IGCSE Tutors Near Me in Worli Sea Face, Mumbai

Looking for an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face is usually a search for frequency rather than for talent. Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel papers reward regular short practice, and only a nearby tutor can deliver home tuition twice a week. This page explains how cadence is built here, and what a Mumbai family should ask for.

Two shorter weekly slots arranged where the subject needs frequency
Syllabus code checked against Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel before matching
Marking handled between sessions so paid time is teaching time

Finding an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face: what we do with your enquiry

Every enquiry from this corridor gets read for two things that parents rarely write down. The first is how often the student can realistically work with someone, because an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face is valuable mainly for being able to come twice in a week rather than once. The second is what the student does between sessions, since that is where most of the learning either happens or fails to. A request for one ninety-minute slot on a Saturday and a request for two forty-five-minute slots on Tuesday and Thursday look similar on a form and produce different outcomes by November.

We then fix the board and code. Cambridge International Education and Pearson Edexcel both publish qualifications under the IGCSE heading, and the papers differ in structure even where the subject title is identical. Schools in South Mumbai mix the two freely, sometimes within one child's timetable. A tutor who knows one board's paper structure intimately and the other's vaguely will drill the wrong question types for a term, and the student will not know enough to object. So we ask for the code on the syllabus handout, not the subject name on the report.

Availability inside the island comes next, and it is the step that eliminates most candidates. An IGCSE home tutor in Worli Sea Face has to be able to reach the towers on two separate evenings, which is a different ask from reaching them once. In practice that means tutors living in Prabhadevi, Worli or Mahalaxmi, who can fit a sea face student between two others on the same stretch. Someone coming from outside the island can usually commit to one weekly visit and almost never to two.

Only then do we look at the teaching. Shortlisting is for two or three tutors who have taught that board and that subject at this level, and you speak to each of them before anybody is confirmed. We also tell you honestly which ones are a stretch on travel, because that is the variable most likely to break the arrangement in the second term. Nobody is sent to your building until you have picked, and the first paid session is a diagnostic with written notes rather than a lesson.

  • Cadence is read from your enquiry before subject or budget
  • The syllabus code decides the match, not the subject title
  • Two evenings a week narrows the pool far more than one does
  • We flag which shortlisted tutors are a stretch on travel
  • You choose on a call before anyone visits your tower

Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, Core or Extended: the two forks in Year 9

Two decisions get made around Year 9 and both are hard to reverse. The first is which board a subject sits under, which is usually the school's decision rather than yours, but is worth confirming because it determines everything a tutor plans. The second is tier, where Cambridge offers Core and Extended entry in several subjects. Extended carries the full grade range and the harder papers; Core is narrower and is the right answer for a student whose foundations are still unreliable. Both decisions are frequently taken on the evidence of one internal test, which is thin, and both are worth a direct conversation with the subject teacher.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE structures some subjects without a tier at all, which removes one decision and adds another: the paper split and the availability of a separate higher-grade paper differ from Cambridge in ways that change revision priorities. A student moving schools mid-course between the two boards has a genuine mapping problem, not just a syllabus difference, and that is one of the few situations where we would recommend starting with two sessions a week for a month and then dropping to one.

The reason tier matters for tutoring cadence is that Extended papers demand fluency rather than recall. A student can revise content for an Extended paper and still lose heavily because they have not done enough questions quickly enough to recognise what is being asked. Fluency is built by frequency, not by length, which is the practical argument for home tuition across this part of Mumbai being arranged twice weekly during Years 10 and 11 wherever the timetable allows it.

There is one decision that is not yours and should not be rushed: what comes after. Students on this corridor typically move into a Diploma Programme or an A Level pathway afterwards, and the Extended tier is effectively the entry requirement for carrying sciences or mathematics forward. A sibling page covers the International Baccalaureate side of that choice in detail. For a Year 9 family the only thing worth settling now is whether the subject is likely to continue, because that answer decides the tier and the tier decides the next two years.

  • Confirm the board code on the syllabus handout, not the report card
  • Extended carries the full grade range and harder papers
  • Core sat well is better than Extended sat half-finished
  • A mid-course board change is a mapping problem, not a syllabus difference
  • Extended papers reward fluency, which is built by frequency

Which IGCSE subjects actually need a weekly tutor?

Not all of them, and saying so costs us bookings. Mathematics and the sciences benefit most reliably from regular outside help, because both are cumulative: a gap in Year 9 algebra silently damages every topic that follows it, and no amount of Year 11 revision repairs the foundation. These are also the subjects where frequency pays off most visibly, since twenty short question sets spread across a month beat one long session attempting the same volume.

English and the second languages need something narrower. Here the student usually has the content and loses marks on task interpretation: a Year 10 student writes an accomplished response to a question that was not asked, or produces a descriptive piece where a directed-writing task was set. Fixing that takes a handful of focused sessions and then periodic checking rather than a permanent weekly slot. Across all IB and IGCSE subjects a tutor in Worli Sea Face covers, these are the ones where we most often recommend a short block and then a pause.

The humanities and the social sciences sit in between. Economics, Business and History reward command-term discipline, source handling and structured paragraphs, all of which are teachable and none of which improve from reading notes again. A student who can define elasticity and still cannot answer an eight-mark evaluation question does not have a content problem. Home classes here work best when every session ends with a timed written answer that the tutor marks before the next one.

The practical components are the quietest source of lost marks in the sciences and the ones families notice last. Describing a method precisely enough for someone else to repeat, identifying the variable that was not properly controlled, reading a value off a graph to a sensible number of significant figures: these are examinable skills with their own mark schemes. A tutor sitting beside a student at a table can catch a sloppy method as it is being written. That is the one thing no video and no notes can do, and it is a large part of why in-person help still leads here.

  • Mathematics and the sciences are cumulative and benefit most from frequency
  • English and languages often need a short block, not a permanent slot
  • Humanities marks come from command terms and structure, not more notes
  • Every humanities session should end with a timed written answer
  • Practical and alternative-to-practical skills are examinable and usually untaught

The Worli Sea Face radius, and why Mahalaxmi tutors get the late slots

The working catchment for an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face is Worli, Prabhadevi and Mahalaxmi, with Lower Parel and Dadar added only for a scarce subject. This is not a small radius by choice. South Mumbai is dense and short-distance but slow: a tutor crossing from Worli to Colaba covers about eight kilometres and can still lose forty minutes to the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals in the evening peak, so tutors here are matched within the island rather than brought down from the suburbs. For a twice-weekly arrangement that radius shrinks further still.

Prabhadevi is the nearest station and the point most travelling tutors reference. The Western Line through Churchgate, Grant Road and Mumbai Central brings people down the island efficiently, the Harbour Line through CSMT, Dockyard and Sewri serves the eastern side, and Metro Line 3 on the Aqua corridor between Cuffe Parade and BKC has quietly expanded which cross-city matches are feasible. The Coastal Road has improved the northbound evening run without touching the junctions that actually cost time.

Mahalaxmi is where the late slots come from, and the reason is arithmetic rather than preference. A tutor living there can reach Worli Sea Face, Prabhadevi and Lower Parel inside the same short radius, so they can teach three students in one evening and the third of those can start at 8pm. A tutor making a dedicated trip from further out will always want the 5.30pm or 6pm slot that every family on the sea face is also competing for. If your household needs a late start, local matching is not a preference. It is the mechanism.

The twice-weekly request changes the geography again. One long journey a week is sustainable for most tutors; two is only sustainable if the journey is genuinely short or if the tutor already has another student on the same corridor. This is why IGCSE home tuition in Worli Sea Face is usually built around a tutor with existing commitments nearby, and why we will sometimes suggest one in-person session plus one short online contact instead of insisting on two visits. The cadence is the point, not the travel.

  • Worli, Prabhadevi and Mahalaxmi form the working catchment here
  • Prabhadevi station and the Coastal Road help; Haji Ali does not
  • Mahalaxmi tutors can stack three students and offer an 8pm start
  • Twice-weekly only works with a short journey or a nearby student
  • One visit plus one online contact can preserve cadence without the travel

Mock season on this corridor: October to the March series in Mumbai

Families along this stretch commonly send children to Ryan Global School and Aditya Birla World Academy, and the thing that matters for tutoring is each school's internal calendar rather than the board's. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with either school, or with any other named anywhere on this site. They appear because a Year 11 student's working year is shaped by school-set mocks and coursework deadlines, and a tutor who does not have that calendar is planning revision for the wrong fortnight.

The year divides cleanly into four phases on this corridor. June to September is content, and it is the cheapest and least crowded time to establish a twice-weekly rhythm. October and November carry the mock series, which is when demand for evening slots on the sea face spikes and when the real diagnosis happens, because a mock paper reveals more in three hours than a term of classwork. December is a pause that students need and parents often resent. January onwards is coursework completion followed by full-paper practice under timed conditions, running into the March examination series.

The mock results in November are the most useful document a tutor will ever be handed, and most families file them. They show not just the score but which question types were abandoned, where the timing collapsed, and whether the student read the command terms. Ask the school for the marked scripts rather than the grade summary, and hand them over. A tutor can rebuild an entire revision plan from two marked mock papers in a single session.

There is a scheduling consequence that is specific to Years 10 and 11 in Mumbai. Many schools run extra classes close to the examination series, which collide with existing tutoring slots. Rather than cancelling, the arrangement that works is to shorten the sessions and keep the frequency: two thirty-minute focused contacts hold more ground than one cancelled ninety-minute session. We set that expectation at the start so the slot does not quietly disappear in February.

  • Ryan Global School and Aditya Birla World Academy set the local calendar
  • June to September is the cheapest time to establish a twice-weekly rhythm
  • A November mock reveals more than a term of classwork
  • Ask for marked mock scripts, not the grade summary
  • When school adds extra classes, shorten sessions rather than cancelling

Do two short home classes beat one long session?

For IGCSE Mathematics and the sciences, usually yes, and the reason is how forgetting works rather than anything about teaching. A student who meets a topic twice in a week with a gap in between retains it far better than one who meets it once for twice as long, because the second contact forces retrieval while the memory is still partly intact. Two forty-five-minute home classes on a Tuesday and a Friday will beat one ninety-minute Saturday session in almost every cumulative subject. The constraint is purely logistical, which is why proximity matters so much on this corridor.

Home tuition stays the primary mode for a separate reason. The failures that cost IGCSE marks happen in the first minute of a question, in the decision about where to start, and that moment is visible to someone sitting beside the student and invisible on a shared screen. An IGCSE home tutor in Worli Sea Face watches the pen stop, asks what the student was about to write, and corrects the instinct rather than the answer. Across a term that is the difference between a student who can attempt unfamiliar questions and one who cannot.

An IGCSE online tutor in Worli Sea Face solves the frequency problem when travel will not allow it. If the only genuinely experienced tutor for a scarce subject lives in another city, or if the family cannot host two visits, two short online contacts still beat one long in-person session for retention. Online also absorbs monsoon weeks, illness and travel without the arrangement collapsing, and it handles marked-work review well since both parties can look at the same photographed script.

The honest limits are worth stating. Online slows down badly for geometry, construction, graph work and long algebra, where paper is simply faster than any input device. Year 9 and Year 10 students lose attention within about fifteen minutes unless an adult is in earshot. And a tutor who has never been in the flat cannot see that the study table faces a television, which defeats more teaching than any syllabus gap. The arrangement most families here settle on is one home visit plus one short online contact, which keeps the cadence and keeps the diagnosis.

  • Two spaced contacts retain more than one session of double length
  • A tutor beside the student sees where a question goes wrong first
  • Online preserves frequency when two weekly visits are impossible
  • Geometry, graphs and long algebra all run slower on a screen
  • One visit plus one online contact is the common settlement here

Checks we run, and the three questions you should ask on the call

Our checks cover identity, qualification and board experience, and they are narrower than the word verification usually implies. Identity is confirmed against government photo identification matched to the person who actually arrives. Qualification means the degree or teaching credential exists and is in the claimed subject. Board experience is the one checked hardest, because this is where profiles blur: a teacher with four years of Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Biology is not automatically a Cambridge Biology tutor, and the paper structures they would drill are different.

What no check establishes is whether the tutor suits your child. A fully qualified, correctly boarded tutor can be entirely wrong for one particular fifteen-year-old, and no screening process will predict that. This is why there is a call before confirmation and why the first paid session is diagnostic. It is also why a twice-weekly arrangement is easier to correct than a weekly one: you learn within a fortnight what would otherwise take a month to become obvious.

Three questions on the call do more work than any badge. Ask the tutor to name the papers for your child's exact syllabus code and say what each one rewards; a vague answer here is disqualifying rather than endearing. Ask what the first session will consist of, and listen for whether it involves reading your child's own marked work rather than administering a generic test. And ask what you will receive after four weeks. Be wary of a tutor who answers with a guaranteed grade, because IB Gram does not guarantee grades and nobody honest in this market will.

The fourth check is the building, and on this corridor it has a specific shape. Worli Sea Face is a line of sea-facing towers with strict visitor registration, so tutors here are given a standing gate pass rather than being cleared session by session. That matters doubly for a twice-weekly arrangement: a visitor entry negotiated twice a week is the kind of friction that ends an arrangement by February. Lodge the tutor's identity details with the building office in week one, and in towers such as Omkar 1973 and Piramal Aranya check that the pass list at the lobby desk has been updated before the second visit.

  • Identity, qualification and specific board experience are verified separately
  • One board's experience does not transfer to the other's paper structure
  • Ask the tutor to name your child's papers and what each rewards
  • Ask what arrives after four weeks, and distrust a promised grade
  • A twice-weekly slot makes the standing gate pass essential, not optional

How should a week of IGCSE home tuition in Worli Sea Face be structured?

A good week has three contacts with the material and only two of them involve the tutor. The structure we recommend runs as follows. 1. On the first evening the tutor teaches or repairs one topic and sets a short question set, deliberately small enough to be finished in twenty minutes. 2. The student completes it the next day and photographs it to the tutor, who marks it outside paid time. 3. On the second evening the session opens on the two questions that went wrong and nothing else, then moves to the next topic. 4. At the weekend the student attempts one timed past-paper section with no help. 5. The following week's first session begins by revisiting whichever of those answers failed.

The reason that sequence works is that it never lets a misunderstanding sit for a week. In a once-weekly arrangement a student who misunderstands something on Tuesday practises the misunderstanding until the following Tuesday, and six days of wrong practice takes longer to undo than the original teaching took. Two contacts with a short gap between them catches the error before it hardens. This is the real argument for proximity: an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face can deliver that gap, and a tutor an hour away cannot.

Marking placement is the detail that decides value for money. If the tutor marks homework during the session, you are paying teaching rates for marking, and over a term that is a meaningful share of the fee. Ask explicitly how work is handled between sessions. The arrangements that give the most teaching per rupee have the student submitting by photograph a day ahead, the tutor marking it unpaid or at a reduced rate, and the paid time starting on the errors. This is also why IGCSE tuition fees in Worli Sea Face cannot sensibly be compared as an hourly figure alone.

The structure changes twice during the year. From October the second weekly contact becomes a full timed paper section rather than a topic, because by then diagnosis matters more than coverage. From January it inverts entirely: the tutor stops teaching new content and the whole week becomes paper, mark, correct, repeat. IGCSE home tuition in Worli Sea Face that is still introducing topics in February has usually mistimed the year, and a tutor should be telling you that rather than waiting to be asked.

  • Three contacts with the material a week, only two with the tutor
  • Short question sets finished in twenty minutes beat long assignments
  • Marking outside paid time buys more teaching for the same fee
  • From October the second contact becomes a timed paper section
  • New content in February usually means the year was mistimed

What is reasonable to expect by the November mocks in Mumbai?

If a twice-weekly arrangement starts in July, by the November mock series you should expect a student who finishes the paper. That sounds modest and it is the single biggest marginal gain available at this level, because a large share of lost IGCSE marks come from unattempted questions rather than wrong ones. Alongside that, expect attempts at the question types that used to be skipped, working that a marker can follow, and a student who can say what a question is asking before trying to answer it.

At four weeks the markers are behavioural and you can check them yourself without understanding the subject. Does the student start a question unprompted. Do they attempt the parts they used to leave blank. Do they bring their own list of confusions to the session rather than waiting to be tested. Can they explain what they did, not just what the answer was. Two of those four at four weeks is normal progress. None of them is worth a direct conversation, and a twice-weekly arrangement means you have that conversation in week four rather than in week ten.

Over the full cycle to the examination series the honest claim is bounded. A good match closes the distance between what a student knows and what they put on paper under timed conditions, and on this corridor that distance is frequently the main problem. It does not change the quality of school teaching, the amount of work the student is prepared to do, or anything about subjects nobody is tutoring. IB Gram publishes no success rates and does not guarantee grades. Home classes are a mechanism for converting knowledge into marks, not a mechanism for creating either.

Sometimes the right answer is fewer sessions, not more. A student who is coping and whose parents want insurance will resent the hours and learn less than they would have alone. A student failing across five or six subjects has something broader going wrong and the first conversation belongs with the school coordinator. And a Year 9 student who is simply unchallenged needs harder material rather than more supervision. We would rather turn down a twice-weekly booking at enquiry stage than take it and watch it unravel by October.

  • By November the first real gain is a paper that gets finished
  • Unattempted questions cost more marks than wrong answers do
  • Four-week markers are behavioural and checkable without subject knowledge
  • No success rates are published and grades are not guaranteed
  • A coping student with anxious parents usually needs fewer sessions

Starting with an IGCSE home tutor in Worli Sea Face, Mumbai

Send five things and the match usually takes a couple of days. The school, the year group, the board and syllabus code if you have it, the subject or subjects, and the two evenings that are genuinely free in your household. Say explicitly whether you want one session a week or two, because that single answer changes the shortlist more than anything else on the form. We come back with two or three tutors who have taught that code and can reach your tower on both evenings.

Two documents make the first session worth paying for. The most recent marked script, which tells a tutor why the grade happened in a way the report card cannot. And the school's assessment calendar for the term, which lets the tutor plan backwards from the dates that matter instead of forwards from wherever the class is. If a November mock has already happened, the marked papers from it are worth more than both.

Set up the physical space before the first visit rather than after it. A table with chairs on both sides so the tutor can see the page, in a room without a television, is the whole requirement. Some families along the sea face use the building's common study room instead, which works well for two siblings sharing a tutor and badly for a student who looks up every time someone walks past. Decide which before the tutor arrives, because changing it in week three costs a session.

Parents who search for the best IGCSE tutor in Worli Sea Face, or type IGCSE tutors near me Worli Sea Face at eleven at night, are usually looking for a way to shorten a long decision. The short version: pick a tutor who knows the exact paper, lives close enough to come twice if the subject needs it, marks outside your paid time, and tells you something uncomfortable in week one. An IGCSE private tutor Worli Sea Face families keep for two years almost always meets all four, and a home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents recommend to neighbours usually got there on reliability rather than brilliance.

  • Say whether you want one weekly session or two in the enquiry
  • Send the last marked script and the term assessment calendar
  • Marked November mock papers are worth more than both
  • Set up a table away from the television before the first visit
  • Four tests: right paper, close enough, marks unpaid, honest in week one
FAQs

Worli Sea Face tutoring — questions parents ask

Why does an IGCSE tutor near me in Worli Sea Face matter more than a famous one further away?+

Because the thing that most improves IGCSE marks is frequency, and only a nearby tutor can offer two evenings a week. Spacing two short contacts across a week retains far more than one long session, and it catches a misunderstanding before the student has practised it for six days. A tutor an hour away can commit to one visit and rarely to two, and by the second term a long commute has usually produced cancellations. Teaching quality between two properly qualified tutors is seldom large enough to outweigh a missing weekly contact.

Can a tutor travel to Worli Sea Face twice a week for evening home classes?+

Yes, if they are matched from inside the island, and this is the main reason we restrict the search radius. A tutor living in Prabhadevi, Worli or Mahalaxmi can hold two weekly evenings on this corridor, usually because they already teach another student nearby and the sea face visit is one stop on an evening route. Someone travelling down from the suburbs will manage one visit reliably and two only briefly. If two visits are impossible, we keep the cadence with one visit plus one short online contact instead.

How does the building gate pass work if the tutor comes twice a week?+

It becomes essential rather than convenient. Worli Sea Face towers run strict visitor registration, so tutors here are issued a standing gate pass instead of being cleared each visit. You lodge the tutor's identity details with the building office once in the first week, and after that each arrival is a signature against a standing entry. Negotiating a visitor entry twice a week is the kind of friction that quietly ends an arrangement by February. In towers such as Omkar 1973 and Piramal Aranya the lobby desk holds the list, so confirm it has been updated before the second visit.

Is Core or Extended the right entry for my child?+

Extended if the subject is continuing after Year 11, Core if the foundations are genuinely unstable. Extended carries the full grade range and the harder papers, and is effectively required for anyone intending to take sciences or mathematics at a higher level afterwards. Core caps the range but produces better results for a student who would otherwise leave an Extended paper half finished. The decision is usually taken on one internal assessment, so ask the subject teacher what they would advise if the deadline were a term later, and ask a prospective tutor the same question in week two.

How many subjects can we realistically tutor at once?+

Two, comfortably. Three is possible if one of them is a short block rather than a standing slot. Four collapses, almost always because the student runs out of free evenings rather than because any single match failed. If a student needs support in four subjects the honest reading is that something broader is wrong, and the first conversation belongs with the school coordinator. Where two subjects are needed, Mathematics plus one science is the most common pairing on this corridor and the one that fits a twice-weekly rhythm best.

What do IGCSE tuition fees depend on, and why is there no price list?+

Board and tier, subject scarcity, the travel absorbed, session length, and how often the tutor comes. One published figure would be wrong for most readers, because an Extended Physics specialist and Year 9 Mathematics support are not the same market. The variable parents overlook is marking: a tutor who marks homework inside the session is charging teaching rates for marking, which over a term is a significant share of the total. Ask where marking sits before comparing two hourly numbers, since two shorter sessions with unpaid marking often deliver more teaching than one long one.

Does an IGCSE online tutor work for Mathematics and the sciences?+

Well enough for frequency, less well for diagnosis. Online handles marked-work review and short topic contacts cleanly, and two short online sessions still beat one long in-person session for retention. Where it weakens is geometry, construction, graph work and long algebraic manipulation, which are all slower on any input device than on paper, and early diagnosis, because the tutor cannot watch how the student starts from a blank page. For a scarce subject or a household that cannot host two visits, online is the right trade. For a fresh Year 9 start, begin in person.

Which schools do children here attend, and how does that change the plan?+

Enquiries from this stretch most often name Ryan Global School and Aditya Birla World Academy. It changes timing rather than content: each school sets its own mock and coursework dates, and two schools on the same board can be weeks apart, so a tutor working from a generic calendar revises the wrong topics in the wrong fortnight. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with either school. Bring the school's assessment calendar to session one and the tutor can plan backwards from real dates immediately.

The tutor is good but my child is not doing the homework. What now?+

Change the size of the homework before changing the tutor. The most common cause is a question set that is too large to start, and the fix is a set small enough to finish in twenty minutes, submitted by photograph the next day. That also moves the marking outside paid time, so the following session opens on the two questions that went wrong. If the student still will not submit after a fortnight of short sets, the problem is motivation rather than workload, and that is a conversation worth having with the student present.

Does a parent need to be at home for every session?+

No, but an adult should be somewhere in the flat, and nobody should sit at the table supervising. A watched student performs rather than works, which hides exactly the hesitations the tutor needs to see. What matters more is the room: a table with chairs on both sides, away from the television. For early online sessions with a Year 9 student, an adult in earshot for the first few weeks genuinely helps, because attention leaks on a screen in a way it does not when an adult is in the chair opposite.

We are starting in October with the mocks three weeks away. Is it too late?+

Not too late to be useful, but the goal has to change. With three weeks to a mock series the work is paper technique, command-term accuracy and finishing papers rather than covering content, and a tutor who promises syllabus coverage in that window is overselling. The best use of a late start is timed sections with immediate marking and a short triage list of recoverable topics. Then use the marked mock scripts in November as the real diagnosis and build a proper twice-weekly rhythm from December for the March series.

What should the written notes after session one actually contain?+

A named component, a named habit and a first target. For example: that the student can do the algebra but loses marks on multi-step worded questions because they do not extract the information before starting, and that the first target is five worded questions a week with the extraction written out separately. Notes that say the student needs more practice tell you nothing and should be challenged that week. If a tutor cannot be specific after ninety minutes of watching a student work, they were explaining rather than diagnosing.
