IB Gram Reviews from Mumbai Parents

Parents searching for IB Gram reviews in Mumbai usually want one thing: proof that an IB home tutor sent to their flat will actually be any good. This page publishes no testimonials. It teaches you how to read tutoring reviews, what they cannot tell you, and which evidence to ask for instead before you book home tuition.

How does IB Gram turn an enquiry into a shortlist in Mumbai?

An enquiry becomes a shortlist in four moves. You describe the student. IB Gram filters tutors by board, subject, level and realistic travel to your address. You receive two or three profiles with the checks already done. You sit a trial session before anything is confirmed. Nothing is charged to see the shortlist, and no slot is booked until after the trial.

That sequence matters more than anything written about us, because it is the part you can inspect yourself. Most parents who look for IB Gram reviews in Mumbai are really asking whether the person who rings the doorbell on Tuesday evening will know the syllabus. A testimonial cannot answer that question. A profile that names the board, the exact subjects taught at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL), the years of each cohort taught and the localities the tutor already travels to can answer it, and you can test every line of it in the trial.

The filter stage is where most mismatches are prevented. A request for Physics for a Diploma Programme (DP) second-year student in Khar West is not the same request as Physics for a Middle Years Programme (MYP) Year 4 student in Chembur, even though both say Physics. Subject, programme, year and geography are four separate constraints, and we would rather send two profiles that satisfy all four than six that satisfy two and waste a fortnight of your evenings finding out.

If none of the shortlisted tutors suits you after the trial, say so and the shortlist is rebuilt. That is ordinary, and it costs you nothing but the trial. The commitment point is the standing weekly slot, not the enquiry. This is why we push every family to treat the trial as evidence rather than treating an agreed tutor as settled, and why the process above is written down instead of being summarised as a rating.

  • 1. Tell us board, year, subjects and your Mumbai locality, plus workable slot times
  • 2. We filter for subject match, level experience and honest travel to your address
  • 3. You get two or three profiles with verification notes, not a marketing blurb
  • 4. You choose one and sit a trial, with a parent at home if you prefer
  • 5. You confirm, switch tutor or stop, before any weekly slot is fixed

Why praise for a DP tutor says nothing about an MYP tutor

A review is attached to one programme, one level and one year, and it does not travel. The International Baccalaureate (IB) runs the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). MYP is criterion-marked and deliberately open-ended. DP is externally examined against a published syllabus on a fixed date. A tutor who is strong on MYP Individuals and Societies can be out of depth on DP History Paper 3.

The same split runs through the Cambridge route. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Maths is sat at Core or Extended tier, and the Extended papers reach content a Core-only teacher has never had to deliver. Cambridge International Education and Pearson Edexcel set different IGCSE papers for subjects with the same name, with different coursework rules, so a line about IGCSE English in a review could mean either board and either set of components.

Inside the DP, HL and SL are separate teaching jobs rather than two sizes of the same one. HL Maths Analysis and Approaches adds Paper 3, a long structured problem-solving paper with no SL equivalent. HL Biology carries additional content and a heavier Paper 2. HL Economics adds the quantitative policy paper. A tutor who has taken students through SL may never have prepared anyone for an HL Paper 3, and nothing in a short written recommendation will reveal that.

So when you read anything positive about a tutor, the first question is not how many people said it. It is which programme, which level, which year, and whether that student actually sat the exam. If the family cannot answer those four, the praise is about personality, which matters but is not subject competence. An IB home tutor in Mumbai should be able to state their programme and level history in a single sentence without being coached into it.

  • PYP and MYP are criterion-marked; DP and IGCSE end in external papers
  • IGCSE Maths splits into Core and Extended tiers with different content ceilings
  • Cambridge International Education and Pearson Edexcel set different papers per subject name
  • HL Maths and HL Economics add a Paper 3 that SL does not have
  • Ask which programme, level and exam year any recommendation refers to

What a subject review can and cannot tell you

Reviews describe people. Syllabuses describe work. Patient and punctual is genuinely useful information about a human being, and it tells you nothing about whether that person can mark a DP Biology Internal Assessment (IA) against its criteria, or steer a Maths Exploration towards personal engagement and a defensible method rather than towards length. The two kinds of information are not substitutes, and parents are routinely handed the first when they asked for the second.

Across all IB and IGCSE subjects, every tutor in Mumbai we introduce is matched to components rather than to a subject label. DP Maths Analysis and Approaches sits Paper 1 without a calculator and Paper 2 with one, which changes how you drill. DP Physics has Paper 1A multiple choice, Paper 1B data analysis and Paper 2 extended response. English Language and Literature has an unseen guided analysis in Paper 1, a comparative essay in Paper 2, an Individual Oral built around a global issue, and the HL Essay on top. IGCSE Physics ends with a practical or alternative-to-practical paper that rewards apparatus vocabulary most students never practise.

Subject choice across both boards is its own piece of work, and it is where a tutor earns their keep before any marks move. Dropping a subject from HL to SL in the first DP year, or moving from Extended to Core in IGCSE Maths, changes the assessment load and the university options in ways a family should decide with the coordinator, not in a panic in January. Each route also carries its own internal assessments: the sciences and Maths IAs, the Extended Essay (EE), the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) exhibition and essay, and the MYP Personal Project further down.

Instead of asking for reviews of a subject tutor, ask for a marked piece. Send one past paper answer or one IA paragraph, and ask the tutor to return it with the criterion named, the band they would award and one sentence on what the next band needs. That single exchange tells you more about subject depth than any volume of written praise, and it takes a competent teacher twenty minutes.

  • Component-level match: Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3, orals, practicals, coursework
  • HL versus SL and Core versus Extended change the content ceiling, not just difficulty
  • Every route carries internal assessments: IAs, the Extended Essay, TOK, Personal Project
  • Ask for one marked paragraph returned with criterion, band and next step
  • A subject label in a review hides which components the tutor has actually taught

Does a review from another part of Mumbai apply to your address?

Often it does not, because the binding constraint in Mumbai is travel rather than teaching. A warm account of weekday home tuition in Vashi says nothing about whether the same tutor can reach Colaba by half past six. Read every recommendation as a statement about one tutor, on one route, at one time of day, in one season. IB Gram works across Mumbai, Maharashtra, and the six zones below behave differently enough that a tutor who is reliable in one can be unworkable in another.

South Mumbai is short-distance and slow: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road and Worli are minutes apart on the map and much further apart at seven in the evening, with the Western Line running Churchgate to Grant Road and Mumbai Central, the Harbour Line to Dockyard and Sewri, Metro Line 3 from Cuffe Parade to BKC and the Coastal Road reshaping the western edge. The Western Suburbs run north to south along the Western Express Highway, the Western Line and Link Road, so matching along the line from Khar West to Santacruz West, or Malad to Kandivali, holds up far better than matching across it between Juhu, Andheri, Borivali and Dahisar, with Metro Line 1 running Versova to Ghatkopar and Metro Lines 2A and 7 covering Dahisar to Gundavali.

The Central Suburbs sit on the Central Line and the Eastern Express Highway, with Powai and Chandivali hanging off JVLR between Andheri East, Kurla, Ghatkopar and Mulund, and the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road doing the east-west work. Powai is the exception worth knowing: physically central, no station of its own, reached by road. The Eastern Suburbs stretch from Chembur and Govandi through Vikhroli and Bhandup, with the Eastern Freeway and the Monorail from Chembur to Wadala making the island city closer than the map suggests.

Navi Mumbai is planned in nodes, so Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel are each a short drive apart on Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, with the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines, the Navi Mumbai Metro from Belapur to Pendhar and the Atal Setu across the bay. Thane spreads from the station across Pokhran Road, Majiwada and Ghodbunder Road, and that stretch sets the timetable: Kasarvadavali is twenty minutes from the station off-peak and close to an hour in the evening peak. Node-to-node and corridor-to-corridor matching is why we ask for your locality before anything else.

What this means for reading reviews is simple. A family in Thane praising a tutor's punctuality is telling you that tutor solved the Ghodbunder Road problem, which is real and worth knowing. They are not telling you the tutor will solve the Sea Link or the Peddar Road problem for you.

  • South Mumbai: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Worli, Walkeshwar, matched within the island
  • Western Suburbs: Khar West, Santacruz West, Juhu, Andheri, Borivali, Dahisar along the line
  • Central Suburbs: Powai and Chandivali off JVLR, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Govandi, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Wadala via the Eastern Freeway
  • Navi Mumbai nodes: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Panvel on Palm Beach Road
  • Thane: Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Ghodbunder Road out to Kasarvadavali

The Mumbai school calendar sitting behind every review's date

The month a family writes about a tutor changes what they write. In July, with the school year fresh and the May session results just out, parents are generous. In February, after mock exams and with IA deadlines behind them, the same families are blunter and more precise. A review has a date on it, and the date is part of the evidence. Nobody tells you this, which is one reason aggregate scores drift upwards.

The Mumbai international school year starts around June and runs through a monsoon term that loses sessions to flooding on the Western Express Highway and waterlogging around Kurla and Sion. Internal assessment deadlines cluster from October into December for DP second-year students, often with an EE final draft and a TOK essay in the same fortnight. Mock exams land in January and February. The May session papers follow, and the IGCSE May and June series overlaps with them. Coursework and practical deadlines for Cambridge subjects sit earlier than most families expect.

Families here deal with those pressure points at schools including Dhirubhai Ambani International School and the American School of Bombay in BKC, Ecole Mondiale World School and Jamnabai Narsee International School in Juhu, Oberoi International School at Goregaon East, B.D. Somani International School at Cuffe Parade, Cathedral and John Connon School in Fort, Bombay International School at Babulnath, Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai, NES International School in Mulund West, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul. Each sets its own internal deadlines ahead of the board ones, which is why two students in the same subject can be three weeks apart.

IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with any of the schools named above, nor with the International Baccalaureate or Cambridge International Education. Naming them here is local context, nothing more. What it is useful for is calibration: if you are reading feedback about a tutor from a family at a school whose IA deadlines fall in November, and your school sets them in October, you are reading about a different workload than the one your child faces.

  • Term opens around June into a monsoon term that loses sessions to flooding
  • DP internal assessment deadlines cluster October to December, often alongside the EE
  • Mock exams in January and February produce the most honest parent feedback
  • May session and the IGCSE May and June series overlap for many families
  • School internal deadlines run ahead of board ones and vary between campuses

Home tuition, online or hybrid: which reviews actually transfer in Mumbai?

Feedback about home tuition transfers to another home-tuition booking on the same corridor, and almost nowhere else. Home tutoring is IB Gram's lead service, and it is what most Mumbai families want: a tutor at the dining table, books open, no screen to hide behind, and a parent able to hear whether the session is teaching or chatting. The trade-off is travel, which is the single biggest cause of a slot quietly dying in month three.

Online suits a different set of problems. It removes the commute entirely, which matters if you need a specialist in a scarce subject, and scarcity is real: HL Chemistry, HL Economics, Computer Science, Business Management and the second-language subjects have far fewer experienced teachers than Maths or Physics. An IB online tutor in Mumbai can also hold a late evening slot that no commuting tutor would accept, and can share a marked script on screen. The cost is attention. A fourteen-year-old on a laptop in a bedroom is harder to read than the same child across a table, and whiteboard work in Maths is slower.

Hybrid is what most long-running arrangements settle into without anyone planning it: home sessions as the weekly anchor, online for the extra hour before a mock, for a monsoon week when nobody is driving across the Eastern Express Highway, or for the frantic fortnight before an IA deadline. Families who book all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Mumbai-wide for two or three children often run one subject online purely because the specialist lives on the other side of the city.

The honest trade-off summary is this. Home tuition buys you supervision and fewer excuses. Online buys you reach and reliability. Hybrid buys you both and costs you a little continuity. When you read anything about a tutor, check which mode it describes, because a glowing note about IB home tuition in Mumbai tells you nothing about how that person performs on a video call, and the reverse is just as true.

  • Home tuition: best supervision, best for younger students, limited by travel
  • Online: reaches scarce HL specialists, holds late slots, weaker attention control
  • Hybrid: home anchor plus online top-ups before mocks and IA deadlines
  • Monsoon weeks are the usual reason a home slot moves online temporarily
  • Check which mode any recommendation describes before you rely on it

What IB Gram checks, and what you should check yourself

Verification is the part of IB Gram reviews in Mumbai that a parent can actually audit, so here is what sits behind an introduction. We confirm identity against government photo identification. We ask for and look at qualification documents rather than accepting a claim on a profile. We probe the stated teaching history with syllabus questions specific to the components the tutor says they teach, because a teacher who has run DP Physics Paper 2 marking can discuss it and one who has not cannot. Where a tutor has taught a previous family through us, we can ask that family directly.

What we do not do is pretend a check happened that did not. If you ask what was verified for a specific tutor, you will be told which documents were seen and which claims rest on the tutor's own account. That distinction is more useful than a badge. Any platform willing to show you the difference is worth more than one showing you a score, and this is also why there is no aggregate number published here.

Your own checks are the ones that catch fit, and fit is what no verification process can establish. Watch the first fifteen minutes of the trial from the next room. Notice whether the tutor asks what the school has already covered or launches into their own plan. Notice whether they arrive with past papers and the current subject guide or with a general textbook. Ask them, in front of you, what the mark scheme rewards in the IA your child is working on. Ask who they would tell, and how fast, if your child stopped doing the set work.

When feedback is poor, the process is deliberately unglamorous. We ask for specifics, because sessions are boring is a different problem from the homework is never marked. We put the specifics to the tutor. If it is fixable, the tutor fixes it and we check back after two sessions. If it is not, you get a replacement and you do not pay for the fit failing. A tutor who draws the same complaint from unrelated families stops being matched, and that decision is made on the complaints themselves rather than on an average.

  • Identity confirmed against government photo identification before any introduction
  • Qualification documents seen, not taken on trust from a profile
  • Teaching history probed with component-specific syllabus questions
  • You can ask which documents were seen for a named tutor
  • Repeated unrelated complaints end a tutor's matching, not an average score

What is better evidence than a review when hiring a home tutor in Mumbai?

Four things, in this order. A trial session you watch part of. A marked piece of your child's own work returned against the assessment criteria. A four-week checkpoint with a written note of what changed. And a reference from a family with the same board, the same subject and the same exam year as your child. Each of those is observable. A review is a report of someone else's observation, filtered through their memory and their mood.

Tutoring reviews are weak evidence for structural reasons, not because people lie. The samples are tiny: a tutor teaching a handful of students a year generates a handful of opinions, which is far too few to average meaningfully. Selection is biased, because feedback is requested at the happiest moment and the families who left in week three are not asked and would not reply. Timing is wrong, because the enthusiastic note is usually written months before the results that would test it. And fit is personal: the tutor who got a quiet DP1 student in Powai talking is not necessarily the right match for a confident, disorganised IGCSE student in Bandra. Searches like best IB tutor in Mumbai and IB tutors near me Mumbai assume a ranking exists across all children. It does not.

What a review genuinely does tell you is worth separating out, because it is not nothing. It tells you about reliability: did the tutor turn up, on time, in July, when Ghodbunder Road or the Sion flooding gave them an excuse. It tells you about communication: did they reply, did they flag a missed deadline, did they speak to the parent and not only the child. It tells you how they behaved in someone's home, around a gatekeeper, around a younger sibling. Those are real signals about conduct. What it cannot tell you is subject depth at HL, whether the marks moved because of the tutoring or because the child finally started working, or whether this person suits your child.

So gather evidence instead of reading it. Ask us for a reference and be specific: same board, same subject, same year, and ideally the same mode, because an IB private tutor Mumbai families used online is a different test from one who came to the flat. Then ask that family the questions below. They take five minutes on the phone and they are far harder to dress up than a written line of praise.

This is also why anyone hunting for IB Gram reviews in Mumbai finds no star rating, no score out of five and no count of satisfied families on this page. A number built from a small, self-selected set of responses would look like evidence without being evidence, and it would be the least reliable thing on a page otherwise full of checkable statements. If you want a number, the ones worth having are your child's own: the band on a marked IA criterion in week one and the band in week eight.

  • Ask: which board, which year, and did your child sit the exam?
  • Ask: what did the tutor actually do in the first three sessions?
  • Ask: was written work marked and returned with the criteria named?
  • Ask: what happened when your child missed a deadline or stopped working?
  • Ask: would you book this tutor again for a different child, and why?
  • Ask us for a same-board, same-subject, same-year reference rather than a testimonial

What progress looks like at four weeks, one term and one exam cycle

At four weeks you are not looking for marks. You are looking for process: the student knows what the next assessment is and what it is marked on, written work is coming back annotated, and the tutor can tell you in two sentences what the weak topic is and what they are doing about it. If none of that is true after four weeks of weekly sessions, the arrangement is not working, and waiting for the next report card to confirm it wastes a term.

By the end of a term you should see movement in the things tutoring controls directly. A rewritten IA section that now addresses the criterion it missed. Paper 1 questions attempted in the right order with time left over. A topic that used to be skipped now attempted. Internal test marks often move at this point, and sometimes they do not, because a single school test can swing on which sub-topic it sampled. Judge the trend across two or three assessments rather than reacting to one.

Across a full exam cycle the honest statement is that tutoring is one input among several. Attendance, the teaching at school, the student's own work between sessions, sleep in the fortnight before papers and plain nerves on the day all move the final grade. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and nobody who tells you otherwise should be believed. What we will commit to is the process being visible: you will always be able to see what was taught, what was marked and what the tutor thinks is still weak.

The limits cut both ways, and that is the case for not relying on reviews. If a family tells you a tutor lifted their child two grades, the tutoring may have been excellent and the child may also have had a crisis in week one that scared them into working. If another family reports no change, the tutor may have been poor or the student may have cancelled half the sessions. Neither story survives contact with your own four-week checkpoint, which is the one piece of evidence that is about your child.

  • Week four: process visible, work marked, weak topic named by the tutor
  • One term: a rewritten IA section, better paper timing, a topic no longer skipped
  • Judge test marks across two or three assessments, never a single school test
  • Final grades depend on school teaching, independent work and exam-day conditions
  • No change at four weeks is a reason to switch tutor, not to wait

Starting home tuition in Mumbai without relying on reviews

Getting started takes one message and about ten minutes of preparation. Have the last report card or term assessment to hand, the subject list with HL and SL or Core and Extended marked against each one, the next two deadlines your child is facing, two workable evening slots, and your address with whatever the building needs for a visitor to be let in. That last item sounds trivial and is the most common cause of a first session starting twenty minutes late.

The first session is diagnostic and should not feel like a lesson. A good tutor spends it finding out what the school has covered, what the student thinks they are bad at, and what they are actually bad at, which is usually a different thing. Expect one piece of written work attempted in front of them, because a tutor cannot judge a student from conversation. Expect a short summary afterwards naming the starting point and the first fortnight's plan.

A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai families need across two children is a common request, and it is worth saying what it actually means: usually two tutors, not one, because nobody teaches HL Physics and MYP English well. Ask for the split rather than accepting a generalist. If your preference is an IB home tutor in Mumbai for the anchor subject and online for a scarce one, say so in the first message and the shortlist is built that way from the start.

Then run your own checkpoint. Put a date four weeks out in your calendar on the day you confirm the tutor. On that date, look at the marked work, ask the tutor the two-sentence question about the weak topic, and ask your child one question: do you know what the next assessment is marked on? Those three answers are the review that matters, and unlike anything on the internet, it is about your child.

  • Prepare: last report card, subject list with HL, SL, Core or Extended marked
  • Prepare: next two deadlines, two evening slots, gate or visitor instructions
  • First session: diagnostic, one piece of written work attempted, short summary after
  • Two children usually means two tutors; ask for the split, not a generalist
  • Diary a four-week checkpoint on the day you confirm the tutor
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

Why does this page show no IB Gram reviews, ratings or testimonials?+

Because a rating built from a handful of self-selected responses would mislead you. Tutoring generates tiny samples, feedback is collected at the happiest point, and the enthusiastic note is usually written months before the results that would test it. Publishing a score out of five would make all of that look like measurement, so IB Gram reviews in Mumbai are not aggregated into a number anywhere on this site. Instead this page gives you the things you can check yourself: what we verify before an introduction, what a trial session should look like, what to ask a previous family, and what we do when an arrangement is not working. If you want a reference, ask us for one on your board, subject and year.

What should I ask a family who has already used a tutor?+

Start with the facts, not the feelings. Which board and programme, which year, and did your child actually sit the exam. Then ask what the tutor did in the first three sessions, whether written work came back marked with the criteria named, and what happened the first time a deadline slipped or your child stopped doing the set work. Finish with the question that separates politeness from real endorsement: would you book this tutor again, for a different child, and why. Five minutes of that is worth more than any amount of written praise, because it is specific enough to be hard to dress up.

How do I judge a tutor if there is nothing to read about them?+

Use the trial and a marked piece of work. Watch the first fifteen minutes from the next room and listen for whether the tutor asks what the school has covered or launches into a prepared speech. Check they arrive with past papers and the current subject guide. Then send one past paper answer or one Internal Assessment paragraph and ask for it back with the criterion named, the band they would award, and one sentence on what the next band needs. A teacher who knows the component can do that in twenty minutes. One who cannot has told you everything you needed.

A tutor was excellent for my friend's child. Will they suit mine?+

Possibly, but it is a weaker signal than it feels. Fit is personal: the tutor who got a quiet Diploma Programme first-year in Powai talking may be the wrong match for a confident, disorganised IGCSE student who needs deadlines enforced. Check three things before you treat the recommendation as decisive: same board and programme, same subject at the same level, and the same mode, because home tuition and online are different skills. If all three line up, it is genuinely useful information. If your friend's child was two years younger in a different subject, you are mostly hearing that the tutor is pleasant.

What do IB tuition fees in Mumbai depend on?+

Five things, and we will quote on your specific case rather than publish a list. Board and level come first, because Higher Level Diploma Programme teaching and IGCSE Core teaching are different jobs. Subject scarcity matters: HL Chemistry, Computer Science, Business Management and second languages have fewer experienced teachers than Maths. Travel distance and time of day affect it, since a weekday evening slot across the city costs a tutor two hours of travel. Session length and frequency change the total. Online is usually cheaper than home tuition for the same tutor because the commute disappears.

Will a home tutor really travel to our building in Andheri on a weekday evening?+

Yes, provided the tutor is matched on your corridor rather than across the city. Andheri sits on the Western Line, Metro Line 1 and the Western Express Highway, so a tutor living between Santacruz West and Goregaon reaches you in a workable window; one coming from Chembur or Thane in the evening peak will not sustain it past a few weeks. This is why we ask for your locality and your preferred slot before building the shortlist. If your only workable slot is early evening, say so first, because it eliminates more candidates than the subject does.

How does society gate access work for weekly home tuition?+

Tell us at the booking stage and it is handled before the first session rather than at the gate. Most Mumbai complexes want a visitor entry at the main gate, some need the flat to approve each entry on an app, and others issue a standing pass for a recurring weekly visitor once the resident requests it. Give the tutor the tower and flat number, the gate the tutor's name and the fixed slot, and the standing arrangement usually settles after two visits. Where a building insists on fresh approval each time, the tutor will message you on arrival so nobody waits downstairs.

Does online tuition actually work for IB Maths?+

It works well for explanation and review, less well for first-time teaching of a new topic to a younger student. Shared screens suit marking a Paper 2 script, walking through an Exploration draft, or working through past paper questions the student has already attempted. What suffers is live whiteboard work and the tutor's ability to see hesitation on a face. For Diploma Programme students who are self-directed it is often indistinguishable from a home session. For Middle Years Programme students it usually needs a parent nearby and a desk, not a bed.

There has been no progress after a month. What happens now?+

Tell us and we treat it as a fit problem rather than an argument. We ask for specifics first, because nothing is improving means something different from the homework is never marked. We put those specifics to the tutor. If it is fixable, the tutor adjusts and we check back after two sessions. If it is not, you get a replacement and the handover includes what was already covered so you do not restart from zero. Four weeks with marked work and no visible process is enough evidence to switch; waiting for the next report card costs you a term.

Do you cover Navi Mumbai and Thane, or only the island city?+

All of it, matched node to node and corridor to corridor. In Navi Mumbai we match within and between neighbouring nodes, so Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel work well off Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, and the Atal Setu has made some island-city crossings viable that were not before. In Thane, the Ghodbunder Road stretch sets the schedule, so a Kasarvadavali booking is matched to a tutor who already lives west or east of the station rather than to someone crossing from Mulund. We will tell you honestly when a request is a travel problem.

What if a session is missed, by us or by the tutor?+

Agree the rule in the first week and it never becomes a dispute. The normal arrangement is that a session cancelled with reasonable notice is rescheduled within the same week, and a tutor who cancels makes up the time. Monsoon weeks are the common case in Mumbai, and the usual fix is moving that week online rather than losing it, which keeps momentum before mocks. If sessions are being missed repeatedly on either side, treat it as a signal about the arrangement rather than an administrative matter and tell us.

Can you guarantee my child's grade will improve?+

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. A final grade depends on the teaching at school, the work the student does between sessions, attendance, how the papers sample the syllabus and plain nerves on the day. IB Gram does not guarantee grades. What we commit to is a verified tutor matched on board, level, subject and travel, a visible process you can inspect at four weeks, and a replacement at no cost to you if the fit fails. IB Gram is also an independent platform and is not affiliated with any school or examination board.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send one message with the board, the year, the subjects with Higher Level, Standard Level, Core or Extended marked, your locality and two workable evening slots. You will get two or three profiles with the verification notes attached, not a sales pitch, and you can ask for a reference on your own board, subject and exam year. Then sit the trial and judge it yourself.
