How IB Gram matches an IB home tutor in Ashford Royale, Mumbai

A request for IB home tuition in Ashford Royale usually reaches us as four lines: the year group, the subjects, the evenings that are free, and whether an adult will be in the flat. That is enough to start work. Ashford Royale sits on the Bhandup–Thane, LBS Marg corridor, and that one fact shapes the shortlist more than anything else a parent tells us, because two separate tutor pools can physically reach your gate. The Mulund West tutors who already teach International Baccalaureate (IB) families at NES International School come up LBS Marg. The Thane West tutors who work with Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School students come down through Majiwada and Pokhran Road. Most addresses in Mumbai draw from one pool. This complex draws from both, and a parent who knows that can ask for a second opinion on availability instead of accepting the first name offered.

The process itself is short and deliberately unglamorous. 1. You send the year group, the subject list and two or three workable evening windows. 2. We filter to tutors who have taught that exact programme level, Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) or Diploma Programme (DP), and then to those who can hold your slot for a full term without fighting the Ghodbunder Road evening peak. 3. You receive two or three profiles that state the subjects taught, the years taught at that level, and which side of the seam the tutor travels from. 4. You speak to your first choice before anything is booked, and you ask the questions listed in the verification section further down this page. 5. The first paid session happens in your flat, and we check in with you after four of them.

What we do not do is send a generalist and hope. Parents here ask about all IB and IGCSE subjects and the tutor in Ashford Royale who answers for a Year 5 reader is almost never the right person for a DP2 Higher Level (HL) Chemistry candidate. A request for all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Ashford Royale residents can run around school hours arrives most often in Year 9 and Year 11, and we split it into separate matches rather than pretending one person covers it. If a subject is genuinely scarce in this corridor, we say so on the first call instead of stalling for a fortnight.

Gate logistics are part of the match, not an afterthought. A tutor arriving for weekly home classes in Mumbai needs a repeatable way through the entrance, and in a complex like this that means either your name on a standing visitor list or a pass renewed through the society office. We raise it before the first session, because a tutor who is turned away at 6:40pm on a Tuesday loses the slot and the goodwill in one go.

  • Year group, subject list and two evening windows are enough to begin matching
  • Tutors filtered by programme level first, then by travel reliability from the seam
  • Two or three profiles, each naming the side of the corridor they travel from
  • You interview the tutor before any payment or booking is confirmed
  • Gate access and visitor protocol raised before the first weekly session

PYP, MYP and DP under one roof in Ashford Royale

The International Baccalaureate is three programmes, not one course, and inside a single tower complex you will find children in all three at the same time. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) runs through the early and primary years and is organised around transdisciplinary units rather than subject periods, so a PYP child comes home talking about a central idea and an inquiry rather than a chapter. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) covers the middle school years and reports against published criteria in every subject group, which is the first point at which most parents in Mumbai discover their child's report card no longer carries a percentage. The Diploma Programme (DP) is the two-year pre-university stretch with Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) choices, Internal Assessment (IA) coursework in nearly every subject, the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).

Those three stages need different tutors, and that is the single most useful thing a parent at Ashford Royale can understand before shortlisting. A PYP tutor is working on reading stamina, number sense and the habit of explaining thinking out loud. An MYP tutor is working on command terms and criterion descriptors: a child who writes a good answer and still scores in the middle band is usually answering the question they wish had been asked. A DP tutor is working backwards from a published assessment structure and a school's internal deadline calendar. Hiring the PYP tutor for the MYP year because the family likes them is the most common avoidable mistake we see in this corridor.

The continuum is also why an IB home tutor in Ashford Royale is worth choosing with a longer horizon than one term. A family that starts in Year 4 and stays with IB Gram through Year 12 will work with several tutors, and the handover matters: what the MYP tutor knew about a child's writing process is worth passing to the DP tutor who inherits the Extended Essay. We keep that continuity on our side rather than making you re-explain your child every two years.

There is no single best IB tutor in Ashford Royale, because the question is always best for which programme and which year. The coverage line we work to reads all IB and IGCSE subjects IB and IGCSE, Years 1-12 tutor Mumbai parents can reach through one enquiry, and that breadth only helps if each individual match is narrow. Breadth at the platform level, specificity at the tutor level.

  • PYP works through inquiry units, not subject chapters or textbook pages
  • MYP reports against published criteria, which is why percentages disappear
  • DP adds HL and SL choices, Internal Assessment, the Extended Essay and TOK
  • A good PYP tutor is rarely the right MYP or DP tutor for the same child
  • Continuity between tutors is handled by us, not re-explained by you

Which IB subjects do Ashford Royale families ask for most?

Mathematics and the sciences dominate the requests we receive from this corridor, followed by English A and the language acquisition subjects, and then by Economics and Business Management at Diploma Programme level. The Mathematics request is almost always really a route question: Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation are genuinely different subjects with different habits of mind, and a child pushed into the former because it sounds more prestigious will spend two years doing damage. A tutor who has taught both can tell you within three sessions which one fits, and will say so plainly even when it is not the answer the family wanted.

In the sciences the work splits into content and Internal Assessment. Content support looks like ordinary teaching: topics, past paper questions, the standard traps in equilibrium or in genetics. Internal Assessment support looks nothing like it. A DP Physics or Chemistry investigation lives or dies on the research question and the uncertainty treatment, and a tutor's job there is to interrogate a plan before the student spends three weekends collecting data that cannot answer anything. We do not write or edit coursework, and any tutor who offers to is the wrong tutor. Check the current subject guide and your school's coordinator for the structure of each component, because the boards revise those guides on their own cycles.

For English A the request is usually about analytical writing rather than reading. A student who can discuss a poem fluently in class and then writes a flat paragraph needs sentence-level work, not more novels. In MYP that means criterion-aligned paragraphs; in DP it means the specific demands of the papers and the oral components. Language acquisition is the quiet problem in Mumbai IB schools: a child who speaks a language at home is not automatically placed well in it, and the gap between conversational fluency and assessed written performance catches families out in Year 10.

Subject choice itself is work we take seriously, because it is where the leverage is. The combination a Year 11 student locks in determines the next two years of their life, and the decision gets made in a fortnight with incomplete information. A home tutor for all IB and IGCSE subjects Mumbai families consult at that moment is worth more than six months of remedial help afterwards. Ask the tutor what the student actually enjoys reading or building, not just where the marks are.

  • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches versus Applications and Interpretation is a fit question
  • Science IA support means interrogating the research question, never writing the report
  • English A requests are usually about analytical writing, not reading more texts
  • Home language fluency does not mean correct language acquisition placement
  • Subject choice conversations in Year 11 carry more leverage than later remediation

Who covers Ashford Royale from Bhandup, Mulund West and Thane West?

Three areas supply nearly every tutor who teaches here: Bhandup, Mulund West and Thane West. Ashford Royale's station options read Bhandup / Thane on every travel sheet we fill in, and the Central Line between them is the spine of the whole arrangement. A Bhandup tutor is the shortest and most reliable hop, usually a few minutes by road along LBS Marg, which matters disproportionately for an early evening slot. A Mulund West tutor is barely further and brings the advantage of already teaching inside that school ecosystem. A Thane West tutor comes from the largest pool of the three but travels the least predictable route.

Thane spreads west to east from the station across Pokhran Road, Ghodbunder Road and Majiwada, and the Ghodbunder stretch is what sets the schedule. The same run that takes twenty minutes in the middle of the day takes most of an hour at 7pm, and that is not a figure anyone can plan around twice a week for forty weeks. Thane tutors generally cover Thane; Mulund tutors sometimes cross over. So when we match an IB home tutor in Ashford Royale for a weekday evening, the Bhandup and Mulund West side of the seam wins almost every time, and the Thane West pool comes into play for weekend mornings, for scarce subjects, and for families whose slot sits after 8pm when the road has cleared.

The Eastern Express Highway is the other variable. It makes a Thane to Bhandup run quick when it is moving and unusable when it is not, and a tutor who commutes on it will tell you honestly which days they will not promise. The Trans-Harbour Line to Vashi and the Thane–Borivali Tunnel corridor matter less for daily tuition and more for the occasional specialist: a tutor who lives in Navi Mumbai can realistically do a Saturday, not a Wednesday at six.

We say all of this on the first call because the alternative is a match that collapses in week five. Home tuition across this part of Mumbai is a scheduling problem before it is a teaching problem, and a parent who picks the slightly less decorated tutor who lives fifteen minutes away usually gets more teaching over a year than a parent who picks the star from Kasarvadavali. Ask any tutor you shortlist how they will reach your gate on a Wednesday at 6:30pm, and listen for a specific answer.

  • Bhandup tutors are the shortest and most reliable run along LBS Marg
  • Mulund West tutors combine short travel with the NES school ecosystem
  • Thane West offers the largest pool but the least predictable evening journey
  • Ghodbunder Road and the Eastern Express Highway decide what time slots hold
  • Scarce subjects justify a longer journey; weekly core subjects rarely do

The school calendars that set the clock in Mumbai's Bhandup–Thane seam

Children living in this complex are bussed out in two broad directions, and the two anchors in the immediate area are NES International School in Mulund West, which runs both IB and IGCSE pathways, and Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane. Families also travel further west to Powai and to the BKC and Juhu schools, but the local gravity is these two. That matters practically rather than sentimentally: the tutors who already teach children at those schools know the internal deadline rhythm, the reporting format and the vocabulary a coordinator uses in a parent meeting, and that knowledge saves a term of guesswork.

The Mumbai IB year has predictable pressure points, and they are worth knowing before you hire rather than after. The June restart is deceptively calm and is the best window of the year to begin, because a tutor can diagnose properly instead of firefighting. By late August the MYP criterion tasks and the first DP1 assessments land together. October and November bring internal examinations and the first serious Internal Assessment drafts for DP1. The January to February stretch is the worst of it for DP2: Internal Assessment final submissions, the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and mock examinations compress into a few weeks. A DP2 student here sitting May examinations will often have a Physics Internal Assessment deadline in the same fortnight as her Theory of Knowledge essay and a full set of mocks.

The practical consequence is that the worst month to start looking for a tutor is the month you most want one. A family that calls in January for DP2 support is competing for the few tutors with evening capacity left, and the honest answer is often that the available slot is 8:30pm or a weekend morning. A family that calls in July has the pick of the corridor. We cannot change that, so we tell you where in the cycle you are standing.

IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching service. We are not affiliated with NES International School, with Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, or with any other school named on this page, and naming them here is local context so that parents can recognise their own situation. We also do not guarantee grades. What a good match buys is consistent, informed teaching at a sensible hour, and the rest depends on the student.

  • NES International School in Mulund West runs both IB and IGCSE pathways
  • Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School anchors the Thane side of the seam
  • June and July are the best months to start; January is the worst
  • Late August brings MYP criterion tasks and the first DP1 assessments
  • January and February compress IA submissions, the EE, TOK and mocks

Home tuition, online or hybrid for an IB student in Mumbai?

Home tuition is the right default for almost every family at Ashford Royale, and the reason is behavioural rather than pedagogical. A tutor in the room controls attention in a way a screen cannot, sees the page the student is actually writing on, and catches the shrug that means nothing was understood. For PYP and MYP children, that supervision is most of the value. IB home classes in Ashford Royale have the added advantage that the building absorbs the travel risk once, at the gate, rather than every session: a tutor who is cleared for a standing slot walks in and starts.

Online earns its place in three specific situations, and a tutor who claims it is equivalent in all cases is selling. The first is a scarce subject. If your child needs Higher Level Economics or a less common language acquisition option and nobody in this corridor teaches it, an IB online tutor in Ashford Royale working from another part of Mumbai or another city is better than the nearest available generalist. The second is the DP2 crunch, when a twenty-minute screen share about one paragraph of an Internal Assessment is worth more than a dragged-out ninety-minute visit. The third is monsoon weeks, when the alternative is cancellation.

Online is the wrong choice for a Year 7 or Year 8 student who cannot yet work alone, and we will say so rather than take the booking. A child who needs someone to notice they have stopped is not served by a video call, however good the tutor. We also discourage online for the first month of any new match at any age, because the relationship that makes later online sessions work gets built in person.

Hybrid is what most families here settle into by the second term, and it is worth planning deliberately instead of drifting into it. One in-person session a week for teaching and accountability, plus a short online check-in before a deadline or after a test, covers more ground than two long visits. The in-person slot stays the anchor. Home tuition in this part of Mumbai also tends to be cheaper per unit of actual learning than it looks on paper, because the cancellation rate is lower when the tutor lives fifteen minutes away.

  • Home sessions control attention and surface confusion a screen hides
  • Online is justified by subject scarcity, deadline triage and monsoon weeks
  • Online suits an independent DP student, not a Year 8 who needs supervision
  • Keep the first month in person even if you intend to go online later
  • A weekly home anchor plus a short online check-in beats two long visits

How are IB home tutors in Mumbai checked before you meet them?

Every tutor on the platform is checked on four things before a profile reaches a parent: identity, qualification, specific International Baccalaureate teaching experience at the level requested, and references from families or schools they have actually worked with. Identity and qualification are documentary. Experience is the part that needs a conversation, because teaching a subject and teaching it inside the IB assessment model are different jobs, and a strong subject graduate with no programme experience will misread what an MYP criterion or a DP Internal Assessment is asking for. We ask which years they have taught, which components they have taken a student through end to end, and what they did when a student stalled.

An IB home tutor in Ashford Royale is also checked on something duller and more important: whether they can actually hold the slot you need. A tutor who lives in Kasarvadavali and tells us Wednesday at six is fine has either not driven Ghodbunder Road at that hour or is overpromising, and we would rather lose the match than place it. So the travel question is part of verification here in a way it is not in a more compact part of Mumbai.

There is a second half to this, and it is yours. Checks tell you a tutor is credible; only you can tell whether they are right for your child. In the first conversation, ask them to describe the structure of the component your child is working on, in their own words. Ask what they would do in week one, and be sceptical of anyone whose answer is a syllabus list rather than a diagnosis. Ask how they report progress to you. Be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade, because no honest tutor can offer one, and the ones who do are usually selling hours rather than teaching. Ask what they will not do, and listen for coursework.

After the first session, ask your child one question: did the tutor explain things, or did they do the work? The second is comfortable and useless. If the answer worries you, tell us in week one rather than week six, because a replacement in week one costs you nothing and a replacement in week six costs a term.

  • Identity, qualifications, programme-level IB experience and references all checked
  • Travel reliability is treated as a verification item, not a scheduling detail
  • Ask the tutor to describe the component structure in their own words
  • A tutor promising a specific grade is selling hours, not teaching
  • Ask your child whether the tutor explained the work or simply did it

Hiring across twelve years instead of one term in Ashford Royale

The useful way to think about IB home tuition in Ashford Royale is as a twelve-year relationship with a platform and a series of two to three year relationships with individual tutors. Families who start in the primary years and stay inside the IB continuum make the same hiring decision four or five times, and each one is easier if the earlier ones were recorded properly. What a Year 6 tutor learned about how a child handles being stuck is the most valuable thing in the file by Year 11, and it is exactly what gets lost when a family hires privately through a building WhatsApp group each time.

Each transition has a predictable shape. The move from PYP into MYP is the reporting shock: a parent used to marks meets criterion bands and cannot tell whether a 5 is good. A tutor's first job there is translation, and the second is teaching command terms, because MYP marks are lost to misread instructions more often than to missing knowledge. The move from MYP into DP is the workload shock, and it is mostly about calendars. A DP1 student who has never planned backwards from a deadline will hand in a first Internal Assessment draft that is a week of work pretending to be a term of it.

The third transition is the one nobody plans for: the move from needing a tutor to not needing one. A good tutor is working towards their own redundancy, and by the second year of the Diploma Programme the sessions should be getting shorter and more student-led. If your DP2 child still needs the same ninety minutes of line-by-line support they needed in Year 9, something in the arrangement has gone wrong, and it is usually that the tutor has been solving problems rather than teaching the student to solve them.

This is also where fees become comprehensible. IB tuition fees in Ashford Royale depend on the board and level, the scarcity of the subject, how far the tutor travels, how long each session runs and how many subjects you are covering. A DP Higher Level science specialist costs more per hour than an MYP generalist because there are fewer of them, and a tutor crossing from Thane West prices the journey in. Over twelve years the variable that actually decides what you spend is not the hourly figure but how often you are starting from scratch. We cannot quote a price on a page because it would be fiction, and an IB private tutor Ashford Royale families hire for a scarce HL subject sits at a different level from a weekly PYP reading slot.

  • Four or five hiring decisions across twelve years, not one permanent choice
  • PYP to MYP is a reporting shock; command terms cost more marks than content
  • MYP to DP is a workload shock, solved with backward planning from deadlines
  • By DP2 sessions should be shortening as the student takes over
  • Fees track board, level, subject scarcity, travel distance and session length

What progress looks like at four weeks, one term and one exam cycle in Mumbai

At four weeks you should not be looking at grades. You should be looking for three things: the child can say what they are working on without being prompted, homework arguments have reduced, and the tutor can describe a specific weakness rather than a general impression. If the tutor still says the child is doing well and needs confidence after four sessions, they have not diagnosed anything. That is the point at which we would rather move you than wait, and it is why we check in at four sessions instead of at the end of a term.

At one term the measure shifts to work quality. In MYP you should see marks moving within criteria rather than overall: a child who was scoring in the middle band for Criterion C and now scores at the top of it has made real progress even if the reported level has not shifted. In DP you should see drafts arriving earlier and needing fewer rounds. A first Internal Assessment draft that needs three rewrites is normal; a third one that still needs three is a signal. Test scores often move last, and a family that panics in month two and changes tutor loses the only thing that was working.

Across a full examination cycle the honest picture is a range, not a number. Consistent weekly teaching plus a student who does the work between sessions moves most students meaningfully. Consistent teaching plus a student who does nothing between sessions moves almost nobody, and a tutor cannot fix that on their own. We do not guarantee grades, we do not publish success rates, and we will not tell you a fortnight of intensive sessions in April can substitute for a year. Anyone who tells you otherwise is describing a sales pitch rather than a school year.

The limits are worth naming. A tutor cannot repair a subject choice that was wrong from the start, though they can help a student make a case for changing it while there is still time. A tutor cannot write coursework, and would be putting your child's diploma at risk if they tried. A tutor cannot manufacture motivation in a student who has decided not to engage, and in that situation the useful conversation is with the school, not with us. Home classes in Mumbai are a strong tool for a student who is trying and stuck. They are a poor tool for a student who is not trying, and we will tell you which one we think we are looking at.

  • Four weeks: a specific named weakness, not a general report of confidence
  • One term: marks moving within MYP criteria and drafts needing fewer rounds
  • Test scores usually move last, well after work quality improves
  • A tutor cannot write coursework or manufacture motivation, and should not try
  • No success rates, no guaranteed grades, and no April substitute for a year

Starting IB home tuition in Ashford Royale, Mumbai

Three things make the first enquiry productive, and none of them takes more than ten minutes to gather. The first is your child's most recent report, whatever form it takes: a PYP report with learning outcomes, an MYP criterion sheet, or a DP predicted grade summary. We are not grading it. We are reading which criteria or components are weak, because that is what decides which tutor you need. The second is the subject list with levels, including the HL and SL split if your child is in the Diploma Programme. The third is two or three evening windows that genuinely work, not the ones you wish worked.

Say upfront whether an adult is normally home during those windows, because it changes the match. Some tutors are comfortable teaching a younger child with a grandparent or household staff present; some families prefer sessions pushed to when a parent is back from work; and in a complex like this, a tutor working in a common study area rather than the flat is sometimes the simpler answer. We would rather know this before we shortlist than discover it in week two.

The first session is a diagnostic and should feel like one. A good tutor spends it reading your child's actual written work, asking them to explain something they claim to understand, and finding the gap. Expect to be told something slightly uncomfortable at the end of it: the real weakness is rarely the one the family named. Expect a plan for the first month with one measurable thing in it, and expect it in plain language rather than a list of topics. IB home lessons in Ashford Royale should start with a diagnosis, not a syllabus.

Sort the gate arrangement in the same week. Add the tutor to a standing visitor list or get the society office to issue the pass, so a weekly slot does not depend on whoever is at the entrance that evening. Families who get this done in week one almost never raise it again, and families who leave it typically lose a session in the first month. An IB tutor Mumbai parents have come to rely on is usually the one who has never once been held up at your entrance.

  • Bring the latest report, the subject list with levels, and two real evening windows
  • Tell us whether an adult is normally home during those windows
  • The first session diagnoses; expect one uncomfortable, specific finding
  • Ask for a one-month plan with a measurable target in plain language
  • Sort the standing gate pass in week one, not week five
FAQs

Ashford Royale tutoring — questions parents ask

What does an IB home tutor in Ashford Royale actually do in the first session?+

They diagnose, and they should not teach much. A first session with an IB home tutor in Ashford Royale is spent reading your child's recent written work, asking them to explain a topic they believe they understand, and finding where the explanation breaks. You should get a specific finding at the end of it, not a reassurance. Expect it to differ from what you reported: a parent says Maths is weak and the tutor finds the student cannot read a multi-step question. A plan for the first month with one measurable target should follow within a day or two.

Can a tutor get a gate pass for a standing weekly slot at Ashford Royale?+

Yes, and arranging it in the first week is the single most useful piece of admin you will do. In a gated complex the practical options are adding the tutor to a standing visitor list under your flat number, or having the society office issue a recurring pass. Either removes the risk of a tutor being held at the entrance at 6:40pm on a weekday, which is where lost sessions actually come from. Give the tutor the entrance to use and a number to call if the intercom fails. Families who settle this early rarely mention it again.

What do IB tuition fees in Ashford Royale depend on?+

Five things, and a page quoting a figure would be inventing one. Fees depend on the programme and level, since a Diploma Programme Higher Level science specialist is scarcer than an MYP generalist; on subject scarcity, which is the biggest single factor for less common languages and HL options; on travel distance, because a tutor crossing from Thane West prices that journey in; on session length; and on how many subjects you cover. Ask any tutor for the rate per session and the cancellation policy in the same conversation, because the second is where disputes start.

Will a Thane West tutor reliably reach our building for a 7pm weekday slot?+

Often not, and you should ask directly rather than hope. Thane spreads east from the station across Pokhran Road, Ghodbunder Road and Majiwada, and the Ghodbunder stretch at 7pm turns a twenty-minute run into most of an hour. A tutor who promises it twice a week for forty weeks is usually overestimating. For weekday evenings we prioritise the Bhandup and Mulund West side of the seam. A Thane West tutor works well for weekend mornings, for a scarce subject worth the journey, or for a slot after 8pm when the road has cleared.

My child is in MYP and the criterion reports make no sense. Can a tutor help?+

Yes, and translation is usually the first job rather than the subject content. MYP reports against published criteria per subject group, so a child can know the material and still sit in a middle band because they answered a different question from the one asked. A tutor's early work is teaching command terms and showing, on your child's own marked scripts, where the descriptor was not met. Parents find the same explanation useful. Ask the tutor to walk you through one marked task against its criteria; if they cannot, they have not taught MYP.

Is online better than home tuition for a DP Higher Level subject?+

Only when the subject is scarce locally or the session is deadline triage. For a Diploma Programme Higher Level subject taught by several tutors in the Bhandup and Mulund corridor, in-person home tuition wins because the tutor sees the working rather than the finished answer. Online genuinely wins in two cases: a less common HL option nobody nearby teaches, and short focused check-ins during the January to February crunch when twenty minutes on one Internal Assessment paragraph beats a ninety-minute visit. Most DP families here end up running one in-person anchor session plus short online contact.

Do we need a parent at home during the session?+

Not necessarily, but tell us your preference before we shortlist. For older MYP and DP students, most families are comfortable with sessions running while parents are at work, with another adult in the flat. For younger PYP and early MYP children, many parents prefer a slot when they are back, which narrows the evening window and changes which tutors can take it. Some families run sessions in a common study area in the complex instead. Any of these works; the problem is only discovering the preference in week two after a match is set.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after three weeks?+

You tell us and we replace them, and doing it at three weeks is far better than at three months. Describe what is wrong specifically: the tutor talks over the child, the sessions have no structure, the child is calmer but no clearer. That detail changes who we send next, whereas a general request produces another general match. We do not ask you to justify the decision or sit through a persuasion call. Replacements usually take a few days when the subject is common in this corridor and longer for a scarce HL option.

How early should we start Internal Assessment support in the Diploma Programme?+

Before the research question is fixed, which in practice means during DP1 rather than after the first draft. The most expensive mistake in Internal Assessment work is a question that cannot be answered with the data a student can realistically collect, and no amount of later editing rescues it. A tutor's job at that stage is to interrogate the plan hard, then step back. Tutors do not write or edit coursework, and one who offers to is risking your child's diploma. Check the current subject guide and your school coordinator for each component's structure and internal deadlines.

Do you cover PYP, or only the older years?+

Both, and the PYP tutor is a different person from the DP tutor by design. Primary Years Programme work is about reading stamina, number sense and getting a child used to explaining their thinking out loud, inside a transdisciplinary unit structure rather than subject periods. It needs a tutor comfortable with young children and with inquiry-based teaching, not a subject specialist. Across the full continuum we cover all IB and IGCSE subjects home classes Ashford Royale residents can run around school hours, from the early years through to the final Diploma Programme examinations.

Can the same tutor travel to Mulund West if we move within the corridor?+

Usually yes, and this corridor is unusually forgiving about it. Ashford Royale sits on the Bhandup–Thane seam, so the tutors who serve it already live or teach across Bhandup, Mulund West and Thane West. A move within those three areas rarely breaks a match, though the slot time may shift by fifteen or twenty minutes. A move west to Powai or across to Navi Mumbai usually does mean a new tutor, because a journey that works once will not hold weekly for a year. Tell us as soon as a move is likely.

Which months are the real pressure points in the Mumbai IB year?+

Late August, October to November, and above all January to February. The June and July restart is the calmest window and the best time to begin home tuition in Mumbai, because a tutor can diagnose rather than firefight. Late August brings MYP criterion tasks and the first DP1 assessments together. October and November add internal examinations and early Internal Assessment drafts. January and February compress final IA submissions, the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and mock examinations into a few weeks for DP2, which is also when tutor availability in this corridor is thinnest.

Find your Ashford Royale tutor

Send us the year group, the subject list with Higher Level and Standard Level marked, and two evening windows that genuinely work. We shortlist two or three tutors who have taught that exact programme level and can reach your gate at that hour, and you speak to them before anything is booked. The first session is a diagnostic in your flat, you get a one-month plan with a measurable target, and we check in after four sessions.
