Booking IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai: the first fortnight

The request we can act on fastest contains four things: your area, your child's DP year, the prescribed title she has been given or is choosing between, and the two evening windows that actually exist in her week. Area comes first for a reason. IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai is a weekly appointment at your dining table, and a weekly appointment only survives two years if the tutor is already living on your side of the city. We would rather send you a very good tutor from Chembur than an outstanding one from Malad if you live in Vikhroli, because the Malad tutor will cancel in August and you will be starting again in September.

Once the corridor is set, the filter is the title. We send the title to shortlisted tutors before they speak to you, and we ask them what they think it is asking. The answers separate people quickly. A tutor who replies with a plan of what your daughter should argue is the wrong tutor, because the plan is not theirs to write. A tutor who replies with four questions about which words in the title are doing the work has understood the job.

You then take one paid home session. The tutor arrives, reads the title aloud with your child, and spends most of the hour on what it asks rather than on what she wants to say about it. Afterwards you get a short written note: the two things in her reading of the title that were sound, and the one thing that will sink the essay if it stays. If you want someone else after that session, say so and we shortlist again within a few working days, with nothing to negotiate.

The sequence below is the whole administrative side. Everything else is her work, done over months, in a chair in your house.

  • 1. Send your area, DP year, the prescribed title and two evening windows
  • 2. We shortlist tutors inside your corridor and send them the title
  • 3. One paid home session spent on what the title actually asks
  • 4. Written note that evening naming the one fatal misreading
  • 5. You confirm a standing weekly slot or ask for a different tutor
  • 6. Society gate clearance arranged once, for a recurring entry

Where the TOK essay sits in the IB Diploma Programme timetable

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is part of the core of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), taken by every candidate alongside six subjects and the Extended Essay (EE). Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) students sit the same TOK course, so there is no easier version to retreat into. It is assessed on work produced rather than on an examination in a hall, and the essay is written on a prescribed title released by the IB for the session your child is entered for. Those titles are not a bank she chooses from at leisure; they arrive, she picks one, and that one becomes the whole task.

The part Mumbai parents most often misjudge is when the essay becomes urgent. In most schools here the titles reach students late in DP1 or early in DP2, the school sets an internal deadline well ahead of the IB's, and the gap between those two dates is where the essay is either written properly or rescued badly. A Theory of Knowledge (TOK) IB Diploma Programme (DP), Years 1-2 tutor Mumbai families engage in DP1 is working on the habits that make that window easy. One engaged in the final fortnight is doing damage limitation on a draft that already exists.

This is why we ask for the DP year before anything else. For a DP1 student the honest recommendation is fortnightly home sessions spent entirely on reasoning, with no essay in sight: she builds examples, she learns to notice what a claim rests on, she practises being wrong in front of someone. For a DP2 student with a title in hand, weekly is right through the drafting stretch and then stops. We have no interest in selling a two-year weekly booking for a core requirement, and a tutor who recommends one from the first week is filling their own calendar.

We will not print what the essay contributes to the Diploma or how it is scored, because the IB revises assessment arrangements on its own cycle and the version that applies to your child's cohort sits with your school's DP coordinator. Ask them, not a tutoring website, and ask for the internal deadline in the same conversation.

  • Every DP candidate takes TOK; there is no HL or SL variant
  • The essay is written on a prescribed title released for that session
  • Schools set an internal deadline ahead of the IB's own
  • DP1 work is habits and examples; DP2 work is the draft
  • Fortnightly in DP1, weekly through the DP2 drafting stretch
  • Your DP coordinator holds the current assessment arrangements

Reading the prescribed title: the one hour that decides the essay

The commonest way a TOK essay fails is not weak writing or thin examples. It is answering a question that sits next to the title instead of the title itself. A student reads a title about the role of consensus in establishing knowledge, sees the word consensus, and writes a perfectly competent essay about whether groups are wiser than individuals. Everything in it is true and almost none of it is the task. A home tutor who is worth the fee spends the first session refusing to let that happen, and keeps refusing for the next two months.

The method is unglamorous. Take the title apart word by word. Which words name an area of knowledge and which quietly exclude one. Is it asking whether something is the case, or how far it is the case, or what follows if it is. Does it contain a comparison, and if so between what and what. Where does it put the burden: on the knower, on the method, on the community that certifies the claim. Your child writes her answer to each of those in a sentence, and the tutor pushes on every sentence until she can say what the title asks without saying anything the title does not.

The rule that sits over all of this: the prescribed title is used exactly as the IB sets it. It is never reworded, never trimmed to something more manageable, never replaced with a related question the student finds more interesting. A tutor who lets a student quietly adjust the title has broken the essay in session one, and the adjustment is almost always invisible to the student because her version sounds so much more answerable. Part of a tutor's job is to keep the original wording in front of her, on paper, through every draft.

The exhibition sits alongside the essay as the course's other piece of work, built from three objects and a prompt from the published list, and a home tutor will help your child think about what each object does rather than what it is. On this page the weight is on the essay, because that is what the search that brought you here is about. For the current components, wording and requirements, use the subject guide your school issues.

  • Take the title apart word by word before planning anything
  • Identify which areas of knowledge the title includes and excludes
  • Ask whether it asks if, how far, or what follows
  • The title is used exactly as set and is never reworded
  • Keep the original wording on paper beside every draft
  • Most failures answer a question adjacent to the title

Home tuition across Mumbai: six zones and what each does to a weekly slot

A home tutor in this city is buying a slot with traffic, not with a clock. In South Mumbai we place tutors with families in Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Fort, Walkeshwar, Babulnath, Tardeo, Peddar Road, Worli and Parel, and we almost always match within the island. The distances are tiny and the evenings are not: Worli to Colaba is a short hop on paper and forty minutes once the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals are involved. The Coastal Road has changed the southbound run, and Metro Line 3 has changed the Cuffe Parade to Bandra Kurla Complex trip, but neither helps a 6.30pm crossing much.

In the Western Suburbs we cover Bandra, Khar West, Santacruz West, Juhu, Andheri West, Oshiwara, Goregaon East, Malad, Kandivali East, Borivali and Dahisar East. Matching along the Western Line and Metro Lines 2A and 7 works; matching across the Western Express Highway at six in the evening does not, and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link only solves the southbound half of that problem. The Central Suburbs bring Powai, Chandivali, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Kanjurmarg, Andheri East and Mulund West, and Powai deserves its own warning: no station of its own, reached by road off JVLR or the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, and the single hardest 7pm slot in Mumbai to keep.

The Eastern Suburbs run from Chembur and Govandi through Vikhroli and Bhandup to Mulund and Wadala, on the Central and Harbour lines and the Eastern Express Highway, with the Eastern Freeway making the island much closer than families expect. In Navi Mumbai the nodes do the work: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Airoli and Panvel sit minutes apart on Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, and the Atal Setu has made the island city reachable, though we still match node to node for a weekday evening. In Thane, Ghodbunder Road is the schedule: Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Thane West and Kasarvadavali, twenty minutes apart off-peak and an hour at eight.

The practical rule we give every family: pick a slot your tutor can reach without crossing a highway in peak, even if it is a less convenient hour, because a Sunday morning session that happens beats a Wednesday 7pm session that happens two weeks in three. Families booking Theory of Knowledge (TOK) home classes Mumbai schools expect in the DP2 drafting window should lock that slot in before the mocks, not after. Every zone listed here has tutors available for IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai, and the only real constraint is the hour you choose.

  • South Mumbai: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Tardeo, Worli, Parel
  • Western Suburbs: Bandra, Khar West, Santacruz West, Juhu, Malad, Borivali
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Kanjurmarg, Mulund West
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Govandi, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Wadala, Mulund
  • Navi Mumbai: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Airoli, Panvel

Mumbai school deadlines that squeeze the TOK essay

Families using this service attend Dhirubhai Ambani International School, the American School of Bombay and Ascend International School in Bandra Kurla Complex, Ecole Mondiale World School, Jamnabai Narsee International School and Utpal Shanghvi Global School in Juhu, Oberoi International School off JVLR, Aditya Birla World Academy in Tardeo, B.D. Somani International School in Cuffe Parade, Cathedral and John Connon School in Fort, Bombay International School at Babulnath, Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai, NES International School in Mulund West, JBCN International School at Parel, Borivali, Oshiwara and Chembur, Singapore International School in Dahisar East, Thakur International School in Kandivali East, Ryan Global School in Worli and Kandivali, and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul. We name them as local context. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any of these schools or with the International Baccalaureate organisation.

The essay calendar has a shape that repeats across almost all of these campuses. Titles land, a planning deadline follows within a few weeks, an interim draft is collected, the school's internal final deadline sits well before the IB's, and the upload happens after that. Each of those checkpoints is a chance to catch a misread title, and each one is routinely missed because the subject that week lost its slot to an Internal Assessment (IA).

Two collisions hurt most. The first is the fortnight after the Diwali break, when DP2 students return to an interim TOK draft deadline sitting on top of science and Economics IA drafts. The second is the mock examination window, when TOK stops dead. A student in Kandivali East who had a usable essay plan in October can come out of mocks in January having forgotten why she chose her second example, which is a genuine cost of pausing rather than a failure of effort. A tutor who knows your school's dates plans around both: heavier sessions before Diwali, nothing during mocks, and a restart session that rebuilds the plan rather than pretending the gap did not happen.

So send the school's internal dates with your first message. Parents who do that get a tutor who works backwards from the interim draft, which is the checkpoint that actually predicts how the final version reads.

  • Title release, planning deadline, interim draft, internal final, upload
  • Internal school deadlines sit well ahead of the IB's own
  • Post-Diwali fortnight collides with science and Economics IA drafts
  • Mock weeks stop TOK entirely and cost momentum on the plan
  • A restart session after mocks should rebuild the plan deliberately

Is home tuition better than online for TOK essay work in Mumbai?

Most of what makes IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai worth the premium comes down to one thing that is hard to replicate remotely: paper. Title on one sheet, plan on another, both visible at once, with the student physically moving her examples around between knowledge questions. An IB home tutor in Mumbai also gets a student who cannot drift into another tab, and a parent who can see that the hour happened and heard some of it. For a DP2 student who has been avoiding the essay for a month, the fact that someone is coming on Tuesday is itself the mechanism. IB home tuition in Mumbai is IB Gram's lead service for exactly that reason.

What home tuition costs you is reliability and money. The travel is priced into the hour whether or not the traffic cooperates, and a weekly evening slot that depends on Ghodbunder Road, the JVLR approach to Powai or the Western Express Highway northbound will be cut short or lost several times a term. Those losses cluster in the worst weeks, because the worst weeks are also the heaviest traffic weeks. A home tutor for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Mumbai parents book for a 7.30pm Thursday in Kasarvadavali should be asked directly how they plan to make that work in July.

An IB online tutor in Mumbai solves the reliability problem and loses the paper. For pure argument practice that trade is fine, and for marking it can be better, since comments can sit beside the student's own sentences in a shared document rather than at the end of a printout. What online loses is the student who will not engage with a screen, and there are plenty of those in DP2.

Most families we work with land on a hybrid: home sessions through the planning and drafting weeks when paper matters, online in between for argument practice and quick draft reviews, and home again for the final read before the internal deadline. If you want a single rule, use home sessions for anything involving the plan and the title on paper, and online for anything involving a document that already exists.

  • Home sessions win when the plan and title need to be on paper
  • A tutor arriving on Tuesday is itself the anti-procrastination mechanism
  • Travel is priced into the hour whether traffic cooperates or not
  • Peak-hour slots off Ghodbunder Road and JVLR cancel most often
  • Online marking puts comments beside the student's own sentences
  • Hybrid: home for planning weeks, online for draft reviews between

How do you check a TOK tutor before they come to your home in Mumbai?

We check identity and qualifications against documents, confirm the IB teaching or examining experience a tutor claims, and interview them on the subject rather than on their teaching philosophy. The TOK interview is specific: we give the tutor a prescribed title and ask what it asks, then we push back on their reading of it. We also ask what they would do if a parent asked them to tidy up a weak paragraph before submission, and the only acceptable answer is a refusal. Tutors visiting homes confirm their identity document details, and you are entitled to see that identity at the door on the first visit.

Your own checks matter more than ours, because you are the one in the room. Ask the tutor to explain your child's title back to you in plain English. Ask what they will do when a draft is well written but answers a nearby question. Ask how they handle an example that sounds impressive and does no analytical work. Be wary of any tutor who offers a guaranteed grade or implies that TOK has a formula; a tutor who promises a specific grade in a subject assessed on argument has told you they do not understand it. We do not guarantee grades.

The boundary on this work is absolute and worth saying to your child as well as to the tutor. The essay must be the student's own. A tutor may teach skills, sharpen a knowledge question, explain what a published criterion is asking for, and comment on a draft the student has already written. A tutor may never write, redraft, research for, or supply any part of it, and any use of artificial intelligence tools is declared under your school's rules. The failure mode in home tuition is softer than outright cheating and more common: a tutor dictating the next sentence while the student types. If that happens, the essay has stopped being hers.

One more practical check for home sessions. Ask the tutor to leave the marked draft with your child rather than taking it away, and to write comments in a different colour against her sentences. You will be able to see at a glance whether the hour produced questions for her to answer or answers for her to copy, and that single look tells you more about IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai than any profile summary does.

  • Identity and qualifications verified against documents before matching
  • Subject interview runs on a real prescribed title, pushed back on
  • Ask to see identity at the door on the first home visit
  • Be wary of any tutor who offers a guaranteed grade in TOK
  • Watch for a tutor dictating sentences while your child types
  • Marked drafts stay with the student, comments beside her sentences

What happens between the prescribed title and the final draft?

Planning comes first, and it is planned around knowledge questions rather than topics. A topic plan reads like a list of subjects: science, history, art. A knowledge question plan reads like a list of things that could be true or false about how knowledge works in those areas, and only the second kind can be argued. So the tutor makes your child convert every heading in her plan into a question with a yes and a no available. If a heading cannot be turned into such a question, it is description and it comes out. Students resist this because the topic plan feels safer and covers more ground. Covering ground is not what the essay is assessed on.

Then examples. The test for an example is whether removing it would change the argument. If the paragraph still works without it, the example was decoration. A real example does analytical work: it shows a claim being established, contested, revised or certified, and the student can say which. The useful ones are usually small and specific, and very often come from her own subjects or her own life rather than from a list of famous cases. A tutor's contribution here is asking what each example shows, not supplying better examples, because an example the student does not understand will collapse the moment she has to explain it.

Next, holding a position. A TOK essay that says yes and also no and also it depends has not done the hardest part, which is taking the counter-argument seriously and still arriving somewhere. So the drafting sessions put the strongest objection to her position in front of her, in its best form rather than a weak version, and make her answer it inside the essay rather than ignoring it. A student who can write the objection better than its holders would and then explain why she still disagrees has written the paragraph the whole essay turns on.

Finally, the word limit, which is the most underrated teaching tool in the course. There is a limit, your child's subject guide states it, and it is far shorter than she wants. That pressure forces every decision she has been avoiding: which example earns its space, which sentence is restating the last one, whether that whole second area of knowledge is doing anything. Cutting to the limit, with the tutor asking what each paragraph contributes, is where a sprawling draft becomes an argument. Through all of it, the work is marked against the published criteria in her subject guide, on her own text, in her own words.

  • Convert every plan heading into a question with yes and no available
  • Remove any heading that cannot become an arguable knowledge question
  • Keep an example only if deleting it would change the argument
  • Put the strongest version of the objection into the essay and answer it
  • Use the word limit as editing pressure, not as a problem to solve last
  • Mark her own drafts against the published criteria, never a rewrite

What progress looks like at four weeks, one term and one exam cycle

At four weeks the thing to look for is the plan, not the prose. Your child should be able to show you a plan made of questions rather than topics, and say for each one what she would argue and what the best objection is. If she still has a list of subject headings after a month of weekly sessions, the tutor is talking and she is nodding, and you should raise it directly. The other four-week marker is whether she does anything between sessions. A student who arrives with a paragraph she wrote unprompted is on track regardless of how rough it is.

At one term, with an interim draft either written or close, the markers get concrete. She can restate her title without altering it. Her examples each do identifiable work and she can name the work. There is at least one paragraph where she states the opposing view fairly and answers it. And she is over the word limit, which sounds like a problem and is actually the best sign on this list, because it means she has material to cut rather than space to fill. A draft that is well under the limit at this stage is usually a draft that is describing rather than arguing.

Across a full cycle, here is the honest range. Students who start in DP1 and keep a weekly or fortnightly rhythm usually produce work that is recognisably theirs and defensible. Students who start six weeks before the internal deadline can be helped to write something competent on a title they have barely read, and that is repair work, which we will describe as repair work when you call. Some students never take to the subject at all, because being argued with is unpleasant and TOK does not let you avoid it. We do not guarantee grades, and nobody honest in this market will tell you otherwise.

On replacing a tutor: you message us, we shortlist again in a few working days, and you pay only for sessions already taken. Tell us what was missing in plain words. Nobody made her defend anything, or she just corrected my daughter's grammar, are both briefs we can match against immediately.

  • Four weeks: a plan made of questions, not a list of topics
  • Four weeks: she writes something between sessions, unprompted
  • One term: she restates the title without changing what it asks
  • One term: being over the word limit is a good sign, not a problem
  • Late starts are repair work and we will say so on the call
  • Replacement in a few working days, paying only for sessions taken

What to send, what TOK home tuition fees depend on, and what session one covers

Send four things and we can shortlist the same day: your area and society or building name, your child's DP year, the prescribed title she is working on or choosing between, and two evening or weekend windows. If she has a plan, however bad, photograph it. If she has school feedback, photograph that too. What we do not need is a diagnostic test, because there is nothing to diagnose in this subject that an hour of argument will not show faster.

Fees first, honestly. IB tuition fees in Mumbai are not a single number and anyone publishing one is quoting their best case. The variables that actually move the figure: board and level, how scarce the subject is, and TOK is scarcer than Mathematics because far fewer tutors teach it well; session length, since ninety minutes of drafting work is a different product from sixty; and travel, which on a home booking is the biggest single factor. A tutor crossing from Andheri to Powai in the evening peak is selling you an hour of teaching and two hours of their evening. Ask for a home rate and an online rate side by side, and ask whether the home rate changes for a weekend slot. Parents who ask that question get a clearer answer than parents who ask who the best IB tutor in Mumbai is, because the second question has no answer and the first one does.

Session one, at your table, runs like this. The tutor reads the title aloud with your child. They take it apart word by word and she writes down what each part asks. Then the tutor argues against her first instinct about the answer, hard enough that she has to think, and they finish by converting two of her topic headings into knowledge questions. You get a written note the same evening with the single misreading that would have cost her the essay. If that note is generic, tell us and we will shortlist again.

People reach this page through all kinds of searches, including plain ones like IB tutors near me Mumbai, and some arrive wanting an IB private tutor Mumbai agencies have already sold them on. The thing worth knowing before you book anyone: a good TOK tutor leaves your child with harder questions than she arrived with, and a bad one leaves her with sentences. You can tell which you have bought after one session, which is why we only ever ask you to commit to one.

  • Send area, DP year, the prescribed title and two workable windows
  • Photograph any existing plan and any school feedback
  • Ask for home and online rates side by side before committing
  • Fees move with level, subject scarcity, session length and travel
  • Session one: read the title apart, then get argued with
  • Same-evening written note naming the one fatal misreading
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

Can a tutor travel to our building for a weekday evening TOK session?+

Yes, if the tutor already lives in your corridor, which is how we match home bookings. A tutor coming from Bandra to Kharghar or down Ghodbunder Road at 7pm will manage it for a month and then start rescheduling, and those lost hours fall in the weeks your child can least afford them. If your only workable slot is a weekday evening, ask for a tutor from your own node or line, or run that slot online and keep home visits for weekends. Society gate clearance is arranged once, as a recurring entry rather than a fresh pass every week.

What does the tutor actually do with my daughter's prescribed title?+

Reads it with her, takes it apart, and never changes a word of it. The title is used exactly as the IB sets it, so the work is noticing precisely what it asks and what it leaves out. The tutor will push her to say which words carry the question, whether it asks if, how far, or what follows, and which areas of knowledge are genuinely in scope. The most valuable thing a tutor does in the first month is catch the moment she starts answering a nearby question that sounds more comfortable, because by draft three that misreading is expensive to undo.

My son's essay plan is a list of topics. Is that a problem?+

It is the most common problem in the subject and it is fixable in one session. A topic plan lists areas: science, history, the arts. It cannot be argued, so it produces description. The fix is to convert each heading into a knowledge question with a real yes and a real no available, then delete any heading that will not convert. Expect his plan to get shorter and feel less impressive, and expect the essay to improve sharply, because the marking rewards an argument sustained over fewer ideas rather than coverage of many.

Will the tutor write or rewrite part of the essay if we are close to the deadline?+

No, and you should end a booking where it happens. A tutor may teach skills, sharpen a question, explain what a published criterion asks for, and comment on a draft your child has written. A tutor may never write, redraft, research for, or supply any part of the essay, and any use of artificial intelligence tools is declared under your school's rules. The subtler version to watch for in home sessions is a tutor dictating while your child types. What we can do under time pressure is help her produce her own competent draft fast, which is a repair job rather than teaching.

Is home tuition better than online for TOK, or are we paying for travel?+

IB DP Theory of Knowledge home tuition in Mumbai earns its premium during planning and drafting: the title and the plan sit on paper, the student moves examples between questions physically, and a tutor arriving on Tuesday breaks a month of avoidance. For argument practice and draft comments, online is as good and sometimes better, because comments sit beside her own sentences in a shared document. Most families end up hybrid, using home sessions through the planning and final-read weeks and online in between. You are partly paying for travel on every home booking, which is why we match inside your corridor.

How much does TOK home tuition cost in Mumbai?+

There is no single figure and we do not publish one. The variables that move it are level and board, how scarce the subject is, session length, and travel distance, which matters more on home bookings than on anything else. TOK sits higher than DP Mathematics for the same hour because far fewer tutors teach it convincingly. Weekend slots sometimes price differently from weekday evenings. Ask any tutor for a home rate and an online rate separately, and ask what happens to the rate if you move the slot to Sunday morning.

Does my child need a separate study room, or is the dining table fine?+

A table and two chairs with the television off is enough, and a dining table is where most of these sessions happen. What matters is space to spread paper, because the title, the plan and the draft need to be visible at the same time, and a desk covered in a laptop does not allow that. A door that closes helps for the arguing part, since she has to be able to be wrong out loud. A parent does not need to sit in, though listening to the first fifteen minutes of session one is worth it.

TOK deals with religion, politics and culture. How is that handled in our home?+

By attribution rather than advocacy. The tutor's job is to make sure a position is attributed to the people who hold it, with their reasons stated fairly and in their strongest form, and to correct a caricature or a sweeping claim about a community offered as if it were evidence. The tutor does not advance a personal view on a contested religious, political or cultural claim and does not tell your child what to conclude. If you ever hear a session turn into a tutor's opinion being transmitted, tell us. What gets corrected is reasoning, not belief.

She is well over the word limit. Should we be worried?+

No, that is the better problem to have. Being over the limit means there is material to choose from, and the cutting process is where a sprawling draft becomes an argument: which example earns its space, which sentence restates the previous one, whether a whole second area of knowledge is contributing anything. Your child's subject guide states the limit and it is binding, so the final draft has to meet it. A draft well under the limit at interim stage usually means she is describing rather than arguing, which takes longer to fix than cutting does.

What happens if the tutor is not working out after a few sessions?+

Message us and we shortlist again, usually within a few working days, with no notice period and payment only for sessions already taken. Say what was missing in plain language. The two most useful pieces of feedback we get are nobody made her defend anything and the tutor only fixed her English, and both point at completely different replacements. TOK mismatches are usually about temperament rather than knowledge: some tutors explain well and never push, and a student who is never pushed will not improve in a subject assessed on argument.

Do you cover Navi Mumbai and Thane for home visits, or only the island and suburbs?+

All six zones. In Navi Mumbai we match node to node across Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Airoli and Panvel, using Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway rather than pulling a tutor over the Atal Setu every week. In Thane we work along Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Thane West and Kasarvadavali, and we are honest that Ghodbunder Road decides what time your slot can be. South Mumbai, the Western Suburbs, the Central Suburbs around Powai and Ghatkopar and the Eastern Suburbs from Chembur to Mulund are all covered the same way.

Can the same tutor help with the exhibition as well as the essay?+

Usually yes, and most TOK tutors work across both pieces, though this page is about the essay because that is what most families searching for home tuition are worried about. For the exhibition the tutor's contribution is questioning the three objects your child has chosen against the prompt she selected, pressing on what each object shows about how knowledge is made or certified rather than what it is. The objects remain her choice and the commentary remains her writing, exactly as with the essay.
