IB & IGCSE Home Tutors in Vikhroli, Mumbai

If you want an IB and IGCSE home tutor in Vikhroli, the useful thing about this address is that it is station-adjacent: the Godrej township sits beside Vikhroli station and the Eastern Express Highway, so a tutor steps off the Central Line and walks in. That changes who will hold a weekday evening slot for a whole term.

How IB Gram matches an IB and IGCSE home tutor in Vikhroli

A request for all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes in Vikhroli arrives with three or four facts attached, and those facts do more work than any amount of browsing: the board, the year group, the subjects that are actually going wrong, and the evenings your child is free. A parent in the Godrej township who writes DP1, Chemistry and Maths AA SL, Tuesday and Friday after seven is describing a short, findable list. A parent who writes that their son needs help gets a long one, and a long list is how families end up on a third tutor by November.

The first filter is geography, and in Vikhroli it is unusually kind. Because the township entrance sits a short walk from Vikhroli station on the Central Line, the pool is not limited to people who already live within a kilometre of your building. A subject specialist in Ghatkopar East, Kanjurmarg, Bhandup or Mulund can reach the gate by train and be upstairs a few minutes after the platform. Powai, a short distance inland, is the contrasting case: it has no station of its own, so every lesson there begins with a road leg. Vikhroli needs no road leg at all, and that is the single most useful fact about tutoring at this address.

The second filter is the component your child is sitting, not the subject label on the report card. IGCSE Economics 0455 and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) Economics look adjacent on a timetable and ask for completely different writing. A tutor who has marked one and only read about the other is found out inside a fortnight. So the shortlist is built against the paper, the criteria and the internal assessment sitting in front of your child this term, and you are told which of those each shortlisted tutor has actually taught, in which board session.

Then you meet one. A first session is a diagnostic, not a sales call: the tutor works through recent marked work, asks your child to attempt one question cold, and says at the end what they think is wrong. If that reading matches what the school has been telling you, the slot becomes weekly home tuition. If it does not, say so and the next name comes. Nothing is locked in before the trial, and no one should ask you to commit to a term in advance.

  • 1. Send the board, year group, subjects and the two evenings that work
  • 2. We shortlist tutors who can reach Vikhroli station on the Central Line
  • 3. You see each tutor's board experience and the components they have taught
  • 4. Book one trial session at home, in your own study space
  • 5. Confirm the weekly slot, or ask for the next name on the list

Which programmes and boards Vikhroli families are actually choosing between

Families here sit across four pathways, and a home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects anywhere in Mumbai has to know which one is in play before talking about method. The International Baccalaureate (IB) runs as the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in the early years, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) through middle school, and the Diploma Programme (DP) in the final two. IGCSE sits alongside it, offered by Cambridge International Education or by Pearson Edexcel depending on the school, usually as a two-year block across Years 10 and 11. A few students leave Year 11 for AS and A Level instead of the DP. These are not interchangeable labels: they decide what is assessed, by whom, and how much of the final grade is already banked before the exam hall opens.

PYP and early MYP requests are rarely about content. They are about a child who reads fluently but cannot structure a paragraph, or who can do the arithmetic and freezes at a word problem. MYP assessment runs on criteria rather than a mark out of a hundred, so a parent reading a report sees Criterion A at 5 and Criterion D at 3 and has no idea what to do next. A tutor who works the MYP properly treats those four criteria as four separate trainable skills and goes after the weak one, which is most often D: reflecting, evaluating and applying to an unfamiliar context.

The DP is where structure starts to bite. Six subjects, three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL), plus Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service. Each subject carries an Internal Assessment (IA) marked in school and moderated externally, and that coursework is worth a serious slice of the final grade before a single paper is opened. A DP1 student who pushes every IA into DP2 has chosen, without meaning to, to sit the hardest term of school twice.

IGCSE carries a structural trap of its own: tiering. Several subjects are entered at Core or Extended, and that choice sets the grade ceiling, not merely the difficulty. A student entered at Core cannot be awarded the top grades however well the paper goes. Schools across the Central Suburbs of Mumbai make those entry decisions in Year 10 or early Year 11, which is precisely when a parent should be asking a subject specialist whether the entry is right, rather than three weeks before the exam when nothing can be changed.

  • PYP and early MYP: structure and confidence, not syllabus coverage
  • MYP: four criteria read as four separate trainable skills
  • DP: six subjects at HL and SL, plus TOK, the EE and CAS
  • IGCSE: Core or Extended entry sets the grade ceiling
  • AS and A Level: a different route out of Year 11 for some students

Subject choice, HL and SL, Core and Extended: what the paperwork commits you to

Subject choice is the decision parents most often make on intuition and most often regret. At Higher Level an IB subject adds content, but the real addition is question types: longer data response, more synthesis, and in the sciences an extra paper. Standard Level is not HL made easier; it is a different syllabus with its own exclusions. A DP1 student who takes three sciences at HL because medicine is a possibility, and then finds two of those internal assessments due in the same fortnight as the TOK essay, has made a scheduling decision rather than an ambitious one. That is fixable in June and almost unfixable in January.

At IGCSE the equivalent decision is Core or Extended, and it is made inside school. Extended papers carry the harder questions and the full grade range; Core papers cap what can be awarded. The honest conversation is whether a student entered at Core is there because of ability or because of one bad year, and whether a term of focused home tuition before the entry deadline changes the answer. Across Mumbai IGCSE cohorts this is the most common avoidable loss of grades, because once the entry is submitted no tutor on earth can move it.

Take one component to see what tutoring actually does. IGCSE Economics 0455 Paper 2 ends each structured question with an eight-mark part, and the command word is usually discuss. A student who has revised properly writes a clean definition of a minimum price, draws the diagram, explains the surplus, and stops. The mark scheme has already paid for the definition and the diagram in the earlier parts; the eight-mark part is paying for two sides and a judgement that follows from the diagram rather than from the student's opinion. A tutor who has marked that paper will set the same question three weeks running and attack nothing but the last two sentences. That is the gap between knowing economics and converting it into marks, and it is not a gap a parent can close at the kitchen table.

Internal assessment is where tutoring earns its keep on both boards, because it is the part of the grade the student controls. The IA, the Extended Essay and the TOK essay are drafted, fed back on once by the school, and redrafted. IGCSE coursework components are narrower and work the same way. A tutor's job on a draft is never to write it, which would end the candidature; it is to make the student read their own criterion descriptors aloud and say which sentence earns which mark. Students who can do that stop needing the tutor for the next one.

  • HL adds question types and papers, not simply more content
  • SL is a separate syllabus, not a lighter version of HL
  • Core and Extended entry at IGCSE sets the grade ceiling
  • Command words carry the marks: analyse, discuss, evaluate, justify
  • IA, EE and TOK drafts are coached, never written for the student

Why Vikhroli is the easiest Central Suburbs address for a tutor arriving by train

Vikhroli sits on the Central Line between Ghatkopar East to the south and Kanjurmarg to the north, in the eastern belt of the Central Suburbs of Mumbai, Maharashtra. Two roads run north to south through it: LBS Marg on the west side of the tracks and the Eastern Express Highway on the east, which is how anyone arriving by car comes in from Chembur, Bhandup or Thane. The Godrej Vikhroli township occupies the green, low-density land east of the station, and its residential addresses, Godrej Platinum among them, generate most of the tutoring requests from this pin code.

What makes this address easy is the last few hundred metres. A tutor coming from Mulund, Kanjurmarg or Ghatkopar East gets off at Vikhroli station and walks to the township gate: no auto hunt, no highway crossing, no traffic variable at the end of the trip. That matters more than total distance, because the part of a Mumbai commute that breaks a weekly slot is almost never the train, it is the ten unpredictable minutes after it. Searches like IB and IGCSE tutors near me in Vikhroli quietly assume the tutor must live next door. Here they do not need to, because the station does the work.

Each neighbour changes the pool slightly. Kanjurmarg, one stop north, shares the same station-first logic and is close enough that a tutor can hold slots in both places on one evening. Ghatkopar East, one stop south, is where the Central Line meets Metro Line 1, so tutors living there have the widest set of onward options and tend to be the most flexible about start times. Powai, inland off JVLR, is the opposite case: reachable only by road, which is why a tutor offered the same hour in both places will usually take the Vikhroli one.

For families driving, the Eastern Express Highway and the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road matter in the other direction: they are how your child reaches a campus in Powai, Chembur or Bandra Kurla Complex in the morning, which sets how tired they are at seven in the evening. A student who leaves at half past six for a Powai school should not be given a six o'clock lesson. The honest slot is later, or a weekend morning, and a tutor who has worked this corridor for a few years will say so before you ask.

  • Vikhroli station on the Central Line, a short walk from the township gate
  • LBS Marg west of the tracks, the Eastern Express Highway east
  • Kanjurmarg one stop north, same station-first logic
  • Ghatkopar East one stop south, where the Central Line meets Metro Line 1
  • Powai inland off JVLR, reachable by road only
  • Godrej Platinum and the wider Godrej township east of the station

What does the school calendar at Hiranandani Foundation School and NES International School mean for timing?

It means the hard months are predictable, so a tutor can be booked ahead of them instead of during them. Children from Vikhroli largely attend Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai or NES International School, and both run the Mumbai academic year: a June start, internal assessment through the winter, and external IB and IGCSE papers in April and May.

The shape of that year is worth knowing before you book anyone. June and July are quiet, and they are the best weeks of the year to repair a weak foundation, which is also why almost nobody calls then. From late September the first real internal assessments land and the DP1 cohort meets its first IA proposals. November and December bring mock exams and Extended Essay first drafts at once. January and February are the heaviest stretch of the DP calendar: final IAs, the TOK essay, and mocks coming back remarked. By March a DP2 student is revising, and a tutor hired in March is doing damage control rather than teaching.

Both schools set internal deadlines inside the board windows, and those internal dates are what actually govern your evenings. A Hiranandani Foundation School student and an NES International School student in the same DP cohort can have IA deadlines a fortnight apart. Ask your school for its assessment calendar in June, photograph it, and hand it to the tutor in session one. Half the value of a good home tutor in Vikhroli is that they plan backwards from those dates instead of reacting to them in the week they fall.

One thing to be clear about: IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Hiranandani Foundation School, NES International School or any school named on this page. The schools appear here because their calendars set the pressure points, nothing more. The monsoon is the other calendar nobody prints. July and August lose sessions to waterlogging along the Eastern Express Highway and to train delays, so a tutor who lives on the Central Line within a few stops of Vikhroli is far likelier to actually arrive in a heavy week than one crossing the city for the same hour.

  • June and July: the best time to repair a foundation, and the quietest
  • Late September: first internal assessments and DP1 IA proposals land
  • November and December: mocks collide with Extended Essay drafts
  • January and February: final IAs, the TOK essay, remarked mocks
  • July and August: the monsoon costs sessions, and local tutors lose fewest

Home tuition, online or hybrid for a Vikhroli student: which one holds for a full term?

Home tuition holds best here, because the commute that usually kills a weekly slot does not exist. An IB and IGCSE home tutor in Vikhroli can finish a lesson inside the township and be on a Central Line train within minutes, so the same person can keep the same evening for a year without resenting it. Reliability, not preference, is the whole argument for home over online at this address.

Home tuition also does more than arrive. A tutor at your dining table sees what a screen hides: the phone face up beside the notebook, the handwriting that collapses in the last question of a paper, the folder holding three months of unfiled worksheets. They see your child working under mild social pressure, which is nearer to exam conditions than a video call will ever be. The cost is rigidity. A home slot is a fixed hour that cannot slide by twenty minutes, and if the tutor falls ill the lesson is gone rather than moved.

An IB and IGCSE online tutor in Vikhroli earns a place in two specific situations. The first is scarcity: if your child needs HL Economics, Global Politics, Computer Science or a less common language, the right specialist may live in Pune, Bengaluru or abroad, and insisting on home visits means settling for a generalist instead. The second is the week before a paper, when a thirty-minute screen share to fix one question type beats cancelling an hour. Online is weakest with younger children and with any student whose real problem is attention rather than content.

Hybrid is what most Mumbai families drift into without planning it: one lesson at home each week for the teaching, plus short online contacts for marking and draft feedback. It is also the only honest answer for a DP2 student in exam term who needs three contacts a week and cannot host three. Decide it deliberately in session one, agree who sends what after each contact, and you will not be renegotiating it in February with a deadline on top of you.

  • Home tuition: best for consistency, discipline and younger students
  • Online: best for scarce HL subjects and short pre-exam repairs
  • Hybrid: one lesson at home plus online marking and draft feedback
  • A home slot is fixed, so a missed hour is lost rather than moved
  • Online needs a wired desk and a shared room, not a bed and a phone

How is a tutor checked before they walk into your Godrej Platinum flat?

Every tutor is checked on identity, qualification and board experience before a parent sees them, and the first visit is a trial you can end. Before an IB and IGCSE private tutor in Vikhroli is shortlisted, IB Gram verifies government photo identity, the degree claimed, and which boards and components the person has actually taught, then asks for references from families or schools where they taught the same syllabus.

What no platform can check is the thing that decides whether this works: whether your child will talk to this person. That is what the trial is for, and it is why the trial happens in your home with you in the next room. Watch three things. Does the tutor ask to see marked work before describing their own credentials? Do they correct the method or only the answer? Do they tell your child out loud what the mark scheme wanted? Someone who cannot do the third thing is a subject enthusiast rather than an assessment-aware teacher, and the difference shows up in April.

Then there is the practical layer, which in a township like Godrej Platinum is a genuine part of the arrangement. Visitors sign in at the gate, so a tutor arriving every Tuesday at the same hour belongs on your society's expected-visitor list or app rather than being negotiated at security each week. Ten minutes lost at the gate, repeated, becomes a cancelled slot by October. Put the tower name, the wing and the flat number in your first message, and say which gate to use, because the township has more than one entrance and the one nearest Vikhroli station is not always the one nearest your building.

Check a few things yourself, because no verification process replaces a parent's judgement. Ask to see one piece of work the tutor has marked, with their annotations on it. Ask which board set the last paper they taught from, and in which session. Keep the lesson in a shared room with the door open. Pay session by session or month by month at the start, so that leaving costs you a conversation and nothing else.

  • Photo identity and the claimed degree verified before you see a profile
  • Board and component experience recorded, not just subject names
  • References from families or schools teaching the same syllabus
  • Add a weekly tutor to the society visitor list, not the gate queue
  • Keep lessons in a shared room with the door open, and pay as you go

What do IB and IGCSE tuition fees in Vikhroli actually depend on?

Five things set the rate: the board and level, how scarce the subject specialist is, the length and frequency of the session, how far the tutor travels, and when in the year you book. IB Gram quotes per tutor instead of publishing a price list, because an HL Physics specialist supervising an IA and a Year 6 generalist are not the same product, and pretending they cost the same helps nobody.

Board and level move the number most. A DP Higher Level subject with an internal assessment to supervise costs more per hour than MYP support, because the tutor is marking drafts against published criteria between sessions and that work is unpaid time if the rate ignores it. IGCSE sits between the two and PYP sits lowest. Scarcity then multiplies it. Maths and the sciences have a deep pool across the Central Suburbs, while HL Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Visual Arts or a second language at HL may have only a handful of genuinely experienced people in all of Mumbai, and what they are charging for is scarcity, not difficulty.

Travel is the factor Vikhroli families pay least for, and the one place where the station shows up in your wallet. A tutor who walks from Vikhroli station to the township gate spends a fraction of the unpaid travel time the same tutor spends reaching an address off JVLR, and tutors price unpaid travel whether or not they itemise it. Session length and frequency work the same way: two ninety-minute lessons a week usually cost less per hour than one sixty-minute lesson, because the trip is spread across more teaching.

Timing is the factor parents control and ignore. Demand for IB and IGCSE home tuition in Vikhroli peaks from October, and again in January, which is exactly when the strong specialists are full and the ones still free are free for a reason. Booking in June for a September start costs the same per hour and buys a better teacher. The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest term, either: a tutor who needs six sessions to find what a specialist sees in one has cost you more by March, whatever the hourly figure looked like in July.

  • Board and level: an HL subject with an IA costs more than MYP support
  • Subject scarcity across Mumbai, which is not the same as difficulty
  • Session length and frequency: longer slots cost less per hour
  • Unpaid travel time, which Vikhroli station largely removes
  • When you book: June buys more quality than January at the same rate

What progress should look like at four weeks, one term and one exam cycle in Mumbai

Four weeks of home tuition is a habit check, not a grade check. By the fourth session the tutor should have given you a one-sentence account of what is wrong that you can repeat to the school, and your child should be starting questions instead of staring at them. Marked work should be coming home with the tutor's annotations on it. If nobody can tell you the diagnosis after four weeks, the problem is the tutor, not the child.

One term is the first fair read on grades. Look for boundaries crossed on internal tests rather than a dramatic jump, an IA draft handed in on the school's date rather than an extension, and fewer marks lost to command words. Mumbai schools report often enough that you will see this in writing. Be honest about distance, too: a student who began three grades below where you want them will not arrive in twelve weeks, and any tutor who implies otherwise is selling.

One exam cycle is the real test, and parents phrase the search for it as wanting the best IB and IGCSE tutor in Vikhroli when what they mean is the best fit for one child. Over a full cycle you should see mock-to-final movement, a steadier predicted grade, and a student who can explain what a question is asking before answering it. The limits matter as much as the targets. IB Gram does not guarantee grades, no tutor can guarantee a grade, and a student who will not do the work between sessions caps what any arrangement can deliver.

When it is not working, say it early. A fair number of matches simply do not fit, and the cost of saying so in week three is one conversation, while the cost of waiting until February is a term. Tell us what specifically is wrong, because the remedy differs: a personality mismatch needs a different person, while a tutor strong on content but vague about mark schemes may only need to be told to teach from the paper. A replacement is shortlisted against your original brief plus whatever the first attempt taught you.

  • Four weeks: a one-sentence diagnosis and annotated marked work
  • One term: boundaries crossed on internal tests, drafts in on time
  • One exam cycle: mock-to-final movement and a steadier predicted grade
  • No tutor can guarantee a grade, and IB Gram will not promise one
  • A tutor swap costs a conversation, not a restart of your search

Starting home classes in Vikhroli: what to have ready for session one

Starting home classes in Vikhroli goes faster if you gather four things before the first visit. The last report card, including the comments nobody reads. Any marked work from this term, especially a paper your child did badly on, because that is the most informative document in the house. The subject guide or syllabus for each subject in question, which most schools share as a PDF. And the school's assessment calendar, so the tutor can plan backwards from the dates that actually exist rather than a generic year.

Session one should spend most of its time on your child rather than on the tutor. Expect the tutor to read the marked work, set one question cold, watch how your child approaches it, and then explain what they saw. By the end you should have a plan for the next month in plain language: which topics, which paper, which habit. If the hour was mostly the tutor describing their qualifications, that is useful information too, and across Mumbai it is the most common reason a first match does not become a second session.

In the fortnight after, your job is small and it matters. Read the annotated work. Ask your child one question about it, not five. Hold the slot even in a week that feels busy, because the weeks that feel busy are the weeks the tutoring is for. Tell the tutor about anything the school changes, especially a moved deadline. The same is true of IB and IGCSE home tutors across Mumbai, but it is easier to keep here, where the tutor is a short walk from the station rather than an hour of traffic away.

After that, the arrangement should become boring, which is the goal. A fixed evening, a tutor on the society's visitor list, marked work moving in both directions, and a parent who knows what is due in three weeks. When a slot stops being boring, something has changed, and that is the moment to ask rather than wait.

  • The last report card and any marked papers from this term
  • The school assessment calendar, photographed in June if you can
  • The subject guide or syllabus for each subject in question
  • A table, a lamp and a charger in a shared room, not a bedroom
  • The tower, wing and flat number, plus which gate the tutor should use
FAQs

Vikhroli tutoring — questions parents ask

How quickly can home classes in Vikhroli start?+

Usually within a few days of your first message, and faster here than in most of Mumbai. Because the pool includes anyone on the Central Line who can reach Vikhroli station, the shortlist does not depend on finding somebody who already lives inside the township. In practice a parent who sends the board, year group and subjects on a Monday is choosing between names by midweek and hosting a trial that weekend. The one thing that slows it down is subject scarcity: a common subject moves in days, while a rare HL specialist can take a fortnight to free up an evening.

Will a tutor really travel to Vikhroli for a seven o'clock weekday lesson?+

Yes, and this is the easiest part of a Vikhroli booking. A tutor finishing in the Godrej township walks back to Vikhroli station and is on a train within minutes, so an evening slot here costs them far less unpaid time than the same slot at an address reached only by road. Tutors living in Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar East, Bhandup or Mulund treat this as a normal weekday stop rather than a favour. What they will push back on is a six o'clock start for a child who gets home at half past five, and they are right to.

How does a tutor get through the gate at Godrej Platinum every week?+

Add them to your society's expected-visitor list or app once, instead of clearing them at security every week. Visitors in the Godrej Vikhroli township sign in, and a tutor arriving at the same hour each Tuesday should be a standing entry. Give the tower name, wing and flat number in your first message, and say which gate to use, because the entrance closest to Vikhroli station is not always the one closest to your building. Ten minutes lost at the gate every week quietly becomes a cancelled slot by October, and nobody ever blames the right thing.

Where in the home should the lesson happen, and should a parent sit in?+

Use a shared room with a table, good light and the door open, rather than a bedroom. A dining table beats a study desk for most subjects because there is room for a past paper, a calculator and the tutor's own notes side by side. A parent does not need to sit in and mostly should not, since most children work worse when watched. Be at home, be within earshot, and read the marked work afterwards. For the trial session only, stay closer than usual, because that hour tells you more than any profile will.

What do IB and IGCSE tuition fees in Vikhroli depend on?+

Board and level first, then subject scarcity, session length, travel and when you book. A Higher Level Diploma Programme subject with an internal assessment to supervise sits above IGCSE, which sits above MYP and PYP support, because the tutor marks drafts against criteria between sessions. A scarce HL specialist is charging for scarcity rather than difficulty. Longer and more frequent sessions usually work out cheaper per hour than one short weekly slot, and booking in June instead of January buys a better teacher at the same rate. Rates are quoted per tutor, not from a published list.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after three sessions?+

Tell us, and the slot moves to a different tutor without you starting the search from the beginning. Say what specifically is wrong, because the fix differs by cause: a personality mismatch needs a different person, while a tutor who is strong on content but vague about mark schemes may only need to be told to teach from the paper. If it is the former, a replacement is shortlisted against your original brief plus what the first attempt revealed. Paying session by session or monthly at the start keeps the cost of changing your mind at zero.

Does online tutoring actually work for IB and IGCSE, or is it second best?+

It works well for some things and badly for others, and being honest about which saves a term. An IB and IGCSE online tutor in Vikhroli is the right answer when the specialist you need does not exist within reach: HL Economics, Computer Science, Psychology or a rarer language. It also beats cancelling when you need a short repair before a paper. It is weaker for younger students, for anyone whose problem is attention rather than content, and for draft work where paper on a shared table is simply faster. Hybrid usually outperforms either on its own.

There has been no visible progress after a month. What should we do?+

Ask the tutor for the diagnosis and the plan in writing, then judge the answer rather than the grade. At four weeks you should expect a one-sentence account of what is wrong, annotated marked work and fewer blank starts, not a jump in marks. If the tutor cannot name the problem, change tutor. If they can name it and your child is not doing the work between sessions, no amount of teaching fixes that, and the conversation needs to be with your child. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and will not pretend a month moves one.

Can one tutor cover two children on different boards?+

Sometimes, and it is worth asking, but do not force it. A tutor comfortable in both IGCSE and the Diploma Programme can take a Year 10 and a DP1 sibling in back-to-back hours at your address, which halves the travel and often the total cost. It stops working when the subjects diverge: an HL Chemistry specialist is not automatically the right person for Year 8 Maths. Two specialists in consecutive slots on the same evening is usually the better arrangement, and being a short walk from the station makes that unusually easy to schedule here.

My child is at Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai and we live in Vikhroli. Does that change the tutor we need?+

It changes the timetable more than the tutor. A Powai campus means a long morning run off JVLR, so your child reaches home later and more tired than a locally schooled child, and a six o'clock lesson is wasted money. The school also sets its own internal assessment dates inside the board windows, so the tutor should plan backwards from that calendar rather than a generic one. IB Gram is not affiliated with Hiranandani Foundation School or NES International School; both are named here only as local context for families in this part of Mumbai.

Can we ask for a tutor with examining or moderating experience?+

You can ask, and some tutors list it, but treat it as one signal rather than the deciding one. Examining experience tends to show up as precision about command words and mark schemes, which is exactly what converts knowledge into marks on an IGCSE or Diploma Programme paper. It is no substitute for being effective with a fifteen-year-old who has stopped trying. IB Gram is not affiliated with the IB, Cambridge International Education or Pearson Edexcel, and tutors describe their own experience, which the trial session is there to test.
