Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism (0471) Home Tuition in Mumbai

Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai is an arrangement that runs for months, not a visit you book once. This page is about the arrangement itself: how many hours a week actually shift a grade, what a month of home classes looks like, what reaches you between sessions, and how an engagement is paused, handed over or ended without drama.

Weekly hours set against the exam series, not sold as a fixed package
A short written note after every session, not a monthly summary
Named cover tutor agreed in advance for travel, illness and exam duty
Engagements paused or ended with two weeks of notice either way

What we need before a home tuition engagement starts in Mumbai

Most parents who ask about Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai are really asking a question about commitment, and they ask it in the wrong order. They start with how much per hour and get to how long will this run and who marks the work several calls later. Reverse that. Decide first whether you are buying a term-long build or an exam-term rescue, because the two arrangements need different tutors, different hours and different homework loads, and a tutor who is excellent at one can be poorly suited to the other.

So the intake is deliberately about shape rather than price. 1. Tell us the exam series your child is entered for and how many months remain until it, because that single number decides nearly everything else. 2. Tell us whether school reports describe a content gap, a writing problem, or a working-habits problem, since those three need different hours and different tutors. 3. Give us the two or three weekly windows that will still be free in week twenty, not the ones that are free this month. 4. Confirm who at home will read the session notes, because an engagement where nobody reads them drifts within six weeks.

From there we put two or three tutors in front of you with their real availability through to the exam series rather than for the next fortnight. That matters more than parents expect. A tutor who can take Thursdays at 6pm until December and then has a scheduling collision in January is not a term-long match for a May candidate, and finding that out in January costs you the worst possible month. We ask tutors to commit to a horizon, in writing, before a shortlist goes to you, and we tell you where that horizon ends.

The first session sets the baseline that every later judgement gets measured against. The tutor takes one marked piece of work, one past-paper question attempted in front of them, and a short conversation with your child about how they currently revise. Those three things become the written baseline you will be comparing against in week four and at the end of the term. Without it, every conversation about progress becomes a conversation about feelings.

  • Decide term-long build or exam-term rescue before discussing an hourly rate
  • Name the exam series month; it drives hours, homework and tutor choice
  • Say whether the problem is content, writing or working habits
  • Pick slots that survive to week twenty, not slots free this month
  • Tutors commit to an availability horizon in writing before shortlisting
  • Session one produces a written baseline you will measure against later

Is your child on the Cambridge route, and for which series?

Establish which course your child is actually entered for before an engagement is costed, because the answer changes the length of the commitment. Travel and Tourism (0471) is set by Cambridge International Education and sat in the IGCSE window, which Mumbai schools usually spread across Years 9 to 11. It is not an International Baccalaureate (IB) subject and it is not a Pearson Edexcel one, and a Travel and Tourism (0471) IGCSE Years 9-11 tutor Mumbai families engage for two years is planning around a different horizon from one brought in for a single exam term.

The practical question is the series. A November candidate and a May candidate hire the same subject and buy completely different arrangements. The May candidate's expensive months are December through March and the sensible plan starts the previous June with a light weekly hour. The November candidate's crunch sits across the monsoon and the early part of the second term, which means the engagement runs through the months when Mumbai travel is at its worst and continuity planning stops being optional. Ask your school's examinations officer which series your child is entered for and whether that entry has been confirmed; parents are sometimes certain about this and wrong.

Avoid building a plan around assessment figures you have read secondhand. Paper weightings, durations, mark totals and option structures all sit on Cambridge's own revision cycle, and a tutor who quotes them from memory may be describing a version that has been superseded. We name the papers and the skills they test, and we send you to the current Cambridge subject guide and your subject coordinator for the structure. An engagement planned around a stale weighting puts hours in the wrong place for a whole term, which is an expensive way to be slightly wrong.

IB Gram is an independent tutor-matching platform. We are not affiliated with Cambridge International Education or with any school named on this page, we hold no arrangement with them, and we cannot see your child's entry details. Everything here is to help you shape an engagement, not to replace what your school tells you.

  • Cambridge International Education sets 0471, not Pearson Edexcel or the IB
  • Confirm the series with your examinations officer before costing an engagement
  • May candidates: crunch is December to March, so start the previous June
  • November candidates: crunch sits across the monsoon, so plan cover early
  • Take paper structure from the current Cambridge subject guide, not from memory

Where the weekly hour goes once Papers 1 and 2 are the target

A weekly hour of home tuition for Papers 1 and 2 and their industry case studies has to be allocated, not filled. The default drift is for a tutor to re-teach whatever the school covered that week, which feels productive and is the least valuable use of a paid hour. The allocation we ask tutors to work to across an ongoing engagement is roughly: a fifth of the hour reviewing marked homework, half on the one skill or content area that the baseline flagged, and the rest on writing a timed answer that gets marked before the next session. The proportions shift near mocks, but the principle holds that re-teaching the school's week is cover, not tuition.

Over a term that allocation adds up to something specific. A student who writes one marked timed answer a week produces something like a dozen marked answers across a term, and that pile is the real asset the engagement builds. It is also what makes the final six weeks before the series cheap rather than expensive: revision becomes rereading your own marked work with the tutor's margin comments, which is a fundamentally different activity from meeting the content again. Families who skip the weekly marked answer for twelve weeks end up buying extra sessions in March to manufacture one.

Case-study material is the part that needs work between sessions rather than inside them. A Travel and Tourism (0471) tutor in Mumbai can read an extract with your child in the room, and it is largely wasted contact time; the extract should be read before the session so the hour can be spent on what the student does with it. This is the most common reason an engagement stalls at a decent but static level. Homework in this subject is reading, and reading is the homework that students most reliably skip because nothing visible gets produced.

Which is why the homework instruction we push tutors towards is always productive rather than receptive. Not read the chapter on visitor attractions, but read it and come with three attractions in Mumbai that fit each category in the syllabus. A student who has to produce something will read; a student asked only to read will skim. Over an ongoing engagement that single habit difference is worth more than an extra weekly hour, and it costs nothing.

  • Allocate the hour: homework review, one target skill, one timed answer
  • Re-teaching the school's week is cover, not tuition, and wastes paid time
  • One marked timed answer a week builds a term's revision material
  • Case-study reading belongs between sessions, not inside the paid hour
  • Homework must produce something, or it gets skimmed
  • Final six weeks get cheaper when the marked-answer pile already exists

Matching a tutor who can still reach you in week twenty across Mumbai

The question that decides whether Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai survives a full term is not whether a tutor can reach you in week one. Everybody manages week one. The question is week twenty, in January, when the novelty has gone and the tutor has three other families. Travel distance is the single best predictor of an engagement quietly dying, and we match for the long version rather than the enthusiastic version.

In South Mumbai, Mumbai, Maharashtra at its most compressed, a tutor living in Prabhadevi or Breach Candy can hold a standing slot in Colaba or Fort for a year; one commuting down from the Western Suburbs on the Sea Link and the Coastal Road will hold it for a term and then start proposing swaps. Metro Line 3 has changed that calculation for Cuffe Parade and BKC families, but not for the evening peak on Peddar Road. In the Western Suburbs, matching along the Western Line works and matching across it does not: Juhu to Vile Parle is trivial, Goregaon to Malad is fine, Kandivali to Juhu on a Friday evening is not a weekly commitment anyone keeps. Metro Lines 2A and 7 have made the Dahisar to Andheri stretch workable where it was not.

In the Central Suburbs, Powai and Chandivali hang off JVLR with no station of their own, so a Powai engagement is really a road engagement from Andheri East, Kanjurmarg or Ghatkopar, and monsoon weeks hit it harder than they hit Kurla or Mulund on the Central Line. The Eastern Suburbs behave differently because of the Eastern Freeway and the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road: a tutor in Chembur or Wadala can reach Govandi and Vikhroli easily and can also take an island-city family in a way a Mulund tutor cannot. In Navi Mumbai we match inside the nodes, Vashi to Nerul to Belapur to Panvel on Palm Beach Road and the Harbour Line, because an Atal Setu crossing for a weekday evening lesson does not hold for twenty weeks. In Thane the whole schedule is set by Ghodbunder Road, so a Kasarvadavali family needs a Kasarvadavali or Majiwada tutor rather than one near the station.

None of this means your options are thin. A parent typing IGCSE tutors near me Mumbai into a phone is usually within range of several suitable tutors; the point is that we would rather give you the third-closest specialist who will still be arriving in March than the one who impressed you in June and stopped coming in November. Where geography genuinely does not allow a sustainable weekly visit, we say so and propose a hybrid rather than placing a match we expect to fail.

  • South Mumbai: Colaba, Fort, Prabhadevi and Breach Candy, matched within the island
  • Western Suburbs: Juhu, Vile Parle, Goregaon, Malad and Kandivali along the line
  • Central Suburbs: Powai, Chandivali, Kurla and Mulund, with JVLR setting Powai timings
  • Eastern Suburbs: Chembur, Wadala, Govandi and Vikhroli, helped by the Eastern Freeway
  • Navi Mumbai: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur and Panvel, matched node to node
  • Thane: Majiwada, Pokhran Road and Kasarvadavali, with Ghodbunder Road deciding slots

Which months of the Mumbai school year actually need more hours?

Four windows need more hours than the rest, and knowing them in June lets you budget an engagement properly instead of discovering it in January. The first is October, when internal assessments cluster for Year 11 cohorts. The second is the fortnight either side of Diwali, because the break sits awkwardly against those assessments. The third is the December and January mock cycle that most schools use to set predicted grades. The fourth is the four weeks before the final series. Everything between those windows runs at the baseline weekly hour, and trying to run peak hours all year produces a tired student and an exhausted budget by February.

The school sets the shape of those windows and schools differ. Families at B.D. Somani International School in Cuffe Parade, Aditya Birla World Academy in Tardeo, Activity High School on Peddar Road, Oberoi International School at Goregaon East, Utpal Shanghvi Global School in Juhu, NES International School in Mulund West, JBCN International School, Chembur, Thakur International School in Kandivali East, Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul are all working to broadly the same June start and the same May or November series, but their internal assessment calendars are not synchronised. Get the school's assessment calendar in June and give it to the tutor; an engagement planned against the actual calendar beats one planned against a general idea of the year.

The planning move that saves the most money is adding hours before a window rather than during it. Two extra sessions in the three weeks before the December mocks are worth more than four in the week of them, because a mock week has no room left in it for new learning. The same logic applies in April for a May candidate: the useful extra hours are in March. Parents who ring us in mock week asking for an urgent additional tutor are usually asking for something that cannot help, and we would rather tell them that than take the booking.

Naming schools here is local context. IB Gram is an independent platform, not affiliated with any of these schools, and we do not represent them or receive anything from them. We also do not guarantee grades, and an engagement planned honestly around these four windows is a better use of your money than any promise about outcomes would be.

  • Four peak windows: October internals, Diwali fortnight, winter mocks, pre-series month
  • Baseline weekly hour between the windows keeps the budget and the student intact
  • Get the school's assessment calendar in June and hand it to the tutor
  • Extra hours before a mock help; extra hours during mock week do not
  • Assessment calendars differ between Mumbai schools on the same series

Home classes, online cover and the hybrid that holds for a year

Home tuition is the lead arrangement and for most Travel and Tourism families it should stay that way. A tutor in the room marks work in front of the student, sees the twenty minutes of drift that a report never records, and talks to you for two minutes at the door, which is where most of the useful information in an engagement actually gets transferred. Travel and Tourism (0471) home classes Mumbai parents book on a standing weekly slot are also the format students turn up to most reliably, because an arrangement with a person arriving is harder to skip than a link.

Where online belongs in an ongoing engagement is as cover rather than as a substitute, and this is the practical reason to agree it in advance. A tutor stuck on the Eastern Express Highway, down with a fever, or away for a week of school examination duty can still teach from where they are. An engagement with an agreed online fallback loses perhaps two sessions a year; one without it loses eight, and the eight are never the convenient weeks. Set the fallback up in month one, test it once while nothing depends on it, and leave it in place.

The hybrid pattern that survives a full year is usually weekly home classes with planned online weeks around the monsoon and the two or three weeks a year when travel is predictably impossible. Some families invert it for a specific reason: a student in Panvel or Kasarvadavali with a scarce subject may do better with three online weeks and one home visit a month, where the visit exists to run timed practice and have the parent conversation. A home tutor for Travel and Tourism (0471) Mumbai families keep on that rhythm costs less in travel loading and holds longer than a weekly cross-city visit.

What we will not do is quietly convert a home engagement to online because it has become inconvenient for the tutor. If a tutor proposes that, it is a conversation with us, not a change you discover. Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai means a tutor arriving, and if that stops being realistic we would rather rematch you than let the arrangement erode into something you did not choose.

  • Home classes stay the default: marking in the room and the doorstep conversation
  • Agree an online fallback in month one and test it before you need it
  • A planned fallback costs about two lost sessions a year instead of eight
  • Scarce-subject families far out may prefer three online weeks to one visit
  • A tutor cannot convert your home engagement to online unilaterally

What a parent should keep checking after week one

Before any shortlist reaches you we have verified government photo identity against the name on the qualification documents, checked degree and teaching credentials as documents rather than as claims, and taken two references from people who have watched the person teach. For an ongoing engagement we also ask about the last two families they taught for a full term, because the question that matters for a year-long arrangement is not whether someone can teach but whether they stay.

The checks that only you can run are the ones that repeat. Each month, look at three things. Is there a marked piece of work with written comments on it, not just a tick? Does the session note name what is still weak rather than reporting that the session went well? Has the plan changed in response to anything, or is it the same list of topics it was in week one? An IGCSE private tutor Mumbai families keep for two years is nearly always one whose plan visibly reacts to evidence. A tutor whose monthly note could have been written in advance is coasting, and coasting is harder to spot than incompetence.

Two more that catch problems early. Ask your child, once a month and away from the tutor, what the last session covered and what they are supposed to do before the next one; a blank answer in month three is a clearer signal than any mark. And check whether homework is being set and then actually looked at, because unmarked homework is the most common silent failure in a long engagement. Be wary of a tutor who promises a specific grade, who discourages you from sitting in occasionally, or who suggests dropping the written homework because there is not enough time.

On the money side, know what the hourly rate includes before month two rather than arguing about it in month six. Marking of work set in the session is normally inside the rate. Writing a full mock paper from scratch, attending a parent-teacher meeting, or producing a detailed written report for a school is normally outside it. Travel loading, if any, should be stated once and not revisited. We put all of that in writing at the start because the rate disputes we see are almost never about the number; they are about what someone assumed was included.

  • Identity, credentials and two teaching references checked before shortlisting
  • We ask about the last two families taught for a full term, not just one session
  • Monthly check: marked work with comments, a plan that has visibly changed
  • Ask your child monthly what the last session covered and what is due
  • Be wary of promised grades or advice to drop written homework
  • Agree in writing what the rate includes, and what sits outside it

How many hours a week actually move a grade?

One well-used weekly hour plus marked homework moves most Travel and Tourism students, and a second hour only helps once the first is being used properly. That sounds like an underclaim and it is the honest answer. The limiting factor in this subject is almost never contact time; it is whether the case-study reading happens between sessions and whether the written answer gets produced and marked. A student doing neither will not improve on two hours a week any faster than on one, and the extra hour mostly converts into the tutor reading the material aloud.

The cases where a second weekly hour is genuinely right are specific. A student who joined the course late and is covering content rather than deepening it needs the extra hour for as long as the gap exists. A student in the four weeks before the series needs it for timed practice and marking turnaround rather than for teaching. A student with a diagnosed writing problem who is producing answers but structuring them badly can use a second shorter session purely for answer planning, and twenty-five focused minutes twice a week beats fifty minutes once for that particular fault. Outside those three, a second hour is usually a parent buying reassurance.

Session length matters as much as frequency and gets less thought. Sixty minutes is the working default for IGCSE. Ninety works for timed practice and for students who need a long run at a case study, and it is wasted on a tired Year 9 at 8pm. Two hours is almost always too long on a weekday and is better split. A tutor arriving at 7.30pm after your child has been at school since eight and crossed the city home is not getting ninety good minutes whatever the timetable says, and an engagement built on slots like that degrades quietly over a term.

What all this means for cost is that you should budget in hours across months rather than in rupees per session. Rates for Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai depend on the board, the level, how scarce the subject specialism is, the session length and the travel distance, and Travel and Tourism sits at the scarcer end of the IGCSE range because fewer tutors have taught it. We quote the real rate for the real tutors on your shortlist. What we will not do is publish a price list, because a number that is right for a Mulund engagement is wrong for a Cuffe Parade one and would mislead most of the people reading it.

  • One weekly hour plus marked homework moves most students in this subject
  • A second hour earns its place for late joiners, pre-series weeks or answer planning
  • Twenty-five minutes twice a week beats fifty once for structure problems
  • Sixty minutes is the IGCSE default; two hours on a weekday evening is not
  • Budget in hours across months rather than in rupees per session
  • Scarcity, level, session length and distance set the rate, not a price list

What reaches you between sessions, and what a month looks like

A month of a working engagement has a visible shape. Week one, the tutor sets homework and marks the previous week's answer with written comments. Week two, something gets flagged as still weak and the plan moves. Week three, a timed answer under something close to exam conditions. Week four, a short note to you naming what improved, what has not, and what the next four weeks target. Four sessions, four marked pieces of work, one short written note. If a month has gone by and you have none of that, the engagement is drifting whether or not the sessions happened.

The between-sessions channel should be boring and consistent. A three-line note after each session saying what was covered, what was set, and one thing to watch is worth more than a polished monthly report, because it arrives while you can still act on it. We ask tutors for the short note rather than the long report for exactly that reason. You should not have to ask for it, and you should not have to attend sessions to know what is happening in them. Parents who want more detail can sit in occasionally, and any tutor who objects to that in principle is the wrong tutor.

Progress at four weeks is behavioural rather than numerical, and expecting a mark change by then sets everyone up for a bad conversation. At one term, marks on the question types that have been drilled should be moving, homework should arrive without a reminder, and the tutor should be able to name two remaining weaknesses and the plan for them. Across a full series the honest statement is that steady work from June usually ends somewhere better than the trajectory suggested. We do not guarantee grades, we make no promises about results, and a tutor who offers a specific grade is describing something outside their control. Parents hunting for the best IGCSE tutor in Mumbai often find that the real variable was the homework, not the tutor.

Ending or pausing matters as much as starting, and the time to agree it is month one. Our default is two weeks of notice in either direction: you can pause for a family trip, a school examination block or a budget month, and a tutor can give notice if their own schedule changes. A pause longer than about six weeks is a restart in practice, and we would rather rematch you then than pretend continuity exists. If a tutor leaves mid-engagement, the baseline, the session notes and the marked work transfer to the next one, so you pay for a new match rather than a new diagnosis.

  • A working month: four sessions, four marked pieces, one short written note
  • Three-line note after each session beats a polished monthly report
  • Four weeks is behavioural; one term is where marks should move
  • Two weeks of notice either way, for pauses and for ending
  • A pause beyond six weeks is a restart, and we will say so
  • Baseline, notes and marked work transfer when a tutor changes

Starting Cambridge IGCSE Travel and Tourism 0471 home tuition in Mumbai

Have four things ready and the first week stops being wasted. The exam series your child is entered for. The school's assessment calendar for the year, which is usually published in June. The last marked piece of written work with the teacher's comments legible. And the two weekly windows that will still be free in January. That last one is the item parents skip and the one that decides whether this engagement reaches the series.

Session one produces the baseline, not a lesson plan. The tutor looks at the marked work, watches one past-paper question attempted live, asks your child how they currently revise, and leaves you a written starting point. Session two is where the actual teaching begins, and by the end of week four you should have four marked pieces of work and a note that names what has moved. Judge the engagement on that, not on whether the first session felt pleasant.

After that it runs on a fixed slot with agreed cover, an agreed notice period, and a monthly review you do not have to chase. Add hours before the October internals and the winter mocks rather than during them. If the match is wrong, say so and we replace the tutor while keeping the baseline and the marked work. The arrangement is meant to be easy to stop and easy to hand over, because an engagement that is hard to leave is one nobody examines honestly.

  • Bring the exam series, the school calendar, marked work and two durable slots
  • Session one builds a written baseline; session two starts the teaching
  • By week four expect four marked pieces and a note on what moved
  • Add hours before the October and winter windows, not inside them
  • Replacing a tutor keeps the baseline, the notes and the marked work
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

How long should we commit to home tuition for before judging it?+

Four weeks to judge the match and one term to judge the result. Four weeks gives you four marked pieces of work, one written note and a child who can either recap the last session or cannot. That is enough to decide whether the tutor is right. A term is what you need before concluding that the plan is wrong, because marks on drilled question types take that long to move. Committing beyond a term in advance is unnecessary, and any arrangement that asks you to is protecting the tutor rather than the student.

What happens if our tutor cannot travel to the building for a session?+

The agreed online fallback runs instead, which is why we set it up in month one and test it while nothing depends on it. Mumbai produces perhaps two or three genuinely impossible travel weeks a year between the monsoon and the roads, and an engagement without a fallback loses far more sessions than those weeks require. For planned absences of a week or more, such as school examination duty, we arrange a named cover tutor who gets the baseline and session notes beforehand rather than leaving a gap in the schedule.

What do IGCSE tuition fees in Mumbai actually depend on?+

The board, the level, how scarce the subject specialism is, the session length and the travel distance. Travel and Tourism is at the scarcer end of IGCSE because fewer tutors have taught it, which raises rates relative to Maths or Physics. Distance matters twice: it raises the rate and it shortens the life of the engagement. We quote the real figure for the actual tutors on your shortlist instead of publishing a list, because a rate that fits a Mulund arrangement misdescribes a Cuffe Parade one and would mislead most readers.

Is marking of homework included in the hourly rate?+

Marking of work set during sessions is normally inside the rate, and you should expect written comments rather than ticks. Outside it, typically, are writing a full mock paper from scratch, attending a school parent-teacher meeting, and producing a formal written report for a school or university application. Travel loading, where it applies, is stated once at the start and not revisited mid-term. We put all of this in writing in month one, because the disagreements we see about money are almost never about the number itself but about what someone assumed came with it.

Can we pause the engagement for a family trip or an exam block?+

Yes, with about two weeks of notice, and the slot is held for you. Short pauses of two to four weeks are routine and cost nothing beyond the missed sessions. A pause beyond roughly six weeks is a restart rather than a pause, because the tutor will usually have filled the slot and your child will have lost the rhythm, so we would rather rematch you honestly at that point. The same notice works in the other direction: a tutor whose own schedule changes gives you two weeks, not a text on the day.

How do we know what happened in a session we did not sit in on?+

A three-line note after every session: what was covered, what was set, and one thing to watch. That arrives the same evening, while you can still act on it, which is why we ask for it instead of a monthly report. Once a month you should also get a short note naming what has improved, what has not, and what the next four weeks target. You are welcome to sit in occasionally as well, and a tutor who objects to that as a matter of principle is not the right tutor for a long engagement.

When should we start if our child sits the May series?+

The previous June is ideal, October still works, and February is triage. A June start lets a light weekly hour build the marked-answer pile before the October internals and the winter mocks that set predicted grades. An October start means arriving just as the pressure does, which is workable but costs more hours per unit of progress. From February the honest plan is to pick the three recurring question types and make them reliable rather than attempt the syllabus. The worst start is the fortnight before a mock, since session one goes on diagnosis and session two watches the mock happen.

Our evening slots keep slipping because of school and activities. What do we do?+

Move the slot once, deliberately, rather than rescheduling week by week. A slot that slips twice a month is the wrong slot, and the rescheduling itself damages the engagement more than the missed hour does, because a tutor with three other families cannot keep absorbing it. Weekend mornings suit timed practice and suit students whose weekday evenings are genuinely full. If the real problem is that your child gets home at seven and is finished by eight, a shorter weekday session plus a longer weekend one usually works better than fighting the calendar.

What if there is no progress after a month of home classes?+

A month is too early for marks and exactly right for diagnosing the match. Look at whether homework is being set and marked with comments, whether the plan has changed in response to anything, and whether your child can tell you what the last session covered. If those three are fine, give it the term. If any of them is missing, tell us and we replace the tutor, usually within a few days, carrying the baseline and the marked work across. Roughly one match in six needs changing, most often on pace or personality rather than subject knowledge.

Do you run home tuition in Navi Mumbai and Thane, or only the island city?+

Both, and we match inside them rather than across. In Navi Mumbai that means a Vashi, Nerul, Belapur or Panvel tutor for a Navi Mumbai family, because an Atal Setu crossing for a weekday evening slot does not survive twenty weeks. In Thane it means matching with Ghodbunder Road in mind, so a Kasarvadavali family gets a Kasarvadavali or Majiwada tutor rather than one near the station. Where a scarce subject makes local matching impossible, we propose a hybrid rather than placing an arrangement we expect to collapse in November.

Can one tutor cover another subject as well, to save on the arrangement?+

Sometimes, and it is worth asking, though it should not be the deciding factor. A tutor who can take Travel and Tourism and Business or Geography reduces the number of standing slots you are managing, which genuinely helps a crowded week. The risk is accepting a weaker subject specialist for the convenience, and in a small-entry subject like this the specialism is the thing you are paying for. If the second subject is where your child is strong, a combined arrangement usually works; if both are weak, two tutors is the better spend.

What happens to the engagement after the exam series finishes?+

It ends by default rather than rolling on, and we would rather you restart deliberately than drift into paying through the summer. Some families continue a reduced arrangement into the next course, particularly where the student moves on to an A Level or Diploma Programme subject that builds on this one, and the handover is easier when the same tutor carries it. Others stop and come back the following June. The marked work and the session notes stay available to you either way, which makes a later restart cheaper than a first start.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send us the exam series, the school, and the two weekly windows that will still be free in January. We come back with two or three tutors who have taught this syllabus, their availability through to the series, and what their rate includes. Session one builds a written baseline. By week four you should hold four marked pieces of work and a note naming what moved. If the match is wrong, we replace the tutor and the baseline carries over.
