IB MYP Standard Mathematics Online Tutor in Mumbai

An IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai can work well, with one condition: the tutor has to watch the working appear rather than receive the answers. This page is about how to set that up for a younger student, when it beats a home tutor, and the cases where home tuition is honestly the better call.

How does IB Gram match an IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai?

Send four things in one message: the year group, the school, your area, and what device your child will actually use. The device question is the one nobody expects and it changes the shortlist immediately, because a session on a laptop with a separate tablet for writing runs differently from a session on a phone propped against a water bottle. We come back with two or three tutors who have taught MYP Standard Mathematics remotely, and you speak to each one before anything is confirmed. Asking for an IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai should produce named people with a checkable record, not a callback from a call centre.

Online matching has one real advantage over home tuition and it is worth using properly. The corridor stops mattering. A family in Kasarvadavali can work with a tutor in Nerul, and a Dahisar East family with someone in Chembur, which widens the pool enormously for a specific year group and route. So when parents search 'IB tutors near me Mumbai' and find nothing suitable within a reasonable drive, the right IB online tutor in Mumbai is often somebody three zones away who would never have been an option otherwise.

We ask about the room before the teaching. Which surface, which chair, who else is in that space, and where the phone will be. A twelve-year-old working at the dining table with a parent making dinner nearby concentrates better than the same child alone in a bedroom with the door shut, and the second arrangement is also the one where nobody notices for a month that the sessions have quietly turned into dictation.

Trial, then decide. Run two sessions before committing to a weekly slot, and treat the first as a test of the setup as much as of the tutor. If the audio drops, the writing cannot be seen or your child spent the hour nodding, tell us. Replacement is a message and you pay only for sessions that happened.

  • 1. Send year group, school, area and the exact device being used
  • 2. We shortlist tutors with remote MYP Standard Mathematics teaching history
  • 3. You run a short setup test: audio, camera angle, writing visible
  • 4. Two sessions before any weekly commitment is agreed
  • 5. Wrong fit means a message to us, not a difficult conversation

Standard and Extended mathematics inside the Middle Years Programme

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) spans five years and eight subject groups: language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical and health education, and design. Mathematics is one of the eight, and in the later years many schools run it as two routes. Standard teaches the core content of the framework for that year group in full. Extended adds further topics on top of the same core for students working further and faster.

The route is decided by the school together with the family, from classwork over a period and the subject teacher's reading of pace, not from one difficult assessment. Practice differs across the city: some schools separate the routes from Year 4, others from Year 5, others keep one class and differentiate inside it. What a route means for later mathematics choices in the Diploma Programme (DP) is also set school by school, which is why that question belongs with your MYP coordinator in writing rather than with a tutor or a web page.

For online work the year group matters more than the route does. A Year 1 or Year 2 student needs a tutor who can hold attention through a screen for twenty minutes at a time, which is a genuine skill and not one every good mathematician has. A Year 5 student on Standard, with the personal project running alongside the subject, needs someone who can keep two kinds of work from colliding. Our listings file requests like these as an 'MYP subject groups IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Years 1-5 tutor Mumbai' requirement precisely so that the year group is matched and not just the subject name.

One thing is worth saying before anything else on this page. A student on the Standard route is doing MYP mathematics properly, and the label describes a course the school chose to run. It is not a measurement of a child, and nothing in the way an online session is run should suggest otherwise.

  • Mathematics is one of the eight MYP subject groups
  • Standard teaches the year group's core content in full
  • Extended adds further topics beyond that same core
  • Route policy and progression rules are set by each school
  • Year group drives the online match more than the route does

Which MYP Standard Mathematics work transfers to a screen, and which does not

Some of this subject is well suited to remote teaching and some of it fights the medium. Graph work transfers well, because a shared screen beats a tutor's sketch on paper and a student can watch a line move as a coefficient changes. Statistics transfers well for the same reason: real data, a spreadsheet, a chart redrawn three ways in two minutes. Geometry construction and anything requiring compasses, rulers or physical shapes transfers badly, and a tutor who pretends otherwise has not tried it with a twelve-year-old.

The hard case is the arithmetic and algebra that MYP Standard Mathematics rests on, because the teaching value is in watching the hand move. When a student subtracts a bracket and loses the minus sign, the useful moment is the half-second of hesitation before the pen commits, and that moment is invisible if the tutor only sees a photograph afterwards. This is the whole reason the setup matters more online than anything in the tutor's qualifications: either the writing is visible live, or the session becomes a review of finished mistakes rather than teaching.

Work in this subject is marked against four criteria, A to D, covering knowing and understanding, investigating patterns, communicating, and applying mathematics in real-life contexts. The communicating strand is where online sessions can genuinely do better than a kitchen table, because a tutor can annotate a photographed page in a different colour and the student keeps that annotated copy. Seeing your own line of working with an arrow pointing at the exact character that went wrong is more useful than hearing it explained and rubbing it out. The band descriptors and how criterion marks become a reported level belong in the current subject guide and the school's assessment policy, so ask the coordinator for those rather than taking figures from anyone's summary.

An MYP subject groups tutor in Mumbai teaching several subjects at once remotely is sometimes the right answer for an organisational problem across a whole timetable. For a specific gap in proportional reasoning or algebraic manipulation, one subject specialist running short focused sessions does more in a month.

  • Graphs and statistics transfer well: shared screens beat paper sketches
  • Compass and construction work transfers badly at this age
  • Algebra needs the writing visible live, not a photo afterwards
  • Annotated photographs give the student a permanent corrected copy
  • Band descriptors come from the subject guide, never from a tutor

Online lessons and home tuition across the six zones of Mumbai

Online removes the travel problem and leaves a different one: the hour of the evening when a whole building is streaming. We cover Mumbai, Maharashtra in six zones and the practical advice changes by zone. In South Mumbai, across Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Worli and Parel, the buildings are older and the connection is usually fine while the rooms are small, so the difficulty is finding a corner that is not shared. The upside is choice: a family on the island can work with a tutor from any zone instead of only those who can fight the Haji Ali and Peddar Road signals, and IB home tuition in Mumbai here is still matched within the island when a family prefers someone in the room.

The Western Suburbs run from Bandra and Khar West through Santacruz West, Juhu and Andheri to Goregaon East (JVLR), Malad, Kandivali East, Borivali and Dahisar East. This is the zone with the most MYP families and the heaviest competition for the 6pm to 8pm slot, which is also the hour the Western Line, Metro Line 1 from Versova to Ghatkopar, Metro Lines 2A and 7 and the Western Express Highway are at their worst. Online is often chosen here simply to get a usable time: a 7.30pm start that would be impossible for a travelling tutor is routine on a screen. MYP subject groups home classes Mumbai parents book in this zone frequently become hybrid for exactly that reason.

In the Central Suburbs, Powai, Chandivali, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion, Powai is the standing example of why online gets chosen: no station of its own, so tutors arrive by road along JVLR, the Eastern Express Highway or the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR), and a single bad evening on JVLR can cost half a session. The Eastern Suburbs, from Chembur and Govandi through Wadala, Vikhroli and Bhandup to Mulund West on the Central and Harbour lines with the Eastern Freeway running to the island, pair well with Thane and Navi Mumbai tutors online, since those crossings are the ones that break weekly in-person slots.

Navi Mumbai, across Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel on Palm Beach Road, the Sion-Panvel Highway, the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines and Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 from Belapur to Pendhar, has the best study spaces in the region: separate rooms, real desks, fewer interruptions. The Atal Setu has shortened the drive from the island, and a weekly evening slot still works better online than across the creek. Thane spreads east from the station over Pokhran Road, Majiwada and Ghodbunder Road out to Kasarvadavali, where the road decides everything: twenty minutes off-peak, close to an hour in the peak. Online is the realistic answer for a Kasarvadavali family that wants a 6pm start, and a home tutor for MYP subject groups Mumbai families book in Thane should be living in Thane.

Across every zone, the same two checks before the first session: run the video call at the actual time of day you plan to use, and find out whether the building's network slows when everyone gets home. Both are five-minute tests and both prevent a term of blaming the tutor for the internet. An IB MYP standard mathematics online tuition slot survives on the quality of that hour, not on the postcode.

  • South Mumbai: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Worli, Parel
  • Western Suburbs: Bandra, Khar West, Santacruz West, Juhu, Borivali, Dahisar East
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Sion
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Govandi, Wadala, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund West
  • Navi Mumbai: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Panvel
  • Thane: Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Ghodbunder Road, Kasarvadavali

The Mumbai school year seen from an online tutor's calendar

The academic year opens in June and the first summative unit assessments arrive inside the first couple of months, which makes June and July the quietest and most productive weeks for remote work. Nothing is urgent, attention is better, and a tutor can spend three sessions on proportional reasoning without a parent asking why they are not preparing for Thursday. Families who start online tuition in June rather than September get the easy half of the year for the hardest part of the work.

From August the calendar pushes back. Unit assessments land, school activities fill the early evening, and the online slot is the first thing to be moved, because moving it costs nobody a journey. That convenience is the quiet danger of remote tuition: a home tutor who has travelled across Mumbai will not accept a cancellation at 5.50pm, and an online tutor often does. Protect the slot as though someone were travelling to it.

January and February are the pressure weeks, with reporting and new unit work together, and this is when online sessions get the most value out of being short. Twenty focused minutes on the two questions a student got wrong in a class test, three evenings a week, beats one tired ninety-minute call on a Sunday. March and April bring end-of-year assessments, and for Year 4 and Year 5 families the route conversation with the school.

Families we work with attend schools all over the city, among them Ecole Mondiale World School in Juhu, Ascend International School in BKC, JBCN International School, Borivali, Podar International School in Santacruz and Powai, Singapore International School in Dahisar East, NES International School in Mulund West and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any of those schools or with the International Baccalaureate organisation. We name them only because their timetables and assessment calendars are what an online tutor has to schedule around, and every one of them sets its own dates and its own mathematics route policy.

  • June and July: the quietest, most productive weeks for remote work
  • August onwards: the online slot is the first thing families move
  • Protect the slot as if someone were travelling to reach it
  • January and February: short frequent sessions beat long weekend calls
  • Each school sets its own assessment dates and route policy

Is online tuition or a home tutor better for a younger MYP student?

For a student who has lost confidence rather than content, a tutor in the room is usually better, and we will say so even when you have come to this page looking for online. Confidence at twelve or thirteen is rebuilt through small physical signals: somebody sitting beside you who does not sigh, a hand pointing at the right line, a question asked quietly instead of announced to a speaker. A screen flattens all of that. Where the gap is knowledge rather than nerve, online does the job well and sometimes better.

Home tuition costs travel and a workable space, and it buys attention that nobody has to manufacture. An IB home tutor in Mumbai matched inside your corridor can hold a weekly slot for a full term and will notice in session two that your child is copying rather than thinking. The limit is supply: the tutor has to live near enough to repeat the trip twenty times, which in Powai, Kasarvadavali or the Navi Mumbai nodes can mean waiting for the right person.

Online buys reach and time. It lets a Borivali family work with a specialist in Belapur, it makes a 7.30pm or 8pm start possible, it survives a flooded Ghodbunder Road and a travelling family, and it allows short frequent sessions that in-person tuition cannot justify. It costs you the small signals, and it asks the student to work while being watched on camera, which some children find harder than the mathematics. An IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai is the right choice when the gap is content and the calendar is the obstacle.

Hybrid is where most of our MYP families settle, and for a younger student it is the arrangement we suggest first: one in-person session a week for the teaching, one or two short online blocks midweek to check two problems before a wrong method sets. If in-person is simply not available in your zone, start online with a review date rather than treating it as permanent. Revisit it after six weeks, and if confidence has not moved, move the arrangement.

  • Lost confidence: someone in the room usually works better
  • Knowledge gap rather than nerves: online performs well
  • Home tuition buys attention; its limit is who lives near you
  • Online buys reach, late slots and short frequent sessions
  • Hybrid first for younger students, with a six-week review date

Checking an online tutor you will never meet in person

Online removes the thing most parents unconsciously rely on, which is meeting somebody and forming a judgement at the door. So the checkable parts have to carry more weight. Every tutor submits government photo identification, degrees and teaching qualifications as documents rather than assertions, and a teaching history with references we follow up. For an IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai we also ask what they teach with: a stylus and tablet, a document camera, a graphics tablet, or a webcam pointed at paper. A tutor whose answer is 'screen share and talk' is not equipped for this age group.

Then do the checks only you can do. Ask for the first session to be recorded, or sit within earshot of it, and listen for the ratio of voices. If your child speaks for less than a third of the hour, the session is a lecture and a lecture is why online tuition gets its reputation. Ask the tutor what they do when a student goes silent on camera, because at this age the silence is not always thinking, and a tutor who fills it immediately will never find out which it was.

Parents comparing options should know that an IB private tutor Mumbai families find directly can be excellent, and that searching 'best IB tutor in Mumbai' sometimes lands on exactly the right person. What a platform adds is unglamorous: identity and qualifications verified before the first session, a written record of what was agreed about time, rate and cancellations, and a replacement handled by a message. IB Gram does not guarantee grades, and a tutor who promises a specific grade for a child they have not taught is describing their sales technique rather than their teaching.

The boundary does not soften because the tutor is remote. A tutor teaches, sets practice and marks practice, including questions they write themselves, and it is genuinely useful between sessions. A tutor never writes, drafts, edits or supplies any part of work your child submits for assessment, and the Year 5 personal project counts. Shared documents make this easier to blur, so be clear about it at the start: your child's file is their own, and a tutor who starts typing into it has crossed a line you should end the arrangement over.

  • Photo ID, degree and teaching documents verified before session one
  • Ask what they teach with: stylus, tablet, document camera, paper
  • Listen to the first session: your child should speak often
  • Ask what they do when a student goes silent on camera
  • Nobody types into a document your child will submit

How do you run an online session a twelve-year-old cannot hide in?

Decide first that the tutor is going to see working appear, not receive answers. Everything else follows from that. In practice it means the camera, or a second device, is pointed at the page while the child writes, or the child writes on a tablet the tutor can see live. A session where the student goes quiet, works alone and then shares a finished photograph has lost the part that mattered: the tutor now has to guess where the thinking stopped, and guessing is what a classroom already does for thirty students at once. An IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai who cannot see the pen move is working half blind.

Second, break the hour. Three blocks of fifteen to twenty minutes with visible output from each works far better at this age than one continuous stretch. Each block ends with something the tutor can look at and the student can keep: two questions fully written, a graph redrawn, one annotated correction. Visible output per block is also the only honest way for a parent to know what happened, since you can look at three artefacts rather than ask a child how it went and hear 'fine'.

Third, the phone goes in another room, and so does the parent's. A notification on the table beside a struggling thirteen-year-old wins every time, and no tutor can out-teach it from a screen. The session itself should run in a shared space with a parent nearby rather than behind a closed bedroom door. That is partly about attention and mostly about ordinary safeguarding: a session an adult can walk past and hear is a session that stays what it is supposed to be. Keep it in the dining room, with the door open, and glance in occasionally.

Fourth, use annotation properly, which is the one thing online does better than paper. The student photographs the page and the tutor marks it up in another colour: an arrow at the exact character where the sign flipped, a circle around the unit that never got written, a note of the step that was skipped. The student keeps that marked copy and the next session opens on it. Over a month those annotated pages become a record of specific, named errors, and a record is what turns weekly sessions into something continuous.

Last, the honest part. If after six weeks of all of this your child is still freezing on camera, still answering in single syllables, still needing you in the room to translate, then the medium is the problem and not the tutor. A student whose confidence has gone usually does better with someone in the room, and we would rather move you to home tuition, or to a hybrid week, than keep a convenient arrangement that is politely going nowhere.

  • Working visible live: a pointed camera or a shared writing surface
  • Three blocks of fifteen to twenty minutes, not one long hour
  • Each block ends with something the parent can look at
  • Phones in another room, including the parent's
  • Shared space with an adult nearby, not a closed bedroom door
  • Annotated photographs in a second colour, kept and reopened next week

What online progress looks like in Mumbai, and when to move in person

At four weeks online, the signal is not marks and it is not the tutor's report. It is whether your child turns the camera on without being asked and starts the first question before the tutor speaks. Those two behaviours tell you the sessions have become a normal part of the week rather than an ordeal. The second signal is the annotated pages: four weeks should have produced a small pile of them, and the errors marked in week one should not all be reappearing in week four.

At one term, look for transfer into school work. Homework started without negotiation, fewer careless slips, a willingness to attempt the last question on a test instead of leaving it blank. Online work shows up first in the places you are not measuring. If twelve weeks of weekly sessions have produced nothing you can name, the problem is the match, the slot, the setup or the medium, and the right response is a conversation that week rather than another term of hoping.

Across a full year, the realistic outcome is a student who can start an unfamiliar problem alone, who checks whether an answer makes sense, and who is not carrying a Year 2 gap into Year 5 algebra. Some students also change mathematics route in that time and many do not, which is normal; what the route means for Diploma Programme choices is the school's policy and a question for the coordinator, not a conclusion to draw from a year of tuition.

The limits, plainly. Online tuition does not fix an attention problem, it does not replace a student's own practice on the other six days, and it is weaker than in-person work for a child who has stopped believing they can do mathematics. One session a week does not close three years of gaps in a month. IB Gram does not guarantee grades or timelines. What we will do is tell you when the medium is the thing holding your child back, and offer home tuition in your zone instead.

  • Four weeks: camera on unprompted, first question started unaided
  • Four weeks: a pile of annotated pages, old errors not all repeating
  • One term: homework started without an argument, fewer careless slips
  • Nothing nameable after twelve weeks means change something now
  • Confidence still falling after six weeks means move in person

Starting with an online tutor: what to set up in your Mumbai flat

Spend twenty minutes on the setup before you spend money on the teaching. Pick the surface, usually the dining table rather than a bed or a lap. Put the device at eye height on something solid so the camera is not looking up a child's nose. Decide how the writing will be seen: a tablet with a stylus, a second phone on a stand pointing at the page, or a document camera if you have one. Then run the call at the exact time of day you intend to use it, because a building's network at 4pm and at 7.30pm are two different networks.

Have the same three things ready that an in-person tutor would want: a photograph of the last marked assessment with the comments visible, the exercise book open at the most recent unit, and the teacher's last written remark copied out. Send them before the session rather than hunting for them during it. The first session should be a diagnostic: few questions, most of the time spent watching your child work, and it should end with two or three named things to fix in a stated order.

Agree the housekeeping in writing before week one: the rate per session, the cancellation window, what happens if the connection fails ten minutes in, and whether marking practice work between sessions is included. The connection question is the one everyone skips and the one that causes the first argument. A reasonable answer is that a session lost to the tutor's internet is rescheduled and a session lost to yours is discussed.

If after six weeks the sessions are working, keep going and consider adding one in-person hour a week. If they are not, say so. We will shortlist again, and for a younger student whose confidence is the real problem we will suggest home tuition in your own zone instead, whether that is Chembur, Khar West, Kharghar or Pokhran Road. The medium should serve the child rather than the convenience.

  • Device at eye height on a solid surface, not a bed or a lap
  • Decide how writing will be seen before the first session
  • Test the call at the exact hour you plan to use it
  • Send the marked assessment and teacher comment in advance
  • Agree rate, cancellations and dropped-connection rules in writing
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

What does an IB MYP standard mathematics online tutor in Mumbai cost?+

There is no single rate and any figure quoted before someone has seen the work is guesswork. IB tuition fees in Mumbai vary with the programme and board, the year group, how scarce that combination is, the session length and, for in-person work, the distance travelled. Online usually removes the travel element, which is one reason families compare the two. Ask every tutor the same four questions in writing: rate per session, cancellation window, whether marking practice work between sessions is included, and what happens when a connection fails mid-session. Those four answers prevent almost every dispute that reaches us later.

Does online tuition really work for a Year 2 or Year 3 student?+

It can, under conditions that most families do not set up by default. The tutor has to see the writing as it happens, the session has to be broken into fifteen or twenty minute blocks with something to show from each, the phone has to be in another room, and a parent needs to be nearby in a shared space rather than the session running behind a closed door. With all four in place, younger students do make real progress remotely. Without them, the hour becomes a conversation about mathematics instead of mathematics. If confidence rather than knowledge is the issue, someone in the room is usually the better answer.

Can we switch to home tuition later if online is not working?+

Yes, and we would rather you asked than persisted. Tell us your zone and your two workable evenings and we shortlist tutors who can travel to you, which is a smaller pool than the online one but often the right one for a younger student. Plenty of families move the other way too, or land on hybrid: one home session a week for the teaching plus a short online check midweek. There is no penalty, no notice period beyond paying for sessions that happened, and no need to explain the decision at length. Six weeks is usually long enough to know.

Will a tutor travel to our building in Powai for a weekday evening slot instead?+

Yes, with the caveat that Powai has no station of its own, so tutors arrive by road from Andheri East, Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar or Chandivali along JVLR. That single road decides whether a 6pm start is realistic; at 6.30pm or 7pm the same trip is far more dependable. Tell us your complex and the earliest workable time, and register the tutor at the gate as a recurring visitor before the first session so the app approval does not cost you fifteen minutes every week. Families who want both often keep one travelling session and one online block midweek.

How do I know my child is actually working during the session?+

Ask for visible output from each block rather than asking how it went. Two fully written questions, a redrawn graph, one annotated correction: three artefacts from an hour that you can look at in thirty seconds. Keep the session in a shared room so you can hear the ratio of voices without supervising the mathematics. A child who speaks rarely and a tutor who speaks continuously is the pattern to worry about, whatever the output looks like. And glance at the annotated pages across a month, because the same error marked four times in a row tells you more than any progress report.

Is a shaky internet connection a reason to choose a home tutor instead?+

Often yes, and it is worth testing before deciding rather than after. Run a video call at the exact hour you intend to use, on the device you will use, because many Mumbai buildings slow noticeably once everyone is home in the evening. If audio breaks up at 7pm in a trial call, it will break up in week six when your child is halfway through a problem, and a thirteen-year-old loses the thread completely when that happens. Where the connection cannot be relied on, home tuition inside your own zone is the better arrangement even if it means a later slot or a wait for the right tutor.

Is being placed on MYP Standard mathematics something to be concerned about?+

No. The route describes a course the school runs, decided by the school together with the family on the basis of classwork over time rather than one test. Standard covers the framework's core content in full. Students reach the Diploma Programme from both routes, and what a route implies for later mathematics options differs from school to school, so ask your MYP coordinator to confirm the policy in writing instead of inferring it. The useful work in the meantime is making the core secure, which keeps options open whatever the school decides later.

Can my child move from Standard to Extended mathematics?+

At schools that separate the routes, usually yes, but the school owns both the timing and the criteria. The window tends to open at the end of an academic year and occasionally at the end of a semester, and schools generally look for sustained work across a period rather than one strong result. Ask the coordinator for the list of additional topics a student would need to cover to join Extended mid-stream. That list is the single most useful thing you can hand a tutor, online or in person, because it converts a wish into a defined piece of work with a deadline on it.

Can the tutor help with the Year 5 personal project over a shared document?+

A tutor can discuss an approach, teach a skill, ask useful questions about the student's own plan and mark practice work. A tutor may not write, draft, edit or supply any part of what your child submits for assessment, and the personal project is included in that. Shared documents make the line easy to blur, which is why it is worth stating at the start: nobody types into the file your child will hand in. If a tutor offers that kind of help, end the arrangement and tell us. It is a straightforward reason for a replacement and we will not ask you to think about it twice.

The online tutor is good but my child does not warm to them. What now?+

Ask us for someone else, and tell us precisely what did not fit: spoke too fast, filled every silence, talked to you rather than to your child, too formal, too jolly. Competence and suitability are different things, and on a screen the manner matters more than it does in a room, because there is nothing else to soften it. Replacement is a message and you pay only for sessions that took place. Our second matches usually work better than the first, because that one sentence about manner tells us something no brief ever contains.

Do you cover Navi Mumbai and Thane, or mainly the Western Suburbs?+

All six zones, online and in person. Online, the zone stops limiting the match, so a Kasarvadavali or Panvel family can work with a specialist in Chembur or Khar West who could never travel there weekly. For in-person work we match locally: Thane within Thane across Pokhran Road, Majiwada and Ghodbunder Road; Navi Mumbai node to node across Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel; the Eastern Suburbs from Chembur and Govandi to Mulund West; and South Mumbai within the island. The Atal Setu and the Eastern Freeway have genuinely shortened some trips, and a weekly evening slot still works best with a tutor who lives nearby.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send the year group, the school, your area and the device your child will use. You get two or three tutors who have taught MYP Standard Mathematics remotely, and two trial sessions before any weekly commitment. The first is a diagnostic with the writing visible, not a lecture. If confidence has not improved in six weeks, tell us and we will shortlist home tutors in your own zone instead.
