How does IB Gram find an IB home tutor in Piramal Aranya?

You send one message naming the programme, the year group and the subjects, and a shortlist of two or three named tutors comes back. Matching an IB home tutor in Piramal Aranya begins from the subject and the year group, never from a list of whoever lives closest. A Diploma Programme Chemistry request and a Primary Years Programme literacy request go to entirely different people, even when both children live in the same tower and ride the same lift.

The sequence is short on purpose. 1. You describe the student: programme, year group, subjects, school, and the thing that is actually going wrong, whether that is criteria-based marking, a stalled internal assessment or a Higher Level subject chosen for the wrong reason. 2. We read that against tutors who already teach in Byculla, Mahalaxmi and Parel and across the rest of the island. 3. You receive two or three profiles carrying qualifications, the programmes each tutor has taught, and the evening windows they can genuinely hold week after week. 4. You pick one, and the first lesson happens in your flat at a time you set. 5. After two lessons you tell us to continue or to re-match, and re-matching costs nothing.

Subject comes before geography because scarcity is real. Mumbai has plenty of capable Mathematics and Economics teachers and very few who have marked a Higher Level Chemistry internal assessment or taken a Diploma Programme group through Spanish ab initio. For those subjects the pool is small enough that distance has to bend, and the building's own address helps more than most addresses in the city do. Eastern Freeway access means a tutor based in Chembur or Wadala reaches Piramal Aranya in under twenty minutes, which quietly widens the set of specialists able to take a weekday evening slot in this one complex.

None of this involves a sales call. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching service, not a coaching chain with a classroom to fill, so nobody gains by pushing a generalist into a Higher Level seat. When no suitable person is free for the slot you need, we say so and tell you when that is likely to change, instead of sending a near-miss and hoping the first lesson goes well.

  • Two or three named profiles, not an open searchable directory
  • First lesson in your own flat, at an hour you choose
  • Re-match after two lessons at no additional charge
  • Profiles show programmes taught, not only degrees held
  • Scarce Higher Level subjects matched across the island city

Is your child in PYP, MYP or the Diploma Programme right now?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) runs three programmes a Mumbai family is likely to meet, and each one asks for a different kind of teacher. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is inquiry-led with no external examination, so the useful work is reading fluency, number sense and the habit of explaining thinking out loud. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) marks against published criteria strands rather than a percentage, which is the point where report cards stop resembling anything the parents recognise. The Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year course ending in external examinations, with internal assessment running in parallel the whole way.

Two transitions cause most of the requests that reach us from this part of Mumbai. The first is PYP 5 into MYP 1, where a child who has been praised for curiosity suddenly meets four achievement levels per subject and a teacher comment that refers to strand descriptors. The second is MYP 5 into DP 1, where the workload stops being about effort and starts being about choices already made: six subjects, three at Higher Level, and a Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay timetable sitting on top. A good IB home tutor in Piramal Aranya adjusts to whichever of those two cliffs the child is standing on.

What the tutor does differs sharply by programme. In PYP the session is short, concrete and often shared with a parent in the room, because the aim is a routine that survives without the tutor. In MYP the tutor teaches the child to read a criterion the way an examiner reads it, which means rewriting one paragraph against strand language until the difference is visible. In DP the tutor works to the subject guide and the school's internal deadlines, and spends as much time on command words and question discrimination as on content.

There is an honest version of this that we say on the phone often. A PYP child who reads slowly rarely needs home classes in Mumbai; they need twenty minutes of reading aloud every evening and a school conversation. Paying for a tutor at that stage buys a routine you could install yourself. From MYP 4 upward the calculation changes, because the criteria and the internal assessments are genuinely technical and most parents cannot mark them.

  • PYP: fluency, number sense, explaining reasoning aloud, no external exam
  • MYP: criteria strands and achievement levels replace percentages
  • DP: six subjects, Higher and Standard Level, internal assessment throughout
  • PYP 5 to MYP 1 and MYP 5 to DP 1 cause most requests
  • Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay sit above the six subjects

Subject choice, Higher Level decisions and the internal assessments behind each one

Subject choice is the single highest-leverage decision in the Diploma Programme, and it is made in Mumbai schools months before anyone sees how hard Higher Level actually is. A student picks one subject from each group, raises three to Higher Level, and from that moment the workload, the university pathways and the internal assessment load are largely fixed. A tutor cannot undo a wrong pick in March. A tutor consulted in Year 10 can tell you what Higher Level Physics asks of a student who is competent but slow at algebra, which is the conversation most families want and rarely get.

Each subject carries its own internal assessment, and they are not interchangeable pieces of coursework. A Mathematics exploration is a short mathematical investigation the student chooses and has to justify. A Physics or Chemistry investigation needs a research question narrow enough to control the variables in a school laboratory. A History investigation turns on source evaluation, not narrative. Language A asks for close textual work on prescribed texts. Do not take any weighting, page count or deadline from a website, including this one: the IB revises subject guides on its own cycle, so the current guide and your school's IB coordinator are the only reliable source for structure.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay (EE) are where strong students lose marks quietly. TOK rewards a student who can hold two knowledge claims against each other and say what would have to be true for each; it punishes the student who writes an opinion essay. The EE is a long independent piece whose hardest part is the research question, and a tutor who helps with the question and then withdraws to supervision is doing it correctly. Any tutor who writes a line of it has made the work inadmissible.

Parents here sometimes open by asking for an all IB and IGCSE subjects tutor in Piramal Aranya, meaning one person for everything. Up to MYP 3 that is sometimes reasonable. Above it, it is not: the person who can teach Higher Level Chemistry to a DP 2 student is almost never the person who can teach Language A commentary, and pretending otherwise is how families end up paying for supervision rather than teaching. Two specialists for two hours each usually beats one generalist for four.

  • One subject per group, three raised to Higher Level
  • Mathematics exploration, science investigation and History investigation differ completely
  • Check structure against the current subject guide, never a website
  • TOK rewards competing knowledge claims, not strong personal opinions
  • Extended Essay stands or falls on the research question
  • Two subject specialists usually beat one generalist above MYP 3

Byculla, Mahalaxmi and Parel: the radius an IB home tutor in Piramal Aranya works in

Piramal Aranya sits on the Byculla and Rani Baug side of the island, with Byculla as its nearest railway station, and the practical tutoring radius runs through Byculla, Mahalaxmi and Parel before it runs anywhere else. Tutors who take a standing slot in this complex usually already teach two or three other families inside that triangle, which is what makes a 6.30pm start survivable for them. A tutor whose other families are in Borivali will cancel by the third week, whatever they say in the first conversation.

South Mumbai is dense and short-distance but slow, and parents who have moved here from the suburbs underestimate it. A tutor crossing from Worli to Colaba covers eight kilometres and can still lose forty minutes to the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals in the evening peak. Because of that arithmetic, tutors are matched within the island rather than brought down from the suburbs, and we would rather tell you a Thursday slot is impossible than book one that collapses in October.

The transport around the building is unusually good for the island. The Western Line through Churchgate, Grant Road and Mumbai Central serves tutors living north and west; the Harbour Line through CSMT, Dockyard and Sewri serves the eastern edge; Metro Line 3 (Aqua) from Cuffe Parade to BKC has changed how a tutor living near BKC thinks about a Byculla evening; and the Coastal Road has reshaped the western approach. Most relevant of all is the Eastern Freeway, which puts Chembur and Wadala tutors inside a twenty-minute drive of this gate and makes them a serious option for scarce subjects.

Parents searching IB tutors near me Piramal Aranya tend to assume nearest is best. Nearest is only best when the nearest person teaches the right subject at the right level. For Standard Level Business Management or MYP Mathematics, local is genuinely better and you should insist on it. For Higher Level Chemistry or a less common Group 2 language, accept a Chembur or Wadala tutor arriving by the Eastern Freeway, because the alternative is a nearby tutor learning the syllabus alongside your child.

  • Nearest station Byculla, on the Byculla and Rani Baug side
  • Core radius: Byculla, Mahalaxmi and Parel before anywhere else
  • Worli to Colaba is eight kilometres and forty slow evening minutes
  • Eastern Freeway puts Chembur and Wadala inside twenty minutes
  • Metro Line 3 (Aqua) made BKC-based tutors viable here
  • Local wins for common subjects, specialism wins for scarce ones

The Mumbai school calendar Piramal Aranya families plan around

Children in this complex are bussed to a small, predictable set of schools, and the two that matter most for IB planning are Bombay International School at Babulnath and JBCN International School, Parel, the latter close enough that the morning run is short by island standards. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Bombay International School, JBCN International School, Parel, or any other school named on this page; they appear here only because their calendars set the pressure points a tutor has to work around.

The Mumbai academic year opens in June, and the first real pressure point arrives before the Diwali break, when MYP criteria reports and DP 1 first assessments land in the same fortnight. The second comes in the new year with DP 2 mock examinations and the internal assessment deadlines schools set ahead of their own submission dates. The third is the May examination session itself. A family that starts home tuition in Mumbai in June has room to fix a method; a family that starts in February is managing triage, and an honest tutor will tell you which of the two you are doing.

Those school deadlines, not the examination board's, are what a tutor should be planning against. A DP 2 student at a Mumbai IB school typically has a school-set internal assessment deadline well before anything the board requires, because the coordinator needs time to moderate and upload. Ask your coordinator for the school's internal calendar in writing and give it to the tutor in the first week. It is the single most useful document you can hand over, and most parents never think to.

The bus timetable shapes the tutoring slot as much as the traffic does. A child who leaves the gate at 7.15am and is back by 4pm cannot start a demanding Higher Level session at 4.30pm, whatever the parent's calendar says. Families here usually settle on two fixed evenings, with the harder subject on the earlier evening of the week, and keep Saturday mornings for internal assessment work when the flat is quiet and nobody is watching the clock.

  • Bombay International School at Babulnath and JBCN International School, Parel
  • IB Gram is not affiliated with any school named here
  • Pre-Diwali reports, new-year mocks, then the May session
  • School internal deadlines sit earlier than board deadlines
  • Ask the coordinator for the school calendar in writing
  • Harder subject on the earlier fixed evening of the week

Home tuition, online or hybrid for an IB student in Piramal Aranya, Mumbai

Home tuition is the default and the lead service, because an IB home tutor in Piramal Aranya sitting at the table can see the page the student is writing on, take the pen, and mark a paragraph against a criterion in front of them. For MYP criteria work and for internal assessment drafting that physical closeness is not sentimentality; it is the difference between feedback the child acts on and feedback the child files. The home classes we arrange in Mumbai usually run two fixed evenings a week in the flat, with the clubhouse study area used only when the flat is genuinely unworkable.

An IB online tutor in Piramal Aranya is the right answer in three specific situations. The first is a scarce subject where the only suitable specialist is not in Mumbai at all. The second is a DP 2 student in the weeks before the May session, when travel time is the most expensive thing in the week and a 45-minute screen session on one past-paper question beats a cancelled two-hour visit. The third is a family that travels. Online also removes the gate-pass step entirely, which some households prefer.

Online is the wrong choice for a PYP child or an MYP 1 student who cannot yet work alone for twenty minutes. A ten-year-old on a video call drifts, and the parent ends up sitting in as an unpaid invigilator. It also works badly for first-time internal assessment drafting, where the tutor needs to see the whole desk: the laboratory notebook, the data, the half-written paragraph and the subject guide, all at once.

Hybrid is what most DP families here land on by the second term, and it is worth planning for rather than drifting into. One home visit a week for teaching and marking, one shorter online session for question practice and checking that the week's work happened. It keeps the tutor's travel load sustainable, which is the quiet reason hybrid arrangements survive a full year while four-evening home-only arrangements tend not to.

  • Home tuition first: the tutor can see and mark the actual page
  • Online for scarce subjects, pre-examination weeks and travelling families
  • Online fails for PYP and most MYP 1 students
  • Hybrid: one home visit for teaching, one online for practice
  • Clubhouse study area only when the flat is unworkable

How is an IB home tutor checked before they are cleared at your gate?

Every tutor is checked on four things before a parent ever sees the profile: government photo identity, the degree they claim, the boards and programmes they have actually taught, and references from families or schools they have worked with. For a Diploma Programme request we also ask what the tutor has marked rather than what they have read, because a teacher who has assessed Higher Level work against the current criteria behaves differently from one who knows the content well. A tutor whose documents do not reconcile is not listed.

What IB Gram cannot check is fit, and fit is what decides whether the arrangement lasts. So there is a second layer of checking that belongs to you, and it takes ten minutes at the first meeting. Ask which programme and which subject guide version they teach to. Ask them to explain one criterion strand in plain language. Ask what they would do in the first three sessions with your child specifically. A specialist answers all three quickly; a generalist answers in generalities about confidence and basics.

Be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade, quotes a success rate, or claims a relationship with your child's school. None of those is a thing an honest teacher says. A tutor who asks to see the last report card and the teacher comments before quoting a schedule is behaving well. A tutor who quotes a schedule and a price before asking anything about the child is selling hours.

The building's visitor protocol is part of verification in practice, not an afterthought. Piramal Aranya runs on a single gate with a visitor log, so a tutor on a standing weekly slot should be registered once as a recurring visitor rather than argued through security every Tuesday at 6.25pm. Give the gate the tutor's name, phone number and the fixed day and time in writing in the first week. Families who skip this lose ten minutes a session to the lobby, and the tutor eventually stops offering the slot.

  • Photo identity, degree, programmes taught and references checked before listing
  • For DP we ask what the tutor has marked, not read
  • Ask the tutor to explain one criterion strand in plain language
  • Ask for a three-session plan for your child specifically
  • Register the tutor once at the gate as a recurring visitor

What do IB tuition fees in Piramal Aranya actually depend on?

IB tuition fees in Piramal Aranya depend on six things, and no honest page can quote you a number before knowing them: the programme and level, the subject's scarcity, how far the tutor travels, the session length, how many sessions a week, and whether the request lands in the calm part of the year or three weeks before mocks. A Standard Level Business Management request for a single weekly session and a Higher Level Chemistry request for twice-weekly internal assessment support in January are different purchases, and treating them as one rate is how families get surprised.

Level and scarcity move the figure most. Standard Level teachers are reasonably plentiful across Mumbai; Higher Level sciences, Higher Level Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, and less common Group 2 languages are not, and a scarce specialist prices accordingly wherever they live. Travel is the second lever, and it is the one this building partly neutralises: because the Eastern Freeway brings a Chembur or Wadala tutor to this gate in under twenty minutes, you are not forced to pay the premium that a two-hour round trip from the far suburbs would otherwise add.

Session length and frequency interact in a way parents underestimate. Two shorter sessions a week almost always produce more than one long one, because retention needs a second contact before the forgetting curve bites, but two sessions also mean two trips and the fee reflects that. The cheapest arrangement that actually works for a DP 2 student is usually one longer home visit plus one short online check, not a single long weekly visit. Ask a prospective IB private tutor Piramal Aranya families already use how they would structure the week, before asking what they charge.

Asking for the best IB tutor in Piramal Aranya is the wrong frame, because best is not a property of a tutor; it is a property of a match. The best available Higher Level Physics teacher is the wrong choice for a child whose actual problem is that she will not attempt a question she might get wrong. Pay for the person who can diagnose that, and insist on a short written note after each of the first four sessions saying what was covered and what the student should do before the next one. That note is worth more than any discount you negotiate.

  • Six levers: programme, level, scarcity, travel, length, frequency
  • Higher Level sciences and rarer languages carry the scarcity premium
  • Eastern Freeway access reduces the travel component for this building
  • Two shorter sessions usually beat one long weekly visit
  • Ask for the weekly structure before asking for a rate
  • Insist on a short written note after each early session

Four weeks, one term and one exam cycle: what progress looks like in Mumbai

At four weeks you should not expect a grade change, and a tutor who promises one is guessing. What you should see at four weeks is behavioural: the child attempts questions she previously skipped, the laboratory notebook has dated entries, the internal assessment has a research question rather than a topic, and the homework argument at home has become quieter. If none of those has shifted after four sessions, the match is wrong and it is better to say so in week five than in month four.

At one term the evidence becomes academic. Criteria marks on returned MYP work move by a level or the teacher comment changes in character; a DP student's past-paper attempts show structure rather than content gaps; the student can explain what a command word is asking for. One term is also long enough to see whether the tutor is teaching or rescuing. A tutor who is teaching leaves the student able to do the next question alone. A tutor who is rescuing produces beautiful homework and a student who stalls in a test.

At one examination cycle you learn whether the method held under pressure. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and will not publish success rates, because a tutor is one input among the school, the teacher, the subject choices made two years earlier and the student's own willingness to work on a Sunday. What good tutoring reliably changes is the gap between what a student knows and what they manage to show an examiner, and that gap is often where the marks were sitting all along.

There are times to not hire a tutor, and saying so costs us nothing. If the problem is sleep, screens or a subject chosen to please a parent, extra teaching will not touch it. If a DP 2 student is failing four subjects in February, the conversation needed is with the coordinator about load and options, not with us about hours. And when a tutor is not working out, tell us in plain terms: we replace the tutor, the new tutor gets the notes and the school calendar, and you do not pay twice for the same four weeks.

  • Four weeks: behaviour changes, not grades
  • One term: criteria marks, structured past-paper attempts, command-word fluency
  • Teaching leaves the student able to do the next question alone
  • No grade guarantees and no published success rates
  • Replacement tutor inherits the notes and the school calendar
  • Sleep, screens and wrong subject choices are not tutoring problems

Starting IB home classes in Piramal Aranya: what to have ready

Have four things ready before the first session and the first hour stops being an interview. The most recent report card with the teacher comments, not just the grades. One marked piece of work the child did badly on. The school's internal assessment calendar, if the coordinator has issued it. And a decision about where in the flat the lessons will happen: a table, a chair for the tutor, a plug, and no television in earshot. The all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Piramal Aranya residents ask about usually resolve into two subjects and two evenings once that information is on the table.

The first session itself should be diagnostic rather than instructional, and you should expect it to look slightly unproductive. A good tutor spends it watching the student work: setting two questions at the right level, two slightly above, and noting where the method breaks rather than where the answer is wrong. By the end they should be able to tell you one specific thing to fix and roughly how long it will take. If the first session was a lecture, ask why.

Settle the logistics in that same week. Fix the day and time, register the tutor at the gate as a recurring visitor, agree what happens when a session is missed on either side, and agree how feedback reaches you: a short note after each session is enough, and a monthly phone call is better than a report nobody reads. Families who leave these four questions open are the families who come back in November asking why the arrangement has drifted.

What we need from you to start is short. The programme, the year group, the subjects, the school, the two evenings that work, and one honest line about what is actually going wrong. A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai parents sometimes imagine does not exist above MYP 3, so naming the subjects precisely is what gets you a specialist rather than a stopgap.

  • Bring the report card with comments, not only the grades
  • Bring one marked piece of work that went badly
  • Fix the study spot: table, plug, no television in earshot
  • First session is diagnostic and should look slow
  • Agree missed-session rules and feedback format in week one
FAQs

Piramal Aranya tutoring — questions parents ask

Can an IB home tutor travel to Piramal Aranya for a 7pm weekday slot?+

Yes, and 7pm is the most commonly booked slot in this complex. The tutors who hold it reliably are the ones already teaching other families inside the Byculla, Mahalaxmi and Parel triangle, so the 7pm visit is their second or third stop rather than a special trip. Tutors coming from Chembur or Wadala also hold it well, because Eastern Freeway access brings them to the gate in under twenty minutes. The slot that fails is the one that needs a tutor to cross from the western suburbs through the evening peak; we will tell you that at the matching stage rather than after three cancellations.

How does a tutor get through the gate at our building every week?+

Register them once as a recurring visitor rather than relying on a call to the flat each time. Give security the tutor's full name, phone number and the fixed day and time in writing in the first week, and tell the tutor to carry photo identity to every session. Piramal Aranya runs on a single gate with a visitor log, and the ten minutes lost in the lobby comes out of your teaching hour, not the tutor's travel time. Households that sort this in week one almost never raise it again; households that do not tend to lose the slot by the second month.

Which IB subjects are hardest to find a tutor for in South Mumbai?+

Higher Level Chemistry, Higher Level Physics, Higher Level Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, and the less common Group 2 languages are the scarce ones across Mumbai, and they are scarcer on the island than in the western suburbs. For those we widen the search beyond the usual radius and lean on the Eastern Freeway corridor, because a Chembur or Wadala specialist reaching Byculla in twenty minutes is a better answer than a nearby generalist. Standard Level Business Management, Economics, Mathematics Applications and Interpretation and English A are comfortably available within walking and short-driving distance.

Is one tutor enough for a DP student taking three Higher Level subjects?+

Almost never, and treating one tutor as sufficient is the most expensive mistake families make in DP 1. Higher Level subjects each have their own internal assessment, command vocabulary and examiner expectations, and the person strong in Higher Level Chemistry is rarely the person strong in Language A commentary. Most families here end up with one specialist for the subject that is genuinely failing and a short online arrangement for a second, rather than one person covering three. If a tutor offers to teach all three Higher Level subjects, ask which of them they have marked.

My child is in MYP 3 and the report card makes no sense to us. Where do we start?+

Start with the criteria, not the content. MYP marks against published strands, so a child can know the material and still score low because the response does not do what the strand asks. The first useful piece of work for a tutor is one marked assignment plus the teacher comment, and the first useful exercise is rewriting a single paragraph of it against the strand language until the parent can see the difference too. Two or three sessions of this usually changes the grade pattern more than a term of content revision, because the gap was never knowledge.

What do IB tuition fees in Piramal Aranya depend on?+

Programme and level, subject scarcity, travel distance, session length, weekly frequency, and when in the school year you are asking. Higher Level sciences and rarer languages carry a scarcity premium wherever the tutor lives, and a request made three weeks before mocks costs more than the same request made in June because availability is the thing you are actually buying. This building has one structural advantage: because a Chembur or Wadala tutor arrives in under twenty minutes, you are not paying for a two-hour round trip from the distant suburbs. Ask any tutor how they would structure the week before asking for a rate.

Does online IB tutoring actually work for a younger child?+

No, not for PYP or most MYP 1 students, and we will say so rather than book it. A child who cannot work alone for twenty minutes drifts on a video call and the parent becomes an unpaid invigilator, which is worse than no tutor. Online earns its place from MYP 4 upward, and it is genuinely good for DP students in the weeks before examinations, when a short focused session on one past-paper question beats a cancelled visit. For younger children, home classes in Mumbai with the tutor at the table are the only arrangement that reliably holds attention.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after three weeks?+

Tell us in plain terms and we replace them, with no charge for the re-match. The useful thing is to say what specifically is wrong: the student is not attempting work between sessions, the tutor lectures rather than diagnoses, the slot keeps moving, or the two of them simply do not get on. The replacement tutor receives the notes from the sessions already done and the school's internal calendar, so you are not paying twice to cover the same four weeks. Three weeks is a reasonable point to judge, because behavioural change should be visible by then even though grades will not have moved.

Can a tutor from Chembur or Wadala really commute here for an evening session?+

Yes, and this is the one genuinely unusual thing about tutoring in this building. Piramal Aranya overlooks Rani Baug at Byculla and has Eastern Freeway access, which means a Chembur or Wadala tutor reaches the gate in under twenty minutes while a tutor leaving Bandra at the same hour is still on the Western Express Highway. We use that deliberately for scarce Higher Level subjects. It is also why we hold the line on not pulling tutors down from the far western or central suburbs, where the same twenty minutes becomes an hour in the evening peak.

Does a parent need to be at home during the session?+

For PYP and MYP 1, yes, at least nearby and ideally in the room for part of it. For MYP 4 and above, no, and a parent in the room usually makes an adolescent perform rather than work. What matters more than presence is the five-minute handover at the end: ask the tutor what was covered, what the student should do before the next session, and what they could not get through. Households where a staff member lets the tutor in and nobody speaks to them for a term are the ones where arrangements quietly stop producing anything.

There has been no visible progress after a month. What now?+

Separate the two possible causes before changing anything. Either the diagnosis was wrong, which shows up as sessions covering content the student already knew, or the diagnosis was right and nothing is happening between sessions. The first is the tutor's problem and is fixed by a re-match. The second is fixed by a different structure: shorter, more frequent contact and a written task list the student signs off. Ask the tutor which of the two it is and expect a specific answer. A tutor who says the student needs more time without naming what changed is not watching closely enough.

Can you tell us what grade our child will get by May?+

No. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and does not publish success rates, because a tutor is one input alongside the school, the teacher, the subject choices made in Year 10 and the student's own effort on a Sunday afternoon. What a good tutor can tell you by about the fourth session is narrower and more useful: which specific marks are currently being lost, whether the cause is knowledge or technique, and roughly how long the fix takes. Treat any tutor who answers the grade question with a number as someone to decline politely.
