IB DP Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Private Tutor in Mumbai

People do ask us for an IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai to write up reflections or put a portfolio together. The answer is no, and this page explains why without lecturing. Our home tuition covers examined Diploma subjects; CAS is signed off by your school's coordinator and the reflections have to be the student's own.

IB Gram does not tutor CAS and turns down every request to produce it
Reflections, portfolio entries and evidence stay the student's own work
Authority on CAS sits with your school's coordinator, not with any tutor
Home tuition and online sessions cover examined subjects only

The requests we turn down, and what we do instead in Mumbai

A fair number of enquiries that reach us about Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) are asking, in polite wording, for someone to produce the work. Write up the reflections from a few notes. Put the portfolio together over a weekend. Sit with the student the night before the interview and prepare the answers. Nobody phrases it crudely, and nobody asking is a bad parent: it is December, the student is behind, the school has sent a reminder, and this looks like a problem money can solve. It is not. We say no to all three requests, every time, and we say it in the first reply rather than after taking a deposit.

The reason is not primarily about rules. It is that the output would be worthless. A reflection is a first-person account of something the student personally did, read by a CAS coordinator who has met the student and knows what they have been involved in. Written by someone else, it describes an experience that person did not have, and it misrepresents the candidate to their own school. The risk of that sits entirely with the student, not with whoever was paid. There is no version of an IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai writing a portfolio that leaves the student better off.

What we do instead is short. We tell you plainly that CAS is not tutorable by anyone, including us. We point every requirement question at your school's CAS coordinator, who is the only person with the standing to answer it. If a reflection is the sticking point, we describe the prompts that actually get a student writing, which cost nothing. If a Diploma subject is slipping underneath all this, which it very often is, we shortlist verified tutors for that subject and you take it from there.

This is not a filter we apply reluctantly. A platform that sells a service with no content in it loses the family's trust the first time a coordinator asks a direct question. We would rather be the site that told you to stop looking.

  • 1. You send the request, in whatever wording feels natural.
  • 2. We reply the same day saying what we will not do, and why.
  • 3. Every CAS requirement question goes to your school's coordinator.
  • 4. If reflection is the block, we suggest prompts and a conversation, free.
  • 5. If a subject is slipping, we shortlist two or three verified tutors for it.
  • 6. You speak to each one yourself and fix a slot that holds for a term.

Why a private tutor has no standing in CAS at all

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is one of the three core elements of the IB Diploma Programme (DP), alongside the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and it is the one with no assessment attached. It is not graded, it carries no points, and it is completed to the satisfaction of your own school under the supervision of the CAS coordinator there. Compare that with the six Diploma subjects, three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL), each with a published subject guide, defined components and an examiner marking against criteria. A tutor has real standing in those. In CAS they have none.

Standing is the right word, because the question families really want answered is whether the work is acceptable. Only the coordinator can say. A Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) tutor in Mumbai who pronounces on what your school will accept is guessing about another institution's internal expectations, and those expectations differ between a school in Fort and one in Nerul, and change between cohorts. We have watched a family redo weeks of recording because they followed a confident answer found on a tutoring site. Confirm everything with the coordinator, including anything written here.

There is also nothing to teach, which is a separate point from having no standing. Teaching requires content: a syllabus, a technique, a worked example, a mark scheme to work backwards from. The CAS learning outcomes your school lists are demonstrated by doing things over time, taking on something unfamiliar, sticking with a commitment, working with other people, thinking about the ethics of what you are involved in. None of that transfers in a lesson. A student does not get better at having had an experience by being taught about it.

So a Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) IB Diploma Programme (DP), Years 1-2 tutor Mumbai listing is advertising an hour with nothing in it. Either the hour is generic advice about reflective writing, which the coordinator gives better and for free, or it is the tutor doing work that is supposed to be the student's. The first wastes money. The second creates a problem the family did not have before.

  • CAS is a core Diploma element with no grade and no points
  • Your school's coordinator is the only authority on what is acceptable
  • Examined subjects have guides, components and criteria; CAS has none
  • Learning outcomes are demonstrated by doing, not transferred in a lesson
  • Any paid CAS hour is either generic advice or the tutor doing the student's work

What does a student who cannot write a reflection actually need?

Prompts and a conversation, usually from the coordinator, and almost never a paid tutor. The commonest version of this problem is not a student who has done nothing. It is a student who has genuinely coached a junior team all term, or run rehearsals for a school production, and then writes four flat sentences about it because reflective writing is a register nobody has taught them. Their other written output is lab reports and structured essays, where the voice is deliberately impersonal. Reflection asks for the opposite and the switch is harder than adults assume.

The prompts that work are plain and sequential. What did you expect before you started. What actually happened in the first week. What did you get wrong, and when did you notice. What did the other people involved need from you that you had not planned for. What would you do differently if you started again next month. A student who answers those five questions out loud has written the reflection; the typing is the easy part. The coordinator often has the school's own prompts, knows the depth expected, and can tell the student whether their draft is thin or fine. A parent can ask the same five questions over dinner, badly, and it still works.

The other two requests deserve the same direct treatment. Assembling evidence is not a task a stranger can do, because the evidence is a record that this particular student was involved in this particular thing, confirmed through the channel the school approved. A tutor who was not present cannot create it and should not try. Rehearsing an interview is similarly empty: the interview is a conversation with the coordinator about the student's own experience, and a student who did the work does not need a script, while a student who did not need to go and do it rather than practise sounding as though they had.

If you are being offered an IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai for any of those three things, the correct response is to refuse and look at whether a Diploma subject is the real problem. That is where a tutor earns the money. Parents typing IB tutors near me Mumbai while worrying about a portfolio are often one subject away from a much calmer household.

  • Reflection is a writing register problem, not a knowledge problem
  • Five plain prompts get a student from four flat sentences to a real account
  • The coordinator has the school's own prompts and knows the depth expected
  • Evidence records involvement and cannot be assembled by someone absent
  • Interview rehearsal is empty: refuse it and check the subjects instead

Where these requests come from across Mumbai, and what we place instead

They come from every zone in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and the shape of the request shifts with the zone. In South Mumbai, families in Churchgate, Grant Road, Byculla, Prabhadevi and Worli tend to ask for a private tutor by name and expect a specialist for everything, including CAS. The honest answer here is a subject specialist and a conversation with the coordinator, and the practical constraint is that the island city is short on distance and long on signal time, so we match within it rather than bringing someone down the Coastal Road or the Western Line from the suburbs in the evening peak.

In the Western Suburbs, the volume is highest and the requests are most often about a deadline. Bandra West, Khar West, Juhu, Goregaon East, Malad West and Borivali sit along the Western Express Highway and the Western Line, with Metro Line 1 running across to Ghatkopar and Metro Lines 2A and 7 running north to Dahisar, and a home tutor in this corridor works along the line rather than across it. In the Central Suburbs, Powai, Chandivali, Kanjurmarg and Ghatkopar East depend on JVLR and the SCLR because Powai has no station of its own, and requests here often arrive from parents who have just moved into the city mid-cycle and inherited a CAS position already in progress.

The Eastern Suburbs run from Govandi and Chembur through Bhandup and Wadala up to Mulund, with the Harbour Line, the Central Line, the Eastern Express Highway and the Eastern Freeway making the island city closer than the map suggests. Navi Mumbai asks node by node, from Airoli and Vashi through Nerul and Kharghar out to Ulwe and Panvel, joined by Palm Beach Road, the Sion Panvel Highway, the Trans-Harbour Line and the Atal Setu. Thane requests cluster along Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Kolshet Road and the Ghodbunder Road stretch, where evening traffic decides everything.

What we place in all six zones is the same thing: a verified subject tutor for home tuition inside the zone, or online where the subject is scarce enough to justify it. What we never place anywhere in the city is CAS help. A home tutor for Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Mumbai families ask about in Bandra West and in Kharghar alike does not exist in any form worth paying for, and a tutor crossing the Bandra-Worli Sea Link twice a week for one would not hold the slot anyway.

  • South Mumbai: Churchgate, Grant Road, Byculla, Prabhadevi, Worli, matched within the island
  • Western Suburbs: Bandra West, Khar West, Juhu, Goregaon East, Malad West, Borivali
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Kanjurmarg, Ghatkopar East, reached by JVLR and the SCLR
  • Eastern Suburbs: Govandi, Chembur, Bhandup, Wadala and Mulund on the Freeway
  • Navi Mumbai: Airoli, Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar, Ulwe and Panvel, node by node
  • Thane: Pokhran Road, Majiwada, Kolshet Road and Ghodbunder Road evening traffic

Mumbai school deadlines, and why requests like these peak in December

Mumbai's IB schools start the academic year in June, so Diploma Programme Year 2 opens with examinations less than a year ahead. The reminder emails about CAS tend to land in the same months as everything else. From November into February, a DP2 student is carrying Internal Assessment (IA) work in several subjects, the Extended Essay and the Theory of Knowledge essay, with mock examinations in the new year and May examinations after that. That is when a parent looks at a thin portfolio and decides to buy a solution. It is also the month when buying one is most dangerous, because the coordinator is reviewing records closely and a fabricated entry is most visible exactly when it is most tempting.

Families here deal with those calendars at schools including Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Ascend International School in BKC, Jamnabai Narsee International School and Ecole Mondiale World School in Juhu, Oberoi International School on JVLR in Goregaon East, B.D. Somani International School at Cuffe Parade, Gopi Birla Memorial School in Walkeshwar, Bombay International School at Babulnath, Aditya Birla World Academy in Tardeo, Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai, NES International School in Mulund West, JBCN International School in Borivali and Oshiwara, Singapore International School in Dahisar East, Bombay Cambridge International School in Andheri East, Thakur International School in Kandivali East, Witty International School in Chembur, Ryan Global School in Kandivali, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any of those schools or with the IB organisation. We name them because their calendars set the dates our tutors work around.

Each of those schools sets its own CAS expectations: when the record is reviewed, how interviews are scheduled, which commitments it will approve, what a supervisor needs to confirm. Nothing about that is standard across the city, which is another reason an outside tutor cannot usefully pronounce on it. If you have read a specific requirement about duration, hours or evidence format anywhere, treat it as unverified until your own coordinator states it to you directly.

One more Mumbai timing detail worth planning around. The festival stretch through Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali, followed by the monsoon earlier in the year, removes weeks from commitments as well as from tutoring. A record that looked adequate in August can look thin in November for no reason other than the calendar. Noticing that in September and asking the coordinator then is the version of this problem that never becomes an emergency.

  • June start: DP2 begins with May examinations under a year away
  • November to February stacks IA work, the EE, the TOK essay and mocks
  • December is when requests to fabricate peak and when they are most visible
  • Each Mumbai school sets its own CAS review and interview schedule
  • IB Gram is independent and not affiliated with any school named here

Home tuition, online or hybrid for the subject help we do provide?

Home tuition is our lead service and the right default for most Diploma students in this city. The tutor comes to the flat, the student works at their own desk with their own marked work in front of them, and a parent can hear how the hour is going without sitting in it. It suits a student who needs supervision as much as explanation, who stalls when left alone with a problem set, or who is rebuilding Mathematics or Chemistry from a shaky IGCSE base. The trade-off is travel, so the slot has to be one the tutor can repeat weekly for a full term rather than manage once.

Online is right when the subject is scarce or the clock is tight. An IB online tutor in Mumbai reaches a family in Ulwe or Dahisar East who has no local HL specialist, and holds a later weekday slot that no travelling tutor could make. The conditions are real: a quiet room, and a way for the tutor to see written work rather than a face. A DP1 student who drifts without a person at the table will get less from online than the saving is worth.

Hybrid suits the DP2 months described above. One home tuition visit at the weekend for long work on paper, one short online session midweek for whatever blocked the student that week. It protects weekday evenings for whatever the school has approved, and it survives the monsoon and the festival weeks better than two travelling slots do. Most families who start with two home visits end up here by the second term anyway.

All three modes cover examined subjects. None covers CAS. There are no Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) home classes Mumbai parents can usefully book, in person or on a screen, and an IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai offering any of the three modes for it is selling delivery of something that cannot be delivered. What we will place is IB home tuition in Mumbai for the subject that is costing the student time, and we will say which mode we think fits before you ask.

  • Home tuition: supervision, work on paper, rebuilding a weak IGCSE base
  • Online: scarce HL subjects, later slots, needs a quiet room and visible written work
  • Hybrid: weekend home visit plus a short midweek online session
  • Hybrid protects the weekday evenings a school-approved commitment needs
  • No mode delivers CAS: all three cover examined subjects only

How we check Mumbai tutors, and the listings you should walk past

The checks themselves are ordinary. Identity against a government photo identity document. Qualifications confirmed by certificate, not by claim. A record of which boards, levels and subjects the tutor has actually taught and for how long, because Diploma HL teaching and IGCSE teaching are different jobs and the distinction gets blurred in a profile. References from families or schools where they exist. A subject conversation with someone who knows the subject, since a tutor who cannot describe how a component is marked has not worked with it recently.

The check that belongs to this page is a conduct one. Any tutor who offers to write reflections, draft portfolio entries, assemble evidence or prepare a student with rehearsed answers for a CAS interview is removed from the platform and not re-listed. We do not treat that as a borderline judgement call. The offer tells you the person is willing to put a Diploma candidate at risk for a fee, and a tutor willing to do that in CAS is a tutor who will offer to write an Internal Assessment next.

Now the listings to walk past, because most families will see them. Anything promising that a portfolio will be sorted, completed or handled. Anything offering CAS packages by the hour with a syllabus attached, since no such syllabus exists. Anything claiming to know what your school will accept. Anything advertising itself as the best IB tutor in Mumbai with no subjects, levels or boards named anywhere on the page. And be wary of a tutor who promises a specific grade by a specific date: the work belongs to the student, and IB Gram does not guarantee grades either.

Two questions settle most of it. Ask any candidate which boards and levels they taught in the last two years and how one component in that subject is marked. Then ask what they will not help with. A tutor who volunteers that they do not touch CAS reflections, IA drafting or EE writing before you raise it has worked properly inside the Diploma. For a home tuition slot, also confirm which named person is coming, that it is the same person each week, and register the name with your society office in advance.

  • Identity and certificates checked, board and level history recorded
  • A subject conversation with someone who knows the assessment components
  • Offering to write reflections or assemble evidence means permanent removal
  • Walk past any listing promising a portfolio will be sorted or handled
  • Ask what a tutor will not help with before you ask anything else

The CAS deadline is days away and nothing is written: what now?

Email the coordinator today and tell them the truth about where the student is. That is the whole first step, and families resist it because it feels like confessing. It is not: coordinators deal with this every cohort, they usually have more room to work with than a panicking parent assumes, and a late record handled openly is an administrative problem. A fabricated record handled quietly is a different category of problem entirely. The email should be short and factual: what has been done, what has not been recorded, and a request for what the school needs first.

While that reply is pending, get the student writing about what actually happened, in their own words, immediately and imperfectly. Set a timer, take one commitment, answer the five prompts out loud, write the answers down without editing. Thin but honest beats polished and invented, and it beats nothing by a wide margin. Do not reconstruct dates nobody recorded, do not add photographs of events the student was not part of, and do not approach an outside organisation yourself to create something that can be backdated. Approval and safeguarding for any activity run through the school, and a privately arranged commitment may be refused outright.

If somebody has already offered to produce the material and the deadline makes it tempting, this is the place to be blunt. Refuse it. The student is the one who carries the consequence, not the person taking payment, and the consequence of a fabricated account discovered by their own school is far worse than a late portfolio discussed with the coordinator. There is no quiet version of this that stays quiet, because the coordinator interviews the student about the content. An IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai cannot be in that interview.

Then look at what the deadline panic is hiding. In almost every December enquiry of this kind there is also a subject in trouble, usually an HL science or Mathematics, and the household has been spending its attention on the portfolio because the portfolio sends emails. Clearing the subject bottleneck is the part a tutor can genuinely fix, and it returns evenings to the week. An IB home tutor in Mumbai starting in the first week of January, on one subject, does more for a DP2 student's outcome than anything that could be bought for the portfolio.

  • Email the coordinator today with an honest position, not a reconstruction
  • Get the student writing imperfectly now: thin and honest beats polished and invented
  • Never backdate records or add evidence from events the student missed
  • Never arrange an activity with an outside organisation to fill a gap
  • Check which subject the panic is hiding, and fix that instead

Honest expectations at four weeks, one term and one exam cycle in Mumbai

Since the CAS part of this page is a refusal, the only promises worth making are about subject tutoring. At four weeks, after roughly four sessions, expect mechanical change rather than grade change: work going in on time, a student who reads a question properly before starting, fewer blank beginnings. The tutor should be able to name the specific weakness in two sentences. If nobody can name it after a month, the match is wrong and you should say so rather than wait out the term to be polite.

At one term, twelve weeks or so, expect movement in school assessments and in how the student talks about a particular paper or component. For a DP2 student in Chembur or Airoli that often shows as an Internal Assessment draft handed in on the first date requested instead of the third. Expect it to be uneven. A mock examination can dip while the error pattern genuinely improves, because mocks are frequently marked harder on purpose, and the useful question after a mock is which kinds of mistake disappeared rather than what the number was.

At one exam cycle the result is the result. IB Gram does not guarantee grades, and anyone quoting you a certain points gain is describing a sales target. The variables that decide a Diploma outcome are the independent work the student puts in, how they handle the examinations themselves, and the level they started from. Tutoring moves preparation substantially and motivation a little, and it cannot move the other things at all.

On CAS, the only progress measure that exists is the coordinator's view, and asking them at a fixed interval is the whole method. If they say the record is on track, it is on track, whatever a tutor thinks. If they say it is not, follow their instruction literally and promptly. We give the same answer in month one and month twenty: that question has one correct address and it is inside the school, which is also why an IB private tutor Mumbai arrangement for CAS would be money spent on a person with nothing to offer.

  • Four weeks: work submitted on time and the weakness named in two sentences
  • One term: drafts handed in on the first date asked, not the third
  • A mock can dip while the underlying error pattern improves
  • One exam cycle: the outcome rests on independent work and exam handling
  • CAS progress is judged only by the coordinator, asked at fixed intervals

Booking home tuition in Mumbai, and the one email to send first

Send the coordinator email before you contact us. Four lines: where the student stands on CAS, what has not been recorded, what the school needs next, and by when. Ask for a short meeting if the reply is unclear. Keep the answer in writing and treat it as the only authority in the house, above anything on any tutoring website including this one. That email is free, takes five minutes, and settles the part of the problem that no tutor can touch.

Then write to us about the subject, not about CAS. Name the subject, the level, the zone, and one concrete example of what goes wrong, which is more useful than any general description of the student. We come back with a shortlist of two or three verified tutors for an IB home tuition in Mumbai slot at your flat, or an online slot where the subject is scarce or the evening is impossible. You speak to each tutor yourself before committing to anything, and you decide.

For the first session, have the last two pieces of marked school work out, have the student ready to say which topic they dread, and have a weekly slot that survives a busy school week rather than a quiet one. The session is diagnostic. The tutor works through recent errors, separates careless slips from real gaps, and names the two or three topics the next month will attack, and you should have that summary within a day. If it does not come, or the tutor cannot name the gaps with the marked work in front of them, tell us and a different shortlist follows without an argument.

If the conclusion is that you need to hire nobody, that is a completely reasonable place to land and many readers of this page land there. An honest email to the coordinator, five prompts asked at the kitchen table and the student's own words on the page will settle most of what brought you here. We would rather you came back in February because Physics is slipping than booked something today that cannot exist.

  • Email the coordinator first: position, what is unrecorded, next step, deadline
  • Write to us about the subject, with one concrete example of the problem
  • Have the last two marked pieces of work ready for the first session
  • Pick a weekly slot that survives a busy school week
  • Expect the diagnosis in writing within a day of session one
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

Will you provide an IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai if we pay more?+

No, and the price is not the reason. An IB DP CAS private tutor in Mumbai would have no content to teach and no authority over what your school accepts, so the hour would be either generic advice or somebody doing work that belongs to the student. Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is not graded and is signed off by your school's CAS coordinator. We place tutors for examined Diploma subjects, which is where paid teaching genuinely changes an outcome. Ask us about Mathematics, the sciences, Economics or English instead and we will respond the same day.

Can someone come to our home in Bandra West and help assemble the portfolio?+

No. Nobody who was not present at the activities can assemble a record of them, and a home tutor arriving in Bandra West to do it would be fabricating evidence about your child. Evidence confirms that this student was involved in this activity, through the channel your school approved, so the coordinator is the person to ask what form it should take. We do send home tutors to Bandra West, Khar West and Juhu for subject work on the Western Line corridor, and that is the only thing a home tuition visit from us ever covers.

My son has done the activities but cannot write about them. Who helps with that?+

His CAS coordinator, and you, for nothing. The block is almost always the writing register rather than the content: a student fluent in lab reports freezes when asked to write in the first person about himself. Five prompts fix it. What did you expect, what happened in the first week, what did you get wrong, what did the others need from you, what would you change. Have him answer out loud and then write down his own answers without polishing them. The coordinator can confirm whether the depth matches what the school wants.

Someone quoted us a price to complete the whole CAS portfolio. Is that normal?+

It is offered often enough in this city, and it should be refused every time. A completed portfolio produced by an outsider describes experiences the student did not have, and the coordinator interviews the student about its contents, so there is no quiet version of this. The person taking the fee carries none of the consequence; the candidate carries all of it. If the offer came through a channel your school would want to know about, tell the school. Then look at whether a Diploma subject needs the money instead, which is usually the case.

Is there any legitimate home tuition for CAS anywhere in Mumbai?+

No, in the sense that there is nothing for home tuition to deliver. CAS has no syllabus, no papers and no examiner, so a home tutor sitting at your dining table has no material to open. Some providers advertise it anyway, usually as reflective writing coaching, and the coordinator does that better and without charge. Spend the same money on the examined subject that is slipping, where a home tutor has a guide, past components and criteria to work from. That is the honest division, and we apply it to our own listings.

The CAS interview is next week. Should we prepare answers with a tutor?+

No. The interview is a conversation with the coordinator about the student's own experience, so prepared answers either repeat what the student already knows or misrepresent what they did. A student who has been involved in something can talk about it for ten minutes without a script, and a rehearsed performance is noticeable to a coordinator who has met dozens of students. If your child is anxious rather than unprepared, tell the coordinator that. They set the tone of the meeting and will usually make it easier once they know.

What do IB tuition fees in Mumbai depend on?+

Board, level, subject scarcity, travel distance and session length. We will not print a figure, because an invented number would mislead you and rates move. Higher Level Mathematics and HL sciences cost more than Standard Level humanities because fewer tutors teach them well. A tutor accepting an evening slot on Ghodbunder Road or in Ulwe prices that travel in, which is one reason online sessions often come in lower. Ask each shortlisted tutor directly what their rate is and what a session includes, then compare on identical terms rather than on headline numbers.

Can a tutor get through the gate at our society in Kharghar for an evening slot?+

Yes, with one piece of admin done in advance. Most Navi Mumbai complexes in Kharghar, Nerul and Airoli will register a recurring visitor once a resident confirms the name and the weekly time, which stops the tutor waiting at the gate every week. Tell us the society's rule with your enquiry and confirm that the same named person comes each session, because a substitute will not be on the list. Evening traffic on Palm Beach Road and the Sion Panvel Highway is the other constraint, so we match within the node wherever possible.

Does refusing this kind of help put my daughter at a disadvantage?+

No. It puts her in the same position as every student who does CAS properly, which is the position the coordinator expects. The students who end up at a disadvantage are the ones whose record does not survive a conversation about it. Her own thin, honest account written this week is worth more than a polished document she cannot discuss. If she is genuinely behind, the coordinator has handled that before and has more flexibility than a worried parent assumes. The disadvantage comes from silence, not from refusing to buy something.

We are new to Mumbai mid-cycle. Who do we talk to about CAS first?+

The CAS coordinator at the school your child has just joined, before anything else and before any tutoring decision. Families moving into BKC, Powai or Thane partway through the Diploma inherit a CAS position already in progress, and the new school decides how it carries over. Nobody outside that school can tell you what transfers. Ask for a short meeting in the first fortnight. We can run subject diagnostics in parallel, since a mid-cycle move usually leaves gaps in one or two subjects, but the CAS conversation should not wait for us.

Will a home tutor at least remind my son about his CAS deadlines each week?+

A home tutor can ask whether he has done it, and most will, but do not buy a tutor as a reminder service. A subject session is paid time and spending it on calendar management is poor value. Put the deadlines the coordinator gives you on a shared calendar at home and check them yourself once a week. What a home tuition slot genuinely does is remove the subject pressure that makes him avoid everything else, including the portfolio. Avoidance usually has one source, and it is normally a subject rather than CAS.

Does CAS count towards the Diploma score at all?+

CAS is not graded and contributes no points, but it is a Diploma requirement that your school expects to see completed to its satisfaction, which is why the coordinator keeps asking. What completion means at your child's school, and what happens if the record is behind, are questions only that coordinator can answer, and you should ask them rather than rely on anything read online. We do not interpret another school's requirements for families. Subject tutoring has no effect on CAS, and no effect is claimed for it here.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send one email to your school's CAS coordinator with an honest account of where the student stands, then write to us about the subject that is actually slipping, naming the level and your zone. We reply with two or three verified tutors for a home or online slot, and we will not take a booking for CAS from anyone. If the answer turns out to be that you need no tutor, we will say so plainly.
