How does IB Gram find an IB home tutor in Pokhran Road?

You send one message with the year group, the subjects and the two evenings that are genuinely free. We read that against the tutors already working the Pokhran Road corridor, send you two or three profiles with the travel time from where each tutor actually lives, and you speak to them yourself before anyone commits to a term. Nothing is charged for the shortlist and nothing is locked in after the first conversation.

The order of those steps matters more in Thane than it does in most of Mumbai. A profile that looks perfect on paper is useless if the tutor lives past Kasarvadavali and your slot is 7pm, because the Ghodbunder Road stretch will eat forty minutes of it by the second week. So the travel question is settled before the subject question. We ask where you are on the corridor, whether you are closer to the Thane end or the Majiwada end, and which gate your society uses. Only then do we start matching on syllabus.

Subject matching is done at the level your child is actually assessed at, not at the level of the subject name. A Middle Years Programme student needing Sciences is a different brief from a Diploma Programme student needing Higher Level Physics, even though both requests arrive as 'science tuition'. We ask for the last report card or the last piece of marked work, because a Criterion C comment or an examiner-style annotation tells a matcher more in thirty seconds than a phone call does in ten minutes.

If the first tutor is wrong, say so early. A replacement does not need a reason that would hold up in an argument. Three sessions is usually enough for a parent to know whether a child is talking in the lesson or waiting for it to end, and that single observation is better matching data than anything we can collect in advance. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any school named on this page, and we do not guarantee grades.

  • 1. Tell us the year group, the subjects and your two free evenings
  • 2. We shortlist tutors who already work the Pokhran Road corridor
  • 3. You speak to each shortlisted tutor before agreeing to anything
  • 4. First home classes are scheduled around your society gate timings
  • 5. Say so by session three if the fit is wrong

IB programmes families on Pokhran Road are working through

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is three separate programmes with three separate kinds of pressure, and a parent on Pokhran Road usually needs help with exactly one of them. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) runs through the early years and is assessed by the teacher rather than by anything external. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) introduces published assessment criteria and the Personal Project. The Diploma Programme (DP) is the two-year course with Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) choices, Internal Assessment (IA) work in every subject, the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).

Most of the requests that reach us from this corridor sit in two bands, and they do not look much like the Mumbai city-wide pattern. The first is MYP 4 and MYP 5, where a child who coasted through the earlier years suddenly meets criteria that reward a kind of writing nobody taught them explicitly. The second is DP1, where the subject load arrives all at once and a student who was strong at fifteen finds that strong is no longer the unit of measurement. A good IB home tutor works on the thing the criteria are actually testing rather than on more questions of the same type.

That distinction is the whole argument for subject-specialist matching. A MYP Individuals and Societies teacher and a DP Economics teacher are not interchangeable, even where the content overlaps, because the MYP student is being marked against a criterion descriptor and the DP student is being marked against subject-specific assessment objectives. We match to the programme first and the subject second. If your child is mid-way through DP1 and still unsure about dropping an HL, that is a conversation to have with the Diploma Programme coordinator at school, not with a tutor, and any tutor worth booking will tell you the same.

Weightings, paper counts and component structures change on the IB's own revision cycle, so take those from the current subject guide or from your school's coordinator rather than from any tutoring website. What a tutor can tell you reliably is what the skill underneath a component is, how long it usually takes a student to build it, and whether your child is behind on content or behind on exam technique. Those two problems look identical on a report card and need completely different work.

  • PYP, MYP and DP each carry different assessment pressure and different tutoring needs
  • MYP 4 and MYP 5 requests usually concern criteria, not content gaps
  • DP1 requests usually concern workload sequencing across six subjects
  • HL and SL changes go through your school coordinator, never a tutor
  • Bring the last marked piece of work to the first session

Which IB subjects and levels do tutors here actually teach?

Across the Pokhran Road corridor the live demand is Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management, English A and the second-language subjects, at both Higher Level and Standard Level. Tutors who cover all IB and IGCSE subjects a tutor in Pokhran Road can reach within twenty minutes exist in reasonable numbers for those; for Higher Level Mathematics and for the less common languages the pool thins out and the honest answer is that you may be choosing between a weekday slot with the right specialist and a convenient slot with someone adequate.

Subject choice is where parents here lose the most time. Across both boards the decision has the same shape: pick for the thing your child can sustain for two years, not for the thing that sounds strongest on a transcript. In the Diploma Programme that means HL and SL selection, and the Core and Extended split belongs to the IGCSE years, which a sibling page covers properly. The Diploma question we get asked most often on this corridor is whether to take three Higher Levels in the sciences, and the answer usually depends on how the student handles simultaneous Internal Assessment deadlines rather than on raw ability. Parents often open by asking who the best IB tutor in Pokhran Road is, when the useful question is which single subject the hours should go to this term.

Every Diploma subject carries internal assessment of some kind, and this is the work that tutoring actually moves. A Physics investigation, a Business Management commentary, a Mathematics exploration and a Language A written assignment are all graded against published criteria by the school and then moderated externally. A tutor cannot write any of it and should not be editing it line by line. What they can do is read the criteria with the student, look at what the draft is currently evidencing, and name the specific criterion where the marks are being left on the table.

The practical shape of IB home tuition in Pokhran Road is usually one subject twice a week or two subjects once a week each. Two subjects with the same tutor works when the subjects share a skill, so Mathematics with Physics or Economics with Business Management, and works badly across a science and a language. For a DP2 student in the January to March window we often recommend dropping to one subject and giving the hours to whichever IA is furthest behind, which is a less profitable recommendation and a more useful one.

  • Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and English A are the common requests
  • Higher Level Mathematics and rarer languages have a genuinely smaller tutor pool
  • Internal assessment work is read against criteria, never written by the tutor
  • Pairing Mathematics with Physics works; pairing a science with a language rarely does
  • One subject twice weekly beats three subjects once a month

Which parts of Thane does a Pokhran Road tutor cover?

A tutor matched for Pokhran Road will normally also take students in Thane West, Majiwada and Vasant Vihar Thane, because all four sit inside the same short driving radius off the Pokhran Road No. 1 and No. 2 spine. Thane station is the anchor at the western end, and the Central Line and the Trans-Harbour Line both run from it, which matters because a meaningful number of tutors here commute by train rather than by car.

Thane spreads west to east from the station across Pokhran Road, Ghodbunder Road and Majiwada, and the Ghodbunder stretch is what sets the schedule for everyone. A tutor living near Thane station reaches Kasarvadavali in about twenty minutes when the road is clear and close to an hour in the evening peak. That single fact is why we match Thane tutors to Thane families as a rule. Mulund tutors do cross over, usually via the Eastern Express Highway, and for a Saturday morning slot that works; for a 7pm Tuesday it does not hold for a full term.

Within the corridor itself the distances are small enough to be irrelevant. Lodha Splendora and Kalpataru Aura are both reachable from the station end without touching Ghodbunder Road at all, and a tutor can hold a 4:45pm slot in one and a 6:15pm slot in the other on the same evening. That is unusual for Mumbai, Maharashtra, where most tutors can realistically serve one student per evening. Families booking all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Pokhran Road tutors cover therefore get a choice of hours the rest of Mumbai does not have. It is the reason a standing weekly slot on this corridor tends to survive longer than the same arrangement in the Western Suburbs.

If you are further east towards Owale or past Kasarvadavali, be straightforward with us about it at the shortlist stage. We would rather tell you that a 7pm weekday slot is not realistic and offer you 8pm or a Saturday than place a tutor who will be late twice a month until the arrangement quietly dies. Parents who type IB tutors near me Pokhran Road into Google and get city-wide listings are usually trying to solve exactly this problem, and the listing cannot solve it because it does not know which end of the corridor you live on.

  • Thane West, Majiwada and Vasant Vihar Thane share the same tutor pool
  • Thane station anchors the western end for train-commuting tutors
  • Ghodbunder Road is twenty minutes clear and nearly an hour at peak
  • Lodha Splendora and Kalpataru Aura sit inside the station-end radius
  • Mulund tutors cross over best for weekend rather than weekday slots

The school year along Pokhran Road No. 2

Families on this corridor send their children to Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, to NES International School, and to the schools clustered in and around Hiranandani Estate a little further along. Billabong High International School has a Thane campus too. Those schools set the calendar every tutoring arrangement here has to fit, and they do not all set it the same way, so the first thing we ask is which school rather than which board.

The rhythm looks roughly like this, and it runs a few weeks ahead of the Mumbai state-board calendar. The year opens in June and the first six weeks are genuinely quiet, which is the cheapest and most useful time to start home tuition and the time almost nobody does. Late September and October bring the first serious internal assessments and the first report that a parent takes seriously. December and January are the heaviest stretch: mock examinations, Internal Assessment drafts and the Extended Essay all land in the same few weeks, and for a DP2 student sitting the May session this is the point at which a term's drift becomes visible and expensive to fix.

February and March are about finishing rather than learning. By then the useful work is past-paper technique, reading examiner comments properly and deciding which topics to stop revising. A tutor who is still teaching new content to a DP2 student in March has misread the situation. April is study leave, the May session follows, and results in early July are the point at which families start asking about retakes and re-marks, which are a school conversation first.

Naming these schools is local context and nothing more. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, NES International School or any other school on this corridor, has no arrangement with any of them, and cannot guarantee grades or admissions outcomes for any student. If a tutor ever implies they have inside knowledge of a particular school's marking, treat that as a reason to be wary of them rather than a selling point.

  • Ask which school first, because the calendar differs more than the board
  • June and July are the quietest and most useful months to start
  • December and January stack mocks, Internal Assessment drafts and the Extended Essay
  • March work is past papers and examiner comments, not new content
  • No tutor has inside knowledge of a school's internal marking

Home tuition in Pokhran Road, online classes, or both?

Start with home tutoring, because for most families on this corridor it is simply the better option and the local geography makes it affordable in time terms. An IB home tutor in Pokhran Road who lives at the station end loses fifteen minutes to travel, not fifty, so they will take a 5pm slot that a tutor crossing Mumbai would refuse. A tutor in the room also sees the things a camera does not: the phone face-down on the table, the handwriting that collapses in the last ten minutes, the question your child will not ask out loud.

Online tuition earns its place in three specific situations. The first is a scarce specialist, usually Higher Level Mathematics or a language, where the right teacher is somewhere else in Mumbai, in Powai or Bandra, and the alternative is nobody. The second is the examination run-in, when a thirty-minute question review three times a week is worth more than one long weekly visit. The third is the monsoon, when Ghodbunder Road and the Eastern Express Highway can turn a reliable arrangement into a weekly negotiation. Screen-sharing a past paper is genuinely good for marking practice and genuinely poor for a student who needs someone to notice they have stopped working.

Hybrid is what most families here settle into by the second term, and it works best when it is deliberate rather than accidental. One home visit a week for new teaching and relationship, one short online session for drafts and doubts. The rule we give parents is that the mode should follow the task: anything involving a long explanation, a diagram drawn together or a difficult conversation happens in person, and anything involving checking a draft or clearing two questions happens on a screen. Deciding mode session by session is how arrangements drift into being online-only by March.

The trade-offs are real in both directions. Home classes cost more because travel is priced in, and they are harder to reschedule at short notice. Online sessions are cheaper and almost infinitely flexible, which is precisely the problem, because a flexible slot is the first one to be moved when something else comes up. If you want the arrangement to survive a full academic year, a fixed weekday evening home visit with a standing gate pass is the version that holds.

  • Home visits suit new teaching, long explanations and difficult conversations
  • Online suits scarce specialists, draft checking and the monsoon weeks
  • Hybrid works when the mode follows the task, not the mood
  • Home classes price travel in; online sessions get moved more easily
  • A fixed weekday slot with a standing gate pass survives the year

How is an IB home tutor in Pokhran Road checked before the first visit?

Before a tutor appears on a shortlist we confirm their identity against a government photo document, their claimed degree against the awarding institution, and their board experience against something specific rather than a general claim. 'I have taught the Diploma Programme' is not evidence; naming the year groups taught, the subjects at Higher Level and Standard Level, and the kind of Internal Assessment work supervised is. A tutor who cannot describe a criterion in their own subject in plain language has not taught it recently.

Then there is the part that only matters because this is home tutoring. Someone is entering your flat, usually when one parent is still at work. We confirm the tutor's current address because travel claims that are not true are the single most common cause of an arrangement collapsing, we take references from families they have worked with, and we ask the tutor to carry photo identification to the first visit so your security desk at Lodha Splendora or Kalpataru Aura has something to log.

There are checks only you can do, and they take one session. Watch who is talking. A tutor who talks for fifty of sixty minutes is lecturing, not teaching, and a child who is nodding is not necessarily following. Ask your child one question after the first session: what did you get wrong today and why. If they can answer, the tutor made the error visible, which is the entire job. Ask to see what the tutor wrote on the page, because a session that leaves no trace is hard to build on next week.

Be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade, quotes a success rate or claims a special relationship with a school on this corridor. None of those are things an honest tutor can offer. IB Gram does not guarantee grades either, and we will not pretend that a verified tutor plus a fixed slot is the same thing as a result. What verification buys you is a smaller chance of wasting a term on someone who was never going to be able to do the work.

  • Identity, degree and board experience confirmed before a tutor is shortlisted
  • Current address confirmed, because false travel claims break weekly slots
  • Tutors carry photo identification for your society security desk
  • Watch the talk ratio in session one and ask what your child got wrong
  • Promises about specific grades or school marking are a warning sign

Why a 4:45pm slot works here and almost nowhere else in Mumbai

This is the thing that makes Pokhran Road different from every other locality we write about. The schools and the homes are on the same road. Pokhran Road No. 2 is Thane's school corridor, with Singhania and the Hiranandani Estate schools strung along it, so the distance between the gate a child walks out of at 3:30pm and the lift they take up to their flat is minutes rather than an hour. Everywhere else in Mumbai, the school run is the reason tuition starts at eight.

Work through what that does to a week. A DP1 student at a school on this corridor is home by four. A tutor living near Thane station arrives at 4:45pm, teaches until six, and is at a second student in Majiwada by 6:30pm. The student does homework at eight and sleeps at eleven instead of starting tuition at nine and finishing at half past ten. Over a term that is not a small comfort; it is the difference between a child who can absorb a difficult explanation and a child who is being taught Mathematics while exhausted.

It also changes what a tutor can charge their time to. Because two or three students on the same corridor are reachable in one evening, a tutor is not pricing a sixty-minute lesson at ninety minutes of travel. That is why IB home classes in Pokhran Road are usually easier to arrange at a sensible hour than the same request in Powai or Khar, and why a tutor here is more willing to add a second short session in the pre-examination weeks. The corridor is doing the work, not any cleverness on our part.

The catch is that the good slots go early and they go to whoever asks first. Between 4:30pm and 6:30pm on Monday to Thursday there are only four or five usable slots per tutor per week, and by late July they are gone for the year. Parents who come to us in September asking for a 5pm slot are usually offered 8pm, accept it, and then discover in November why it was available. If you want the after-school hour, ask in June.

One more consequence worth knowing. Because the corridor's tutors cluster near the schools, a tutor who teaches your child may also teach a classmate. That is normal and nothing to worry about, but it is worth saying out loud at the start if your child would be uncomfortable with it, because it is far easier to match around at the shortlist stage than to unpick in October.

  • Schools and homes share one road, so children are home before four
  • A tutor can teach two corridor students in a single evening
  • Shorter travel means a second short session before examinations is realistic
  • Only four or five after-school slots exist per tutor each week
  • Ask in June for the 4:30pm to 6:30pm window, not September

What progress should look like at four weeks and at one term

At four weeks you should not be looking at marks. You should be looking at whether your child can say what they are bad at. A student who moves from 'I just don't get Chemistry' to 'I can't do the mole calculations when the question gives me volume' has made the most valuable progress available in a month, because the problem is now small enough to work on. If after four weeks of home tuition the description is still as vague as it was in week one, something is wrong with the match and not with the child.

At one term, expect movement on the specific things that were named in week one and nothing more. One criterion up on an Internal Assessment draft. Working consistently through a paper instead of running out of time. Homework that gets started on the day it is set. Marks sometimes move in a term and sometimes do not, particularly in the Diploma Programme where a school's internal grading can tighten as the course goes on, so a flat grade with visibly better work is a normal and acceptable outcome at this stage.

At one examination cycle you will know whether the arrangement worked, and you will know it from the paper rather than from the tutor's account of it. This is also where the honest limits sit. A tutor working with a DP2 student from January, in Thane or anywhere else in Mumbai, cannot undo eighteen months of missed foundations before May, and anyone who says otherwise is selling. We do not guarantee grades, we will not quote a success rate, and we would rather tell you in week two that the subject load is the real problem than take fees for a term of pleasant sessions.

The failure mode to watch for is the comfortable arrangement. Everyone is polite, the tutor arrives on time, the child does not complain, and nothing changes. It is harder to spot than a bad fit and it wastes more money. The test is simple: ask for one concrete thing your child can now do that they could not do last month. If neither your child nor the tutor can name one, ask for a replacement, and do it in November rather than in February.

  • Week four: your child can name the specific thing they cannot do
  • One term: one criterion up, or a paper finished within the time
  • A flat grade with visibly better work is a normal term-one outcome
  • No honest tutor offers a guaranteed grade or a published success rate
  • The polite arrangement where nothing changes wastes the most money

Getting started with home classes in Pokhran Road

Three things make the first session worth paying for. The last marked piece of work, with the teacher's comments still on it. The current timetable, including whatever sport or music already owns two of your evenings. And one sentence from your child about what they want to be different, which is usually more precise than the version a parent gives us.

The first visit itself is diagnostic and should feel like it. A tutor who spends session one teaching has skipped the part that makes sessions two to twenty useful. Expect them to work through the marked paper with your child, find where the understanding actually stops, and leave with a short plan for the next three or four weeks. Expect to be told something you did not want to hear. A tutor who finds nothing wrong in the first hour either was not looking or is managing you.

On the logistics, settle them before the tutor arrives rather than at your gate. Tell your society office that a tutor is coming weekly and ask what they need: most complexes along this corridor will issue a standing visitor pass once a resident requests it, which turns a ten-minute argument at the gate into a signature. Decide where the lesson happens and keep it there. The dining table with the television off beats a bedroom, and a child sitting beside a tutor rather than across a sofa will actually write things down.

An IB private tutor Pokhran Road families book for a weekly visit is priced differently from an IB tutor Mumbai parents reach only online, because travel and scarcity both sit inside the number. A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents enquire about is not always available in the slot you want, and we will say so rather than putting a weaker match in a convenient hour. If the right tutor for your child only has Thursday at 5:15pm, take Thursday. The fit is the part that is hard to replace; the time is the part you can negotiate with your own week.

  • Bring the last marked work, the timetable and your child's own sentence
  • Session one is diagnostic; teaching starts in session two
  • Request a standing visitor pass from your society before the first visit
  • Keep the lesson in one place, at a table, with the television off
  • Take the right tutor's awkward slot over a weaker tutor's convenient one
FAQs

Pokhran Road tutoring — questions parents ask

What does an IB home tutor in Pokhran Road cost?+

IB tuition fees in Pokhran Road depend on five things, and any site quoting you a figure before asking about them is guessing. Those five are the board and programme, the level, how scarce the subject specialist is, how far the tutor travels to reach you, and the session length and frequency. Higher Level Diploma Programme subjects cost more than Middle Years Programme work, Higher Level Mathematics costs more than Business Management because the pool is smaller, and a tutor crossing from the Ghodbunder end prices the travel in. We will give you a range for your specific request once we know the year group and subject, and we will tell you which of those five factors is driving it.

Can a tutor travel to Pokhran Road for a 7pm weekday slot?+

Yes, and more easily than in most of Mumbai, provided the tutor already lives in Thane. A tutor near Thane station reaches the corridor in fifteen to twenty minutes outside peak traffic. The slot that goes wrong is the one where the tutor is coming from past Kasarvadavali, because the Ghodbunder Road stretch can take close to an hour in the evening and a tutor who is fifteen minutes late twice a month will eventually be late every week. We check where a tutor actually lives before shortlisting them for an evening slot, and if the geography does not work we will offer you 8pm or a weekend morning instead of pretending.

How does gate access work at Lodha Splendora or Kalpataru Aura?+

You request it, not the tutor. Most larger complexes on this corridor will issue a standing visitor entry for a weekly tutor once a resident puts the request to the society office, usually with the tutor's name, phone number and identity document details. Do that before the first session. Without it, every visit begins with a phone call to your flat from the security desk and a tutor standing at the gate, which costs five to ten minutes of a sixty-minute lesson. We ask tutors to carry photo identification to every visit regardless. If your complex insists on per-visit approval, set a recurring reminder rather than relying on the tutor to chase it.

Where in the building should the lesson actually happen?+

At a table, in a shared part of the flat, with the television off. The dining table is the right answer in most Pokhran Road flats. A bedroom desk works if the door stays open and the phone is out of the room. Avoid the sofa entirely, because nobody writes anything on a sofa and Diploma Programme work is written work. Some complexes along this corridor have a study room or a library in the clubhouse, which is useful if your flat is noisy in the evening, but check whether an external tutor is permitted there before booking it. Consistency matters more than the room itself: the same table every week builds a habit.

Does online IB tuition really work for a DP2 student?+

For some tasks it works very well and for others it does not. An IB online tutor in Pokhran Road is genuinely good for marking past-paper answers together, clearing two or three doubts in half an hour, and reviewing an Internal Assessment draft on a shared screen. It is weak for first teaching of difficult content, for a student whose attention drifts the moment nobody can see their hands, and for the conversations where a tutor needs to read a face. For DP2 specifically, we often suggest one home visit a week plus two short online reviews in the January to March window, which is more contact for less travel.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after three weeks?+

You tell us and we replace them, without needing a justification you would be comfortable saying to the tutor's face. Three weeks is the right moment to raise it rather than the awkward one. We ask two questions when it happens, because they make the next match better: was the problem the teaching or the person, and did your child talk during sessions. A content mismatch means we look for a different subject specialist. A rapport problem usually means we change the tutor's age, style or gender rather than their qualifications. The replacement tutor starts with your original notes plus what the first three weeks taught us.

My son is in MYP 4 and has not chosen Diploma subjects yet. Can a tutor help?+

A tutor can help with the evidence, not with the decision. What they can do is tell you honestly whether your son's current Middle Years Programme work in a subject suggests he would cope with it at Higher Level, which is a far more useful input than his enthusiasm in April. The decision itself belongs with your school's Diploma Programme coordinator, who knows which subject combinations the school can actually timetable and what the university pathways look like for its leavers. Bring the tutor in for the question 'is he ready for this' and the school in for the question 'can he take this'.

Is there any progress to see after a month of home tuition?+

Yes, but not in marks. After four weeks the thing to look for is precision: can your child name the specific skill or topic that is failing them, instead of naming the whole subject. That shift is the real first milestone and it usually arrives between weeks two and four. You should also see homework started earlier and fewer blank starts on past-paper questions. What you will probably not see is a changed grade, because most schools on this corridor do not assess often enough for a month to show up. If the description is still vague at week four, raise it with us.

Do I need to be at home during the session?+

Not for the whole hour, but someone should be in the flat. For a younger Primary Years Programme or Middle Years Programme child we would say yes, be around, though not in the room, because a parent watching changes how a child behaves. For a Diploma Programme student, an adult in the flat is enough. What we do ask is that you are present for the first session and the last five minutes of it, because that is when the tutor tells you what they found. Being there for that five minutes is worth more than sitting through the other fifty-five.

Which Thane schools do your IB families here come from?+

Mostly Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, NES International School and the schools around Hiranandani Estate, with some families at the Thane campus of Billabong High International School. We name them as local context only. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any of these schools, and has no arrangement with any of them. The reason we ask which school is practical rather than promotional: the internal assessment calendar and the mock examination dates differ between them, and a tutor planning a term needs to know whether your December is clear or completely full.

Can one tutor cover two children in Majiwada at the same slot?+

Only if they are in the same year group and the same subject, and even then we are cautious. Two Diploma Programme students taking the same Higher Level subject at the same school can share a session productively, because the content and the deadlines line up. Two siblings two years apart cannot, and what actually happens is that the older one gets taught and the younger one listens. If the budget is the reason for asking, a better answer is usually one shorter session each per week than one long shared session. We will tell you which of those your two children are.

Does the Ghodbunder Road commute affect evening session timings here?+

It affects everything about scheduling in Thane, which is why we ask where a tutor lives before we ask what they teach. Thane spreads west to east from the station across Pokhran Road, Ghodbunder Road and Majiwada, and the Ghodbunder stretch is the slow part: twenty minutes off-peak and close to an hour in the evening. A tutor based at the station end can hold a 5pm and a 6:30pm slot on the same corridor. A tutor coming the other way cannot reliably hold either. Monsoon weeks make it worse, and that is when a hybrid arrangement earns its place.

Find your Pokhran Road tutor

Send us the year group, the subjects and the two evenings that are genuinely free, and we will come back with two or three verified tutors who already work the Pokhran Road corridor, each with the real travel time from where they live. You speak to them before committing to anything. Ask your society for a standing visitor pass in the same week, and the first home classes can usually run within seven to ten days.
