Pali Hill, Western Suburbs, Mumbai
Looking for an IB home tutor in Pali Hill? This page sets out what IB Gram actually arranges for families on these lanes: a verified subject specialist who comes to your flat, a free discovery call before anything is booked, and a shortlist built around your child's year group, subjects and the 5pm or 8pm slot that genuinely works here.
School names are shown for local academic context only. IB Gram is an independent tutoring platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any school listed here.
Verified IB tutors available across Mumbai for PYP, MYP and the Diploma Programme.

Start with the request, not the catalogue. When a parent on Pali Hill writes in, the brief that actually produces a good match is four lines long: the year group, the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme stage, the two or three subjects that are genuinely slipping, and the window in the week when a tutor can realistically be sitting at your dining table. Everything else follows from those four lines. An IB home tutor in Pali Hill who is excellent with a Diploma Programme (DP) Year 12 Chemistry student is not automatically right for a Primary Years Programme (PYP) Grade 4 reader, and the reverse holds just as firmly.
The sequence runs like this. 1. You send the brief: year group, programme, subjects, preferred days and the slot you want. 2. IB Gram checks which verified tutors already work the Bandra end of the Western Suburbs and can hold a standing weekly slot on these one-way lanes. 3. Two or three profiles come back, each carrying the boards that tutor has taught, the levels they take, and the subjects they will not take. 4. You choose one and take a free discovery call, usually around twenty minutes, with the tutor rather than with a coordinator. 5. Lessons begin only after you say yes, and the first written review arrives two to four weeks later.
The shortlist is short on purpose. A list of fifteen profiles is a list nobody reads, and it usually means the matching was done on availability instead of on subject fit. Two or three names, each with a reason attached, is a decision a parent can make in an evening. If none of them fits, say so on the call and the next shortlist is built from what you rejected, which is far more useful information than what you originally asked for. Several Pali Hill families have ended up with a different subject than the one they first wrote in about, because the discovery call surfaced that the Maths problem was really a reading-the-question problem.
Scheduling is part of the match here, not an afterthought. Pali Hill's lanes are narrow and one-way in stretches, and the school-pickup congestion that spills onto Ambedkar Road makes a 6pm arrival a coin toss. So home tuition in this pocket of Mumbai is normally set at 5pm, before the pickup wave, or at 8pm, after it has cleared. A tutor who agrees to 6.30pm because it suits them on paper will be late three weeks in four, and a lesson that starts late ends tired. We would rather lose a tutor from the shortlist at this stage than lose the slot in week five.
The International Baccalaureate runs as three separate programmes, and the kind of help a child needs changes completely between them. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) covers the early and primary years and is organised around transdisciplinary units rather than subject periods, so a PYP tutor is working on reading stamina, number sense, written explanation and the habit of asking a researchable question. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) runs across five years and marks work against published criteria rather than a percentage, which is why a parent can read an MYP report and still not know what went wrong. The Diploma Programme (DP) is the final two years, with Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) subjects, internal assessments in almost every subject, and the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) running alongside.
Getting the stage right matters more than getting the subject right, because the failure modes are different. A PYP child who is behind is usually behind on one underlying skill that shows up in four places. An MYP child who is behind is usually producing work that would score well on a test and scores badly against a criterion, because nobody has shown them what the criterion is asking for. A DP student who is behind is almost always behind on time, not on understanding: the content was covered, the past paper practice was not. An IB home tutor in Pali Hill who has taught all three will tell you which of those three problems you have within one session, and that diagnosis is most of the value.
Most families in this part of Mumbai reach us at one of two transition points. The first is the move into the MYP years, when the reporting language changes and parents lose the ability to read progress at a glance. The second is the entry into DP1, when subject choices lock in, HL demand becomes real and the internal assessment calendar starts to bite. Both are good moments to bring in support and both are badly served by a general tutor. The programme stage determines the tutor, which is why it is the first question on the brief rather than something sorted out later.
IB Gram arranges home tuition across all three programmes in Mumbai, and the tutor pool is deliberately not interchangeable. A DP HL Physics specialist is not asked to cover PYP numeracy to fill a diary gap. If the right person for your child's stage is not currently travelling Pali Hill, we say that rather than offering a near-enough substitute, and in most cases the honest answer is a tutor on a slightly different day rather than a different tutor on your preferred day.
Subject choice across both boards is where a lot of avoidable damage happens, and the damage is done quietly in a form filled in during a busy fortnight. In the Diploma Programme a student picks across six groups and nominates three at Higher Level, and that HL decision is not simply more of the same content. HL adds depth, extra assessed material and, in several subjects, a different style of question entirely. A student who is comfortable at Standard Level Mathematics and takes Higher Level because a university page mentioned it will spend two years fighting the choice. A good tutor will ask what the student wants to study afterwards, read the current subject guide with you, and then say plainly whether the HL is load-bearing for that plan or decorative.
Almost every DP subject carries an internal assessment, and the internal assessment is the piece that most often goes wrong without anyone noticing until the deadline. Mathematics asks for a written exploration on a topic of the student's own choosing, which sounds generous and is in practice the hardest part of the course to start. The experimental sciences ask for an individual scientific investigation, where the marks sit in the design and the evaluation far more than in the result. Language A courses carry oral and written components built on the texts studied. History and Economics ask for written work built on source handling or on real-world material the student has found. The structures are revised on the boards' own cycles, so check the current subject guide or your school's IB coordinator before relying on any version of them you read online, including ours.
For Middle Years Programme students the equivalent pressure is criterion-based. Work is assessed against published criteria for each subject group, and a student can write a fluent, accurate answer that misses a criterion completely because it never did the thing the criterion names. This is the single most common reason a bright MYP student has a report that reads worse than their work. An hour spent mapping last term's marked tasks against the criteria usually explains the whole picture, and it is often the first thing a tutor does. Home classes in Mumbai that start with the marked work rather than with the textbook get to the real problem in week one.
At the edges of subject choice there is also scarcity. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and English are well covered in the Western Suburbs. Subjects such as Visual Arts, Music, Theatre, Psychology, Global Politics, Computer Science and the less commonly taught languages have a much thinner pool, and a family wanting all IB and IGCSE subjects covered by one tutor in Pali Hill will find that no single person honestly spans them. The same goes for the all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Pali Hill parents sometimes describe as one weekly booking, and for the home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai search results keep promising: both describe a small team rather than a person. Expect two tutors rather than one for an unusual combination, and expect a longer wait for a genuine specialist than for a generalist who is willing to try.
Pali Hill sits above Bandra West, with Bandstand on its sea-facing side and Khar West immediately to the north, and the nearest railhead for almost everybody is Bandra station on the Western Line. That geography is why matching works the way it does. The Western Suburbs run roughly north to south along the Western Express Highway and the Western Line, so a tutor travelling from Bandra to Andheri is quick off-peak and slow and unpredictable at 6pm. Matching along the line, Khar to Santacruz or Malad to Kandivali, works considerably better than matching across it, and a tutor who lives three kilometres away on the wrong side of a peak-hour bottleneck is further away in practice than one who lives six kilometres up the line.
In practice an IB home tutor in Pali Hill is usually someone already working Bandra West, Khar West and Bandstand, because those four pockets form one travel unit. A tutor can hold a 5pm slot on Pali Hill and an 8pm slot in Khar West on the same evening without crossing a highway. Pull the same tutor from Powai or Chembur and the arithmetic stops working: they will make the first month and then start asking to move the slot. We would rather match within this cluster and tell you the honest truth about availability than place someone who is commuting across Mumbai twice a week and resenting it by October.
The lanes themselves shape the timetable more than the distance does. Pali Hill's roads are narrow, one-way in stretches, and the school-pickup traffic that builds on Ambedkar Road in the late afternoon turns a ten-minute approach into half an hour. A tutor arriving by car will often park on a side lane and walk the last stretch; a tutor on two wheels is usually the one who can hold a 5pm start reliably through the monsoon. None of this is in anyone's profile, which is exactly why it comes up on the discovery call: ask how they are getting here and what happens when the rain starts.
Link Road and the Western Express Highway give access from further north, Metro Line 1 connects Versova, Andheri and Ghatkopar, and Metro Lines 2A and 7 run the Dahisar to Andheri and Gundavali stretch, so a tutor coming down from Andheri or Jogeshwari has real options outside peak. For a Saturday morning slot the catchment widens considerably, which is why families wanting a scarce subject are often better off taking a weekend slot with the right specialist than a weekday slot with a near-enough one. IB home tuition in Pali Hill is scheduled around that trade-off rather than pretending it does not exist.
Children from these lanes are spread across a handful of international schools, and the calendar they bring home sets the whole shape of the tutoring year. Families here send children to Jamnabai Narsee International School in Juhu, to Dhirubhai Ambani International School in the Bandra Kurla Complex, and to Billabong High International School, among others. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform and is not affiliated with any of those schools, or with the International Baccalaureate, or with Cambridge International Education. We name them because their calendars are the calendars your child lives by, and because a tutor who has taught students from them already knows how those calendars behave.
The pressure points are reasonably predictable once you have watched a few cycles. The academic year opens around June, and the first six weeks are the cheapest time in the year to fix a foundation problem because nothing is due. By late September and October the Middle Years Programme criterion tasks and the first DP internal assessment drafts arrive together, and a student carrying three HL subjects will have two of them asking for written work in the same fortnight. November brings mock examinations in most DP2 cohorts. January and February are when final internal assessment drafts and the Extended Essay converge, and this is the stretch where families who have never used a tutor suddenly start calling. March and April are study leave and past-paper season, and the May session follows.
Knowing that calendar changes what a tutor is for at different times of year. A tutor hired in July is doing diagnostic and foundation work and can afford to go slowly. A tutor hired in January is doing triage, and should say so rather than pretending a term's worth of gaps can be closed in six weeks. The useful question to ask an IB home tutor in Mumbai on the discovery call is not whether they can help, but what they would drop if there were only eight weeks. A tutor who cannot answer that has not worked a DP2 spring.
There is a practical consequence for booking as well. Demand for home tuition across this part of Mumbai peaks twice, once in the June to July settling-in weeks and once in the January crunch, and the scarce-subject specialists are gone first. A family that knows in October that Chemistry is a problem and books in October gets a genuine choice of tutor. The same family calling in late January gets whoever is still free, which is a smaller and more random set. Nothing about our process changes in January; what changes is how much choice the shortlist can honestly contain.
Home tuition first, because for most families on Pali Hill it is simply the thing that holds. A tutor in the room reads a student's face, sees the page they are writing on, spots the moment attention goes and takes the pen back. There is no setup friction, no sibling negotiating for the laptop, and no silent twenty minutes where a student has been staring at a question nobody could see them not answering. The cost of home tuition is travel: fewer tutors can reach you, scarce subjects get scarcer, and a 5pm or 8pm slot has to be agreed and then protected. That is the trade and it is worth naming before you choose.
An IB online tutor in Pali Hill solves exactly the problems home tuition creates. The catchment becomes the whole country rather than the Bandra cluster, so a genuine Higher Level Theatre or Global Politics specialist becomes findable. Scheduling becomes elastic: a 7am session before school is possible online and impossible in person. Nothing is lost to the rain. What is lost is the thing a fifteen-year-old most needs, which is a person physically present when the work gets boring. Online works well for a self-managing DP2 student doing targeted past-paper review. It works poorly for a Middle Years Programme student who has not yet built the habit of sitting down.
Hybrid is what a lot of these families actually settle into, usually without planning it. One home session a week carries the teaching and the accountability, and a shorter online session midweek handles a specific question, a marked paper or a draft that needs a read before it is submitted. The midweek online slot costs almost nothing in travel and can be moved at a day's notice, which matters in a term where school trips and assessment weeks keep moving. The home slot stays fixed and becomes the spine of the week. If you are unsure which mode to commit to, start hybrid and let four weeks tell you which half is doing the work.
One honest caveat on online delivery for younger children. A PYP or early MYP student online needs a parent within earshot for the first few weeks, not to supervise content but to keep the session from quietly becoming a video call nobody is in. Families who do not have an adult at home at 5pm are usually better served by home classes, even if it means a narrower choice of tutor. IB Gram arranges all three modes across Mumbai and will tell you which one we think fits your case, including when that answer is the cheaper one.
Verification on IB Gram happens before a profile is shown to you, not after you have had a bad month. A tutor submits government photo identity and it is matched against the name on the profile. Degree and teaching qualifications are collected as documents, not as claims in a biography. Board experience is recorded specifically: which programme, which subjects, which levels, and over what period, because the difference between someone who has taught Standard Level Mathematics and someone who has taught Higher Level Mathematics is not a nuance. References from previous families are taken up for tutors new to the platform. Anyone whose documents do not reconcile does not reach the shortlist, and no profile reaches you with gaps quietly left blank.
What verification cannot do is tell you whether this person will work with your child, and anybody suggesting otherwise is selling. A verified tutor is a tutor whose claims are true. Fit is a separate question and it is settled in the discovery call and the first two sessions. This is why the call exists and why it is free: twenty minutes on the phone will tell you more about whether a tutor can hold a distracted fourteen-year-old's attention than any document ever will. An IB private tutor Pali Hill families keep for three years is almost always one who passed the paperwork easily and then said something unexpectedly specific on the call. Parents who type best IB tutor in Pali Hill into a search box are really asking that second question, and no uploaded document will ever answer it for them.
There are four checks a parent should run themselves, and they take one conversation. Ask which exact syllabus version and level they are teaching now, this year, with another student. Ask what they would do in session one, and listen for whether the answer involves looking at your child's marked work or starting the textbook from chapter one. Ask what they will not teach, because a tutor who claims every subject is claiming nothing. And ask what the first written review will contain. A tutor who promises a specific grade on that call has told you something important about their judgement, and the right response is to end the call politely.
After matching, the review cycle is the real check. Every two to four weeks you get a written note: what was covered, what the student can now do unaided, what is still broken, and what the next block will target. That note is the document that tells you whether home tuition in Mumbai is earning its slot. If the notes are vague, say so immediately rather than at the end of term. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and will not publish outcome statistics, because any number quoted without the cohort behind it is marketing. What we will do is keep the review cycle honest and replace a tutor who is not working.
Nobody can quote you a rate honestly without knowing five things, so here are the five. IB tuition fees in Pali Hill depend on the programme stage, the level within it, how scarce the subject is, how far the tutor is travelling and how long each session runs. Those five move the number far more than anything on a tutor's profile. A Primary Years Programme numeracy session and a Higher Level Physics session are not the same product and are not priced as one. We publish no price list on this page because a figure written in one year misleads a parent reading in the next, and because a rate quoted without the session length attached tells you nothing.
Programme stage and level are the biggest single factor. The pool of tutors who can teach Higher Level Mathematics or Higher Level Chemistry to a DP2 student in exam year is small, and small pools price accordingly. Scarcity compounds it: a subject taught in two schools in Mumbai has perhaps a handful of credible home tutors in the whole city, and that is a different market from Mathematics. Travel is the factor parents most often underestimate. A tutor who already teaches in Khar West and adds a Pali Hill slot is absorbing almost no extra travel. A tutor crossing from the Central Suburbs for one lesson is spending two hours on the road for a ninety-minute session, and that time is in the rate whether or not anyone itemises it.
Session length and frequency are the two levers a parent actually controls. Two shorter sessions a week usually beat one long one for a Middle Years Programme student, because the gap between sessions is where the forgetting happens. For a DP2 student working through past papers the opposite is often true: a single longer block gives room to attempt a full paper and then mark it together, which is the part that teaches. Frequency should be set by what the term demands, not fixed for the year. Many families here run two sessions a week through the October and January pressure points and drop to one in between.
Two smaller factors are worth knowing. Siblings taught in the same visit are usually arranged differently from two separate bookings, which is a real saving for a family with a Middle Years Programme child and a Diploma Programme child in the same flat, provided the subjects are different enough that the tutor is genuinely teaching twice rather than babysitting once. And a trial block matters more than a discount: four sessions at the normal rate with a written review at the end is a better purchase than twelve sessions bought cheaply from someone you have met for twenty minutes. There is no lock-in on IB Gram, so the trial block is the default rather than a concession.
At four weeks you should be able to see three specific things, and a grade is not one of them. First, your child can explain what they are doing wrong. A student who says the Mathematics exploration is going badly has learned nothing; a student who says the exploration has no clear research question and they now know how to write one has learned a great deal. Second, the tutor can name the gap in one sentence and show you the marked work it came from. Third, something unaided has changed: a question type attempted without prompting, a draft started without a deadline pushing it. If none of those three is visible after four weeks of home classes, the match is wrong and it should be changed rather than given another month.
At one term the measure shifts to independence. The right outcome is a student who needs the tutor for less, not more. School marks may well have moved by then and they may not have, because a term often contains only two or three assessed pieces and one bad day can hide real improvement. What should certainly have moved is the volume of work the student can complete alone, the quality of their first draft before anyone reads it, and their ability to say which topics they are weak in. A term is also long enough to see whether the slot is holding, and a slot that has been moved five times is telling you something about the match that no progress note will.
Across a full examination cycle the honest position is that a tutor is one input among several. School teaching, the student's own hours, the subject combination they chose eighteen months earlier, attendance, sleep and what else is happening in their life all move the result. A tutor who worked well can be followed by a result nobody wanted, and a tutor who was mediocre can be followed by a good one. This is why IB Gram does not guarantee grades, does not publish success rates and treats any tutor who offers a specific grade as a problem rather than a selling point. What a good tutor reliably changes is how prepared a student is on the morning of the paper.
When a tutor is not working, the replacement is meant to be undramatic. Tell IB Gram, in writing if you prefer, and say what specifically is not working: the pace, the explanation style, the punctuality, the fact that your child goes quiet for the full hour. That detail goes into the next shortlist and is the main reason a second match usually lands better than the first. There is no notice period, no exit fee and no obligation to explain yourself to the tutor directly if you would rather not. Most families who change tutors do it in week three or four, which is exactly when it should happen rather than in February.
Three things make the first session worth what you paid for it, and all three take ten minutes to assemble. The first is the last marked work: two or three pieces with the teacher's comments still on them, not cleaned-up final versions. Marked work is the only honest diagnostic available, and a tutor who starts there will be two weeks ahead of one who starts with a textbook. The second is the school's assessment calendar for the term, so the tutor can see what is due when and plan backwards. The third is your own one-line statement of what would count as this having worked, which is a harder sentence to write than most parents expect and is worth writing before the call rather than during it.
Set the room before the tutor arrives, once, and then stop thinking about it. A table, two chairs, a light that works for a 5pm or an 8pm session, a plug within reach, and a door that can be closed. Not the dining table in the middle of a flat where three other things are happening. Flats on Pali Hill are not always large and the right spot is often a bedroom desk rather than a formal study, which is fine; the only requirement is that it is the same spot every week, because the room becomes part of the habit. Tell the tutor where to park or which lane to walk in from, and tell the gate or the building staff the name and the day once rather than every week.
The first session itself is diagnostic and should feel like it. Expect the tutor to spend a sizeable part of the hour reading your child's work and asking questions rather than teaching, and expect to be given a plan at the end rather than a verdict. A tutor who teaches confidently for the full first hour without having looked at anything has decided what the problem is before meeting the student. Ask to hear what they found, in plain language, before they leave. Searches like IB tutors near me Pali Hill end in a booking easily enough; what separates a good booking from a bad one is almost entirely what happens in those first sixty minutes.
After that, the rhythm is simple. The slot stays where it is, the review arrives every two to four weeks, and you read it properly rather than filing it. If something is wrong, say it in week three. If the subject list needs to grow, say that too, and expect to be told honestly whether one tutor should take all of it or whether a second specialist is the better answer. IB Gram arranges home tuition across Mumbai, Maharashtra on exactly these terms: an independent platform, verified tutors, written reviews, no lock-in, and no promises about grades that nobody can keep.
Mostly diagnosis, not teaching. A good first session is the tutor reading your child's recent marked work, asking them to attempt two or three questions unaided, and listening to how they explain their own thinking. From that they should be able to name the gap in one sentence and propose what the next four sessions will target. You should get that plan verbally before they leave. If the tutor instead teaches confidently from page one of a textbook for the full hour, they decided what was wrong before meeting your child, and that is worth raising immediately rather than after a month.
Yes, and almost all our weekday bookings here are evening slots, but the time matters. Pali Hill's lanes are narrow and one-way in parts, and school-pickup congestion on Ambedkar Road makes a 6pm or 6.30pm arrival unreliable for most of the year. So evening sessions in this pocket are normally set at 5pm, ahead of the pickup wave, or at 8pm once it has cleared. Tutors already working Bandra West, Bandstand or Khar West manage both comfortably. Ask on the discovery call how the tutor is travelling and what their plan is during monsoon, because that answer predicts whether the slot survives to December.
On five factors: the programme stage, the level within it, how scarce the subject is, how far the tutor travels and how long each session runs. Higher Level exam-year subjects draw on the smallest pool of tutors and price accordingly. A tutor who already teaches in Khar West and adds a Pali Hill slot absorbs very little extra travel; one crossing from the Central Suburbs is spending two hours on the road for a ninety-minute lesson. We deliberately publish no price list, because a figure written one year misleads a parent reading the next, and because a rate quoted without a session length attached tells you nothing useful.
All three, with different tutors for each. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) work is skill-led: reading stamina, number sense, written explanation, asking a researchable question. Middle Years Programme (MYP) work is criterion-based, and the usual problem is a student writing fluently while missing what the criterion asked for. Diploma Programme (DP) work is mostly a timing and past-paper problem rather than a comprehension one. A tutor strong at one of those stages is not automatically strong at another, so we match to the stage rather than offering whoever is free. If the right specialist is not currently travelling here, we will say so instead of substituting.
Tell us and we replace them, with no notice period and no exit fee. Week three or four is exactly when this should happen, not February. What makes the second match better is detail: say whether the problem is pace, explanation style, punctuality, or that your child goes quiet for the whole hour. That goes straight into the next shortlist. You do not have to explain yourself to the outgoing tutor if you would rather not. There is no lock-in on IB Gram, which is the point of the arrangement rather than a concession, and most families who change in month one stay with the second tutor for years.
It depends almost entirely on the student's age and self-management. For a Diploma Programme student in exam year doing targeted past-paper review, online is close to equivalent and sometimes better, because the catchment becomes national and a genuine Higher Level specialist in a rare subject becomes findable. For a Middle Years Programme student who has not yet built the habit of sitting down, online is markedly weaker: nobody is in the room to take the pen back when attention goes. An IB online tutor in Pali Hill is also immune to rain and traffic, which is why many families run a hybrid week rather than choosing.
Parking on Pali Hill is genuinely tight and most tutors plan around it rather than solve it. Those arriving by car typically park on a side lane and walk the last stretch; tutors on two wheels have an easier time and tend to hold 5pm starts most reliably through monsoon. For building access, register the tutor's name and the standing day with your security desk or building staff once, rather than phoning down every week. It takes one conversation and removes the ten minutes at the gate that otherwise eats the start of every session. Tell the tutor which lane to approach from, since several here are one-way.
Many do, because children from Pali Hill, Bandra West and Khar West are spread across a small number of schools and tutors working this cluster see the same calendars repeatedly. Families here also attend Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Billabong High International School, among others. What matters is that the tutor can plan backwards from your school's own assessment dates rather than from a generic term plan. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with any of those schools; we name them because their calendars set the pressure points your child actually lives with through October, November, January and February.
Two well, sometimes three if they are closely related, and almost never four. Mathematics with Physics is a credible pairing; Mathematics with Chemistry and Economics and English is not, and a tutor who claims all of it is claiming nothing. Ask directly what they will not teach, because the refusal is the most informative thing in the answer. For an unusual combination, expect two tutors rather than one, and expect the specialist in the rarer subject to need a weekend slot. A family wanting all IB and IGCSE subjects covered by one tutor in Pali Hill is asking for something no honest person provides.
Yes, and most tutors who take Pali Hill bookings already work that cluster. Pali Hill, Bandstand, Bandra West and Khar West form a single travel unit, so a tutor can hold a 5pm session in one and an 8pm in another on the same evening without crossing a highway. The Western Suburbs run north to south along the Western Express Highway and the Western Line, so matching along the line, Khar to Santacruz for instance, holds up far better than matching across it. Bandra station is the usual reference point, with Link Road and the metro lines giving access from further north off-peak.
Four questions, and they take ten minutes. Which exact syllabus version and level are you teaching right now, this year, with another student? What would you do in session one? What subjects will you not teach? And what will the first written review contain? Listen for whether session one involves looking at marked work or starting a textbook from chapter one. If the tutor promises a specific grade at any point, that is a judgement problem rather than a confidence signal, and ending the call politely is the right response. The call is free and with the tutor, not with a coordinator.
No. There is no lock-in, no minimum commitment and no exit fee, and we would rather you ran a four-session trial at the normal rate than bought a discounted twelve-session package from someone you have met for twenty minutes. The written review at the end of that trial is what tells you whether to continue. Frequency should follow what the term demands: many families here run two sessions a week through the October and January pressure points and drop to one in between. IB Gram does not guarantee grades and will not quote a success rate, because a number without its cohort is advertising.
Send four lines: your child's year group, the IB programme stage, the two or three subjects that are slipping, and whether you want a 5pm or an 8pm slot. You will get two or three verified profiles with reasons attached, and a free discovery call with whichever one you choose. Lessons start only after you say yes, the first written review lands two to four weeks later, and nothing locks you in.
