indore
  • CUET-UG and AIU equivalence for IB Diploma holders
  • JEE Main and NEET-UG: check current eligibility
  • Overseas study via IB or IGCSE plus A Level

Within Madhya Pradesh, Indore offers Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, IIT Indore and IIM Indore, and Bhopal has its own universities and institutes. IB Diploma holders can use Association of Indian Universities equivalence for admission to many Indian universities, and CUET-UG scores can open central university seats. Rules and cut-offs change, so check each institution's current requirements.

For engineering and medicine, JEE Main and NEET-UG have their own eligibility conditions regarding subjects and board recognition, and state counselling in Madhya Pradesh applies domicile and board rules. IB students taking Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology can often apply, but the family must verify this each year.

Overseas options are the draw for many: the UK, Canada, Australia, the US, Singapore and parts of Europe, where the IB Diploma and IGCSE-then-A-Level routes are widely understood. English tests and, for the US, SAT or ACT are often part of the plan. We coach the academic subjects and refer families to the admissions test preparation page, but we do not handle university applications.

A practical note: choose subjects at Class 11 with the destination in mind. Maths AA HL with Physics suits engineering, Biology and Chemistry suit medicine and life sciences, and Economics with Business suits commerce and management.

07

How are IB Maths and the sciences taught over video to a student in a small town?

Maths is where many small-town students shine, because they have practised thousands of problems. The shift is to justification, modelling and technology. In Analysis and Approaches, a tutor trains the student to write each line of reasoning; in Applications and Interpretation, to choose a model, run a graphic calculator and interpret the result in words.

The shared whiteboard is central. The student works a problem while the tutor watches, intervening at the exact step where confusion starts. After the lesson, a handful of exam-style questions are set, marked and returned with comments before the next session.

In Physics, Chemistry and Biology, theory papers reward precise language and data interpretation. A school without a rich lab does not stop a student scoring well on Papers 1 to 3. For the Internal Assessment, the tutor discusses the research question, method and uncertainty, but the experiment and report belong to the student.

If a lesson is cut by a power failure, we reschedule within the week. Students are encouraged to keep notes in a dedicated notebook, since a visible record of method is a habit examiners reward.

08

IGCSE tiers and exam entry for students in Khandwa district

Most Cambridge IGCSE subjects have Core and Extended papers, and Edexcel has Foundation and Higher. The lower tier limits the top grade available. A student who plans to take IB Diploma or A Level Maths and sciences should be on the upper tier, since later courses assume that content.

A common package includes English, Maths, a science set, a second language such as Hindi, and an elective like Economics or Computer Science. Students from Hindi-speaking homes often take English as a Second Language, while those with stronger English may choose First Language.

Private candidates need an authorised centre, usually in Indore, Bhopal or another city, and deadlines fall months before each series. Fees go to the centre. We help with timelines and preparation, while registration is handled by the centre.

A good move for the ambitious is Additional Mathematics, which introduces calculus early. It is optional but eases the jump to IB Maths AA. We can add it alongside standard Maths if the child has the capacity.

Where we tutor

Mundi and Khandwa district places our online tutors work with

Online lessons do not depend on the neighbourhood, but local context shapes the plan: when a family is free, how far the nearest big school is, and what work the household does.

Mundi town and main bazaar

The commercial centre of the new tehsil, with traders, government employees and teachers; families here often look at Indore for their children's next school.

Kherkhali riverside

The northern edge of town along the Kherkhali river, with older housing and farmland close by.

Hanuwantiya

A tourism complex on the Indira Sagar reservoir with water sports and a festival, bringing seasonal work and visitors to the area.

Punasa and Indira Sagar

The dam area on the Narmada, with project and power-sector households whose postings can change.

Datana and the thermal power plant belt

Home to staff of the Sant Singaji power plant, a group with transferable jobs and an interest in English-medium schooling.

Khandwa

The district headquarters, around thirty kilometres away, with the largest set of schools, coaching centres and a major railway junction.

Pandhana and Harsud

Neighbouring towns in Khandwa district, linked to Mundi by road, with smaller markets and agricultural families.

Omkareshwar

A Jyotirlinga pilgrim town on the Narmada; families here earn from pilgrim services and are used to busy festival seasons.

Khalwa and Chhaigaon Makhan

Rural blocks in the district, where online tutoring avoids long journeys for school-age children.

Indore

The nearest big city, around 120 km away, a hub for coaching, universities, IIT Indore and IIM Indore, and the destination for many ambitious families.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Mundi

Mundi and Khandwa district

Schools in the tehsil and district follow the Madhya Pradesh Board or CBSE. We could not confirm an IB or IGCSE school locally, so students pair their regular schooling with online tuition.

    Nearby: Indore

About 120 km away, Indore is the usual destination for families wanting an international school, and a listed IB and IGCSE school operates there.

    • Choithram International, Indore

    Nearby: Bhopal

The state capital, roughly 225 km away, also has a listed IB and IGCSE school, but is too far for a daily commute and would involve boarding or relocation.

    • Eastern Public School, Bhopal

We could not confirm an IB or IGCSE school in Mundi or Khandwa district, so no local school is named. The Indore and Bhopal schools below come from published school listings and are included only to show where nearby classroom options lie. None has any tie with IB Gram, and a school appearing here is not an endorsement.

    How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

    1. 01

      Send the basics

Share class, board, subjects and exam month by WhatsApp or email; a photo of a recent paper helps.

    2. 02

      Try a free lesson

A short live session with a likely tutor, at an hour that avoids shop, farm and power-cut peaks.

    3. 03

      Read the plan and quote

A topic plan and a written rate come before any decision.

    4. 04

      Begin weekly lessons

One-to-one video sessions with marked homework and a written summary afterwards.

    5. 05

      Review and adjust

Every few weeks we check progress and change the tutor or the pace if needed.

    Why families choose us

What Mundi parents tell us matters most

    Course-level matching

A tutor is chosen for the specific board, code and level, not for a loose reputation.

    Planned around Nimar life

Farm weeks, festivals, heat and power cuts are built into the schedule.

    Plain about what we do

Online only in Mundi, no home visits, no guarantees and no pretence of a local IB school.

    No ghost-writing

Tutors guide and mark, but never write any assessed work.

    Reports in writing

A short note follows every lesson.

    Tutor swaps are easy

A poor fit is fixed by changing the tutor, not by waiting.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Mundi: your questions answered

Are there IB tutors available in Mundi?+

Yes, online. IB tutors teach live over video, so a student in Mundi studies at home with a specialist based in another Indian city. Tutors do not visit homes here, since in-person tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Your first lesson is free.

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in Mundi?+

We could not confirm one. Schools in Mundi and Khandwa district follow the Madhya Pradesh Board or CBSE. The nearest listed IB and IGCSE option is Choithram International in Indore, around 120 km away. Check any school's current status with the IB or Cambridge before applying.

Do you provide IGCSE home tuition in Mundi?+

As online home tuition, yes. The student studies in their own home and the tutor teaches over video. No tutor travels to Mundi; in-person lessons exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. We cover Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE in the main subjects.

What is the fee for IB tuition in Mundi?+

There is no public fee list. The quote depends on the level, subject count, lessons per week and duration, and you receive it in writing before booking. The trial lesson is free. With online delivery, there is no travel charge or hostel cost.

Can a Hindi-medium student join IB or IGCSE?+

Often yes after a bridge period. Hindi-medium students usually have strong subject knowledge. The adjustment is scientific English and extended answers. We begin with reading, vocabulary and short written explanations, and a trial lesson shows how much support is needed.

Will online lessons work with power cuts in Nimar?+

Generally, with preparation. Pick a slot with the steadiest supply, keep a charged phone for a hotspot and tell the tutor if the lesson drops. Missed lessons are rescheduled within the week where possible. A laptop and ordinary broadband are enough.

Which IB subjects do Khandwa families ask for?+

Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology lead, since many aim at engineering or medicine. Economics and Business Management follow, with English A and Hindi B support. Some students also ask for help with the Extended Essay structure and TOK discussions.

Can the tutor complete the Internal Assessment for my child?+

No. Tutors do not write, rewrite or edit any assessed work such as an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework. They discuss method, explain criteria and respond to the student's own ideas. This keeps within the IB's academic integrity rules.

When do IB and IGCSE exams take place?+

The IB Diploma is sat in May at most Indian schools, with a smaller November session. Cambridge IGCSE runs in May-June and October-November, and Edexcel in January and May-June. Your school or exam centre confirms the dates.

Is the IB Diploma recognised in India?+

Generally yes. The Association of Indian Universities issues equivalence, and central universities admit through CUET-UG. Specific courses and state counselling have their own rules, so check with each institution before selecting subjects.

Can an IB student take JEE Main or NEET?+

Frequently yes, subject to the testing agency's current conditions on subjects and board recognition. State counselling in Madhya Pradesh has separate domicile rules. Confirm eligibility every year, well before applications open.

    How can I start a trial lesson?+

Message +91 7439 368 115 on WhatsApp or email support@ibgram.com with class, board, subject and evening availability. We suggest a tutor and a time. After the lesson you receive a written plan and quote, and you are free to stop.

What if my child does not like the tutor?+

Tell us and we will arrange another tutor, usually within days and with no penalty. Personal fit is important, particularly for students shifting from Hindi-medium teaching to a new style.

Is IB Gram part of any school or exam board?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tuition service, unconnected to any school in Khandwa district, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson. School names on this page give context only, and we do not promise grades or admission.

Are PYP and MYP students taught as well?+

Yes. Younger students get shorter sessions with visuals and interaction, often with a parent close by. PYP lessons may be thirty to forty minutes, MYP lessons an hour, focusing on writing, reasoning and projects.

Should we move to Indore for the IB?+

That depends on the child and the family. Online tuition lets you test the style first, and a few months of preparation makes any later move smoother. If you do move, tuition can continue or taper as the new school settles.
