IB & IGCSE Home Tuition in Santacruz West, Mumbai

Requests for IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West usually come from a household straddling both systems: one child finishing Cambridge Year 11, another in a Diploma Programme campus in Juhu, or one student crossing from one to the other. This page is about hiring well for that split, which is common in this part of Mumbai.

Matching one brief that covers two boards

A dual-board household is two briefs that share a front door, and treating it as one brief is how families end up with a tutor who suits neither child. So we split it at the start. For each student: programme and year, the board, the subject where marks are actually falling, the level or tier, and what the last report said in words. Then we add the household-level facts: the evening windows available, whether the two students can be taught consecutively, and whether anybody needs to be home. IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West is easiest to arrange when those household facts arrive with the academic ones rather than three emails later.

What follows is short. 1. Send one message with both briefs and the household constraints. 2. We filter the verified pool per student by subject at the right level and board, and only then by route. 3. Where one tutor can credibly serve both children, we say so and explain why; where they cannot, we say that instead and propose two. 4. You take free discovery calls, one per tutor, and home tuition starts after you confirm. 5. Reviews run at two to four weeks, separately for each child, because one child improving does not tell you anything about the other.

Step three is the one worth reading twice. One tutor for two children is cheaper, simpler to schedule and better for the household, and it is only honest when the overlap is real: two children in Mathematics, two in the sciences, or a Cambridge Year 10 and a Diploma Programme first-year where the tutor has genuinely taught both. It is not honest when the overlap is merely that both children exist. A tutor stretched across a Primary Years Programme child and an Extended-tier Chemistry student is doing two jobs badly in one evening, and the second one is the one that costs you a grade.

Where we cannot fill a brief we say no quickly. The combinations that come up short here are predictable: a Pearson Edexcel subject with thin local supply, a Diploma Programme second language, and the all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Santacruz West wide request where one person is expected to cover everything from PYP to DP2. Hearing that in a day lets you make a plan. Hearing it in week five does not.

  • One brief per child, plus household constraints, in a single message
  • Board and level filters run per student before any route filter
  • One tutor for two children only when the subject overlap is real
  • Reviews run separately per child at two to four weeks
  • Free discovery call per tutor; lessons start after you confirm
  • A quick no leaves time for a workable alternative

What transfers from IGCSE to the IB Diploma, and what does not

Content transfers well and habits transfer badly, and almost every difficulty in the crossover year comes from that asymmetry. A student finishing Cambridge International Education at Extended tier arrives in the Diploma Programme (DP) with strong content coverage and strong past-paper instincts, both genuinely useful. What she has usually not developed is the thing the Diploma Programme assesses hardest: designing her own question, defending a method, writing against published criteria rather than a mark scheme she has internalised, and sustaining a piece of work over months rather than days. The Extended Essay (EE) and the internal assessments are where that gap shows, and they show late.

In the other direction, a student moving from the Middle Years Programme (MYP) into Cambridge Year 10 has usually been marked against criteria for years and has never met a grade boundary that will not negotiate. She is often strong on research and reflection and underprepared for the specific discipline of a timed paper: reading the command term, allocating minutes, showing method, and abandoning a question that is costing too much. Both crossovers are fixable in a term, and both are badly served by a tutor who only knows one board, because the tutor will teach the content and miss the transferable skill entirely.

Worth saying once: structures, tier availability and component requirements are revised by the International Baccalaureate and by the examination boards on their own cycles, so anything a tutor quotes from memory should be checked against the current subject guide or syllabus, and your school's coordinator holds the position that applies to your child's session. A tutor who reaches for the current document rather than their recollection is telling you something useful about how they will handle the rest of the year.

For a household running both systems at once, the practical consequence is a vocabulary problem as much as an academic one. The Cambridge child talks about tiers and papers; the IB child talks about levels, criteria and internal assessments. Parents end up translating. An IB and IGCSE private tutor Santacruz West families keep for more than a year is usually one who can hold both vocabularies without confusing them, and that is a fair thing to test directly on a call rather than assume from a profile.

  • Content transfers between the systems; working habits do not
  • Cambridge students arrive strong on papers, weak on self-designed work
  • MYP students arrive strong on reflection, weak on timed-paper discipline
  • Both gaps close in a term with a tutor who knows both systems
  • Check structures against the current guide, not a tutor's memory

Subject choice twice over: options at 14, HL and SL at 16

A dual-board household makes the same decision twice in three years, under different rules, and the two decisions interact. At fourteen the Cambridge child picks options, constrained as much by timetable blocks as by ability, and the choice quietly closes some routes two years ahead. At sixteen the Diploma Programme student picks six subjects split between Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL), and the constraint there is workload shape rather than availability: three essay-heavy HL subjects collide in the same fortnight, and HL Physics without HL Mathematics means meeting mathematics that is assumed rather than taught.

The interaction is the part nobody flags. If the younger child drops a science at options stage, the HL science route at sixteen is effectively closed, and nobody says so at the options evening because the options evening is about the next two years. In a household where an older sibling is already in the Diploma Programme, you have information the school does not volunteer: you have watched what HL actually demands. Use it. The most valuable hour a tutor can give a dual-board family is not teaching at all, it is mapping the younger child's option sheet against what the older child's HL subjects turned out to require.

On assessed components, both systems have work that is not an exam and both reward planning over ability there. Cambridge subjects carry internally assessed or alternative-to-practical components where marks are lost to administration: a deadline missed, a method written without the required detail, a draft never shown to the teacher. Diploma Programme subjects carry internal assessments with published criteria where marks are lost to answering the wrong criterion beautifully. A tutor who asks both children's schools for internal deadline dates in week one has done this before. One who asks only about topics has not.

A limit, stated plainly because the search results blur it. A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents imagine hiring does not exist as one person, and pages offering all IB and IGCSE subjects IGCSE Years 9-11 tutor Mumbai coverage behind a single number are describing a panel. For a two-child household the realistic structures are: one tutor across both children in the same subject area, or two tutors who each own one child. Searching for an all IB and IGCSE subjects tutor in Santacruz West to cover four subjects and two programmes is searching for a rota.

  • Options at fourteen quietly constrain HL choices at sixteen
  • Three essay-heavy HL subjects collide in one DP2 fortnight
  • HL Physics without HL Mathematics means assumed, untaught mathematics
  • Both systems lose marks to coursework administration, not ability
  • Ask for both schools' internal deadline dates in week one
  • Realistic structures: one subject area across children, or one tutor each

Where IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West actually reaches

The IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West that we arrange works across a radius of four areas: Santacruz West itself, Khar West, Juhu and Vile Parle West. For a two-child household in this part of Mumbai that radius matters more than usual, because you are asking a tutor to hold a long evening rather than a single slot. Santacruz station sits on the Western Line between Bandra and Dahisar, Linking Road runs through the area, and Link Road gives a parallel when the Western Express Highway has stopped. A tutor who arrives at 5.30pm and leaves at 8pm has given you most of her evening, and she will only keep doing it if getting here and getting home are both reasonable.

The directional rule in the Western Suburbs is worth applying literally. The suburbs run north to south along the Western Express Highway and the Western Line, so a tutor travelling between Bandra and Andheri is quick off-peak and painful at six in the evening. Matching along the line, Khar to Santacruz or Malad to Kandivali, works far better than matching across it. For consecutive sessions the arithmetic is unforgiving: a tutor crossing the suburbs to start at 5.30pm will be late for the first child and tired for the second, and both halves of your arrangement will degrade together.

Transport gives you more options here than the map suggests. Metro Line 1 runs Versova to Andheri to Ghatkopar, Metro Lines 2A and 7 come down from the north, and the Western Line does the daily work. A tutor arriving by train at Santacruz is more weather-proof in July than one driving in from Goregaon, which matters when two children are depending on the same visit. Parking around Linking Road in the evening peak is the usual friction, so ask how a candidate travels before you set a 7pm start.

The geographic spread also explains why dual-board households are so common in this pocket of Mumbai. The Cambridge campuses are here, in Santacruz itself, while much of the local IB provision sits in Juhu and Bandra. A family that keeps one child at a nearby Cambridge school and sends another to a Diploma Programme campus a few kilometres away is making an entirely rational set of decisions, and the result is two school calendars inside one flat. IB and IGCSE tutors near me Santacruz West searches from this area are very often that household, not a single student.

  • Working radius: Santacruz West, Khar West, Juhu, Vile Parle West
  • Consecutive sessions need a tutor whose journey has slack in it
  • Along the Western Line is fast; across the suburbs at 6pm is not
  • Train-arriving tutors are more reliable in July than drivers
  • Linking Road evening parking is the usual practical friction
  • Cambridge campuses are local; much IB provision sits in Juhu and Bandra

Why two boards share one Santacruz term calendar

Podar International School and Billabong High International School both run Santacruz campuses, and Ecole Mondiale World School sits across in Juhu offering the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Podar International School, Billabong High International School, Ecole Mondiale World School or any school named anywhere on this page. They appear because the calendar they create is the single hardest thing to schedule around in a dual-board household.

The specific local fact: because Podar International and Billabong High both have Santacruz campuses, the Year 9 to Year 11 Cambridge pipeline here is large and term dates across those campuses are tightly shared. For a household with one child inside that pipeline and another at a Diploma Programme campus, the result is two assessment calendars that neither align nor stay politely apart. Cambridge mocks fill a known fortnight in the new year. Diploma Programme internal assessment drafts and the Extended Essay fall on their own schedule. In some years those windows overlap and one evening has to serve two children in crisis at once.

This is where planning beats effort, and it is the main thing that separates families who sustain IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West for two years from those who stop after a term. Ask both schools, in writing, at the start of the year, for the internal assessment and mock dates. Put them on one calendar. The collisions become visible months ahead, and the response is a scheduling decision rather than an emergency: shift the Cambridge child's extra sessions earlier, protect the Diploma Programme child's draft fortnight, and book the tutor's additional hours before every other family in the area needs them. Parents who do this once never go back to reacting.

The crunch weeks also move price and availability, and it is better to know that than to discover it. The small number of tutors in this area with real Extended-tier and Higher Level experience are committed early, and IB and IGCSE tuition fees in Santacruz West reflect scarcity like any other market. The practical consequence is simple: hire a term before the squeeze. The lesson rate is the same in October as in January, and the person available in October is not the person available in January.

  • Podar International and Billabong High both run Santacruz campuses
  • Shared Cambridge term dates concentrate mocks into one fortnight
  • Diploma Programme drafts follow a different, sometimes overlapping schedule
  • Ask both schools for internal dates in writing at the start of the year
  • Put both calendars on one page and the collisions appear months ahead
  • Hire a term early: the rate is the same, the people are not

Can one home tutor in Santacruz West handle both boards?

Yes, when the subject area is shared and the tutor has genuinely taught both systems, and no when either condition is missing. One tutor covering Mathematics for a Cambridge Year 10 and a Diploma Programme first-year is a real and good arrangement: the mathematics overlaps substantially, and the tutor is switching assessment logic rather than subject. One tutor covering Cambridge Chemistry and Diploma Programme English is two different people being asked to be one. The honest test is whether you would hire each half separately. If the answer is no for one half, the saving is not a saving.

Format, in order of usefulness for a two-child household. Home tuition first, because consecutive sessions in your own flat remove two drop-offs from your week and let a tutor hand one child a task while starting the other. Most of the IB and IGCSE home classes in Santacruz West we arrange for dual-board families run as a long early-evening block twice weekly. The cost is rigidity: the block cannot move by forty minutes because one child has a school event, and when it does move, both children lose the session.

Online is the right answer for the scarce half of a dual brief. If your Cambridge child needs Mathematics, which has real local depth, and your Diploma Programme child needs a second language, which does not, the sensible structure is a local tutor at home for one and an IB and IGCSE online tutor in Santacruz West for the other. That mixed arrangement is far commoner than people expect and it works, provided you accept that the online half needs more parental attention to attendance, because a screen cannot see a teenager with a second tab open.

Hybrid is where most dual-board households land by the second term. One home block a week for both children, teaching and accountability, plus separate online sessions for problem sets and marked work at times that suit each child individually. It halves the tutor's travel, which materially widens who will keep a long evening slot through July, and it stops the younger child's session being squeezed every time the older child's deadline arrives. The best IB and IGCSE tutor in Santacruz West for your household is frequently two people with a sensible division of the week.

  • One tutor for both boards works when the subject area is shared
  • Test it by asking whether you would hire each half separately
  • A long consecutive home block removes two drop-offs from your week
  • Its cost is rigidity: when the block moves, both children lose
  • Pair a local tutor for the deep subject with online for the scarce one
  • Hybrid stops the younger child being squeezed by the older one's deadlines

How do you check a tutor who claims both boards?

Ask about each board separately and listen for asymmetry. Which board's papers have you prepared students for, and across how many series each? Have you supervised a Diploma Programme internal assessment, and what was the hardest part? Have you taken a student through an Extended-tier Cambridge paper, and which component did they lose most on? A tutor strong in both will answer both pairs with specifics. A tutor strong in one will answer one pair with specifics and the other with generalities, and that pattern is easy to hear once you are listening for it.

Our checking covers identity, qualifications, and the specific claim to have taught each named subject at each named level or tier, for each board. Where a claim is not evidenced, the profile records it as unevidenced rather than presenting it as confirmed, because on a dual-board profile the unevidenced half is usually the one you are about to rely on. What verification cannot test is fit with two different children in one household, which is why the discovery call is free and why we would rather you took two calls than one.

Then the checking only you can do, and in a dual-board household it has an extra dimension. In the first three sessions, be in the flat and listen to the ratio of talk for each child, not just the one you were worried about. The quieter child in a consecutive block is the one who gets the tired half hour. Check that both children get a handover, not one combined message, because a combined message hides which half of the evening actually worked. Three weeks of one-line household updates is a signal.

Two warnings. Be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade for either child; nobody knows what a moderator will do with a script in June, and on a dual brief the promise is twice as unlikely. And be wary of a tutor who claims equal fluency across both systems and every subject your household needs. That claim is almost always a panel, and a panel will not notice that your younger child has stopped writing methods down.

  • Ask about each board separately; listen for asymmetry in the detail
  • Specifics on one board and generalities on the other is the tell
  • Unevidenced claims are labelled, which matters most on dual profiles
  • Listen to the ratio of talk for both children, not just one
  • Insist on a handover per child, never one combined household message
  • Be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade

The Year 11 to DP1 bridge that nobody timetables

The crossover summer is the most consequential and least supported period in a dual-board family's calendar, and it is almost entirely invisible. A student finishes Cambridge Year 11 in one system, has a long gap, and starts the Diploma Programme in another. School hands over at the start of DP1 and begins teaching content. Nobody teaches the skills the new system assumes: reading criteria rather than mark schemes, framing a researchable question, writing something that will be revised over months, and managing a workload where three subjects can have work due in the same week without anybody coordinating.

A worked example of what that costs. A student from a Santacruz Cambridge campus arrives in DP1 at a Juhu campus with excellent Mathematics content. Her first internal assessment style task asks her to choose her own exploration topic. She chooses something she can already do, executes it perfectly, and scores modestly, because the criteria reward the handling of an unfamiliar problem rather than the neat execution of a familiar one. Nobody told her, and the mark looks like a mathematics failure. It is not. It is a criteria-literacy failure, and it is the single most common crossover loss we see from this locality.

What a tutor should actually do in that bridge period, in sequence. Read the published criteria for one subject with the student, out loud, and translate each one into a question she can ask of her own work. Take one piece of her Cambridge work and re-mark it against those criteria so she can see the difference with her own eyes. Practise framing three research questions, two of which are deliberately too easy, and discuss why. Then set one long task with a two-week horizon so she experiences a deadline that is not a week away. None of that is content teaching, and all of it is the reason the first DP1 report comes back better than it otherwise would.

The reverse bridge, from the Middle Years Programme into Cambridge Year 10, needs a different four weeks: timed-paper discipline, command-term reading, minute allocation, and the willingness to abandon a question that is consuming time. Both bridges are short pieces of work with large effects, and both are far cheaper than the remedial term that follows skipping them. For a household running both systems, the bridge is also where one tutor genuinely serves both children, because the skill being taught is assessment literacy rather than subject content.

  • The crossover summer is unsupported by both schools by design
  • Criteria literacy, not content, is what the new system assumes
  • A perfect execution of a familiar task scores modestly on IB criteria
  • Re-mark one old Cambridge piece against IB criteria to show the gap
  • Set one two-week task so a long horizon stops being theoretical
  • The reverse bridge needs timed-paper discipline, not criteria work

What does a term of IB and IGCSE home tuition in Mumbai change?

At four weeks you are measuring behaviour, per child. Each student should be able to name her weakness as a component rather than as a subject: not I am bad at Chemistry, but I lose marks when a question asks me to describe a method. Each should have a fixed slot she arrives at with questions written down. And you should have had at least one message about each child that you did not enjoy reading. In a two-child arrangement the absence of bad news about one child is the thing to chase, because the quieter brief is the one that drifts.

At one term, the schools' own marking in the components named in session one. For the Cambridge child, coursework or practical write-ups should exist in draft and have been through real mark-scheme feedback. For the Diploma Programme child, an internal assessment should exist in draft and have been read against the published criteria, not sympathetically. Prerequisite gaps from the previous year should have closed, which the students will not notice and a test will. A term with no movement in a named component means the match, the diagnosis or the work between lessons is wrong, and that is a week-twelve conversation.

At one examination cycle, the plain position: IB Gram does not guarantee grades, no tutor on this platform may promise one, and any provider quoting a success rate is selling. What home tuition reliably recovers are the marks lost to not understanding the assessment, which on a borderline is frequently the whole grade: command terms misread, method not shown, an internal assessment answered against the wrong criterion, a paper mismanaged in its first fifteen minutes. What it cannot do is replace two years of missing foundation, and in a dual-board household the temptation to believe otherwise is doubled because one child's improvement makes the other's flat term feel like a tutoring problem.

The limits deserve saying for a household in particular. Twice-weekly lessons will not fix a student who is not sleeping or not attending, and they will not rescue a subject combination chosen badly two years earlier. They also will not equalise two children. Siblings move at different speeds, in different systems, with different teachers, and comparing them across boards is not a measurement, it is a mood. A tutor who says that out loud is worth keeping.

  • Four weeks: component-level self-diagnosis and one hard message per child
  • Chase the absence of bad news about the quieter child
  • One term: draft coursework and a draft internal assessment, both marked properly
  • IB Gram does not guarantee grades and bans tutors from promising them
  • Tuition recovers assessment losses; it cannot replace missing foundation
  • Two children in two systems will not move at the same speed

Starting IB and IGCSE home classes in Santacruz West, Mumbai

Arranging IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West, Mumbai starts with one message that has both halves in it. Per child: school, programme and year, board, subjects with levels or tiers, and the subject where marks are slipping. Per household: two evening windows you can protect, whether the two students can be taught consecutively, and whether you want one tutor or are open to two. Add two pieces of marked work per child if you have them, ideally one each child thought went well and one each knew had not. That is enough for a shortlist the same week.

First sessions should be diagnosis rather than teaching, and in a dual brief that means two diagnoses rather than one shared impression. Each should run forty to fifty minutes: questions pitched slightly above comfort, a read of the marked work, a check of whether the student can interpret the relevant criteria or mark scheme, and a conversation about what she thinks is going wrong. Each should end with one component named and one measure set for four weeks. If a tutor delivers one combined verdict on both children after one evening, that is not a diagnosis, it is an impression.

On cost, no rate card, because a number that covered two boards, two programmes and every subject would be meaningless. What you pay depends on the programme, level and tier, since Higher Level sciences and Extended-tier Mathematics draw on a smaller pool; on local subject scarcity; on travel and the corridor it runs on, because cross-suburb journeys are priced in whether itemised or not; on session length, which for consecutive siblings is longer; and on whether the same tutor covers both children. Online is lower. The figure arrives before the discovery call.

We are an independent tutor-matching platform with no relationship to any school in Santacruz West or anywhere else in Mumbai, Maharashtra. If the dual brief cannot be filled well with one tutor, you will be told to use two. If it cannot be filled at all this term, you will be told that within a day along with what is possible. There is no lock-in, no notice period and no exit fee on a replacement for either child.

  • One message, two briefs, plus the household scheduling constraints
  • Say whether you want one tutor or are open to two
  • Two separate diagnoses, two components named, two measures set
  • One combined verdict on both children is an impression, not a diagnosis
  • Rates depend on level, tier, scarcity, corridor and session length
  • Independent platform, no affiliation, no lock-in for either child
FAQs

Santacruz West tutoring — questions parents ask

Can one tutor really teach a Cambridge Year 10 and a DP1 student?+

In the same subject area, yes, and it is often the best arrangement. Mathematics across those two points, or the sciences, overlaps substantially in content, and what the tutor switches between is assessment logic rather than subject matter. Across different subject areas, no: a tutor covering Cambridge Chemistry for one child and Diploma Programme English for the other is two hires pretending to be one. The test is whether you would hire each half separately on its own merits. If one half fails that test, the convenience is costing you a grade rather than saving you money.

What do IB and IGCSE tuition fees in Santacruz West depend on?+

The cost of IB and IGCSE home tuition in Santacruz West, Mumbai depends on programme and level first, since Higher Level sciences and Extended-tier Mathematics draw on a smaller and more experienced pool than Standard Level or Core. Then local scarcity of the subject, which is why a Diploma Programme second language costs more than Mathematics here. Then travel and the corridor it runs along, because a cross-suburb journey is priced in whether or not anyone itemises it. Then session length, which is longer when two siblings are taught consecutively. And whether one tutor covers both children. Online sits lower because travel disappears. You get the number before the call.

Can a tutor travel to Santacruz West for a long early-evening block?+

Yes, if the journey has slack in it, which in practice means a tutor based along this stretch of the Western Line. Santacruz station, Linking Road and Link Road make the area reachable from Khar West, Juhu, Bandra and Vile Parle West without the worst of the Western Express Highway. A long block from 5.30pm to 8pm is a big ask of someone's evening, so the tutors who sustain it are the ones for whom your flat is on an existing route. Ask where their other students in Mumbai are before you fix the time.

Does a parent need to be at home when two children are taught back to back?+

For the first three sessions, yes, and listen to both halves rather than the one you were worried about. The quieter child in a consecutive block tends to get the tired half hour, and that is invisible from a combined summary. After the first fortnight most families here are present only for the handovers, of which there should be two, one per child, each naming what was covered and what is owed. If the tutor sends one combined household message for three weeks, ask for them to be separated.

My child is crossing from Cambridge Year 11 to the IB Diploma. What should the summer cover?+

Criteria literacy, not content. The common and expensive failure is a student who executes a familiar task perfectly and scores modestly because the criteria reward handling something unfamiliar. Four useful weeks look like this: read one subject's published criteria out loud and translate each into a question she can ask of her own work; re-mark one piece of her Cambridge work against those criteria so the gap is visible; practise framing research questions, including deliberately weak ones, and discuss why they are weak; and set one task with a two-week horizon.

Which board is harder?+

Neither in general, and that framing causes real harm in a dual-board household because it turns a difference into a sibling comparison. They are hard in different places. Cambridge concentrates difficulty in timed papers and tier-appropriate content. The Diploma Programme spreads it across self-directed work, criteria-based marking and the volume of parallel deadlines in the second year. A student can find one comfortable and the other punishing for reasons that have nothing to do with ability. Compare each child to her own last term, not to her sibling in another system.

How do I handle two schools' deadlines colliding?+

Get both schools' internal assessment and mock dates in writing at the start of the year and put them on one calendar. Collisions then become visible months ahead and can be answered with scheduling rather than panic: shift the Cambridge child's extra sessions earlier, protect the Diploma Programme child's draft fortnight, and book the tutor's additional hours before the rest of the neighbourhood needs them. Because the Santacruz campuses share term dates closely, the Cambridge crunch is predictable, which makes it the easier of the two to plan around.

Is online tuition acceptable for one child and home tuition for the other?+

Yes, and it is one of the more sensible structures available to a dual-board household. Use a local tutor at home for the subject with real local depth, usually Mathematics or a science, and an online specialist for the scarce one, usually a Diploma Programme second language or a minority-board subject. The honest trade is that the online half needs more attendance supervision from you, because a screen cannot see a teenager with a second tab open. Expect to be more involved in the online child's first month than the other's.

Is society gate access an issue for a tutor visiting twice a week?+

Only if you treat each visit as a new one. Register the tutor at your building office once as a recurring weekly visitor rather than signing in a guest every Tuesday; five minutes of paperwork removes a doorstep argument on the one rainy evening the lessons actually matter. Parking around Linking Road in the evening peak is the genuine constraint, which is why several tutors here prefer to arrive by train at Santacruz and take an auto. Ask on the call how they intend to travel, then tell your gate the same.

One child is improving and the other is not. Is the tutor the problem?+

Not necessarily, and this is the most common misreading in a dual-board household. Two children in two systems with different teachers, different components and different term shapes will not move at the same rate, and the flat one is not automatically the badly taught one. Run the four-week test on the flat brief specifically: can she name her weakness as a component, is there a written plan from session one, and has the tutor sent you anything unwelcome about her. Three noes means the match is wrong for that child and we replace the tutor for that child alone.

What if we need to change one tutor but keep the other?+

That is the normal case and it is handled per child, not per household. Tell us which brief is not working and what specifically went wrong, and we replace that tutor with no notice period, no exit fee and no effect on the arrangement that is working. The reason matters because it changes the next shortlist: a tutor who is capable but too gentle for a student who needs pushing is a different failure from one whose Higher Level experience turned out thinner than the brief required, and the second is our shortlisting error.

Are your tutors connected to Podar International School, Billabong High or Ecole Mondiale World School?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform and is not affiliated with Podar International School, Billabong High International School, Ecole Mondiale World School or any other institution. Those campuses are named here because a dual-board household in this part of Mumbai is usually built around them, and their calendars decide when your evenings are under pressure. A tutor may have taught students from any of them and can say so on the discovery call, but nobody on this platform represents a school or can speak for its internal deadlines.

Send both briefs in one message: each child's school, programme, board, subjects with levels, and what is slipping, plus the evening windows you can protect and whether the two can be taught consecutively. You will get a shortlist with rates, a stated view on whether one tutor can serve both children, and free discovery calls. Lessons start only after you confirm, reviews run per child every two to four weeks, and either tutor can be replaced without notice.
