How do we find an IGCSE home tutor in Godrej Platinum who fits your week?

We start with the syllabus code, not the subject name. Two children in Godrej Platinum can both say they need help with Physics and be sitting different papers under different specifications, and a tutor matched on the word alone will spend three weeks teaching the wrong emphasis. So the first question is which board your school runs, which code appears on your child's exercise book or report, and whether the entry is Core or Extended. The second question is your week: which two evenings exist after the bus, the swimming, and the homework that has to be done regardless.

Only then do we look at people. A match for IGCSE home tuition in these towers is drawn first from tutors who can reach Vikhroli station on the Central Line, because that is the pool that stays reliable from June to March. Tutors who travel by train to Godrej Platinum then walk in through the township are a different proposition from tutors driving across the Eastern Express Highway, and the difference shows up in punctuality long before it shows up in results.

You receive two or three profiles, no more. Each states the board and codes that person has taught, whether they have marked, the tiers they are comfortable entering students for, and the evenings they already work in this part of Mumbai. You call the one you prefer and ask your own questions. An IGCSE home tutor in Godrej Platinum becomes a standing weekly booking only after a first paid session, because a free demo rewards whoever performs best in an hour, and performing is not teaching.

IB Gram is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with Hiranandani Foundation School, with NES International School, or with any other school named on this page, and we do not guarantee grades. Nothing here should be read as a claim about outcomes. What is in our control is whether the person who walks into your flat has genuinely taught the specification your child is entered for, and how fast we act when they have not worked out.

  • 1. Send the board, the syllabus code, the tier and the subject in one message
  • 2. Add the two evening windows your child can realistically keep every week
  • 3. We shortlist tutors who reach Vikhroli station and walk into the township
  • 4. You interview your preferred profile before any money changes hands
  • 5. Weekly home classes begin after one paid diagnostic session at your flat

Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE in Mumbai: Core, Extended and tier entry

Two different boards run International GCSE in Mumbai and families often do not know which one their school uses. Cambridge International Education and Pearson Edexcel both award an IGCSE, both are recognised by the same schools and universities, and their subject content overlaps heavily, but their papers are written by different people with different habits. A tutor who has taught one and read about the other will teach your child content accurately and examination technique badly, which is the harder of the two to detect from the outside.

Tiering is where the two boards get genuinely consequential. In several subjects a school enters a student for either a Core or an Extended route, and the ceiling of available grades differs between them. That decision is usually taken in Year 9 or early Year 10 on the strength of class performance, sometimes by a teacher who has known the child for one term. It is reversible in theory and awkward in practice, because the teaching groups split and the past papers a student practises on diverge. Getting a second, evidence-based opinion before the entry is submitted is the single most useful thing an IGCSE home tutor in Godrej Platinum does for a Year 9 family.

Within a subject, the components do different jobs. There are papers that reward recall and short structured answers, papers that reward extended reasoning, and in the sciences a practical or alternative-to-practical component that tests experimental thinking rather than content. Languages add listening, reading, writing and speaking components assessed separately. The names, the structures and the weightings are revised by both boards on their own cycles, so take the current specification from your school's examinations officer and never from a tutoring page. Bring that document to the first session and expect the tutor to read it.

This page stays inside IGCSE deliberately. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP) with its Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) split, the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) are a different request with a different sibling page for this address. The one place they meet is subject choice, because what a student does across all IB and IGCSE subjects across IGCSE Years 9-11 tutoring in Mumbai is what a Diploma coordinator reads when deciding who can carry three Higher Level sciences.

  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel overlap on content and diverge on paper style
  • Core and Extended entry caps the grades available, and it is set in Year 9
  • Sciences carry a practical or alternative-to-practical component, not just theory
  • Languages assess listening, reading, writing and speaking as separate components
  • Specifications change between cohorts, so work from your school's current document

Which IGCSE subjects does a Years 9 to 11 student actually need help with?

In this township the requests cluster in four places, and they arrive in a predictable order. Mathematics comes first, almost always in Year 9, and almost always because algebraic fluency never set properly in Year 8. Then the sciences, usually Physics and Chemistry together, when a student who was fine with descriptive Biology meets calculation and unit handling. Then English, late, when a strong reader starts losing marks on extended writing because nobody has taught them what the question is asking for. Economics and Business arrive last, in Year 11, from students who chose them expecting them to be easy.

Mathematics support that works looks narrower than parents expect. A tutor should spend the first fortnight on factorising, rearranging formulae, indices and simultaneous equations under time, because those four things carry most of the marks lost in the rest of the paper. Topic coverage can wait. A student who cannot rearrange a formula cleanly will fail Physics questions that have nothing to do with their Physics. That is why an IGCSE home tutor in Godrej Platinum who starts with a diagnostic rather than chapter one is worth more than one who starts teaching immediately.

In the sciences, the component that separates grades is rarely content. It is command words and the practical component. A student who writes a beautiful paragraph when the paper said calculate, or who describes a trend when asked to explain it, is losing marks they have genuinely earned, and the fix is mechanical rather than intellectual. For the practical or alternative-to-practical paper, what is being tested is whether the student can identify a variable, spot a source of error and read a method critically, which is a trainable skill and one most school labs do not have time to drill.

Scarcity in Mumbai is subject-specific and predictable. Economics, Business, Computer Science and the less common second languages have fewer specialists, which means fewer evening options and a longer wait, not weaker teaching. Mathematics, English, Biology and Chemistry have genuine depth, so a parent arranging all IB and IGCSE subjects tutoring in Godrej Platinum will usually have a real choice of three people for those and a take-it-or-leave-it slot for the others. Plan the scarce subject first and fill the common ones around it.

  • Year 9 Maths requests are almost always unfinished Year 8 algebra
  • Four skills carry the Maths paper: factorising, rearranging, indices, simultaneous equations
  • Weak formula rearranging shows up as a Physics problem, not a Maths one
  • Command words are mechanical marks: describe, explain, calculate, evaluate, compare
  • Economics, Business and Computer Science mean fewer slots and a longer wait

Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and Ghatkopar East: the realistic radius in Mumbai

A tutor matched to these towers will usually also be working in Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and Ghatkopar East, and the reason is the Central Line rather than any notion of a service area. Godrej Platinum sits inside the Godrej Vikhroli township, a green and low-density pocket immediately beside the station, which makes it one of the few addresses in Mumbai where a tutor without a car is not at a disadvantage. They get off at Vikhroli, walk in through the township gate, and arrive unaffected by whatever the Eastern Express Highway is doing that evening.

That single fact changes the economics of the match. Everywhere else in the Central Suburbs a tutor prices travel time into the arrangement, consciously or not, and the longest commute is the first slot they drop when their schedule tightens. Here the last leg is a walk, so tutors living anywhere between Ghatkopar and Mulund can hold a Tuesday evening through the monsoon. Home tuition across this corner of Mumbai is more durable than the map suggests, and the durability is the product, not a bonus.

Powai is the instructive contrast and it is close enough to matter. The Central Suburbs sit on the Central Line and the Eastern Express Highway with Powai and Chandivali hanging off JVLR in between, and Powai is the odd one out because it is physically central and has no station of its own. Tutors reach it by road from Andheri East, Kanjurmarg or Ghatkopar, which is why a Powai family and a Godrej Platinum family asking for the same Physics specialist will get very different answers about Thursday at seven. Metro Line 1 between Ghatkopar and Andheri and the Santacruz–Chembur Link Road widen the pool further, but only for tutors willing to travel at the wrong hour.

Practically, ask every candidate two questions: which station they are coming from, and whether they are walking in or driving in. A tutor who says Kanjurmarg and walking is describing an arrangement that will survive February. A tutor who says they will drive from Andheri East via JVLR is describing a good intention. Neither answer is disqualifying, but they should be priced and scheduled differently, and the earlier slot should go to whoever has the longer journey.

  • Vikhroli station is a walk from the township gate, so no car is needed
  • Tutors from Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar East and Mulund hold slots through the monsoon
  • Powai has no station, so its tutors arrive by road off JVLR instead
  • Metro Line 1 and the SCLR widen the pool but only at off-peak hours
  • Give the earlier home classes slot to the tutor with the longer journey

The Mumbai school calendar that sets IGCSE pressure months in Godrej Platinum

Children from these towers go out to a short list of schools, and it is their calendars rather than the examination boards that decide when tutoring becomes hard to arrange. Hiranandani Foundation School at Powai and NES International School at Mulund West are the two that recur most for families at this address, with JBCN International School, Chembur and Bombay Cambridge International School at Andheri East also in the pattern. They are named as local context only. IB Gram has no relationship with any of them and nothing here implies one.

The hard months are consistent. The fortnight after the October break brings Year 11 mock results, and a family that was comfortable in September suddenly wants three subjects covered at once, competing with every other family in the Central Suburbs for the same Physics specialist. December into January is when coursework and portfolio deadlines land, where a school runs them. From February the May series is close enough that experienced tutors are fully committed, and a parent starting then is choosing from whoever is left. A home tutor booked in July is a straightforwardly better experience than the same search in November.

The school run also sets the earliest workable hour, and the township helps here. A child dropped at the township entrance walks home rather than waiting for a second leg, so a session at half past four is genuinely possible for younger IGCSE students in a way it is not in Powai or Ghatkopar East. Families who use that window get the first pick of tutors, because an early slot is the one every tutor wants and almost nobody can offer. Children on a later bus or with two co-curricular evenings have three usable days, and we need to know which three before matching rather than after.

One more calendar nobody writes down: the examination weeks of an older sibling. When a Year 12 student needs the quiet room, the Year 9 student loses their desk. Godrej Platinum families have an option most of Mumbai lacks, which is a clubhouse study area inside the complex, and moving the younger child's session there for three weeks is far better than cancelling it. Agree that fallback with the tutor in advance, not on the evening it is needed.

  • Hiranandani Foundation School and NES International School recur most at this address
  • Post-October mock results create the year's worst scramble for specialists
  • December and January stack coursework deadlines before the May series run-up
  • The walk-in school drop makes a four thirty start genuinely workable here
  • Agree the clubhouse study area as a fallback before a sibling's exam weeks

IGCSE home tuition, online or hybrid inside a township address

Home tuition leads here, and in a township with a station at the gate it leads by more than it does elsewhere. A tutor in the room sees what a webcam hides: the second phone, the past-paper file that was never opened, the handwriting that deteriorates in the last fifteen minutes of a timed question. IGCSE home tuition in Godrej Platinum also fixes the attendance problem, because a session someone has travelled for is a session nobody cancels on a whim. For a Year 9 or Year 10 student who still needs an adult physically present to stay on task, that is the entire case and it is not close.

Online earns its place in two situations and it is worth being precise about them. The first is a scarce subject: an IGCSE online tutor in Godrej Platinum may be the only way to reach someone who has actually marked Computer Science or Economics papers, because the in-person pool is limited to whoever can be at Vikhroli on a Thursday. The second is the monsoon, when a seven o'clock start in the Central Suburbs becomes a gamble. The honest limit is the student: online is the wrong choice for a Year 9 who cannot sit alone with one problem for ten minutes, and better software does not change that.

Hybrid is where most families here end up by the second term, and it is a deliberate split rather than a compromise. The in-person session carries the diagnostic work, the marking conversation and any decision about tier or subject choice. The online session carries drill, timed past papers and quick clarification before a class test. It keeps the relationship close enough that a tutor will hold the slot through February and light enough on travel that they are not quietly resenting it. Most IGCSE home classes in these towers start as weekly in-person and acquire the second online session when mock season arrives.

One rule applies in every mode: a written note after each session, three lines, what was covered and what was set. It is the only evidence you will have when you sit down at week four to decide whether this is working, and it converts a vague sense that things are better or worse into something you can check. Families who keep the notes have a precise argument. Families who do not have a feeling, and a feeling is not enough to justify a term.

  • In-person sessions expose the second phone and the unopened past-paper file
  • Online reaches marked specialists in Economics, Business and Computer Science
  • Monsoon evenings are the strongest practical case for an online fallback
  • Hybrid: diagnostics and marking in person, drill and timed papers online
  • Three written lines after every session, in any mode, without exception

What is checked before a tutor walks into Godrej Platinum?

Two sets of checks, and the second one is yours. Before any profile reaches you, IB Gram verifies identity against a government photo document, tests the board and syllabus claims against the person's actual teaching or marking record, and takes references from families they have taught elsewhere in Mumbai. We also log which stations they travel from and on which days, because a tutor who has overstated their reach does not announce it: they simply begin arriving late in week five. A home tutor in Mumbai whose logged radius matches their real one is the difference between a term that holds and one that drifts.

Your own check takes one phone call and three questions. Ask which syllabus code they last taught and in which year. Ask which paper their students lose most marks on, and why. Ask them to describe a student they could not help. Someone who has really taught Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel answers the second question instantly and with irritation, because they have watched it happen. Someone who has not will answer in generalities. No honest tutor offers a guaranteed grade, and a candidate who discusses outcomes before seeing a single piece of your child's marked work is telling you about their sales process.

Entry protocol matters more in a township than in a standalone building, so settle it in week one. The security desk at the township entrance needs the tutor's name, phone number, your tower and your flat before the first visit, and a standing weekly entry is worth asking for rather than a fresh visitor slip every Tuesday. Tell the tutor which gate to use and which tower to walk to, because a landscaped low-density layout is pleasant to live in and genuinely confusing on a first visit after dark. Parents arranging IGCSE private tuition in Godrej Platinum for the first time lose a quarter of session one to exactly this.

Keep the teaching visible. The dining table, or any room with the door open, is correct for a school-age student, and a tutor who would rather it were otherwise should be declined immediately and reported to us. You do not need to sit in: a teenager with a parent watching performs worse, and so does the tutor. Being in the flat and within earshot is the right position, and reading the session note afterwards tells you more than an hour of hovering ever will.

  • Photo identity, verified board and marking history, references from Mumbai families
  • Travel stations logged by day, because an overstated radius surfaces as lateness
  • Ask for the syllabus code, the worst-marked paper, and a student they failed
  • Register a standing weekly entry at the township security desk in week one
  • Name the gate and the tower: a low-density layout confuses first-time visitors

Core or Extended: the Year 9 decision that shapes everything after it

The Core or Extended entry is the most consequential decision of the IGCSE years and it is usually made with the least evidence. A school proposes a tier on the strength of class tests taken in a group of thirty, sometimes after one term with the student. Core is a legitimate route and the right one for plenty of children. What makes it dangerous is that it is chosen for the wrong reason: not because the evidence points there, but because a student had a weak term, or because a parent was told it would reduce pressure. The pressure arrives later instead, in Year 12.

The evidence that actually predicts coping with Extended Mathematics is narrow and testable in forty minutes. Can the student factorise without hesitation, rearrange a formula with a fraction in it, handle negative and fractional indices, and solve a pair of simultaneous equations under time? Fluency on those four, not topic coverage, is the signal. A student who scores poorly on a test full of unfamiliar topics but handles all four fluently is an Extended candidate having a bad month. A student with the reverse profile is not, however many chapters they have revised.

Then look forward before you sign. Core closes down routes a Year 9 student has no reason to be thinking about yet: Higher Level Mathematics in the IB Diploma Programme, and the engineering and economics degree pathways that expect it, become a steep climb from a Core base. That is not an argument for pushing every child into Extended, which produces its own casualties. It is an argument for making the decision on a diagnostic rather than a mood, and for asking a tutor to produce that diagnostic in writing. Families arranging all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes in Godrej Platinum most often start precisely here, with one subject and one decision.

If the tier has already been set and you disagree, act in Year 10 rather than Year 11. Moving up means catching the content gap between the routes while there is still a year to do it, and that is a defined and finishable piece of work. In Year 11 the same move is a scramble that costs the student marks in every other subject. A parent looking for the best IGCSE tutor in Godrej Platinum for this particular job wants someone who has moved students between tiers before and will tell you honestly when the window has closed.

  • Tier entry is proposed by a school on limited evidence, often after one term
  • Fluency in factorising, rearranging, indices and simultaneous equations is the real signal
  • An unfamiliar-topic test score can hide an Extended candidate having a bad month
  • Core makes Higher Level Mathematics in the Diploma Programme a steep climb
  • Change tier in Year 10 if at all; in Year 11 the cost lands on every subject

Progress at four weeks, one term and one May series in Mumbai

Week four is a decision point and marks are not the thing to look at. Three signals matter. Your child can describe their weakness as a skill rather than a chapter, as in I lose marks when the question says evaluate rather than I am bad at Chapter 7. Starting homework has become less of a fight than it was. And the tutor volunteers, without being asked, the one error pattern they are currently working on. Three out of three means the match is working whatever the last test said. Zero out of three means ask for a replacement now, not in another month.

By the end of a term the marks should be moving, and they will move unevenly in a particular order. Accuracy comes first, because the mechanical errors are the easiest to fix. Speed follows, once the method is automatic. Composure under timed conditions comes last, and often appears only in the mocks. The sequence means a student can look stalled in month three while genuinely improving: the arithmetic slips are gone, so what is left are the harder marks, and those move slowly. Ask to see week one and week ten scripts side by side rather than accepting a summary.

Judge the full picture after a May series, honestly and without retrofitting. Some students gain a lot, some gain a little, and a few gain almost nothing because the limiting factor was never teaching: it was sleep, or a subject chosen to please someone, or a timetable no amount of IGCSE home tuition can absorb. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and will not publish figures implying a typical gain, because such a figure would be meaningless for your child. A tutor who promises a specific grade is quoting a target, not an assessment.

When it is not working, say so in plain terms and early. Tell us what specifically is wrong: the slot, the pace, the personality, the subject depth. We match again against that description, and the incoming tutor gets a handover note covering what has been diagnosed and what has been covered, so your child does not begin again from nothing. Families on a second tutor are entirely normal. Families who endured a bad match for a full term are the ones who tell us they wish they had called in week three.

  • Week four: a skill named, homework easier, one error pattern volunteered
  • Accuracy improves, then speed, then composure under timed conditions
  • A month-three plateau often means the easy marks are already recovered
  • Compare week one and week ten marked scripts rather than hearing a summary
  • Replacements arrive with a handover note on diagnosis and coverage

Booking IGCSE home classes in Godrej Platinum, Mumbai

Four things make the first session useful instead of introductory. The most recent marked paper with the marks and the teacher comments still on it. The board and syllabus code, from the report or the exercise book. Two evening windows your child can actually keep every week for a term. And one sentence from your child about what they find hardest, in their words rather than yours. That sentence is the most useful item on the list and the one most families leave out.

Expect the first session to be mostly diagnostic and to feel slightly unsatisfying. A good tutor spends it watching your child attempt work, because the error pattern only appears when the student is holding the pen. By the end they should be able to tell you what they are starting with and why, in language plain enough to repeat to the subject teacher at the next parent meeting. If session one was a lecture, say so before session two. Anyone arranging a home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects in Mumbai should expect that standard, and most tutors will respect being held to it.

After that the rhythm is dull by design: a fixed weekly slot, a three-line note each time, a review at week four, a longer one at the end of term. Keep the standing entry at the township security desk current so nobody loses ten minutes at the gate. And tell us the moment the slot stops fitting, because a time that no longer works is the most common reason a good arrangement quietly ends. Moving an hour is easy. Replacing a tutor who was teaching well is not, and we would rather do the first.

  • Bring the last marked paper with marks and teacher comments intact
  • Bring the board and syllabus code from the report or exercise book
  • Name two keepable evenings rather than one ideal evening
  • Expect a diagnostic first session, mostly watching your child work
  • Keep the township security desk entry standing and current
FAQs

Godrej Platinum tutoring — questions parents ask

How soon can an IGCSE home tutor start in Godrej Platinum?+

For Mathematics, English, Biology or Chemistry, usually inside a week, because the pool of tutors who can reach Vikhroli station is deep for those subjects and one more weekday slot is easy to absorb. For Economics, Business, Computer Science or a less common second language, expect two to three weeks for an evening that genuinely holds. If the subject is scarce and the timing is urgent, the quickest honest route is starting online with a specialist while we keep looking for the in-person match, rather than accepting a generalist and losing a month.

Can a tutor travel to Vikhroli for an evening slot without getting stuck in traffic?+

Yes, and this address is unusual in Mumbai for that reason. A tutor takes the Central Line to Vikhroli station, walks into the Godrej township and reaches your tower without touching the Eastern Express Highway at all. That is why most matches we make here come from Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar East, Vikhroli itself or Mulund rather than from Powai, which has no station and is reached by road off JVLR. Ask any candidate whether they are walking in or driving in, because the two answers predict very different punctuality in September.

What do IGCSE tuition fees in Godrej Platinum depend on?+

Five variables, and nobody can honestly quote a rate before knowing them: the board, the tier, how scarce that subject specialist is, how far the tutor travels, and how long the session runs. A tutor who has marked Extended Physics papers costs more per hour than a Year 9 Mathematics generalist, and a tutor spending forty minutes each way prices that time whether or not they itemise it. The walk-in access here helps, because travel cost is genuinely lower than in most of the Central Suburbs. Ask for the rate, the session length and the cancellation terms in a single message.

Does a tutor need a gate pass at the township security desk?+

Yes, and the version you want is a standing weekly entry rather than a new visitor slip each time. Give security the tutor's name, phone number, your tower and your flat number before the first visit, and tell the tutor which gate to use. Low-density landscaped layouts are genuinely disorienting on a first evening visit, so a tutor sent to the wrong tower loses the first fifteen minutes of a session you paid for. If the building changes its visitor protocol mid-year, pass that on rather than letting the tutor discover it at the desk.

Should my child take Core or Extended Mathematics?+

Decide it on a diagnostic rather than on last term's class rank. Ask a tutor to test four things under time: factorising, rearranging formulae containing fractions, negative and fractional indices, and simultaneous equations. Fluency there predicts coping with Extended far better than topic coverage does. Core is a perfectly good route for many students, but it makes Higher Level Mathematics in the IB Diploma Programme a steep climb later, so make the choice knowing that. If you want to move up a tier, do it in Year 10, not Year 11.

My child's school runs Pearson Edexcel. Does a Cambridge tutor still work?+

For content, largely yes; for examination technique, often not. The two boards cover similar material but their papers are set and marked by different people with different conventions about command words, mark allocation and what a full answer looks like. A tutor who has taught only Cambridge can still teach your child Chemistry well and still cost them marks on an Edexcel paper. Ask which board and which code the candidate last taught, in which year. If the answer is the wrong board, ask how they intend to handle the technique gap, and judge the answer.

What if there is no improvement after four weeks?+

Raise it at week four rather than week twelve. The first thing to establish is whether the problem is the match or the diagnosis, because sometimes the tutor is sound and the subject was never the real constraint: a student sleeping five hours with four co-curricular evenings does not need a sixth hour of Physics. If it is the match, we replace the tutor and the new one receives a handover note so nothing restarts. One change of tutor is ordinary and costs nothing. Tolerating a poor match for a second month is the decision families regret.

Is online tutoring good enough for a Year 11 sitting the May series?+

For a self-managing Year 11, online is strong for drill and past-paper work and genuinely better for annotating a script together on a shared screen. It is weaker for the things that decide grades in the last term: noticing the timing collapse on long-response questions, catching the student answering the question they hoped for, and reading the body language that says they are pretending to follow. The arrangement most Year 11 students here do best on is one in-person session for diagnosis and marking and one online session for timed practice.

Can we use the clubhouse study area instead of our flat?+

Often yes, and it is a sensible option during an older sibling's examination weeks or when the flat has only one quiet room. Check your complex's rules on resident guests using common areas first, because some require the resident to be present throughout and some restrict booking hours. Tell the tutor in advance rather than relocating on the evening, and keep the arrangement visible: a shared study room with other residents around is fine, an empty closed room is not. The flat remains the better default when it is available.

Do I need to be at home during the session?+

Be in the flat, not in the chair. A teenager taught in front of a watching parent performs worse and so does the tutor, so the useful position is nearby with the door open, close enough to hear that teaching is happening. Sitting in on the first session only is reasonable, mainly so you can see how the tutor responds when your child is stuck or irritable. After that, the three-line session note tells you more than observation does. A tutor who wants a closed door with a school-age student should be declined.

How does replacing a tutor work if my child has grown attached to them?+

Separate enjoyment from teaching, because they frequently point in opposite directions. A tutor your child likes who cannot name one specific error pattern after a month is pleasant company, and that is not what you are paying for. A tutor your child finds demanding but who is visibly fixing identifiable mistakes is usually worth keeping through the complaints. Look at marked work from week one against week four. If nothing checkable has changed, replace them, and tell us exactly what you want handled differently so the next match is not a coin toss.

Can one tutor cover three IGCSE subjects for the same child?+

Sometimes for Year 9, rarely well by Year 11. A capable generalist can hold Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together in the early years, when the content is shallow enough that strong teaching compensates. By Year 11 the specificity matters: the person who knows exactly how the extended-response marks are awarded in Chemistry is usually not the same person who knows it for Economics. Two tutors covering two subjects each beats one covering four. Ask every candidate which of your subjects they would decline, and treat a candidate who declines none with suspicion.
