How a search for an IGCSE tutor near me in Powai becomes two names

A parent typing IGCSE tutor near me in Powai into Google is asking two questions in one breath. The first is whether anyone competent is close enough to come on a Tuesday evening. The second, which matters more, is whether that person has actually taught Cambridge International Education or Pearson Edexcel papers at Year 10 and Year 11, rather than a state-board syllabus with the labels changed. Proximity is easy to fake on a listings site. Board experience is not, and it is what separates a tutor who can fix a Paper 4 problem from one who can only re-explain the chapter. Across Mumbai this is the single commonest mismatch we are asked to undo.

So the match starts with your child's school, year group, board, subject list and the tier they have been entered for. Then it adds the thing a directory never asks: where exactly in Powai you live, and which gate a tutor uses. A tutor coming off JVLR to Hiranandani Gardens is doing a very different journey from one crossing to Lodha Bellissimo off the Eastern Express Highway, and the difference shows up in whether the 7pm slot survives past week three.

You get a shortlist of two or three profiles, not twelve. Each one carries the boards and subjects they have taught, the year groups they work with, and their realistic travel window into Powai. You speak to them on a free discovery call before any money moves. An IGCSE home tutor near me in Powai should be able to tell you, on that call, which paper your child is weakest on and how they would find out in session one. If they cannot, that is useful information too, and you have lost nothing but twenty minutes.

IB Gram is an independent matching platform. We are not affiliated with Hiranandani Foundation School, Podar International School, Oberoi International School or any other school named anywhere on this page, and we do not guarantee grades. What we control is the quality of the shortlist and how quickly we replace a tutor who is not the right fit.

  • 1. Tell us board, year group, subjects and your exact Powai address
  • 2. We shortlist two or three verified IGCSE subject specialists
  • 3. You hold a free discovery call with each one, no commitment
  • 4. Lessons begin only after you confirm the tutor and the slot
  • 5. We review the match with you at the four-week mark

Which IGCSE tier and subject set does your child actually need?

At IGCSE the single decision with the longest shadow is the Core or Extended tier. Cambridge International Education offers many subjects at two tiers, and the grades available differ between them. A student entered for Core cannot reach the top grades however well they perform; a student entered for Extended who is not ready sits papers that assume content they have not secured. Schools across Mumbai make these entries in Year 9 or early Year 10, often on the strength of one internal assessment cycle, and parents frequently discover the decision only when an option form comes home.

A good IGCSE home tutor in Powai treats the tier question as part of the brief rather than something fixed. In the first few weeks they are forming a view on whether the current entry matches what the student can hold under timed conditions, and they tell you plainly if it does not. That is a conversation to have with the school's subject teacher and examinations officer early, because entry amendment windows close well before the exam series and vary by board and centre. Check the current Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel subject guide and your school's coordinator for the dates that apply to your child's cohort rather than any figure quoted online.

The subject set matters almost as much. A student taking three sciences plus Additional Mathematics is carrying a very different load from one taking two sciences and a second language, and the tuition that helps is different too. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and Cambridge IGCSE also differ in structure for several subjects, so a tutor needs to know which specification sits in front of your child, not just which subject. The wider IB Gram panel covers all IB and IGCSE subjects a tutor in Powai might be asked for; this page is about the Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE half of it, at Years 9 to 11.

Where families get this wrong is treating IGCSE as a two-year sprint that begins in Year 10. The content that decides a Year 11 grade is laid down in Year 9, which is exactly when most parents feel there is no urgency. Starting IGCSE home tuition in Powai in Year 9 for one weak subject costs less and achieves more than starting it for three subjects in the January before the papers.

  • Core and Extended tiers cap different grade ranges in many subjects
  • Tier entries are usually set in Year 9 or early Year 10
  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel specifications differ for several subjects
  • Three sciences plus Additional Mathematics is a markedly heavier load
  • Year 9 foundations decide Year 11 grades more than Year 11 revision does

Which IGCSE subjects do Powai students lose the most marks in?

Mathematics, the sciences and the second languages account for most of the IGCSE requests that reach us anywhere in Mumbai, and Powai is no exception, and each one loses marks in a predictable place. In Mathematics at Extended tier the losses cluster in the longer structured questions, where a student knows every individual step but cannot sequence them without prompting, and in the non-calculator work that schools under time pressure tend to under-drill. In the sciences the losses are rarely conceptual. They are in the command words: a student who writes a correct explanation when the paper asked them to describe has earned nothing, and no amount of extra content teaching fixes that.

The second languages are their own problem. Oral and written components need practice that is uncomfortable to arrange at school, where a class of thirty cannot give one student twenty minutes of spoken correction. This is the clearest case for a home tutor: a Year 10 student working on a speaking component across the dining table, with one person listening to them and correcting pronunciation in real time, improves in a way no group class can replicate.

Then there are the internal assessment and coursework components that several IGCSE subjects carry. These are marked inside the school and moderated outside it, which means a student's own planning and drafting habits matter directly. A tutor's job here is narrow and strict: they help the student understand the assessment criteria and build their own work, and they do not write it. Any tutor who offers to draft a coursework piece is a tutor to decline, for reasons that go well beyond ethics into academic honesty policy. Do not reproduce any mark total or component weighting you read online, including from older guides; the boards revise these on their own cycles and your school's coordinator holds the current version.

Across all of it, the diagnostic that matters in session one is not a test of knowledge. It is watching the student attempt a past paper question with the tutor silent, and noting where they stop. Students who stop at the second line of a question have a confidence problem. Students who fill the page but score four out of eight have a command-word problem. Those two need completely different tuition, and a tutor who cannot tell them apart will spend a term teaching content that was never missing.

  • Extended Mathematics losses cluster in multi-step structured questions and non-calculator work
  • Science marks are lost on command words, not on concepts
  • Language speaking components need one-to-one correction a class cannot give
  • Coursework support means explaining criteria, never drafting the student's work
  • Session one should diagnose where the student stops, not what they know

What counts as near me in Powai, measured in road minutes

Here is the fact that governs every tutoring arrangement in this part of Mumbai, Maharashtra, and that no listings site will tell you: Powai has no railway station of its own. Every tutor who comes to your flat arrives by road, from Andheri East, from Kanjurmarg, or from Ghatkopar. There is no train that drops someone five minutes from Hiranandani Gardens. That single absence is why the whole idea of searching for IGCSE tutors near me in Powai needs reframing. Distance in kilometres is meaningless here. Road minutes at 6:30pm are the only unit that matters.

In practice this produces a usable rule. A tutor based in Chandivali or inside Powai itself has a ten to fifteen minute approach and can hold a 6pm slot through a full term. A tutor coming from Andheri East crosses on JVLR, which is fine at 4pm and genuinely slow at 7pm. A tutor from Kanjurmarg comes up off the Eastern Express Highway and is usually quicker than a Mumbai map suggests, because that approach avoids the worst of the JVLR crawl. Ghatkopar adds Metro Line 1 as an option for the tutor's own commute, though the last leg into Powai is still a road leg.

So when we match along the Powai–JVLR corridor, we match inward. The tutors we put in front of a Powai family are drawn first from Powai, Hiranandani Gardens and Chandivali, then from Andheri East and Kanjurmarg, and only after that from further out on the Central Line. A home tutor who has to cross the city for a weekday evening lesson will be reliable for a month and then start rescheduling, and you will have lost half a term discovering it. We would rather tell you up front that a 6pm Monday is hard and a 7:30pm Monday is easy.

The same logic sets the slot, not just the tutor. Families in Hiranandani Gardens often do better with a late evening weekday slot and a longer weekend morning session, because the weekend approach road is clear. Families nearer Chandivali can hold an earlier weekday slot. The panel runs all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Powai families book across both patterns, and the one that works for you depends mostly on which side of the lake you are on and when your child actually gets home from school.

  • Powai has no station, so every tutor arrives by road
  • Chandivali and Hiranandani Gardens tutors hold early evening slots reliably
  • Andheri East approaches on JVLR: quick off-peak, slow at 7pm
  • Kanjurmarg comes off the Eastern Express Highway, often faster than expected
  • Ghatkopar adds Metro Line 1 for the tutor's own commute
  • We match inward from Powai outwards, never across the city

The Powai school calendar that quietly sets your deadlines

Families in Powai send children to Hiranandani Foundation School, to Podar International School, and across JVLR to Oberoi International School, among others. These are named here as local context only; IB Gram has no relationship with any of them and does not represent them. Between them they run Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel and International Baccalaureate pathways, which is unusual density even for Mumbai. What matters for tuition is that their calendars are not identical, and the assessment pressure points they create are what actually determines when you need a tutor.

The shape of the IGCSE year in Mumbai is reasonably consistent even so. The June reopening is slow, and that is the cheapest and most effective window for remedial work on content from the previous year. September and October bring the first serious internal assessments and the first report that tells a parent something true. The Diwali break is the point at which a Year 11 family either starts timed practice or decides not to, and that decision shows up in February. January and February are mock season, and by then a tutor is managing exam technique rather than teaching content. The main examination series follows, and the papers themselves are set by the board's calendar, not the school's, so confirm dates with your school's examinations officer rather than any list you find online.

This calendar is why the month you start IGCSE home tuition in Powai changes what the tuition can be. A family starting in June has three clear months to fix foundations before the first report. A family starting in November is working inside mock season and the honest answer is that the tutor will prioritise two or three high-yield topics and exam technique, because there is not time for everything. We say that out loud at the discovery call rather than letting you find out in March.

One Powai-specific wrinkle: because every tutor arrives by road, school events shift tuition. A parents' evening at Hiranandani Foundation School, an inter-school fixture at Oberoi International School, or a long-weekend exodus up the Eastern Express Highway all move traffic on JVLR in ways that make a fixed 6pm slot fragile that week. Tutors who already work in this corridor plan around it. A tutor new to Powai learns it the hard way, usually at your expense.

  • June reopening is the cheapest window for fixing previous-year gaps
  • September and October internal assessments produce the first honest report
  • The Diwali break decides whether timed practice starts in time
  • January and February mocks shift tuition from content to technique
  • School events reshape JVLR traffic and make fixed slots fragile

Should you book IGCSE home tuition in Powai or go online?

Home tutoring is the default for a reason, and in Powai the reason is not convenience. It is attention. A tutor sitting at your dining table sees the things a screen hides: that your child's working is illegible, that the calculator is the wrong model for the paper, that they reach for the formula booklet before thinking. A home tutor also sees the study environment, which is often the actual problem. Three of the four most useful interventions we see reported back from Mumbai homes are environmental rather than academic, and none of them are visible on a video call.

Online IGCSE tuition earns its place in two specific situations. The first is subject scarcity. If your child needs a specialist in a less commonly taught IGCSE subject, the pool within a fifteen-minute road radius of Hiranandani Gardens may be genuinely empty, and an IGCSE online tutor in Powai who is excellent is better than a nearby generalist who is not. The second is exam season. In January and February, when a Year 11 student needs three short sessions a week rather than one long one, online removes the travel question entirely and the sessions actually happen.

The hybrid pattern is what most Powai families settle into by the second term, and it is not a compromise. One home session a week, usually at the weekend or late on a weekday when JVLR has cleared, carries the teaching and the diagnosis. One or two shorter online sessions carry the follow-up: marking a past paper together, working through the questions the student got stuck on, checking a coursework plan. The travel cost is paid once instead of three times, which also keeps the total lower.

The honest trade-off runs the other way too. Online sessions with a younger Year 9 student who is not yet self-managing tend to drift, and a parent ends up supervising the session, which defeats the point. Students who need accountability more than explanation do better with someone physically in the room. If you are unsure, start with an IGCSE home tutor near me in Powai for the first month, then decide whether to move part of it online once you can see how your child works.

  • Home sessions reveal handwriting, working and study-space problems a screen hides
  • Online suits scarce subjects where no local specialist exists
  • Exam season favours short frequent online sessions over one long visit
  • Hybrid pays the travel cost once and keeps the total lower
  • Younger Year 9 students usually need someone physically in the room

How is an IGCSE home tutor in Powai actually checked?

Every tutor profile on IB Gram carries a verified identity, verified qualifications, and a record of which boards, subjects and year groups they have actually taught. We check the documents, we interview on subject knowledge rather than on enthusiasm, and we ask for specifics: which specification, which papers, which years. A tutor who has taught Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics for six cohorts and a tutor who has read the syllabus both describe themselves the same way on a listings site. They do not survive the same conversation.

What we cannot do is sit in your living room. So there are checks only you can run, and they take one phone call. Ask which board and specification your child is on, and see whether the answer comes back immediately. Ask what they would do in session one, and listen for a diagnostic rather than a lesson plan. Ask how they would know in four weeks whether this is working, and expect a specific answer about marks on timed questions, not a vague one about confidence. Ask them to describe a student they could not help, which is the single most revealing question on the list, and be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade in response.

On the household side, run the practical checks before the first session rather than during it. Confirm the society's visitor protocol and whether a standing weekly entry can be registered at the gate, because in Hiranandani Gardens and at Lodha Bellissimo a tutor who has to be phoned in every week will eventually arrive late. Decide where the lesson happens and make sure it is not a bedroom with a door closed. Agree who is at home. None of this is suspicion; it is the difference between a tutoring arrangement that lasts a term and one that quietly stops in week five.

We also tell you what verification does not mean. It does not mean a tutor will suit your child, and it does not mean an outcome. Someone searching for an IGCSE tutor near me in Powai is buying a professional's time and method, and we do not guarantee grades, because no honest platform can. What we do guarantee is process: if the match is wrong, we replace it, and the replacement is a shortlist again, not whoever happens to be free.

  • Identity, qualifications and board-specific teaching history verified before listing
  • Subject interviews ask which specification and which papers, not general enthusiasm
  • Ask any tutor to describe a student they could not help
  • Register a standing gate entry before the first session, not during it
  • Lessons belong in a shared space, never behind a closed bedroom door

What IGCSE tuition fees in Powai actually depend on

We do not publish a rate card, because a single number would be wrong for most of the people reading it. What is useful is knowing which five variables move the figure, so that you can tell a reasonable quote from an unreasonable one. The first is board and level: Year 11 Extended work in a science or in Mathematics commands more than Year 9 consolidation, because the pool of tutors who can teach the harder papers well is smaller. The second is subject scarcity. A Mathematics tutor is findable within Powai. A specialist in a less commonly offered IGCSE language may be a city-wide search, and the price reflects the search, not the hour.

The third variable is the one Powai parents underestimate, and it follows directly from having no station. Travel is real cost and real time. A tutor giving up seventy minutes of road time on JVLR for a sixty-minute lesson is pricing a two-hour commitment, and they should be, because the alternative is a tutor who agrees to your rate and then cancels. This is also why an IGCSE private tutor Powai families book from inside the Powai–JVLR corridor often quotes lower than an equally qualified tutor from the Western Suburbs of Mumbai: they are not pricing the crossing.

The fourth is session structure. Two ninety-minute sessions a week cost more in total than one and less per hour than three sixty-minute visits, because the travel overhead is spread differently. Longer sessions suit Mathematics and the sciences, where a student needs to work a full structured question under supervision. Shorter and more frequent suits languages and exam-season technique work. The fifth is duration and commitment: a term-long arrangement with a fixed slot is worth more to a tutor than ad-hoc weeks, and that is usually reflected.

Two warnings about money, both learned from families who did not get them. A quote that is far below the local range usually means the tutor is not board-specialised, and a term of the wrong teaching is the most expensive option on the table. And nobody should ask you for a long prepaid block before a single lesson has happened. On IB Gram the discovery call is free, lessons start only after you say yes, and there is no lock-in, so if the fourth week tells you this is not working you are not arguing with a contract. Parents comparing IGCSE tutors near me in Powai should treat flexibility as part of the price.

  • Year 11 Extended science and Mathematics sit at the top of the range
  • Scarce subjects price the search, not the teaching hour
  • Road time into Powai is real cost and honest tutors price it
  • Two longer sessions beat three short visits for Mathematics and sciences
  • A quote far below the local range usually means no board specialism
  • No prepaid block before a lesson has happened, ever

What four weeks of IGCSE home classes in Mumbai should show you

Four weeks is roughly four to six sessions, and it is too early for a grade to move. What should have moved is the quality of the student's own account of their work. At four weeks a Year 10 student should be able to tell you which topics they are weak on, in the syllabus's own words, and what they are doing about it. If they still say they are bad at Chemistry, the tutor has been teaching rather than diagnosing. You should also see written work: marked past paper questions with the marks visible, not a tidy notebook.

At one term, which is ten to twelve weeks, marks on timed questions should be moving even if the overall grade has not. This is the point at which a good tutor can tell you what the realistic ceiling is for the next report and what it would take to go past it. It is also the point to have the hard conversation if nothing has shifted. Nothing shifting at twelve weeks is a signal, not bad luck, and the honest responses are a different tutor, a different diagnosis, or an acceptance that the problem is not tuition-shaped.

Across one full exam cycle you are looking for a different thing again: whether the student can perform under conditions. Mocks in January and February are the real test of a year of tuition, because they are the first time the work is done cold, timed and unaided. A student whose homework was excellent and whose mock is poor has an exam-technique problem, and that is fixable in the weeks remaining. A student whose mock matches their homework has had honest tuition.

The limits, stated plainly. Tuition cannot replace attendance, it cannot substitute for a student who will not work between sessions, and it cannot reliably turn a grade 4 into a grade 8 in a term. We do not guarantee grades and we do not publish success rates, because any number we published would be unverifiable and you should not trust a platform that does. What we will do is tell you at four weeks whether we think this match is working, and replace it if it is not. That is the contract behind IGCSE home classes in Powai, and it is the only one worth having.

  • Week four: the student can name their weak topics in syllabus language
  • Week four: marked past paper questions with visible marks, not neat notes
  • One term: marks on timed questions moving before the grade does
  • Nothing moving at twelve weeks is a signal to change something
  • Mock season tests exam technique, which is a separate fixable problem

Starting with an IGCSE tutor Mumbai parents can actually reach

Three things make the first conversation useful, and all three take ten minutes to gather. Find the most recent school report, including the subject teacher comments, because those comments are usually more diagnostic than the grades. Find out which board and which specification each subject is on; the school's academic office will confirm it if the report does not say. And write down the two or three evenings your child is genuinely free, after school transport, sport and whatever else is already in the week. That last one shapes the match more than anything else in Powai.

Send that through and you will have a shortlist of two or three verified profiles, each with the subjects and boards they have taught and their honest travel window into the Powai–JVLR corridor. You hold a free discovery call with the ones you like. We suggest asking each of them the same two questions: what would you do in session one, and how will we know in four weeks whether this is working. The answers will separate them quickly.

Session one itself is diagnostic, not a lesson. Expect the tutor to spend most of it watching your child attempt work rather than explaining, and expect the useful output to be a short written summary of what they found and what they propose. If a tutor arrives at session one with a prepared lecture, they have decided what the problem is before meeting the student. A good home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents ask about will tell you honestly if the gap is smaller than you feared, or larger.

After that, the rhythm is simple. Lessons run at the slot you agreed, we check in at four weeks, and you can change tutor or stop at any point because there is no lock-in. A parent who searches for the best IGCSE tutor in Powai is usually not looking for a superlative. They are looking for someone qualified, local enough to be reliable, and honest enough to say what they cannot fix. That is the shortlist we try to send.

  • Bring the latest report, including subject teacher comments
  • Confirm the board and specification for each subject first
  • List two or three evenings your child is genuinely free
  • Expect session one to diagnose, not to teach
  • No lock-in: change tutor or stop whenever you need to
FAQs

Powai tutoring — questions parents ask

Can a tutor travel to Hiranandani Gardens for a weekday evening slot?+

Yes, but the time you pick decides how reliable it is. Powai has no railway station, so a tutor comes by road from Andheri East on JVLR, from Kanjurmarg off the Eastern Express Highway, or from Ghatkopar. A 6pm weekday start from Andheri East is genuinely hard in the evening peak and tends to slip by the third week. A 7:30pm start, or a tutor based in Powai or Chandivali, holds for a full term. We match inward from the Powai corridor first for exactly this reason, and we tell you the travel window before you book.

How does society gate access work for a weekly home tuition slot?+

Register the tutor once rather than phoning them in every week. Larger Powai complexes including Hiranandani Gardens and Lodha Bellissimo have visitor protocols that allow a recurring entry for a regular service visit, and your society office can usually set that up with the tutor's name, phone number and the standing day and time. Do it before the first session. A tutor who waits ten minutes at the gate each week loses a sixth of the lesson, and that is the most common reason a good arrangement quietly stops in week five.

What does IGCSE tuition cost in Powai?+

It depends on five things rather than one, which is why we do not publish a rate card. Board and level matter most: Year 11 Extended Mathematics or a science sits higher than Year 9 consolidation. Subject scarcity moves it next, because a rarely taught language means a city-wide search. Travel is real in Powai specifically, since every tutor arrives by road. Session length and the number of sessions a week change the per-hour figure. And a fixed term-long slot usually prices better than ad-hoc weeks. Ask any tutor to explain their figure against those five, and a reasonable quote becomes easy to recognise.

My child is in Year 9. Is it too early for IGCSE tuition?+

Year 9 is the best time, not the earliest. The content that decides a Year 11 grade is laid down in Year 9, and the tier entry for Core or Extended is often set at the end of that year on the strength of one assessment cycle. Fixing a weak foundation in Year 9 takes one subject and one session a week. Fixing the same gap in the January before the papers takes three subjects and a compromise. Parents who start early almost always spend less in total.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after a few sessions?+

Tell us and we replace the match. You are not locked into anything, there is no notice period, and you do not need a reason beyond it not fitting. The replacement is a fresh shortlist of two or three profiles with another free discovery call, not whoever happens to be available. We also ask what specifically went wrong, because pace, style and personality mismatches are different problems and the next shortlist should fix the actual one. Most replacements happen inside a week in Powai, since the local tutor pool along the Powai–JVLR corridor is reasonably deep.

Does online IGCSE tuition really work as well as home classes?+

For some students and some situations, yes, and it is worth being specific about which. Online works well for a self-managing Year 11 student doing short frequent sessions in mock season, and for scarce subjects where no local specialist exists. An IGCSE online tutor in Powai who is genuinely expert beats a nearby generalist. Online works less well for Year 9 students who need accountability more than explanation, because sessions drift and a parent ends up supervising. Most families here settle on hybrid: one home session weekly plus shorter online follow-ups.

Do I need to be at home during the session?+

Someone responsible should be in the flat, though they do not need to be in the room. Lessons belong in a shared space such as a dining area or a study with the door open, not a bedroom behind a closed door. That is standard practice and any professional tutor will expect it. Being within earshot occasionally is also useful for a different reason: in the first fortnight you learn a great deal about whether the tutor is diagnosing or lecturing just by overhearing ten minutes of it.

Which IGCSE subjects are hardest to find a tutor for in Powai?+

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are well covered within the Powai, Chandivali and Andheri East radius. Economics and Business are findable. The genuine scarcity is in the less commonly offered languages and in a few humanities at Extended tier, where the pool may be city-wide rather than local. For those we will say plainly whether a local match exists, and if it does not, we recommend online rather than sending you a nearby tutor who has not taught the specification.

How many sessions a week does an IGCSE student actually need?+

One session a week per subject is the normal starting point, and it is enough for most situations if the student does the work between sessions. Two becomes sensible in the term before the papers, or where a student is carrying a genuine content gap rather than a technique gap. Three sessions a week in one subject usually means something else is wrong, most often that the student is not working independently, and more tuition does not fix that. A good tutor will tell you to reduce rather than add.

Can one tutor cover more than one IGCSE subject?+

Sometimes, and it is worth being careful about when. A tutor who has genuinely taught Physics and Mathematics at IGCSE can often cover both well, since the overlap is real. A tutor offering all three sciences plus Mathematics plus Economics is a generalist, and at Extended tier a generalist is the wrong purchase. We would rather send you two specialists on different evenings than one person covering four subjects. The exception is Year 9, where a single strong tutor consolidating across two subjects often works fine.

Does IB Gram have a tie-up with Hiranandani Foundation School or Oberoi International School?+

No. IB Gram is an independent matching platform and we are not affiliated with Hiranandani Foundation School, Podar International School, Oberoi International School or any other school mentioned here. We name them because their calendars and board pathways are the context families in Powai live inside, and a tutor who knows that context schedules better. Anyone claiming an official relationship with a school in order to sell you tuition is misrepresenting it, and we do not guarantee grades either, because no platform honestly can.

What should I ask on the discovery call?+

Four questions, and the answers sort a shortlist fast. Which board and specification is my child on, asked to see whether it comes back immediately. What would you do in session one, where you want a diagnostic rather than a lesson plan. How will we know in four weeks whether this is working, where you want marks on timed questions, not confidence. And describe a student you could not help, which is the most revealing of the four. A tutor who answers that one honestly is usually the one to book.
