IB MYP Standard Mathematics Home Tutor in Mumbai

An IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai is mostly hired for one job: making the core secure. Not more topics, not harder topics. Fractions and proportion that survive a timed test, algebra done slowly enough to become automatic, and a child who starts a question before asking for help. Home tuition across all six zones.

How a home tuition request becomes a shortlist in Mumbai

Write to us once, with four things in it: the year group, the school, your pocket of the city, and a photograph of one page of recent marked mathematics. The photograph does more work than everything else combined. A page with crossed-out restarts tells us something different from a page of neat answers with the wrong signs, and the two call for different tutors. We come back with two or three people who have taught MYP Standard Mathematics, and you talk to them before any money moves.

What we are matching for on a consolidation request is patience of a specific kind. The tutor has to be willing to spend a whole session on four questions, and to let a student sit in silence working rather than filling the gap with explanation. Plenty of capable mathematicians cannot do that. They see the error, they name it, they solve it, and the student watches a performance and learns nothing. Ask any candidate how long they will let a child struggle before stepping in. If the number is under a minute, the sessions will be comfortable and useless.

Then we fix the logistics before the teaching, because for an IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai the slot is what fails first. We ask which two weekday evenings genuinely repeat, who will be at home, and where in the flat the session will happen. A family in Mulund West that answers 'Monday and Wednesday, my mother is home, the dining table' gets a match that holds. A family that answers 'whenever works' gets rescheduling messages by week four.

You are not locked in. If the second session feels wrong, write to us rather than waiting for a report card to prove it. Replacement takes a message, and you pay only for the sessions that took place.

  • 1. Send year group, school, area and one photo of marked mathematics
  • 2. We shortlist tutors with MYP Standard Mathematics teaching history
  • 3. Ask each one how long they let a student struggle before intervening
  • 4. Agree the day, time, room and who will be at home
  • 5. First session is diagnostic and works from your child's own book

Where the Standard route sits inside the Middle Years Programme

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) covers five years and eight subject groups: language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical and health education, and design. Mathematics is one of those eight. In the later years, schools that offer two mathematics routes label them Standard and Extended. Standard teaches the framework's core content for the year group in full; Extended carries additional topics beyond that core.

For a parent arranging tuition, the route matters less than the year group and the specific gap. A Year 2 student who cannot hold a fraction and a decimal as the same object will struggle in either route. A Year 5 student on Standard who has automatic algebra and reads questions carefully is in better shape than a Year 5 student on Extended who is a term behind on content. The label describes a course a school decided to run; it does not describe what your child can do on a given Tuesday.

Which route a student follows is decided by the school together with the family, from classwork across a year and the subject teacher's read on pace, not from one assessment. The schools in this city handle it differently: some split classes from Year 4, some from Year 5, some differentiate inside one class and never announce a route at all. Your MYP coordinator is the only source worth quoting on your own school's practice, and it is worth asking what the school's policy is before term rather than during a reporting week.

Requests of this kind sit in our listings as an 'MYP subject groups IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Years 1-5 tutor Mumbai' requirement, which sounds bureaucratic and simply means a tutor is matched to a year group as well as to a subject. A tutor who is good with Year 1 and Year 2 students is often not the person for a Year 5 student juggling the personal project.

  • Eight MYP subject groups; mathematics is one of them
  • Standard teaches the core content for the year group in full
  • Extended carries additional topics beyond the same core
  • Year group and the specific gap matter more than the route label
  • Your school's route policy comes from the coordinator, in writing

Which parts of MYP Standard Mathematics actually need consolidating?

Almost always three: proportional reasoning, algebraic manipulation, and reading a question properly. Everything else in the course rests on those. A student who is solid on all three can meet a new topic and make progress alone. A student who is shaky on any one of them meets each new topic as a separate mystery, which is why the work feels endless from inside.

Proportional reasoning is the big one and it hides. Fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, scale, rates and similar triangles are one idea in six costumes, and a student who has learned six separate procedures will pass a chapter test on each and fall apart when a question mixes them. The test is diagnostic rather than dramatic: ask your child what a twenty per cent rise followed by a twenty per cent fall leaves you with. If the answer is 'the same', the procedures are memorised and the idea underneath is missing, and that is a term of genuine work for a home tutor rather than a weekend fix.

Algebraic manipulation needs the opposite treatment. It does not need understanding so much as it needs to become automatic, and automatic comes from doing it slowly and correctly enough times that the hand stops making sign errors. Expanding a bracket with a negative in front of it is the classic. Most MYP students can explain the rule and still get it wrong at speed, because they are thinking about it. A good tutor slows that down deliberately, which feels like going backwards and is the fastest route forward.

Marking in MYP mathematics uses four criteria, A to D, covering knowing and understanding, investigating patterns, communicating, and applying mathematics in real-life contexts. Consolidation pays off in the communicating strand quickly, because a student who has slowed down starts writing the reasoning rather than the answer. The band descriptors and the way criterion marks convert into reported levels sit in the current subject guide and the school's assessment policy, so ask the coordinator for those documents instead of taking numbers from a tutor or a web page, this one included.

  • Proportional reasoning: fractions, percentages, ratio, rates, scale, similarity
  • Algebraic manipulation drilled slowly until signs stop going wrong
  • Reading the question: what is asked, in what units, to what accuracy
  • Test at home: twenty per cent up then twenty per cent down
  • Criteria A to D reward written reasoning, not only final answers

Home tuition across the six Mumbai zones, and the table it happens on

Two separate questions decide whether home classes work: can a tutor reach you every week, and is there somewhere in the flat to actually work. We cover Mumbai, Maharashtra in six zones and ask both questions in every zone. In South Mumbai, through Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Worli and Parel, the flats are often older and the study surface is a dining table in a room the whole family passes through. The travel is short and unreliable: the Western Line into Churchgate and Mumbai Central, the Harbour Line to Dockyard, Metro Line 3 from Cuffe Parade to BKC and the Coastal Road all help, and the Haji Ali and Peddar Road signals still eat twenty minutes, so an IB home tutor in Mumbai covering the island is matched within the island.

The Western Suburbs, from Bandra and Khar West through Santacruz West, Juhu and Andheri to Goregaon East (JVLR), Malad, Kandivali East, Borivali and Dahisar East, carry the heaviest concentration of MYP families and the most tower blocks with a small second bedroom that works beautifully as a study. The Western Line, Metro Line 1 from Versova through Andheri to Ghatkopar, Metro Lines 2A and 7 from Dahisar to Gundavali, the Western Express Highway and Link Road make north-south movement workable off-peak and grim at six. IB home tuition in Mumbai booked here is nearly always matched along the line rather than across it, and the search people type is some version of 'IB tutors near me Mumbai' for exactly that reason.

In the Central Suburbs, Powai, Chandivali, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion, the newer complexes have clubhouse study rooms, which sound ideal and are frequently noisy and bookable only in the afternoon. The flat is usually better. Tutors come in by road along JVLR, the Eastern Express Highway or the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR), since Powai has no station of its own. The Eastern Suburbs, running Chembur, Govandi, Wadala, Vikhroli and Bhandup up to Mulund West on the Central and Harbour lines with the Eastern Freeway cutting through to the island, is where MYP subject groups home classes Mumbai parents arrange tend to be early evening, local, and in a bedroom with the door open.

Navi Mumbai works node by node, Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel, along Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway with the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines, Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 from Belapur to Pendhar, and the Atal Setu now shortening the trip from the island. The flats here are the most study-friendly in the region, often with a proper desk in a separate room. Thane runs from the station east across Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Ghodbunder Road and out to Kasarvadavali, where the road itself writes the timetable: twenty minutes off-peak, close to an hour in the evening. A home tutor for MYP subject groups Mumbai families book in Thane needs to live in Thane for the arrangement to last a term.

Whatever the zone, three things matter more than the postcode: a table at the right height, light that does not come from a phone, and a door or a curtain between the session and the television. Tell us what you have and the tutor plans around it instead of discovering it in week one.

  • South Mumbai: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Worli, Parel
  • Western Suburbs: Bandra, Khar West, Santacruz West, Juhu, Borivali, Dahisar East
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Sion, reached by road
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Govandi, Wadala, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund West
  • Navi Mumbai: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Panvel, node to node
  • Thane: Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Ghodbunder Road, Kasarvadavali, matched locally

What a Mumbai school term asks of a Standard mathematics student

Consolidation work needs a run of uninterrupted weeks, and the Mumbai school year only offers a few. The best of them is the stretch from the June start into the middle of July, before the first summative unit assessments arrive and while the class is still settling. Work done there is quiet, unhurried and never wasted, which is why we ask families thinking about next year to start in June rather than in September when the first marks have already landed.

From August onwards the calendar starts pulling in the other direction. Unit assessments arrive on their own schedule, and a parent who began consolidation in July will watch the tutor get asked to drop it and prepare for Thursday's test instead. Occasionally that is right. Mostly it is the trap: three weeks of test preparation produces one decent mark and leaves the underlying gap exactly where it was. A tutor worth keeping will tell you that out loud rather than quietly obliging.

January and February are the tightest weeks in the year, with reporting and new unit work stacked together, and February is when the temptation to abandon slow work is strongest. March and April bring end-of-year assessments, and for Year 4 and Year 5 families the conversation about mathematics routes. The May gap before the new year starts is the second genuinely useful consolidation window, and it is the one most families waste.

Families we work with attend schools right across the city, among them Aditya Birla World Academy in Tardeo, Bombay International School at Babulnath, Jamnabai Narsee International School in Juhu, Oberoi International School at Goregaon East (JVLR), Witty International School in Malad and Chembur, Thakur International School in Kandivali East and Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with any of them, or with the International Baccalaureate organisation. We name them because their calendars are the ones our tutors schedule around, and each school sets its own assessment dates and its own mathematics route policy.

  • June to mid-July is the cleanest consolidation window of the year
  • August onwards, unit assessments start competing with slow work
  • February is when families abandon consolidation for test preparation
  • March and April bring year-end assessments and route conversations
  • The May gap before the new year is the most wasted opportunity

Why consolidation goes better with a home tutor than with a screen

Consolidation is watching, not explaining, and watching is what a screen is worst at. An IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai sitting beside your child sees the pencil hover, the line started and abandoned, the glance sideways for reassurance. All of that happens before any answer exists, and all of it is the actual diagnostic information. Online, the tutor usually receives a finished attempt and has to reconstruct what went wrong from the wreckage.

The honest costs of home tuition are travel and space. Travel narrows your choice of tutor to people who can realistically repeat the trip every week for twenty weeks, which is a smaller group than the one that can come once. Space means a cleared surface and a household that treats the hour as booked. For this age group a session in a shared room with an adult somewhere nearby works better than a closed door, and it also removes any question about supervision.

Online has real uses on this kind of work, not as an equal alternative. A short midweek session to look at two problems from the week's homework suits a screen perfectly. A late slot after an evening activity, a family travelling, a week when Ghodbunder Road or the Eastern Express Highway is impassable, or a scarce year-group requirement where the right IB online tutor in Mumbai is in a different zone: all good reasons. The requirement is that the tutor can see the page as it is being written, through a stylus, a shared tablet or a camera pointed at the paper.

Most families on consolidation work end up hybrid by the second term, and it is a sensible place to land. One home session for the slow work, one short online check midweek to catch an error while it is still fresh. The in-person hour carries the teaching; the online twenty minutes stops a week of wrong practice setting like concrete.

  • Home tutoring shows the hesitation, which is the real diagnostic
  • Travel narrows the tutor list to people who can repeat it weekly
  • Shared room with an adult nearby beats a closed door at this age
  • Online needs the page visible as it is written, not after
  • Hybrid: one home session plus a short midweek online error check

How do you tell a consolidating tutor from one who just sets drill?

Watch one session and count who is holding the pencil. In a consolidation session the student writes for most of the hour and the tutor writes almost nothing. In a drill session the tutor demonstrates, the student copies, and both leave satisfied. The second kind produces a full notebook, a pleasant hour and no transfer to a test, and it is the most common way weekly tuition quietly fails for a year.

Before that, we do the checkable part. Every tutor submits government photo identification, degree and teaching certificates as documents, and a teaching history with references we can follow. For an IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai we ask which MYP year groups they have taught, whether they have taught the Standard route, and whether they have marked work against criteria A to D. Then ask them your own question: how would they teach a student who gets the same sign error every week for a month. An answer about more practice is a drill answer. An answer about slowing down, writing one step per line and checking the first line against the question is a teaching answer.

Parents also ask about hiring directly. An IB private tutor Mumbai families find through a school group can be very good, and plenty of people search 'best IB tutor in Mumbai' and land on someone excellent. A platform adds documents checked before the first session, a written record of what was agreed, and a replacement that does not require a difficult phone call. IB Gram does not guarantee grades, and a tutor who promises a specific grade before meeting your child is telling you how they do business.

The hard boundary: tutors teach, set practice, and mark practice work, including questions they write themselves. No tutor writes, drafts, edits or supplies any part of work your child submits for assessment, and that includes the Year 5 personal project. Consolidation work makes this easier to hold, because the whole method depends on the student producing the work. A tutor who offers to help with a submission has misunderstood the job badly enough that you should ask us for someone else.

  • Count who holds the pencil: the student should write most of the hour
  • Photo ID, degree and teaching documents verified before session one
  • Ask how they would fix a sign error repeating for a month
  • Ask which MYP year groups and which route they have taught
  • Tutors mark practice only, never work submitted for assessment

What does an hour of consolidation work actually look like?

The curriculum is your child's own mistakes, written down. A tutor doing this properly keeps a running list at the back of the exercise book: the error, the date, and the question it came from. Not 'weak in algebra'. Something closer to 'drops the minus when the bracket is subtracted, third time, 14 August'. After a fortnight that list is a far better teaching plan than any textbook chapter order, because it is specific to one student and it is evidence rather than impression.

A typical hour starts with two questions from the list, chosen because they failed before and not because they are next. The student attempts them alone while the tutor watches and says nothing for a minute and a half. That silence is the whole technique and it is uncomfortable for everyone the first three times. Children in this programme have usually learned that hesitating produces a hint, and the habit has to be unlearned before anything else can be taught. Then the tutor asks what the student was thinking, not what the answer is, and teaches from the gap between the two.

The second half takes one new idea and does it four times slowly rather than twenty times fast. Four correct, fully written attempts build the automatic version; twenty rushed ones build a faster version of the same error. The session ends with the student saying out loud what went wrong today and writing one line about it. That closing line is not a formality; it is the thing that makes the next session continuous with this one rather than a fresh start.

Two warnings. This method looks slow from outside, and a parent watching the first month will see four questions an hour and wonder what they are paying for. The second month is where it starts showing, usually as a child attempting homework without calling for help. And it genuinely does not suit every student: one who is simply behind on content because of a school change or illness needs covering ground, not slowing down, and a good tutor will say so in the first session rather than apply one method to everybody.

  • Keep an error log: the mistake, the date, the question it came from
  • Open with two questions that failed before, not the next ones
  • Ninety seconds of silence before the tutor says anything
  • Ask what the student was thinking, not what the answer is
  • Four slow correct attempts beat twenty rushed ones
  • Student writes one closing line on what went wrong today

Consolidation or stagnation: telling them apart in Mumbai

Slow work and no work look identical for about three weeks, which is why parents keep paying for stagnation. The difference shows in four signals, and all four are visible from the kitchen without understanding the mathematics. First, the error log should be getting shorter at the top: an error that appeared four times in August should not be appearing in October. Second, the waiting time should be growing, the gap between a hard question and a shout for help going from nothing to a few minutes. Third, the student should be starting homework without negotiation. Fourth, the tutor should be able to name what changed this month.

Stagnation has its own signature. The same error returns after being declared fixed three times. Every session opens with the tutor re-teaching the basics from scratch, which means nothing is being retained between sessions. The notebook is full and the test marks are flat. Worst, the tutor talks about attitude and effort and cannot name a single topic. One month of that is information; two months is a decision you should make rather than postpone.

On realistic timelines: four weeks shows method appearing on the page, one term shows school topic tests steadying and homework arguments ending, and a full year shows a student who starts problems unprompted and sanity-checks an answer before handing it in. Route changes sometimes follow and sometimes do not; a student who stays on Standard with a secure core is in a good position either way, and what happens next in the Diploma Programme depends on the school's own policy rather than on this year's label.

The limits said plainly: one hour a week does not close three years of gaps in a month, no tutor controls whether a twelve-year-old decides to care, and IB Gram does not guarantee grades or timelines. What a weekly arrangement should guarantee is information, so that within four weeks you know whether this tutor, this slot and this method are working for your child.

  • Error log shrinking at the top: old mistakes stop reappearing
  • Waiting time before asking for help getting longer each month
  • Homework started without an argument about starting it
  • Stagnation sign: every session re-teaches the basics from scratch
  • Stagnation sign: the tutor discusses attitude, never a topic

Booking an IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai

Three things to have ready, and none of them take long. A photograph of the last marked assessment with the comments visible, the exercise book open at the most recent unit, and the teacher's last written remark copied out exactly. Then the practical half: which two evenings repeat every week, which room, and who will be in the flat. A tutor who knows all of that before arriving spends the first hour diagnosing rather than interviewing you.

The first session should feel underwhelming, and that is the sign it is being done properly. The tutor will go back a year or two on purpose, because an algebra failure in Year 4 is usually a fractions failure from Year 2 in a new outfit. They will set very few questions and watch all of them being done. They should finish by naming two or three specific things to fix and the order to fix them in, which is a plan you can hold them to in four weeks.

Set one household rule before week one: the phone stays in another room for the hour, including yours if you are sitting nearby. Half of what looks like a mathematics problem at this age is an attention problem with a notification behind it, and no tutor can out-teach a buzzing table.

If you are deciding between starting now and waiting for the next report, start now. A report gives you a number; one diagnostic session tells you which topic is actually broken, and in our experience of Mumbai families those two rarely point at the same thing. Waiting until February means consolidating in the worst month of the year.

  • Photo of the last marked assessment, comments visible
  • Exercise book open at the most recent unit
  • Teacher's last written comment copied out exactly
  • Two repeating evenings, a named room, an adult in the flat
  • Phones in another room for the hour, parents included
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

What does an IB MYP standard mathematics home tutor in Mumbai cost?+

There is no flat rate, and a figure quoted before anyone has seen the work is invented. IB tuition fees in Mumbai follow the programme and board, the year group, how scarce that combination is near you, the distance travelled and the session length. A Year 2 slot in Khar West and a Year 5 slot in Panvel with route-change work attached are different jobs with different prices. Ask every tutor four questions in writing before the first session: the rate per session, what travel they expect covered, the cancellation terms, and whether marking practice work between sessions is included. Those four answers prevent nearly every later argument.

Can a tutor travel to our building in Kharghar for an evening slot?+

Yes, if the tutor is based in Navi Mumbai, which is why we match node to node rather than citywide. Kharghar, Panvel, Belapur, Nerul and Vashi are each a short drive apart on Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, and a tutor from any of those nodes will hold a weekday evening slot for a full term. A tutor crossing from the island city, even with the Atal Setu, usually manages a month before asking to move the time. Tell us your node and the earliest workable start, and register the tutor at the gate as a recurring visitor before session one.

My child understands it in the session and forgets by the weekend. Why?+

Because understanding and retention are different things, and most tuition only produces the first. If the tutor explains and your child follows, the hour feels successful and nothing has been practised. Retention comes from the student producing the work, struggling a little, and writing the method down in their own hand. Ask to see what your child wrote during the last session. If the page is mostly the tutor's handwriting or mostly copied steps, that is the whole answer. A consolidation approach fixes this directly: fewer questions, the student writing all of them, and old errors revisited deliberately weeks later.

Is one hour a week of home tuition enough for consolidation?+

Usually yes for the teaching, and only if something happens on the other six days. One focused hour plus two short stretches of the student's own practice beats three hours of sitting with a tutor and nothing in between, because the automatic part of algebra is built by repetition the student does alone. What the hour is for is diagnosis, method and correction. Ask the tutor to set fifteen minutes of work for two other days, specific questions rather than a chapter, and to start the next session by looking at it. If nothing is set, the arrangement is doing half the job.

Does my child need separate help for every MYP subject group?+

No, and the usual mistake is adding tutors rather than fixing the bottleneck. Mathematics is one of the eight MYP subject groups, and when mathematics is shaky the sciences start looking shaky too, because the arithmetic and proportional reasoning sit underneath both. Fix the mathematics core and some of the science difficulty resolves itself without a second tutor. An MYP subject groups tutor in Mumbai covering several subjects at once is occasionally the right answer for an organisational problem, but for a specific gap in proportional reasoning or algebra, one subject specialist for one hour beats three generalists.

Should a parent sit in the room during home classes?+

Within earshot, yes; at the table, no. For MYP-age students a session in a shared space with an adult nearby works better than a closed door, and it settles the supervision question without discussion. Sitting at the table changes the dynamic: the child performs for you, or appeals to you when a question gets hard, and the tutor loses the silence the method needs. The sweet spot is the next room with the door open. Listen for whether your child is talking, because a session where the tutor does all the talking is the single most reliable sign that the hour is being wasted.

Is being placed on the Standard route a sign of a problem?+

No. It is a decision about which course a student takes, made by the school with the family, from classwork across a year rather than any single test. Standard mathematics covers the framework's core content in full. Students reach the Diploma Programme from both routes, and what the route means for later mathematics choices is set by each school's own policy, so ask your MYP coordinator to put that policy in writing rather than assuming it from a report line. What a tutor can usefully do meanwhile is make the core secure, which keeps the options open whatever the school decides.

How long before we see this in school marks?+

Expect method on the page within four weeks and marks moving over a term, not a fortnight. Consolidation targets the foundation that sits underneath the topic currently being assessed, so the first improvements show up in places you are not watching: fewer careless errors, homework started without a fight, a willingness to attempt the last question on a paper. School topic tests follow once the current unit happens to rest on something that has been rebuilt. If three months of weekly sessions have changed nothing you can name, that is a conversation to have immediately rather than a reason to add a fourth month.

Can the tutor mark my child's work or help with the personal project?+

A tutor can mark practice work freely, including questions they set or write themselves, and that marking is one of the most useful things they do between sessions. A tutor cannot write, draft, edit or supply any part of anything your child submits for assessment, and the Year 5 personal project is included in that. Teaching the skills, discussing an approach and reviewing the student's own planning is fine; producing content is not. If a tutor offers to help in the second way, treat it as a reason to end the arrangement and ask us for a replacement.

What if the tutor is a good teacher but not right for my child?+

Message us and we shortlist again, usually within a day or two. There is nothing to justify and nothing to pay for sessions that did not happen. It helps enormously to tell us exactly what did not fit: too fast, too formal, too gentle, filled every silence, talked to you instead of to your child. Consolidation work depends on a specific manner, and competence is not the same as suitability. Most of our second matches succeed because the first one told us something about the student that no brief ever would.

Do you arrange home tuition in Thane and the Eastern Suburbs, or only the west?+

All six zones. Thane is matched inside Thane, across Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Ghodbunder Road and Kasarvadavali, because the Ghodbunder stretch alone can swallow an hour in the evening peak. The Eastern Suburbs run from Chembur and Govandi through Wadala, Vikhroli and Bhandup to Mulund West, served by the Central and Harbour lines and the Eastern Freeway. South Mumbai, the Western Suburbs, the Central Suburbs around Powai and Chandivali, and the Navi Mumbai nodes are all covered the same way, with tutors matched locally so the weekly slot does not depend on a good traffic day.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send the year group, the school, your area and a photograph of one page of marked mathematics. You get two or three tutors who have taught MYP Standard Mathematics, with their teaching history, and you speak to each before committing. The first session is a diagnostic built from your child's own errors. Ask for the error log after four weeks; if nothing on it has changed, ask us for a different tutor.
