IGCSE Home Tutor in Vasai, Mumbai

Hiring an IGCSE home tutor in Vasai is not a one-month decision. Years 9 to 11 run as a single two-year block ending in one examination series, so the question is which tutor can hold a weekly slot on the Vasai–Virar belt for that whole stretch. Here is how families here make that stick.

Matched for the full Years 9 to 11 run, not one term at a time
Candidates must name the IGCSE board and mark scheme they last taught

Turning one IGCSE request in Vasai into a two-year arrangement

Most tutoring enquiries are written as though the problem is this month. An IGCSE request is different, because Year 9 feeds Year 10 and Year 10 decides what Year 11 can repair, and the examination series at the end does not move for anybody. So the first thing we ask a family in Vasai is not which chapter is hard. It is which calendar year the child sits the final papers. From that one answer, the matching works backwards: how many terms are left, which subjects can still be rebuilt from the ground up, and which ones now need a tutor who will teach exam technique rather than content.

The second question is geography, and on this belt it filters harder than qualifications do. Candidates give us their own home station before they give us their subject list. A tutor living in Vasai, Nallasopara or Naigaon can keep a Thursday evening for two years. One commuting up from Kandivali cannot, whatever they say in the first week, and we would rather tell you that now than let an arrangement die in the middle of Year 10. Where the belt has nobody free for a scarce subject, we say so and offer the online route instead of filling the slot with a generalist. Demand for IGCSE home classes in Vasai is steady all year, while the number of tutors willing to ride north in peak hour is not, and that imbalance rather than any shortage of qualified people is why an IGCSE tutor Mumbai parents could book in an afternoon in Santacruz takes a week here.

What arrives in your inbox is a small set of profiles with the things that actually predict a two-year fit: which board they have taught, whether they have taken a cohort through a full final series, how many evenings a week they still have free, and the travel they are signing up for. We do not send ten names. A long list for this stretch of Mumbai means most of the people on it have not checked a timetable, and sorting through them becomes your work rather than ours.

Across all IB and IGCSE subjects any tutor in Vasai lists, the register is grouped by board and stage first, because an excellent Year 11 physics specialist and an excellent Year 9 generalist are rarely the same person. Where a family needs two subjects covered, we usually propose two tutors rather than one, and say why.

  • 1. Tell us the year your child sits the final papers, not just the current class
  • 2. List subjects, and the tier if the school has already set it
  • 3. We filter by home station first, then by board and stage experience
  • 4. One paid trial session, built around a past paper question your child has seen
  • 5. A written plan running to the next set of mocks, not to next week

Core or Extended: which IGCSE tier is your child actually sitting?

Ask the school this week, in writing, because half the families who call us are not certain. Cambridge International Education offers several subjects at two tiers, usually described as Core and Extended, and the tier decides which papers a student sits and the range of grades available to them. Pearson Edexcel structures its International GCSE differently again, with Foundation and Higher papers in some subjects. A tutor who does not know which tier your child is entered for is preparing them for the wrong paper, and that mistake is invisible until a mock comes back with marks nobody can explain.

The tier conversation is also where honest advice earns its fee. Moving a student from Extended to Core can protect a grade and cut a term of misery; it can also close off a subject they will need later. The right call depends on what else is in the timetable, how much time is left, and whether the gap is in understanding or in exam execution. That is a judgement to make with the subject teacher and the examinations officer, with a tutor who has seen both papers contributing an opinion rather than a verdict. Nobody outside the school can enter a child for a tier.

Treat any structural detail you read online with suspicion, including on this page. Cambridge and Edexcel revise syllabuses on their own cycles, and papers, coursework routes and grading scales have all changed within recent cohorts. The documents that matter are the syllabus for your child's examination year, published by the board, and the school's own entry and deadline sheet. A competent IGCSE tutor asks for both in week one and then plans from them. One who teaches from a photocopied set of notes with no year printed on it is teaching a syllabus that may no longer exist.

One more piece of groundwork: find out which series the school is entering students for and whether any subject is being examined early. Families on the Vasai–Virar belt often discover a language paper sits a full series ahead of everything else, which changes the whole revision order. A parent typing all IB and IGCSE subjects IGCSE Years 9-11 tutor Mumbai into a search box is usually after one person for the whole two-year run, and here that is worth asking for explicitly rather than assuming.

  • Confirm the tier in writing with the school before any tutoring plan is built
  • Cambridge Core and Extended, and Edexcel Foundation and Higher, are not interchangeable
  • A tier change protects a grade but can close later subject options
  • Work from the syllabus for your child's examination year, not old notes
  • Check whether any subject is entered for an earlier series

Subject by subject, what an IGCSE tutor in Vasai is for

In Mathematics, the subject code most Vasai families see on the entry sheet is 0580, and the failure pattern is almost always the same: algebra learned as a set of recipes rather than as rules, so anything phrased unusually collapses. A tutor worth paying spends the first fortnight finding which rule is missing and rebuilding it, not working through the textbook from page one. In the sciences the written papers reward precision of language more than cleverness, and the practical assessment, whether taken as a laboratory paper or as the alternative-to-practical route, is where marks go missing quietly. Students lose them for describing a result instead of identifying a variable, or for a graph drawn without thought about scale.

English is two different subjects depending on which course your child is on. First Language work rewards controlled writing and close reading of a passage; Second Language work rewards accuracy and comprehension under time pressure. Being fluent in conversation does not carry a student through either, which surprises many parents in Mumbai whose children speak English all day at school. In Geography and History the marks live in source handling and in answering the command word, so a student who writes three paragraphs of accurate content can still score poorly. Business Studies and Economics punish vagueness: a definition, an applied example and a judgement, in that order, is most of the technique.

Where coursework forms part of a subject, the tutor's job changes shape. They cannot write it, touch it, or supply the data, and any tutor who offers to is a problem for your child rather than a help. What they can legitimately do is teach the skill the task assesses, mark a practice version of the same genre, and get the work started early enough that the school's internal deadline is not a crisis. For Vasai families with a long school commute, starting coursework early is worth more than any amount of last-fortnight effort.

We list all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Vasai parents ask about, but we will also tell you when a request is better served online. A single-subject specialist for a scarce language or for Additional Mathematics is unlikely to be living two streets from you. Where that happens, the sensible plan is online lessons for the scarce subject and home tuition for the ones with a local pool, rather than forcing both into one arrangement.

  • Mathematics 0580: rebuild the missing algebra rule before touching past papers
  • Sciences: most lost marks are language and graph technique, not knowledge
  • First Language and Second Language English reward different skills entirely
  • Geography and History: source handling and the command word carry the marks
  • A tutor teaches the coursework skill; they never touch the coursework itself

Which parts of the Vasai–Virar belt a single tutor can hold

Think of this corridor as one line with a handful of stops rather than as separate suburbs. Vasai Road sits in the middle, with Nallasopara and Virar above it and Naigaon, Bhayandar and Mira Road below. A tutor who lives anywhere on that line can usually reach two or three families in an evening, which is what makes a weekly slot financially sensible for them and therefore stable for you. A tutor who lives off the line, anywhere south of the Dahisar check naka, is doing one booking and a long ride, and that arrangement quietly becomes a Saturday or becomes online.

The last mile decides more than the distance does. West of the station, around Ambadi Road and Manickpur, buildings are close enough that a tutor walks or takes a short shared autorickshaw and is predictable to the minute. East of the tracks and out along Achole Road, the final stretch needs an auto at both ends and the time varies with traffic at the level crossing. When you enquire, name your building and the nearest landmark rather than only dropping a pin, because the shortlist changes depending on whether a tutor can stack your session with another nearby.

Bhayandar is the quiet pivot in this map. Tutors living there can take Mira Road and Vasai in the same week without ever using the Western Express Highway, which matters in the monsoon. Virar works the same way at the northern end. The pattern we avoid is the long cross-city match: the Western Suburbs stretch north and south, so matching along the Western Line holds and matching across it does not. Mumbai, Maharashtra is a city where a twelve-kilometre gap can mean fifteen minutes or an hour and a quarter, and nothing on a map tells you which.

IGCSE home tuition in Vasai therefore gets planned around the tutor's own line position first. It feels like a strange question when you are mainly worried about Year 10 chemistry, but it is the variable that decides whether the arrangement is still running next March. Parents who search for the best IGCSE tutor in Vasai and then choose purely on a profile learn this by month three: someone strong who is ten minutes away is worth more across two years than someone stronger an hour down the line.

  • One tutor can usually cover Vasai, Nallasopara and Virar in a single evening
  • Bhayandar-based tutors reach Mira Road and Vasai without touching the highway
  • West of the station, Ambadi Road and Manickpur are walkable and predictable
  • East of the tracks, Achole Road needs an autorickshaw leg at both ends
  • Name your building and a landmark; the last mile changes the shortlist

What the Mumbai school year does to a Year 10 timetable

Families here are commuting before they are studying. Children from Vasai travel south to campuses such as Singapore International School in Dahisar East and JBCN International School, Borivali, and that journey takes a serious bite out of the school week at both ends. A Year 10 student who leaves home early and returns in the late afternoon has a narrower usable evening than a classmate living in Kandivali, which is why sessions on this belt are shorter and later, and why Saturday mornings are worth more here than they are closer to town.

The academic shape of the Mumbai school year is reasonably predictable even when the dates are not. Teaching runs from the middle of the calendar year to the following spring, with a monsoon-season stretch of continuous assessment, a winter break, and then the heaviest term: mock examinations, coursework submission, and the run-in to the final series. For a Year 11 student, the mock results are the only honest early signal of where the grade is heading, and they arrive late enough that a family who waits for them has already lost most of their repair time. The sensible move is to book tutoring in the first term of Year 11, not after mocks.

Do not take any of those dates from us. Schools set internal deadlines well ahead of the board's, and they differ between campuses. Ask the examinations officer for the entry list and the internal submission dates, and ask the subject teacher what has actually been covered rather than what the scheme of work says. Naming a school on this page is context about where local children study and nothing else: IB Gram is an independent platform with no affiliation to Singapore International School, to JBCN International School, Borivali, or to any other school mentioned here, and a tutor on our register never represents a school.

One practical habit helps more than any revision app. Keep a single sheet on the fridge with each subject's next assessed task and its school deadline. Tutors arriving into a Vasai household in Year 10 routinely find that nobody, including the student, knows what is due in nine days.

  • A long southbound school commute shortens the usable evening in Vasai
  • Saturday mornings are worth more here than in suburbs closer to town
  • Book in the first term of Year 11; waiting for mock results burns repair time
  • Ask the examinations officer for entries and internal submission dates
  • IB Gram has no affiliation with any school named on this page

Why IGCSE home tuition in Vasai usually starts as an online booking

In-person teaching at your dining table is the service most parents on this belt want, and it is what we lead with. The honest sequence, though, is usually the other way round. A weekday IGCSE home tutor in Vasai is genuinely hard to staff, because most subject specialists in the Western Suburbs live well south of the creek and a Vasai booking costs them an evening rather than an hour. Families who hold out for in-person only often spend three or four weeks unmatched, in a two-year course where three or four weeks is real. Families who start online get a specialist immediately and add sessions at the dining table as the final series comes closer.

There are parts of Year 10 and Year 11 where being in the room is worth the scheduling fight. Handwriting speed and legibility under time pressure cannot be assessed over a video call, and in a written examination they are marks. Diagram work in the sciences, construction and loci in mathematics, and anything requiring a ruler go better with a tutor watching the page. A student who cannot resist a second browser tab needs a person beside them. And in the final term, sitting a full paper to time with someone collecting it at the end is a different experience from doing it alone in a bedroom.

Online earns its place on the other side of the ledger. It removes the travel problem entirely, which on this corridor is the single biggest cause of arrangements collapsing. It opens the register to specialists anywhere in Mumbai, so a scarce subject becomes bookable. It survives a flooded July evening. The real costs are that a tired fifteen-year-old hides more easily behind a screen, that the tutor cannot see what the pen is doing unless the student photographs the page, and that younger or less organised students drift without an adult in the house paying attention for the first ten minutes.

The arrangement most Vasai families converge on by the second month is two online sessions midweek and one longer in-person block at the weekend, with the in-person share rising through Year 11. It is worth setting that expectation at the start rather than treating the online phase as a disappointment. In practice an IGCSE online tutor in Vasai and an IGCSE home tutor in Vasai are often the same person on different days, and booking them that way from the beginning saves a renegotiation in Year 11, when home tuition is suddenly the part you need most.

  • Start online, add in-person blocks as the final series approaches
  • Handwriting speed, diagrams and ruler work need a tutor in the room
  • Online opens scarce subjects across Mumbai and survives monsoon evenings
  • Expect the tutor to ask for photographed working, not just answers
  • Most families settle on midweek online plus one weekend in-person block

What should you ask before an IGCSE home tutor in Vasai gets your address?

Ask four questions and you will learn more than any profile tells you. Which board, Cambridge or Edexcel, did you last teach this subject for. Which examination series did your last cohort sit. Which mark scheme do you work from, and can you describe how it awards marks on a six-mark question. What would you do in the first session. The answers are either specific or they are not, and a tutor who talks about building confidence without naming a paper has not taught the course recently. An IGCSE home tutor in Vasai who cannot answer those four is not short of charm; they are short of the thing you are buying.

On our side, every tutor has submitted photo identification and evidence of the qualification they claim, and has given a year-by-year account of the boards, subjects and stages they have taught. Claims about school employment are recorded as their own work history. Where someone says they have prepared students for a final series, we ask which one and in which subject. None of that replaces your own phone call, and we would rather you made it before the first visit than after the third.

Be wary of a tutor who promises a specific grade, or who talks about a guaranteed result in a first conversation. No honest tutor offers a guaranteed grade for an examination they do not mark, and the ones who do tend to be the ones who stop answering the phone in February. Treat heavy discounting for a large upfront block the same way. An IGCSE private tutor Vasai families find informally through a neighbour may be very good, but nobody has checked the certificate, and there is no record of what was agreed if sessions start getting shorter.

Then the ordinary safeguards. Pay through the platform so attendance and cancellations are documented. Keep the first sessions in a room an adult walks through. Expect identification at the gate and a signature in the visitors register. Raise a problem in the week it happens, because a tutor swap in September is free and a tutor swap in January is expensive in the only currency that matters here, which is time.

  • Ask which board, which series, which mark scheme, and what session one covers
  • Photo ID and qualification evidence are checked before a profile is listed
  • Be wary of a tutor who promises a specific grade or a guaranteed result
  • Informal hires are unchecked and undocumented; keep payment on the platform
  • Raise a mismatch the same week, not at the end of the term

Is a weekly 7pm slot in Vasai realistic for two whole years?

It is realistic if the tutor lives on the belt, and fragile if they do not. That is the whole answer, and everything else is detail. A tutor from Virar or Nallasopara arriving for seven o'clock has a short predictable trip and will still be there in week sixty. A tutor coming up from Borivali or Kandivali is on a crowded local in the peak direction, standing, and the arrangement depends on their goodwill rather than on their diary. Goodwill is not a scheduling system. Over two years it will be tested by a new job, a shifted college timetable or simply a better-paid booking ten minutes from their own flat.

The things that actually break a long arrangement on this Mumbai corridor are worth naming, because most of them can be planned for. The tutor relocates, which happens more often with younger tutors than families expect. Their own examinations, if they are studying alongside teaching, swallow a term. The family travels for a fortnight and the slot is quietly given away. School examination leave removes three weeks and nobody discusses what happens next. The monsoon turns the Vasai Road approach into a slow crawl and two cancelled evenings become a habit. None of these are dramatic; all of them end arrangements.

What keeps one alive is unglamorous administration. Agree a monsoon rule in June: during a washout week the session happens online at the same hour instead of being cancelled. Agree what happens during study leave before it starts, since that is often when the most useful work is available. Keep a short shared note of what was covered each week, which means a replacement tutor can pick up mid-course instead of starting again. Tell your gate once that the same person comes every Tuesday, and the first-visit register, the call upstairs and the lift at seven in the evening stop costing ten minutes of the lesson.

The first visit itself deserves a little preparation. The tutor will be stopped at the gate, asked which flat, and asked to write a name in a book, so somebody at home should be expecting them. Inside, the usable space is almost always the dining table with the television off, not a bedroom desk pushed against a window. A plug point within reach matters, since past papers now live on a tablet. On the creek side of Vasai the mosquitoes arrive on the same schedule as the tutor. Get those five things right in week one and they never come up again for the rest of the two years.

  • A belt-resident tutor survives two years; a cross-city one usually does not
  • Plan for relocation, study leave, family travel and washout weeks in advance
  • Keep a shared weekly note so a replacement can start mid-course
  • Tell the gate once about a standing weekly visit and save ten minutes a week
  • Dining table with the television off, and a plug point within reach

How fast should Year 10 marks move, and what if they do not?

In the first month, expect diagnosis rather than improvement. A tutor who has used four sessions well can tell you exactly which topics are missing, show you a piece of your child's work with specific corrections on it, and explain what the next block of sessions will attack. If the only report after a month is that your child is more confident, you have bought company rather than teaching. Ask for one marked piece and one sentence on the next target. The answer arrives quickly from someone who has been paying attention.

By the end of a term the signal moves to school assessments and to how work gets finished. In Year 10 the realistic markers are fewer careless losses on familiar question types, written answers that address the command word, and a student who starts a long task before the week it is due. In Year 11 the honest test is the mock series, and the useful conversation after mocks is not about the overall grade but about where the marks were lost: timing, technique, or genuine gaps. Those three have completely different fixes, and a tutor who cannot separate them after a mock paper is guessing.

Over a full examination cycle, the most reliable change is in timing under pressure, and marks tend to follow that rather than lead it. A term where habits improved and the grade stayed flat is usually a term that worked, though it does not feel like one. A term where nothing changed in either is a signal to change the match quickly.

The limits need saying in plain words. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and no tutor can, because none of us mark the papers. A two-year course cannot be rebuilt in the final eight weeks, however good the tutor, and a student who does nothing between sessions will not improve. Cancelled slots are the quiet killer: twice a month and there is no arrangement, just occasional help. What we can do is match a checked specialist who lives close enough to keep the commitment, be straight with you about what is staffable on this belt, and replace a tutor fast when the fit is wrong. A family who understands why home tuition is scarce this far up the Western Line makes better decisions than one promised a Tuesday that was never deliverable.

  • Month one is diagnosis: named gaps, marked work, a plan for the next block
  • Year 10 progress shows up as fewer careless losses and earlier starts
  • After mocks, separate timing, technique and real gaps before deciding anything
  • Flat grades with improved habits is usually a term that worked
  • IB Gram does not guarantee grades, and the final eight weeks cannot rebuild two years

Booking the first home classes week in Vasai

Four things make the first week productive, and all of them already exist in your house. The school's subject entry or option sheet, which tells a tutor the board and the tier rather than leaving them to guess. The most recent report or assessment feedback. The term calendar with internal deadlines on it. And two or three past papers or practice questions your child has already attempted, mistakes included, because a wrong answer tells a tutor more in two minutes than a report card does in a page. Send those with the enquiry and your shortlist will be built on evidence.

The trial session should look like an examination post-mortem, not a lecture. Expect the tutor to put a question in front of your child, watch how it is approached, and interrupt only where the thinking goes wrong. Expect questions about what the school has covered and what the next assessed task is. Expect ten minutes at the end, with you present, describing in plain language what they found, what they will target first, and roughly how long that will take. If any of that is missing, say so before you book a second session rather than hoping it improves.

A few Vasai-specific details to settle before the first visit. Confirm which side of Vasai Road you are on and the nearest landmark, since the last few hundred metres are where time is lost on this belt. Tell the watchman the day before. Decide the day and hour you want to keep for two years rather than for this month, and protect it. Agree what happens on a flooded evening in July. Nobody is a home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai families ask for, so name the two subjects that matter most and we will staff those properly first. Then send one message with the year group, the subjects, the examination year and your two workable evening windows, and we will tell you honestly what the belt can staff.

  • Send the entry or option sheet, recent feedback, the term calendar and attempted papers
  • Expect a diagnostic trial session and a ten-minute summary for you at the end
  • Pick the weekly slot you can protect for two years, not just this term
  • Give your side of Vasai Road and a landmark, not only a map pin
  • Settle the monsoon rule and the gate entry before week one
FAQs

Vasai tutoring — questions parents ask

Will the same tutor stay with us from Year 9 to the final papers?+

That is the aim, and it is why we match on availability as hard as on subject knowledge. Continuity matters more in a two-year course than almost anything else, because a replacement spends weeks relearning what the student already knows. We ask candidates to commit to a weekly slot for at least a term at a time, and we prefer tutors living on the Vasai–Virar belt precisely because their commitment survives. Where a tutor does have to stop, the shared weekly notes mean the next one starts from where you are rather than from the first chapter.

Can a tutor travel up to Vasai twice a week for two years?+

Twice a week in person is realistic from the belt itself and optimistic from anywhere south of Dahisar. A tutor in Nallasopara, Virar, Naigaon or Bhayandar can do it and often teaches two families in the same evening, which keeps the arrangement worth their time. Someone coming from Borivali or Andheri is spending more of the evening travelling than teaching, and that pattern rarely survives a full year. The usual solution is one in-person session plus one online, which gives you twice-weekly contact without depending on the peak-hour local train. Families who want home classes twice a week every week should be looking for a tutor who already lives between Bhayandar and Virar.

What pushes IGCSE tuition fees in Vasai up or down?+

Five things, and no honest tutor quotes a rate before knowing them. The board and the stage, since final-year work with examination technique is priced differently from Year 9 support. The tier, because Extended and Higher papers need a stronger specialist. Subject scarcity, which is the main reason a language or Additional Mathematics tutor costs more than a mathematics generalist. Travel, which is a genuine cost on this corridor and the reason in-person rates here sit above online ones. And session length and frequency. Ask for the figure broken into those parts, and treat a flat rate quoted in the first message with caution.

Our building uses a visitor app. How do we get a tutor cleared for a weekly evening slot?+

Register the tutor once as a recurring expected visitor and the problem disappears for the term. On a first visit the watchman will ask who they are visiting, take a name and flat number, and may call upstairs, so allow a few extra minutes at seven o'clock. Tutors on the register carry photo identification and expect to show it. If your society requires a pre-approval each time, send the tutor's name to your committee or gate office with the day and hour, and ask for it to be recorded as a standing entry rather than a one-off.

Core or Extended: can a tutor help us decide?+

They can give you an informed opinion, but the decision belongs to the school. A tutor who has taught both papers can tell you what the harder tier demands week by week, whether the gap in front of your child is understanding or execution, and how much of it is realistically closable in the time left. The subject teacher and the examinations officer hold the entry decision and the deadline for making it. Ask your school when that deadline falls, because families on this belt sometimes discover it has passed while they were still gathering opinions.

Does the tutor need to know Cambridge and Edexcel, or just our board?+

Just yours, taught properly, beats both taught vaguely. The syllabuses cover similar ground but the papers, mark schemes and command words differ enough that technique learned for one does not transfer cleanly. If your child is entered with Cambridge International Education, ask for someone who has recently prepared students for that board's papers in that subject. A tutor comfortable with both is useful in a household where siblings sit different boards, which happens in Vasai as often as anywhere in Mumbai, but it is never a substitute for current experience of the one your child is actually sitting.

We live in Nallasopara rather than Vasai. Does that change the shortlist?+

Barely, and sometimes it improves it. Nallasopara sits between Vasai and Virar on the same stretch of the Western Line, so the same pool of tutors covers all three, and a tutor living in Virar may reach you faster than they reach a family in Vasai West. The same applies to Naigaon, Bhayandar and Mira Road going south. What changes is the last mile: tell us your building and the nearest landmark so a tutor can judge the autorickshaw leg before agreeing to a weekly slot.

My son writes slowly by hand. Does online tutoring help that or hide it?+

Online hides it unless the tutor insists on seeing the page, so make that part of the arrangement. Written examinations reward students who can produce legible, structured work at speed, and a child who types their answers for a year will not have practised that. Workable compromises exist: the student writes by hand during the session and photographs each page, or timed written practice is reserved for the in-person block at the weekend. Any tutor who only ever sees typed answers cannot tell you whether handwriting speed is costing marks, which in Year 11 it often is.

What should we do if the Year 11 mocks go badly?+

Get the papers themselves, not just the grades, and work out where the marks went. Mock results are the most useful information you will get all year, and they usually show one of three problems: the student ran out of time, the technique was wrong, or the content was never learned. Each has a different fix and a different timescale. A tutor who reads the scripts can tell you which it is within a session. The worst response is a general increase in revision hours, which tends to reinforce whatever the student was already doing badly.

How do sessions work during school study leave or examination leave?+

Decide before it starts, because it is the single most valuable block of time in the two years and most families waste it. During study leave the student is at home in the daytime, so a longer daytime session becomes possible and a tutor on the belt can often do it. The work should be timed full papers with feedback, not new content. Agree in advance whether your weekly evening slot moves to a morning, how many sessions you want, and what happens on paper days. Left undiscussed, the slot usually just lapses.

Can two children in the same home share one tutor?+

Only if they are close in stage and subject, and usually it is a false economy. Two Year 10 students doing the same subject can share a session productively, since they can be set the same paper and compared. A Year 9 and a Year 11 cannot: the Year 11 needs examination technique and the Year 9 needs foundations, and the tutor ends up teaching neither properly. Where the gap is wide, the better arrangement is back-to-back shorter sessions with the same tutor on one visit, which keeps the travel cost down without diluting either child's hour.
