IB Tutors Near Me in Govandi, Mumbai

Searching for an IB tutor near me in Govandi is a question about distance before it is a question about qualifications. The nearest suitable specialist is usually one stop up the Harbour Line in Chembur, occasionally in Kurla or Mankhurd, and home tuition can normally begin within a week. This page explains the radius, the waiting time and the trade-off.

How quickly can an IB tutor near me in Govandi actually start?

For mainstream subjects, a shortlist in two or three days and a first session that same week, which is faster than most parts of Mumbai manage. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and English are well represented along this stretch of the Harbour Line, so the limiting factor is almost never whether a tutor exists; it is whether the evening slot you want is already taken by another family. For a scarce Higher Level (HL) option or a less common second language, two weeks is a more honest answer, and we would rather say so than put a generalist in your living room on Friday.

The sequence is deliberately geographic. We begin with tutors who live in Govandi itself, which is a small pool, then widen to Chembur, which is where most of the corridor's International Baccalaureate (IB) specialists actually live, then Kurla and Mankhurd. Only after those four do we look at the Eastern Freeway corridor, where Wadala, Sewri and Parel tutors become realistic because the Freeway run is far quicker than the distance implies. Each widening step adds candidates and adds journey time, and we tell you which step a tutor came from so you can weigh it yourself.

What slows a match down is rarely supply. It is the slot. Govandi children travelling to Chembur campuses get home in the late afternoon tired, so the sessions that work are 6.30pm to 8pm on weekdays and mid-morning at the weekend, and every family on the corridor wants the same three windows. If you can offer two alternative evenings rather than one, the shortlist you get back is noticeably stronger. If you can take a Sunday morning, it is stronger again.

Before anything is booked for a term you meet one tutor for a diagnostic visit. The tutor reads the last two school reports and whatever marked work exists, watches the student attempt something unaided, and then states what they believe the actual gap is and what the first month would address. Parents expect this to be a lesson and it should not be. One session of accurate diagnosis is worth more than four weeks of teaching aimed at the wrong thing.

  • 1. Send year, programme stage, subject and two possible evening windows.
  • 2. We search Govandi first, then Chembur, Kurla and Mankhurd in order.
  • 3. You receive two or three names with their area and travel time.
  • 4. One diagnostic visit, with marked work read before any teaching happens.
  • 5. Confirm the weekly slot or ask for the next shortlist.

PYP, MYP or Diploma Programme: which rung is your Govandi child on?

Three rungs, three completely different jobs for a tutor in Mumbai, and parents searching for proximity sometimes forget that the rung matters more than the kilometres. In the Primary Years Programme (PYP), covering roughly Years 1 to 5, nothing is examined externally and there is no syllabus to drill. The useful work is reading stamina, number confidence and the ability to answer the question that was asked rather than the one the child wishes had been asked. A tutor twenty minutes away who is good with eight-year-olds beats a subject expert next door.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP), Years 6 to 10, is where the local pool gets tested. Each subject is judged against four criteria instead of one mark, and the criteria reward investigating, communicating and reflecting on method, none of which most students have been taught explicitly. The Personal Project in the final MYP year is the first piece of work many of them have to plan across months rather than days, and it is the commonest reason a Govandi parent starts searching in the first place. Support here is as much about project management as content.

The Diploma Programme (DP), Years 11 and 12, is where distance starts to matter less than specialism. Students carry six subjects, typically three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL), with an Internal Assessment (IA) in most of them, plus the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). A DP2 student whose TOK essay and Physics IA fall in the same fortnight does not need a nearby generalist; they need somebody who has marked that specific component. Component weightings, paper structures and submission windows all sit in the current subject guide and the IB revises those, so confirm them with your school's DP coordinator rather than with any tutoring page.

Families whose children are on the Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel route, weighing Core against Extended rather than Higher against Standard, will find our IGCSE tutor near me in Govandi page a better fit than this one.

  • PYP: reading stamina, number confidence, answering the question as set
  • MYP: four criteria per subject, with the Personal Project in the final year
  • DP: six subjects, three HL and three SL in a typical timetable
  • DP core: Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and the service strand
  • Verify weightings and submission windows with the school's DP coordinator

IB subjects and internal assessments across the Govandi corridor

The subject you need determines how far an IB tutor near me in Govandi search has to reach, and in Mumbai that distance varies more by subject than by area. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry tutors are the easiest to find within fifteen minutes of a Govandi address; Economics and English A are straightforward; Biology at Higher Level, Business Management, Psychology and the less common languages pull the search outward towards Wadala, Chembur East or online entirely. Knowing which category your subject falls into before you start saves a fortnight of hopeful enquiries.

Mathematics splits before any tutoring begins, between Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, each at two levels. Families along this corridor often default to the harder route because an older sibling took it, and for a student heading towards design, economics or the life sciences that is a four-term mistake disguised as ambition. The Internal Assessment in Mathematics, an individual exploration, also rewards something nobody practises: choosing a question narrow enough to actually finish. We have read Govandi drafts that would have made a decent undergraduate dissertation and could not be marked at all.

In the sciences the work splits into paper technique and investigation craft, and they need different people more often than parents expect. Paper technique is about command terms and the difference between describe, explain and evaluate. Investigation craft is about a controlled variable list that is honest, uncertainties that are propagated rather than ignored, and an evaluation that engages with the method's weaknesses instead of apologising for the weather. A student can be strong at one and hopeless at the other, and a diagnostic visit should establish which before a single topic is retaught.

English A, Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay are where nearby tutors earn their keep most quietly. All three reward argument rather than information, and all three improve through a weekly cycle of writing, marking and rewriting that only works if the tutor is reliably present. A tutor forty minutes away who cancels twice a month cannot run that cycle. This is the one argument for proximity that we think is genuinely strong, and it is why all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Govandi parents book tend to settle with somebody from the immediate corridor.

  • Easiest to find locally: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, English A
  • Search wider for HL Biology, Business Management, Psychology, rarer languages
  • Mathematics exploration: the hard part is narrowing the question enough
  • Sciences: paper technique and investigation craft are two different skills
  • Writing subjects need weekly reliability more than they need brilliance

Travel time from Chembur, Kurla and Mankhurd to a Govandi flat

Chembur is the answer to most proximity questions here. It is one station north of Govandi on the Harbour Line, it is where the international campuses these children attend are located, and consequently it is where the corridor's IB specialists have gravitated. A Chembur tutor reaches a Govandi address in fifteen to twenty-five minutes depending on the hour and the route, which is well inside the range at which a weekly commitment holds for a year. Mankhurd, one station the other way, works identically and is slightly under-used because fewer families think to ask for it.

Kurla is twenty to thirty minutes out and valuable for a structural reason rather than a distance one: the Harbour and Central lines meet there, so a Kurla-based tutor can cover both this corridor and the Ghatkopar to Mulund stretch. That broader catchment is why scarce specialisms often turn up in Kurla, and why we check it before widening further. The Eastern Suburbs as a whole run from Chembur and Govandi up through Vikhroli and Bhandup to Mulund on the Central and Harbour lines and the Eastern Express Highway, and the Eastern Freeway makes South Mumbai reachable from Chembur and Wadala far faster than the map suggests.

That Freeway point is the one most Govandi families underestimate. A tutor living in Wadala or Parel is, on paper, in a different part of Mumbai. In practice the Freeway run to Chembur and across to Govandi is quick enough outside the worst of the peak that several of our strongest Diploma Programme examiners work this corridor from there. The Monorail between Chembur and Wadala provides the same link for a tutor who does not drive. So when you search for an IB tutor near me in Govandi, the honest pool is wider than the pin code and narrower than the city.

What does not work, and we will say so rather than take the booking, is pulling a tutor from the Western Suburbs or Thane for a weekday evening in Govandi. Bandra to Govandi across the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road at 6pm, or Thane down the Eastern Express Highway at the same hour, is an hour of somebody's life twice a week. It holds for a month. Where housing here is concerned, buildings range from older walk-ups to newer towers with a staffed lobby and a visitor register, so tell us how entry works at yours and the tutor arrives prepared rather than negotiating at the gate.

  • Chembur to Govandi: fifteen to twenty-five minutes, the core of the pool
  • Mankhurd: same corridor, same journey, consistently under-requested by families
  • Kurla: twenty to thirty minutes, and the junction that widens the catchment
  • Wadala, Sewri and Parel are viable because of the Eastern Freeway
  • Western Suburbs or Thane for a weekday evening does not last a term

Why do Govandi children school in Chembur?

Because that is where the international-board campuses on this corridor are, and the Harbour Line makes the journey short enough to be unremarkable. JBCN International School, Chembur and Witty International School are the two names that come up in nearly every enquiry from a Govandi address, and the practical effect is that a Govandi family's academic calendar is a Chembur calendar. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with JBCN International School, Chembur, Witty International School or any school named on this page. We name them because they set the dates that will interrupt your weekly tutoring slot, and because a tutor who already works with students from those campuses knows the dates without being told.

That single geographic fact is also why proximity searches from Govandi behave differently from proximity searches elsewhere in Mumbai. The tutor you want has probably taught several children from your child's own year group, because the catchment funnels into a small number of campuses. In most of the city a parent trades local for experienced. Here the two frequently coincide, and the tutor who lives nearest is also the one who has already seen the Internal Assessment brief your child was handed last week.

The year runs to a recognisable rhythm on these campuses. June opens with new timetables, late July and August bring the first real assessments and the point at which subject or level changes are still possible without drama, and the August to October window is when Diploma Programme Internal Assessment work gets set. October and November bring mock examinations. January and February are the compressed stretch where IA deadlines, the Extended Essay and the Theory of Knowledge essay tend to land together, and April and May are the external papers. Exact dates belong to the school examinations officer rather than to us.

The reason this belongs on a page about proximity is timing. A parent who starts searching in January because of a report is searching in the worst month, when every good tutor on the corridor is already committed to their existing DP2 students. A parent searching in July has the pick of the pool. Distance determines who can come; the calendar determines who is still free.

  • The corridor funnels into a few Chembur campuses, so tutors know the briefs
  • June to August: new timetable, first assessments, changes still possible
  • August to October: Diploma Programme internal assessment work is set
  • January and February: IA, Extended Essay and TOK essay land together
  • Search in July and you choose; search in January and you take what is free

Home tuition first, then online: picking a format in Mumbai

Proximity only matters if somebody is travelling, so decide the format before you judge the distance. For most families here the answer is an IB home tutor in Govandi coming to the flat once or twice a week, because a tutor in the room sees the notebook, catches the moment a student nods without understanding, and can work a diagram out in pencil alongside them. For any PYP or MYP student, and for any case where the real problem is organisation rather than content, home tuition is not merely the nicer option; it is the only format that reliably changes anything.

Online removes the distance question entirely and that is exactly when it is worth considering. If your child needs a specialism nobody within range teaches at the right level, an IB online tutor in Govandi based in another city is a better answer than a nearby generalist who will learn the syllabus alongside them. During the examination term, a DP2 student frequently gains more from three short online reviews a week than from one long visit, and no tutor will drive to Govandi three times a week for forty minutes. The limits are real: online is weaker for younger students, weaker where working has to be seen forming on paper, and it depends on a connection that behaves at 7pm.

Hybrid is what most longer arrangements on this corridor become, and it is better chosen than drifted into. One visit a week for teaching and diagnosis; one short online slot for marking, a stuck question and accountability. It keeps the tutor's travel load sustainable, which is the single biggest factor in whether you still have the same tutor in nine months. Continuity beats both proximity and pedigree. A family that has had four tutors in a year is behind a family that kept one adequate tutor who turned up.

Cost follows the same logic rather than a price list. IB tuition fees in Govandi depend on the board and level, how scarce the specialism is on this corridor, travel distance and the hour of the slot, session length and weekly frequency. The same tutor is usually cheaper online than at your table because the journey disappears, which is one honest reason to consider a hybrid week. Ask for the figure against your exact subject, level and slot, and ask what moves if you add a second subject.

  • Home visits: the default here, and essential for PYP and MYP students
  • Online: use it for scarce specialisms and short pre-examination reviews
  • Hybrid: one visit plus one short online slot keeps the same tutor longer
  • Travel distance and slot hour both move the fee; ask about both
  • Continuity over nine months matters more than proximity or pedigree

Nearest is not the same as right: how a Mumbai tutor is checked

Every tutor we put in front of a Govandi family has been checked on four points before their name reaches you: government photo identification, a degree in the subject they will teach, verifiable teaching or examining experience at the board and level you need, and references we have actually spoken to. Your flat number and your phone number are not released until you have agreed to meet somebody. That order is the main difference between a platform match and a number passed around a parents group, where proximity is the only check anyone has made.

The check that proximity searches most often skip is level and component experience. A tutor who lives eight minutes away and has taught the subject for years may never have supervised an Extended Essay or marked an Internal Assessment, and those two things are where Diploma Programme marks are won and lost. We ask which level, which components, how many cohorts and whether they have marked externally. An IB private tutor Govandi families find informally may be excellent, but the question was never asked, and the gap surfaces at the worst possible moment, which is the week a draft is due.

Four things are yours to check and the first session is enough for all of them. Does the tutor ask your child questions, or deliver a monologue? Can they name the three specific things they intend to fix and explain why those three? Does marked work come back with comments rather than ticks? Will they tell you something inconvenient, such as that the level is wrong for this student? And be wary of anybody who offers a guaranteed grade or promises a particular score in exchange for a term of lessons. We do not guarantee grades, we publish no success figures, and anyone who has actually marked papers knows why.

When the match is wrong, say so inside three sessions. The usual fault is fit rather than competence: a reticent student with a tutor who fills every pause, or a student who needs pushing matched with someone too accommodating. That is our shortlisting error and we fix it without asking you to justify anything. Because the Govandi, Chembur, Kurla and Mankhurd pool is deep for mainstream subjects, a replacement usually takes days. Parents hunting for the best IB tutor in Govandi are generally hunting for the one who will still be here next June, which is a question about reliability rather than brilliance.

  • Four checks before a name is sent: identity, degree, level experience, references
  • Ask specifically about Internal Assessment marking and Extended Essay supervision
  • Your address stays private until you agree to meet the tutor
  • Judge the first session on questions asked, not on content covered
  • Be wary of anyone offering a specific grade for a term of lessons

Is the closest IB tutor near me in Govandi the right one?

Usually, but not always, and the exception follows one clear rule: proximity wins below Year 11 and specialism wins above it. For a PYP or MYP student the weekly cycle of teaching, setting work and marking it matters far more than the tutor's depth in the subject, and that cycle only survives if the journey is short. A tutor eight minutes away who never cancels will produce more change in a Year 8 student than a Diploma Programme examiner who crosses the city and reschedules twice a month. Below Year 11, take the near one.

Above Year 11 the calculation inverts, because Diploma Programme marks concentrate in components that reward specific experience. An Internal Assessment, an Extended Essay, a Theory of Knowledge essay: each is marked against criteria that somebody who has examined them reads differently from somebody who has only taught the content. If the nearest available tutor has never marked an IA in your child's subject and a tutor thirty-five minutes away has marked dozens, the thirty-five minutes is worth paying for, especially in the January stretch when the draft is the whole game. This is also the case where online is often the better answer than either.

There is a middle path families here use well. Engage the near tutor for the weekly work and bring in a specialist for a short, defined block around one component, four or five sessions on the exploration or the essay, then stop. It costs less than replacing the regular arrangement and it keeps the continuity that produced the progress in the first place. We will tell you when we think a case calls for this rather than quietly selling you two full arrangements.

One more honest consideration. Searching for an IB tutor near me in Govandi tends to produce whoever is nearest and available, which is not the same as whoever is nearest and good. Availability at short notice in October usually means a tutor with gaps, and gaps in October on this corridor are worth asking about politely. The ones who are genuinely strong tend to be full, which is why a week of patience in a good month beats an instant match in a bad one. All IB and IGCSE subjects a tutor in Govandi can plausibly cover does not mean one person covers them; a shortlist of two specialists is nearly always better than one willing generalist.

  • Below Year 11: take proximity, because weekly reliability does the work
  • Above Year 11: pay the extra travel for component and marking experience
  • Middle path: near tutor weekly, specialist for a short defined block
  • Instant availability in a busy month is worth asking a question about
  • Two specialists on two evenings beat one generalist on one

What four weeks of IB home tuition in Govandi should show

Not marks. Four sessions change how a student starts a problem and cannot move a school grade, and the practical danger is that parents who judge on marks at four weeks abandon arrangements a fortnight before they would have paid off. What should be visible by then is narrower and more trustworthy: the student beginning a question instead of staring at it, work attempted before the tutor arrives rather than during the session, and the ability to say aloud what a question is asking for. If a tutor cannot point to those, they are not watching closely enough.

By one term, three or four months, a grade shift in the tutored subject is fair to expect, assuming the sessions happened and the work between them got done. One band is the realistic figure for a single subject with weekly home classes. Two bands occurs, generally where the original problem was technique rather than knowledge, and should never be the plan. A term is also long enough to see Internal Assessment quality change, which for a Diploma Programme student often matters more than the paper marks because it is banked before the examination season begins.

Over a full exam cycle, say plainly what tutoring cannot do. It cannot substitute for attention in class, so a student who has disengaged at school will not be rescued by two hours a week at the dining table. It cannot undo a Higher Level subject chosen against the student's strengths, which is why the level conversation belongs in Year 10 and DP1 rather than DP2. And it cannot promise an outcome: we do not guarantee grades, and the person in the examination hall is your child.

If it is not working, the remedy is quick. Tell us within three or four sessions, answer two questions, which are what the tutor does that is not landing and what your child says about them, and we shortlist again from the same corridor. You are not billed for sessions that did not happen. If you would rather start from the home-visit angle than the proximity one, our IB home tutor in Govandi page covers the gate, the study space and the weekly slot in more detail, and it is the better entry point for a family that has already decided on home tuition.

  • Four weeks: problems started unprompted, work attempted before the session
  • One term: one grade band on the tutored subject is a fair expectation
  • One term: Internal Assessment quality improving and banked early
  • One cycle: no substitute for class attention, no fixing a wrong level
  • Not landing by session three? Two questions, then a fresh shortlist

Getting a shortlist of IB home tutors in Govandi this week

Four things get you a usable shortlist quickly. The year and programme stage, so we know whether this is PYP habits, MYP criteria or a Diploma Programme component. The subject and level, including Higher or Standard where it is settled. One recently marked piece of work with the teacher's comments still on it. And two evening windows rather than one, because the slot is what limits the match on this corridor far more often than the supply of tutors. Mentioning how visitor entry works in your building saves the first session from being spent downstairs.

You will receive two or three names, each with the area they travel from, the journey they are taking on, their subjects and the levels they have taught. The travel time is stated rather than implied, because on a proximity search that is the number you are actually comparing. You choose who visits. The first visit is diagnostic, in your flat, and ends with the tutor telling you both what the gap is and what the first four weeks would cover. If their read is wrong, you have spent one session discovering it.

If the subject is scarce we will tell you before you wait. Our coverage label reads all IB and IGCSE subjects IB and IGCSE, Years 1-12 tutor Mumbai, which means we take the request rather than that one person answers it. A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents occasionally ask for is not a real person, and the IB tutor Mumbai families keep for years is nearly always a specialist in one or two subjects who says plainly when a third belongs to somebody else.

Finally, lead with your date if you have one. A Theory of Knowledge essay due in three weeks, an Extended Essay supervisor meeting, a mock in a fortnight: each produces a different shortlist and a different session pattern. If the date cannot be met with the tutors genuinely available near Govandi, we will say that instead of filling the slot and letting you find out in week two.

  • Send year, programme stage, subject, level and two evening windows
  • Include one marked piece of work with the comments still attached
  • Every shortlisted tutor arrives with their area and travel time stated
  • Say upfront if a component deadline is driving the request
  • Scarce subjects take about a fortnight, and we will tell you so
FAQs

Govandi tutoring — questions parents ask

How far away will my tutor actually live?+

An IB tutor near me in Govandi is most often based in Chembur, one station up the Harbour Line and fifteen to twenty-five minutes from a Govandi address depending on the hour. After Chembur the pool widens to Kurla and Mankhurd, both comfortably inside half an hour, and then to Wadala, Sewri and Parel, which are viable because the Eastern Freeway makes that run much quicker than the map implies. We state the area and the journey for every shortlisted tutor rather than leaving you to guess, because on a proximity search that is the figure you are actually weighing against experience.

Can a tutor travel to Govandi for a weekday evening session?+

Yes, and the 6.30pm to 8pm window is the one tutors on this corridor prefer. Children travelling back from Chembur campuses are not usable at 4.30pm, so late afternoon slots look convenient and teach very little. What we avoid is a weekday evening tutor coming from the Western Suburbs or Thane, because an hour each way twice a week holds for about a month before sessions start moving. If your preferred evening is already taken, offering a second option usually improves the shortlist immediately.

Is a nearby tutor better than a more experienced one further away?+

Below Year 11, yes; above it, usually not. Younger students need the weekly cycle of teaching, work set and work marked, and that cycle depends on a journey short enough that nobody cancels. Diploma Programme marks, by contrast, concentrate in the Internal Assessment, Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, where somebody who has marked those components reads them differently from somebody who has only taught the content. Many families use both: the near tutor weekly, plus a specialist for a short defined block around one component.

How does a tutor get into our building for a weekly slot?+

Register them once as a recurring visitor and it stops being a question. Govandi housing ranges from older walk-up blocks where a regular visitor is simply recognised to newer towers with a staffed lobby, a visitor register and a lift that needs resident authorisation. Tell us which applies when you enquire so the tutor arrives expecting it. Where a society office issues passes, one written confirmation from a resident normally covers a standing weekly entry; where there is no system, a message from you to the security desk on the first evening is enough.

Do you have tutors in Mankhurd and Kurla as well?+

Yes, and both matter for different reasons. Mankhurd is the same corridor one station south, so the journey is identical to Chembur's and the area is consistently under-requested, which occasionally means better availability. Kurla sits where the Harbour and Central lines meet, giving those tutors a much wider catchment, which is why scarce specialisms often surface there. We search Govandi first, then Chembur, then Kurla and Mankhurd, and only then widen along the Eastern Freeway, telling you which step each shortlisted tutor came from.

What if nobody suitable is available nearby right now?+

We tell you, rather than sending the nearest person who is free. For mainstream subjects this rarely happens, but a scarce Higher Level option or an uncommon language can genuinely have no match within range, and in that case the honest answer is online with a specialist elsewhere, or a short wait for a local tutor to free up a slot. Instant availability in a busy month usually means a tutor with gaps, which is worth asking about. A week of patience in July beats an instant match in January.

What do IB tuition fees in Govandi depend on?+

Board and level, how scarce the subject specialism is on this corridor, how far the tutor travels and at what hour, the session length, and how many sessions a week you book. A Standard Level subject for a younger student sits at one end of the range; a scarce Higher Level science with an Internal Assessment deadline sits at the other. The same tutor working online is usually cheaper, because nobody is travelling. We do not publish a rate card, since any figure printed here is either stale or wrong for your particular combination.

My child starts DP1 in June. When should we look for someone?+

Now, and certainly before October. The August to October window is when Internal Assessment work gets set and when a subject or level change is still manageable, and a tutor who sees the student in that window prevents problems instead of repairing them. It is also when the good tutors on this corridor still have slots; by January they are committed to the DP2 students who booked in the previous year. Starting late still helps, but the work narrows to examination technique rather than understanding, which is a thinner result for the same money.

Can one tutor handle three IB subjects?+

For a Diploma Programme student, they should not. One person covering Physics, Economics and English gives you a generalist in three subjects instead of a specialist in any, and the difference appears first in the Internal Assessment marks. In the lower MYP years the opposite applies: the work there is study habits, written structure and project planning, so one capable tutor across several subjects is genuinely efficient. For DP we would rather give you two specialists on two evenings, and will say so even when it is the less convenient answer.

How many sessions a week do most families here book?+

One per subject during the ordinary part of the year, rising to two in the weeks before mocks or a component deadline. Beyond two a week in the same subject, returns drop sharply, because the limiting factor becomes the work the student does alone rather than time with a tutor. Families who panic after a bad report sometimes book four and get a tired child and no improvement. The better adjustment is usually a longer single session, or a short online review added mid-week, rather than more visits.

Will the same tutor stay for the whole Diploma Programme?+

That is the aim, and it is the main reason we weight travel so heavily when shortlisting. A tutor whose journey is sustainable stays; a tutor crossing Mumbai twice a week does not, whatever they intend in June. Continuity matters more than any single credential, because a family that cycles through four tutors in a year loses more ground than one that kept a solid tutor throughout. If a tutor does have to stop, we shortlist a replacement from the same corridor and ask the outgoing tutor to hand over what has been covered.
