IB Economics Tutor in Mumbai

Most families hiring an IB economics tutor in Mumbai are solving a standing-start problem: the student met Economics for the first time in DP1 and the marks arrived faster than the understanding. Home tuition is the usual answer. This page sets out the routes, the real demands of the subject, and how tuition changes between them.

What we ask before shortlisting an Economics home tutor in Mumbai

Economics requests arrive later in the year than any other subject, and almost always after a specific event: a first DP1 assessment that came back lower than anything the student had seen before. So the opening questions are blunter than usual. Is this the first Economics course the child has ever taken, or did they do Economics or Business Studies at IGCSE? What did the marked script lose marks on, in the teacher's words? Is the problem the diagrams, the definitions, the evaluation, or simply that nothing has been revised since the topic was taught? An IB economics tutor in Mumbai cannot plan anything useful without those four answers, and a tutor who starts teaching before asking is guessing.

Matching then runs on route first and geography second. A tutor who has taught Diploma Programme Economics through a full examination session is a different proposition from a graduate economist who understands the content but has never marked against the criteria, and for a DP2 student in January that difference decides the outcome. Geography is the second filter because Economics tends to be a two-session-a-week subject once the commentary portfolio starts, and two crossings of the city each week is what turns a committed tutor into an unreliable one by the sixth week. Economics home tuition in Mumbai survives on short journeys and dies on long ones. Searches like IB tutors near me Mumbai sort by advertising budget; we sort by whether the person has taught your child's course and can actually reach you.

You receive two or three profiles rather than a directory. Each says which level the tutor has taught, which examination sessions, where they live, and which slots are open. A listing reading Economics IB and IGCSE, Years 1-12 tutor Mumbai tells you nothing useful about whether the person has ever supervised a commentary, so we show the narrow version instead. A first session is booked with whoever you choose. Nothing is committed until that session has happened and you have told us what you made of it, and if your answer is that it was fine but not right, that is a complete answer.

  • 1. Say whether this is the student's first ever Economics course
  • 2. Send the marked script and the teacher comment verbatim
  • 3. We filter for tutors who have taught that level through a session
  • 4. We filter again for your corridor and the slots you need
  • 5. Two or three profiles, then a first session you can walk away from

Has your child ever studied Economics before DP1?

This is the question that sorts Economics from every other subject on a Mumbai timetable. Many international schools here do not offer Economics at IGCSE at all, offering Business Studies instead, or offering neither and leaving the social sciences to Geography and History. The result is that a large share of Diploma Programme Economics students meet the subject for the first time at sixteen, in a course that assumes none of the vocabulary is new to them by the second month. Where IGCSE Economics is offered, it runs as a standalone subject with core and extended tiers, and students arriving from it have a genuine head start on definitions and diagrams rather than on evaluation.

In the Middle Years Programme, there is no Economics subject. Economic content appears inside Individuals and Societies, assessed against the MYP criteria, often woven through units on development, trade or resources. A parent whose child enjoyed that and assumes it is preparation for Diploma Programme Economics is in for a surprise, because the MYP course rewards inquiry and reflection while the DP course rewards defined terms, correct diagrams and bounded evaluation. At Diploma Programme level, Economics is taken at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL), and for what each level adds in depth and workload, see the DP Economics HL and DP Economics SL tutor pages rather than this one.

Working out where your child sits takes two checks. First, the timetable and the subject block: Economics in the Diploma Programme sits in the individuals and societies group, and the school will confirm whether it is registered at HL or SL. Second, the prior-learning question, which only you can answer: ask your child to define opportunity cost and draw a demand curve. A student who can do both fluently came in with a foundation. A student who hesitates on either is at a standing start, and that single observation changes the first month of IB home tuition in Mumbai more than any diagnostic test a tutor could set.

  • Many Mumbai schools offer no Economics at IGCSE, only Business Studies
  • MYP Individuals and Societies is not preparation for DP Economics
  • IGCSE Economics runs with core and extended tiers
  • DP Economics is registered at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL)
  • Ask your child to define opportunity cost and draw a demand curve

Papers 1 and 2, the HL paper and the commentary portfolio

Written assessment in Diploma Programme Economics is spread across Paper 1, which is extended response, and Paper 2, which is data response built on unseen extracts. Higher Level candidates sit a further paper that is quantitative and policy-focused, and it is the component that most often catches students who chose HL for the university application rather than for the subject. We publish no weightings, durations or mark totals on this page, because the IB revises its subject guides on its own cycle and a figure taken from an old document can be wrong for the session your child actually sits. The current subject guide and your school's Diploma Programme coordinator are the only sources worth using for structure.

Paper 1 answers have a shape, and students who have not been taught the shape write essays that read well and score in the middle. The shape is a defined term, a correctly labelled diagram with axes and curves named, an explanation that moves in steps rather than asserting an outcome, and evaluation that names the condition under which the conclusion would change. Economics home classes Mumbai families book in DP1 should spend the first month on exactly that, because it is a transferable habit rather than a topic. Paper 2 is a different skill: finding the three or four usable facts inside an unfamiliar extract, and resisting the urge to answer with everything known about the topic instead of with the extract in front of you.

The commentary portfolio is the internal assessment, and it is where the subject becomes genuinely interesting and genuinely risky. Students select published news articles and write short analytical commentaries applying syllabus content to them. The number required, the word limit and the weighting are set by the current subject guide, so take them from there. A tutor's honest role is to help judge whether an article actually contains the economics the student thinks it does, to press on whether the diagram chosen is the right one, and to read a draft for reasoning. Choosing articles for the student, or drafting commentary text, is academic misconduct and jeopardises the whole diploma. For commentary-specific help in depth, the Economics internal assessment page covers it.

  • Paper 1 wants definition, labelled diagram, stepped explanation, bounded evaluation
  • Paper 2 is data response on an unseen extract, not a topic essay
  • HL candidates sit a further quantitative and policy-focused paper
  • Label both axes and every curve, every single time
  • Commentary articles must be chosen by the student, never the tutor

Economics home tuition across Mumbai, corridor by corridor

An IB economics tutor in Mumbai is matched inside a corridor, not across the city, and the corridors behave differently. On the island, families in Fort, Churchgate, Breach Candy, Napean Sea Road, Lower Parel and Mahalaxmi are served by tutors who already live south of Dadar, because an eight-kilometre run from Worli to Colaba can still take forty minutes once the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals are involved. The Western Line into Churchgate and Grant Road, the Harbour Line from CSMT through Dockyard, Metro Line 3 from Cuffe Parade towards BKC and the Coastal Road all help a tutor arrive, and the Bandra to Worli Sea Link makes a Bandra-based tutor viable for Worli in a way it never makes them viable for Colaba.

In the Western Suburbs the geography is linear, which is good news. Vile Parle, Jogeshwari, Oshiwara, Goregaon, Borivali and Dahisar East sit on the Western Line and the Western Express Highway, with Metro Lines 2A and 7 running Dahisar to Gundavali and Metro Line 1 cutting across from Versova through Andheri to Ghatkopar. A Goregaon tutor covering Borivali is an easy match; the same tutor covering Chembur is not. In the Central Suburbs, Powai and Chandivali have no station of their own and hang off JVLR, so a tutor arrives by road from Andheri East, Kanjurmarg or Ghatkopar, and the SCLR has made Kurla to Chembur crossings realistic where they previously were not.

In the Eastern Suburbs, Chembur, Govandi, Mankhurd, Wadala and Bhandup are served by the Central and Harbour lines plus the Eastern Express Highway, and the Eastern Freeway means a Wadala tutor can reach South Mumbai faster than a Bandra tutor can. Navi Mumbai works node to node: Airoli, Ghansoli, Vashi, Seawoods, Kharghar and Panvel along Palm Beach Road and the Sion to Panvel highway, with the Trans-Harbour Line and the Atal Setu shortening the crossings without making a daily one sensible. In Thane, Thane West, Majiwada, Pokhran Road, Hiranandani Estate and Kasarvadavali are all on the Ghodbunder Road axis, and that road sets the timetable: twenty minutes off-peak from the station becomes close to an hour at 7pm. A home tutor for Economics Mumbai parents retain for a full year is almost always one who travels under thirty minutes.

  • South Mumbai: Fort, Churchgate, Breach Candy, Napean Sea Road, Lower Parel, Mahalaxmi
  • Western Suburbs: Vile Parle, Jogeshwari, Oshiwara, Goregaon, Borivali, Dahisar East
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Kurla, Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Govandi, Mankhurd, Wadala, Bhandup
  • Navi Mumbai: Airoli, Ghansoli, Vashi, Seawoods, Kharghar, Panvel
  • Thane: Thane West, Majiwada, Pokhran Road, Hiranandani Estate, Kasarvadavali

When do Economics deadlines actually bite in the Mumbai year?

Mumbai, Maharashtra has a tight cluster of schools running these courses, and their calendars are close enough that tutor availability moves across the city in unison. Dhirubhai Ambani International School, the American School of Bombay and Ascend International School sit in BKC. Ecole Mondiale World School, Jamnabai Narsee International School and Utpal Shanghvi Global School are in Juhu. Cathedral and John Connon School is at Fort, Bombay International School at Babulnath, Aditya Birla World Academy at Tardeo and B.D. Somani International School at Cuffe Parade. Further out there is Oberoi International School on JVLR, Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai, NES International School in Mulund West, Thakur International School in Kandivali East, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul. IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform and is not affiliated with any of them; the names are here as local context and imply no endorsement in either direction.

The Economics-specific pressure point is the commentary portfolio, and it is unlike any other subject's deadline because it depends on the news. Schools set internal deadlines for each commentary across DP1 and into DP2, and a student who has not been reading anything will sit down the week before a deadline with no article worth writing about. That is the collision worth planning for: the first commentary deadline in most Mumbai schools lands in the second half of DP1, in the same stretch as Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE) milestones. A student juggling all three with no article shortlist is the single most common emergency we are called about.

The wider calendar behaves as it does for every subject here, with two local wrinkles. The run from Ganesh Chaturthi through Navratri to Diwali removes evening capacity across every corridor, and tutors who have held a slot through it for years will not give it up in October. Monsoon is the second: a tutor on Ghodbunder Road, the Eastern Express Highway or the Western Express Highway will lose sessions in July and August, which is an argument for agreeing an online fallback in June rather than negotiating one in the rain. Confirm every actual component date with the school examinations officer, since schools set their internal deadlines independently of each other.

  • Commentary deadlines depend on news reading done weeks earlier
  • First commentary usually lands alongside TOK and Extended Essay milestones
  • October evenings disappear citywide between Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali
  • Agree a monsoon online fallback in June, not in July
  • Internal deadlines are set per school: ask the examinations officer

Should Economics be taught at your dining table or on screen?

Home tuition is the lead service and for Economics there is a concrete reason beyond convenience. Diagrams are drawn, not watched. A student has to produce a labelled diagram under time pressure with a pen, and the fastest way to get there is a tutor sitting beside them saying draw it again while they draw it again. A tutor looking over a shoulder catches the habit of labelling the axes after drawing the curves, which is the habit that produces unlabelled diagrams in an examination hall. An IB economics tutor in Mumbai working at your table also sees the exercise book, the teacher's margin comments and the unfinished homework, none of which get volunteered on a video call.

Online earns its place on two grounds. The first is scarcity: DP Economics specialists are thinner on the ground than Maths or Physics tutors, and a family in Panvel or Dahisar may find that the person who has actually taught the quantitative HL paper is sitting in Pune or Bengaluru. An IB online tutor in Mumbai can also hold a 9.15pm slot, which matters for a DP2 student whose evening does not clear until dinner is finished. The second is reliability through monsoon. The trade-off is honest and worth stating: diagram correction on a screen is slower, and shared whiteboards help without fully closing the gap. Younger students drift more online than older ones.

Hybrid is where most Economics families end up, and the split that works has a logic to it. The home tuition session carries the teaching and the diagram drilling. A shorter online session carries marking, commentary discussion and the weekly check that the article shortlist is growing. Commentary work in particular suits a screen, because both people need to be looking at the same article. Asking for the best IB tutor in Mumbai is less useful than deciding which of these three shapes your household can sustain for a year, and an IB private tutor Mumbai parents hire on a neighbour's recommendation may be superb at the home session and simply not set up for the online half.

  • Home classes drill diagram production under pen-and-paper conditions
  • Online opens access to scarce HL Economics specialists
  • Commentary discussion works well on a shared screen
  • Agree an online fallback before the monsoon, not during it
  • Younger students need the home session to be the main one

What we check, and what you should check yourself

Four things are confirmed before a tutor appears on a shortlist: government photo identity, the degree or teaching qualification claimed, the specific courses and levels taught with the sessions they were taught in, and references from prior tutoring or school employment. For Economics we press harder than usual on the last one, because a strong academic background in the subject is not the same as having marked against the criteria. An economics graduate can explain elasticity beautifully and still have no idea why a student's evaluation paragraph scores badly. We ask which examination sessions they prepared students for and what changed in their teaching after the most recent syllabus revision.

Your own checks are short and they matter more. In the first session, ask the tutor to mark one of your child's existing answers in front of you and explain the marks. Listen for whether they talk about the criteria or about whether the answer was right. Ask what they would do in week one and distrust anyone who answers before looking at the marked script. Ask how they handle the commentary portfolio, and be wary of a tutor who offers a guaranteed grade or suggests they can pick the articles. Ask directly whether they will tell you when your child is not doing the work. The answers to those four questions predict the next twelve months fairly well.

There are also logistics worth settling before the second session rather than the sixth. Will the same slot hold for a full term, or does it move when the tutor's own term starts? Will you get a short written note after each session saying what was covered and what the homework is? Is there a stated position on cancellations on both sides? Where a student is approaching the quantitative HL paper, has this tutor taught that component specifically rather than Economics generally? An IB home tutor in Mumbai who answers all of that plainly on day one is usually the one still turning up in March.

  • Identity, qualification, taught sessions and references verified before listing
  • Economics tutors asked specifically about marking against criteria
  • Watch them mark one of your child's answers aloud
  • Confirm who may and may not choose commentary articles
  • Settle slot stability and cancellation terms in week one

Why a confident opinion scores less than a labelled diagram

Economics punishes a particular kind of clever student, and Mumbai produces a lot of them. A child who grew up around a family business, who reads about markets, who can argue about fuel prices or interest rates at the dinner table, arrives in DP1 Economics assuming the subject is about having views. The course is not about having views. It is about defining a term the way the syllabus defines it, producing the diagram that models the situation, moving through the mechanism one step at a time, and then evaluating within stated limits. A fluent, confident paragraph with no definition and no diagram scores in the middle every time, and the student cannot understand why.

The second trap is the real-world example used as decoration. Current Economics rewards applied examples, and students learn that, so they attach an anecdote to every answer. An example only earns marks when it is doing analytical work: showing the mechanism operating, or showing why a predicted outcome did not follow. Naming a company or a policy and moving on adds words and nothing else. A tutor fixes this by banning the example until the mechanism is written, then adding it back and asking what it proves. It feels like a restriction for two weeks and then it changes the mark.

The third is the evaluation ladder. Describe, explain, analyse, discuss and evaluate are not synonyms for writing more, and students who treat them as a volume instruction write longer answers at the same level. Evaluation specifically means the conclusion is held conditionally: it depends on the time frame, on how responsive demand turns out to be, on who bears the cost, on what assumption has quietly been made. Teaching a student to end with the condition rather than with a flourish is most of the gap between a middling and a strong script. The fourth is simply arithmetic: students who chose HL without enjoying numbers find the quantitative paper unpleasant, and the fix is weekly short practice, not a crash course in March.

  • Define the term the way the syllabus defines it, not conversationally
  • No diagram means no analysis, however well the prose reads
  • An example must show a mechanism, not decorate a paragraph
  • Evaluation means stating the condition, not writing more words
  • Quantitative practice weekly from DP1, not a crash course later

Realistic progress in Economics at four weeks and one term

At four weeks the thing to look at is not a mark. It is whether a diagram now arrives labelled without being asked, whether the student can say what a command term requires before writing, and whether the tutor's diagnosis matches what the marked scripts show. Those three are visible in the exercise book. A student at a standing start in Economics will usually show vocabulary gains first, which feels like progress and is only the floor. Four weeks of home tutoring is enough to confirm the diagnosis and nowhere near enough to move a grade. There are no guarantees on a grade here, and a tutor who offers one is telling you something useful about themselves rather than about your child.

At one term, written answers should have changed shape even where the reported grade has not. A Paper 1 answer should open with a definition and reach a diagram early. A Paper 2 answer should quote from the extract instead of paraphrasing the topic. The commentary pipeline should exist, meaning the student has a folder of candidate articles rather than a panic the week before a deadline. Teacher comments usually move before marks do, and a comment shifting from needs analysis to evaluation is underdeveloped is a genuine step forward. If none of that has happened across a full term of weekly sessions, the match is wrong and we would rather you say so.

Across one examination cycle the fair measure is the trajectory from mock to final against the school's own prediction. Some students move several grades, usually the ones who were at a standing start and have now closed a vocabulary gap. Others hold a grade that was sliding, which looks like nothing and is not nothing. What we commit to is process rather than outcome: a consistent tutor, a stable slot, honest written notes, and a replacement arranged without friction the moment you ask. IB tuition fees in Mumbai pay for teaching hours and a tutor's preparation, not for a result, and that is worth being clear about before the first session rather than after the last one.

  • Four weeks: labelled diagrams unprompted and correct command-term reading
  • One term: definitions first, extract quoted, article folder growing
  • Standing-start students gain vocabulary before they gain marks
  • Holding a sliding grade through a cycle is a real result
  • Ask for a replacement the week you doubt the match

Booking an IB Economics tutor in Mumbai this week

Three things make the first week productive. Send the level as the school registers it, HL or SL, confirmed with the Diploma Programme coordinator rather than remembered. Send the last marked Economics script with the teacher's comment left in. And say whether this is the student's first Economics course, because that single fact decides whether the first month is vocabulary and diagrams or technique and evaluation. If the commentary portfolio is already running, say how many are done and when the next internal deadline falls.

The first session is a diagnosis and should look like one. Expect the tutor to mark an existing answer with your child, ask what they were thinking at a specific sentence, test whether a demand or supply diagram can be produced from memory, and set one short piece of work that proves or disproves their theory of the problem. You should get a note afterwards naming the problem in plain words. A note that says we will revise the topics is not a diagnosis, and if that is what arrives, tell us and we will either press the tutor or restart the match.

After that you decide. Most Economics families run one home tuition session a week through DP1 and add a second once commentaries start, then move to two in the run-up to mocks. Some keep a single weekly slot for two years and do perfectly well. Changing tutor costs you nothing and needs no justification beyond saying it is not working. What we will not do is quote a fee before knowing the level, the travel and the session length, because a price list that fits a Juhu SL student and a Panvel HL student equally well would be fiction.

  • Confirm HL or SL with the coordinator before writing in
  • Send the marked script with the teacher comment intact
  • Say whether this is the first Economics course ever taken
  • Report how many commentaries are done and the next deadline
  • Changing tutor needs no reason beyond that it is not working
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

What do IB Economics home tuition fees in Mumbai depend on?+

Five factors, and no honest quote comes before they are known. Level is the biggest, because the pool of tutors who have taught the Higher Level quantitative paper through a real session is small, and scarcity sets the rate. Subject scarcity compounds it, since Economics specialists are thinner on the ground here than Maths or Physics tutors. Travel distance matters because a tutor crossing from Andheri to Chembur twice a week gives up a third session to do it. Session length and weekly frequency matter. So does the mode, with hybrid usually landing between home and online. Tell us your actual situation and you get a figure for it.

My child has never studied Economics. Is DP1 too late to get a tutor?+

DP1 is the right time, and it is the most common starting point we see. Many Mumbai schools do not offer Economics at IGCSE, so a large share of Diploma Programme students begin at sixteen with no vocabulary at all, and the course assumes fluency by the second month. A tutor starting in the monsoon term of DP1 can close that gap before it compounds into the commentary portfolio and then into mocks. Starting after the DP2 mocks is still worth doing, but it becomes exam technique and triage rather than teaching the subject properly, and the ceiling is lower.

Can a tutor reach Lower Parel or Worli for an evening slot?+

Yes, from the right side of the city. A tutor living in Dadar, Parel, Mahalaxmi or Prabhadevi reaches Lower Parel and Worli easily for a 7pm start. A Bandra-based tutor can also do Worli via the Bandra to Worli Sea Link, though the return at 9pm is less pleasant than the outbound. What does not work reliably is a suburban tutor committing to a weekday evening slot in Breach Candy or Napean Sea Road, because the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals are unforgiving after six. If no island-based Economics specialist at your level is free, we will say so rather than arrange a commute that fails in week six.

Does my child really need to read the news every day for Economics?+

Not daily, but weekly and deliberately. The commentary portfolio requires published articles that genuinely contain analysable economics, and students who read nothing spend the week before a deadline hunting for one and settling for a weak choice. The workable habit is fifteen minutes once a week saving two or three candidate articles into a folder with a one-line note on which syllabus concept each one touches. Reading the news for general awareness does not help much; reading it looking for a diagram does. A tutor can model this in one session and then just check the folder is growing.

How does asking for an HL Economics tutor differ from asking for SL?+

The important difference for a parent is the quantitative and policy-focused paper that Higher Level candidates sit, which narrows the pool of tutors who can genuinely help. Ask a prospective tutor directly whether they have prepared students for that specific component, rather than for Economics in general, because a tutor comfortable with the shared content can still be out of their depth there. Workload and depth differences between the levels are covered properly on our DP Economics HL and DP Economics SL tutor pages. Confirm which level your child is registered at with the school rather than assuming from the timetable.

Where does a tutor park in an older South Mumbai building?+

Often nowhere, which is worth knowing before the first session. Buildings in Breach Candy, Napean Sea Road, Walkeshwar and Fort frequently have no visitor parking at all, and street parking near them is enforced. Most tutors working the island come by train, Metro Line 3 where it serves them, or an auto and taxi combination, and they price the slot accordingly. Tell us at the matching stage if parking is genuinely unavailable so we shortlist tutors who do not drive. In Navi Mumbai and Thane the opposite is true and a driving tutor is usually the more reliable choice.

Can one tutor teach both Economics and Business Management?+

Some can, and it is a more reasonable pairing than two sciences. The content overlaps at the edges and the written technique is related, so a tutor who has taught both through real sessions is not unusual. The risk is a tutor who has taught one and reads the other, which shows up the first time a student needs the Economics quantitative work or the Business Management tools used precisely. Ask which examination sessions they taught each subject in. If the answer is vague on one, take the specialist for the subject that matters more this year and run the other separately.

What may a tutor do on the commentary portfolio, and what must they not?+

A tutor may discuss whether an article actually contains analysable economics, question whether the diagram chosen models the situation, push on whether the concept is applied rather than described, and read a draft commenting on reasoning and structure. A tutor must not select the articles, write or rewrite any part of the commentary, or supply the analysis for the student to transcribe. That line is academic misconduct and the consequence lands on the student, not the tutor. Tell your child's teacher that a tutor is involved; schools are used to it and would rather know early than find out at submission.

Does diagram work actually survive on a video call?+

Partly, and the gap is worth planning around. A tutor can demonstrate a diagram cleanly on a shared whiteboard, and a student can hold up a drawn diagram to the camera. What is lost is the tutor watching the order in which the student draws, which is where the bad habits live, particularly labelling axes last or never. Families running online as the main mode usually ask the student to photograph and send two diagrams midweek so they are reviewed before the next session. For a DP1 student at a standing start, a home session for the first term is the better choice.

The tutor is good but my child is not doing the homework. What now?+

Raise it with the tutor first and ask for the homework to shrink. A common failure is a tutor setting an hour of work to a student with four other subjects and a commute, and then both sides quietly pretending it was done. Ten focused minutes that get completed beat an hour that does not. Ask for the work to be written down at the end of the session and for a one-line note to you saying what it was. If it still is not happening after three weeks, the problem is usually the slot or the subject's position in the student's priorities rather than the tutor.

How many sessions a week does Economics usually need?+

One is the normal starting point, and two is normal in specific stretches. A DP1 student at a standing start does well on one weekly session for the first term, because the bottleneck is practice between sessions rather than teaching time. Two becomes sensible once the commentary portfolio is running alongside new content, and again in the weeks before mocks. For a DP2 student in January, two shorter sessions usually beat one long one, since the work is repeated short-answer practice rather than new material. We would rather start at one and add than start at two and renegotiate.

Do we need a Thane or Navi Mumbai tutor, or will one travel out?+

For a weekly slot that must hold for a year, take the local tutor. Thane matching works along the Ghodbunder Road axis, so a tutor near the station covers Majiwada and Pokhran Road comfortably and Kasarvadavali less comfortably after six. Navi Mumbai works node to node along Palm Beach Road, with Airoli, Vashi, Seawoods and Kharghar all reachable from each other. Tutors will travel out from the suburbs for a while, and the Atal Setu and Trans-Harbour Line have helped, but the arrangement usually fails in the second month. Where no local Economics specialist is free, online is the honest answer.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Write in with the registered level, the last marked Economics script with its teacher comment, and whether this is your child's first Economics course. You will get two or three tutor profiles that name the sessions each person has actually taught. Pick one, sit in on a diagnostic first session, and tell us afterwards whether to continue. If the answer is no, the next match costs you nothing but an email.
