How does IB Gram find a Cambridge IGCSE English First Language 0500 home tutor in Mumbai?

You send one message with your address, your child's school and the two evenings you can genuinely protect. Within a day you get two or three tutors who already teach Cambridge IGCSE English First Language 0500 and who can reach your building and get home again without a two-hour round trip. You meet one before you commit to anything, in your own living room.

The sequence is deliberately boring. 1. Tell us the pin code, the board, the school and the slots that are actually free once the school bus, football practice and the Maths tuition are accounted for. 2. We filter verified English specialists by travel corridor before we look at anything else, because a tutor who cannot repeat the journey in June will stop coming in June. 3. You receive a shortlist naming each tutor's Cambridge teaching background, the components they mark hardest on and the weekly slot they can hold for a full term. 4. A first session runs in your home with a past reading passage on the table, so you watch how the tutor teaches instead of reading about it. 5. You confirm the slot, move it, or ask for a different tutor without an argument.

That order is the part most parents get wrong on their own. They start from subject expertise and discover in week five that geography was always the real problem: the teacher who was excellent on composition lives in Mulund, the flat is in Lower Parel, and the Eastern Express Highway at 6.30pm turns a goodwill arrangement into a resented one. Matching on the route first is the only reason standing slots survive past the second month.

What we need from you is unglamorous. The school's assessment calendar if the English coordinator has shared it. The last report with the written comment, not only the letter grade. Whether your child reads anything for pleasure, because a reader and a non-reader need completely different first months on this syllabus. And one honest sentence about the evening itself: whether an adult is home, whether a younger sibling will be in the room, whether the dining table is clear at 7pm or still holds dinner.

  • One message gives us pin code, school, board and free evenings
  • A shortlist of two or three tutors, never a directory to sift
  • Travel corridor filtered before subject depth, so the slot survives the term
  • First session held at your table with a past reading passage
  • Tutor changed on request without restarting the search from zero

Where English First Language (0500) sits in the Cambridge ladder Mumbai schools follow

Parents looking for an English First Language (0500) tutor in Mumbai are almost always at one of two points: the start of Year 9, when the two-year International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) course begins, or the middle of Year 11, when mock results have landed badly. Cambridge International Education sets this syllabus for students who use English as their main language of education, which is the case in nearly every international school in the city.

Below it sits Cambridge Lower Secondary and its Checkpoint tests in Year 8, which is where most Mumbai families first see a formal English grade that is not their class teacher's opinion. Above it sit Cambridge AS and A Level English, or a switch into the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) at English A. The switch matters for Year 11 planning: a student heading for DP English A Language and Literature gains from being pushed hard on the directed writing task now, because that transformation of a text for a new audience is the closest thing in the syllabus to what DP Paper 1 will ask later.

Two distinctions cause most of the confusion we hear on calls. First, English as a Second Language is a different Cambridge syllabus with different papers, and a child who was moved into it in Year 9 is not sitting 0500 at all. Second, Literature in English is its own separate syllabus, so a student can be strong on poetry analysis and still lose marks on a 0500 summary task, because the two reward different things. An English First Language (0500) IGCSE Years 9-11 tutor Mumbai parents hire in Year 9 has two full years to build the reading habit; one hired in January of Year 11 is doing triage on specific components, and should say so plainly rather than promise a rebuild.

Schools in the city also differ on how they enter candidates. Some run a coursework portfolio route alongside the written reading paper; others enter students for written papers only. These arrangements change, and so do the syllabus documents, so ask your school's English coordinator which route your child is entered for and read the current Cambridge subject guide for that year rather than trusting last year's forum post.

  • Cambridge Lower Secondary and Checkpoint sit below the Years 9-11 course
  • Cambridge AS and A Level or IB Diploma Programme English sit above
  • English as a Second Language is a different syllabus with different papers
  • Literature in English is separate and rewards a different reading skill
  • Ask your coordinator whether your school entered the coursework route

Paper 1 reading and Paper 2 directed writing, worked at your own dining table

English First Language (0500) home classes Mumbai families book usually begin with a diagnostic on the reading paper, because that is where the hidden losses are. Paper 1 asks a student to read unfamiliar prose closely: to answer comprehension questions, to explain how a writer's language choices create a particular effect, and to select and reorganise material into a summary. Paper 2 asks for directed writing, where a given text has to be turned into a letter, a speech, an article or a journal entry for a stated audience, followed by a composition that is either descriptive or narrative.

The reading-for-ideas marks are the ones families almost never see coming. A student can understand a passage completely and still score poorly on the summary because she has quoted whole sentences rather than isolated the distinct points, or because she repeated the same idea in two different outfits. At the table, a tutor can do the only exercise that fixes this: hand over a passage and a pencil, ask for the points to be numbered in the margin, then cover the passage and ask for the summary from the numbers alone. The habit transfers. Watching a student do that twice in front of you tells you more than three report cards.

On the language-effect questions the difference between grades is specificity. A student who writes that the writer uses imagery to make the scene interesting has said nothing; a student who notes that the wind clawed at the shutters, and that clawed turns the weather into something predatory with a will of its own, has earned the mark. Tutors teach that with short extracts, one sentence at a time, rejecting the first vague answer out loud. It is an uncomfortable, face-to-face process, and it is much slower over video.

Composition work is where the home setting pays for itself most obviously. A descriptive piece gets marked in pen, handed back, and the same paragraph rewritten twice while the tutor watches which choices the student reaches for under pressure. Narrative openings that begin with a description of the weather or an alarm clock get cut on the spot. None of this needs new material each week; it needs the same three skills attacked repeatedly with a pen, which is why an unglamorous standing slot at your table beats a varied syllabus tour.

  • Paper 1 covers comprehension, language effect and the summary task
  • Paper 2 covers directed writing for an audience, then a composition
  • Reading-for-ideas marks reward distinct points, not quoted sentences
  • Language-effect answers need one precise word, not a general label
  • Compositions get rewritten at the table, not just commented on

Which parts of Mumbai can a 0500 home tutor actually reach?

All six: South Mumbai, the Western Suburbs, the Central Suburbs, the Eastern Suburbs, Navi Mumbai and Thane. The useful answer is narrower than the map. Across Mumbai, Maharashtra a Cambridge IGCSE English First Language 0500 home tutor in Mumbai is matched inside one corridor, because the same journey has to work forty times over two terms, not once on a good Sunday.

In South Mumbai the distances are short and the clock still beats you: Colaba to Worli is a few kilometres and the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals can swallow forty minutes of an evening, so tutors for Cuffe Parade, Walkeshwar, Fort and Tardeo families are drawn from the island itself rather than brought down the Coastal Road or across the Bandra-Worli Sea Link from Bandra. Metro Line 3 has made the Cuffe Parade to Bandra Kurla Complex leg predictable for the first time, which helps a tutor who teaches in both. The Western Suburbs run north to south along the Western Line and the Western Express Highway, so Khar to Santacruz or Malad to Kandivali is easy and Juhu to Andheri East at 6pm is not; Metro Lines 2A and 7 have changed the arithmetic for Borivali and Dahisar families, and Metro Line 1 handles the Andheri to Ghatkopar crossing that road traffic ruins.

The Central Suburbs sit on the Central Line and the Eastern Express Highway, with Powai and Chandivali hanging off the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road in between. Powai has no station of its own, so a tutor reaches a Hiranandani Gardens flat by road from Andheri East, Kanjurmarg or Ghatkopar, and the JVLR crawl is the whole difference between a 6.30pm start and a 7.15pm start. In the Eastern Suburbs, from Chembur and Govandi up through Vikhroli and Bhandup to Mulund, the Central and Harbour lines plus the Eastern Freeway and the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road make South Mumbai much closer than it looks, and this is the one case where a cross-city match is worth trying.

Navi Mumbai is planned in nodes, so Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel are each a short run from the next along Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway, and tutors are matched node to node. The Atal Setu has made a Chembur or Wadala tutor reaching Ulwe plausible, but a 7pm weekday lesson that depends on the sea bridge twice a week rarely holds for a full term. In Thane the Ghodbunder Road stretch sets the schedule: a tutor living near Thane station reaches Kasarvadavali in twenty minutes off-peak and close to an hour in the evening peak, so Pokhran Road and Majiwada families are matched within Thane, and the Trans-Harbour Line matters more to them than the Central Line does.

  • South Mumbai tutors are matched within the island, not brought from suburbs
  • Along the Western Line, matching north to south beats crossing the highway
  • Powai has no station, so tutors arrive by road via JVLR
  • The Eastern Freeway makes Chembur and Wadala genuinely close to Fort
  • Navi Mumbai is matched node to node: Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar

The Mumbai school calendar that sets your 0500 deadlines

The academic year in most Mumbai international schools opens in June, which means Year 9 English begins in the monsoon and the first four weeks of any new home slot will lose a session to water on the road. IB Gram is an independent platform and is not affiliated with any school named on this page; we name them because their calendars are what your evenings have to fit around, not because we have any arrangement with them.

The first real pressure point arrives in late October and November. Schools such as Cathedral and John Connon School in Fort, Bombay International School at Babulnath and B.D. Somani International School at Cuffe Parade run internal assessments and then mocks either side of the Diwali break, and the break itself is where good intentions die: three weeks of no sessions, followed by a mock in the second week back. Families at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Jamnabai Narsee International School tell us the same thing every year, that English revision was the thing postponed because it felt less urgent than Chemistry.

December and January are when coursework and controlled assessment deadlines land for schools running that route, and they collide with the second mock round. A Year 11 student at Hiranandani Foundation School in Powai or NES International School in Mulund West can have a final piece due in the same fortnight as a Physics test, and the piece that gets rushed is always the writing one, because it feels finishable at 11pm. February is study leave and the last point at which anything structural can change; by March the work is consolidation and timing practice only.

Geography changes the calendar too. Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School in Thane and D.Y. Patil International School in Nerul sit in places where a 6.30pm start is realistic for a local tutor and impossible for one travelling from the island. Utpal Shanghvi Global School and Billabong High International School families in the Western Suburbs often hold a Saturday morning slot through November instead, because weekday evenings in that corridor collapse once the exam season rush starts. Ganpati in late August or September takes out another week in most of the city, so the honest plan counts around thirty usable sessions between June and February, not fifty-two.

  • June start means the first month of sessions meets the monsoon
  • Late October and November bring internal assessments either side of Diwali
  • December and January stack coursework deadlines against second mocks
  • February study leave is the last point for structural change
  • Ganpati and Diwali remove weeks, so plan around thirty usable sessions

Home classes, online lessons or a hybrid: which actually works for 0500 in Mumbai?

Start with home classes, because this syllabus is handwritten, paper-based and taught through correction. A Cambridge IGCSE English First Language 0500 home tutor in Mumbai can put a past reading passage and a pen in front of your child, watch the first ten minutes of annotation happen, and interrupt the wrong habit while it is forming. That is the whole case, and it is the reason home tuition is our lead service rather than an upsell.

The honest costs of choosing an IGCSE home tutor in Mumbai are three. Your tutor pool shrinks to people who can realistically reach you, so a parent in Panvel has fewer English specialists to pick from than one in Khar. Your slot becomes close to fixed, because a tutor who crosses town cannot move a Tuesday to a Wednesday at short notice. And heavy monsoon weeks will cost you sessions that have to be made up on a Saturday. Fees reflect travel distance and session length, which is why IGCSE home tuition in Mumbai is quoted per family rather than from a published rate card.

An IGCSE online tutor in Mumbai solves the pool problem and nothing else as well. You can work with a specialist who has marked hundreds of scripts and lives nowhere near you, reschedule without guilt, and get a recording of the explanation. The trade-offs are real: annotating a shared document is clumsier than a pencil, a fifteen-year-old doing forty minutes of composition on a video call drifts in a way you cannot see from the next room, and reading aloud, which is one of the best diagnostics for sentence control, almost never happens willingly on screen.

The arrangement most of our 0500 families settle into is hybrid, and it is not a compromise. The weekly session happens at home with paper, where the reading paper and the composition work get done. A short online check-in two days before a deadline covers the redraft: the student shares the document, the tutor marks three things and leaves. An IGCSE private tutor Mumbai parents retain for two years will usually suggest this themselves by the second term, because it protects the long session from being eaten by last-minute panic.

  • Home classes suit a handwritten, paper-based syllabus taught by correction
  • Home matching shrinks the tutor pool and near-fixes your weekly slot
  • Online widens the pool but weakens annotation and reading aloud
  • Hybrid keeps paper work at home and redraft checks on screen
  • Monsoon weeks cost sessions that need a Saturday to recover

How a tutor is checked before they ring your doorbell

Every tutor we put in front of a family has had four things checked: a government photo identity document, the degree they claim, the schools or centres where they taught English, and a subject screen. The subject screen is the one that matters for this syllabus. We give the tutor a real student answer on a reading passage and ask them to mark it and justify the marks. A candidate who cannot explain why a summary answer lost reading-for-ideas marks does not reach your shortlist, however good the resume reads.

Before a Cambridge IGCSE English First Language 0500 home tutor in Mumbai starts a standing slot, we also share their identity details with you for your society's gate register, so the same person can be cleared once rather than argued through the gate every Tuesday. In most buildings a photocopy of the identity document and a resident instruction to the security desk is all it takes; in older South Mumbai buildings with a single lift and a manual register it is worth a five-minute conversation with the secretary in week one.

Then there is what you should check yourself, which no platform can do for you. Ask the tutor to bring the last student script they marked, with the name removed, and talk you through two marking decisions. Ask them the difference between a reading-for-ideas mark and a mark for analysing a writer's effects; a specialist answers that in one sentence. Ask how they would handle a student who writes fluently and still loses composition marks. And be wary of anyone who offers a guaranteed grade, because IB Gram does not guarantee grades and no teacher who understands this syllabus will promise a number.

Watch the first session for two signals that matter more than credentials. Does the tutor spend the first fifteen minutes finding out what the student can already do, or start delivering? And does work come back marked? A tutor who sets a composition and returns it the following week with corrections in pen is teaching; one who reads it aloud and says it was good is filling an hour. You are allowed to end an arrangement after one session, and we would rather you did that than spend a term being polite.

  • Identity document, degree and teaching history checked before any shortlist
  • A subject screen: mark a real student script and justify the marks
  • Tutor identity shared for your society gate register before week one
  • Ask to see the last script they marked, with the name removed
  • Marked work returning each week is the signal that teaching is happening

What a 0500 home tutor can do at your table that a screen cannot

The exam is handwritten under a clock, and almost everything that goes wrong in it is physical. A student reads the passage once instead of twice. She starts writing the summary before she has numbered the points. Her hand tightens at minute thirty-five and the sentences shorten into fragments. Her composition runs to three pages because she cannot tell when a description has finished. A home tutor for English First Language (0500) Mumbai parents can keep for two years sees all four of those with their own eyes in the first fortnight, in a way no shared screen reveals.

Timing practice is the clearest example. Run a reading paper at your dining table with a real clock and a tutor sitting at ninety degrees, not opposite, and you learn where the minutes actually go. Most students lose them at the start, on the comprehension questions they could answer in half the time, and then rush the summary that carries the reading-for-ideas marks. Fixing that means being interrupted at minute twelve and told to move on, out loud, repeatedly, until the student does it without being told. Over video the interruption lands a half-second late and gets ignored.

Reading aloud is the second thing the dining table gets for free. A fifteen-year-old will read a paragraph of her own composition aloud at home, hear the sentence that runs on for four lines, and fix it herself. On a call with the family audible in the background she will decline, and the tutor loses the fastest route to sentence control there is. The same goes for the handwriting conversation, which sounds trivial until an examiner cannot read the word your child chose so carefully.

The price of all this is travel, and it should be stated plainly rather than buried. A tutor coming from Ghatkopar to Powai in the evening peak gives up an hour of her day to teach yours, and a tutor crossing Ghodbunder Road to Kasarvadavali gives up more. That is why the slot has to be fixed, why fees reflect distance, and why we match within a corridor instead of sending the most impressive profile on the list across the city. A brilliant tutor who resents the journey by October is worse for your child than a good tutor who lives fifteen minutes away.

  • Four failures are physical: one read, no numbering, hand cramp, no ending
  • A timed reading paper at your table shows where minutes are lost
  • Interruption at minute twelve only works face to face, not on video
  • Reading a composition aloud at home fixes run-on sentences fastest
  • Travel is the real cost, so corridor matching beats the best profile

What should progress look like after four weeks of 0500 home lessons?

At four weeks you should see habits, not grades. The passage comes back annotated instead of clean. The summary gets planned in the margin before it gets written. A composition opening no longer starts with the weather or an alarm clock. If none of that has changed after six sessions, something is wrong with the match or the slot, and the conversation is due now rather than in February.

At one term the marks start to move, and they move unevenly. Comprehension and summary scores usually improve first, because they respond to method. Language-effect answers follow, because specificity has to be built word by word. Composition is the slowest, because it depends on how much the student has read in her life, and eight weeks of tutoring cannot replace five years of not reading. Over one full exam cycle, what a good arrangement delivers is a mock grade that is defensible and a student who knows what each paper is asking her to do. IB Gram does not guarantee grades, and anyone quoting you an outcome for a specific child in a specific May is guessing.

IGCSE tuition fees in Mumbai depend on five things, and you should be told which of them is driving your number: the board and level, how scarce that subject specialism is in your corridor, how far the tutor travels to reach you, how long each session runs, and whether the tutor takes one student or a sibling pair. English First Language specialists who mark against the current syllabus are scarcer in Navi Mumbai and Thane than in the Western Suburbs, and distance does the rest. Ask what the quote assumes about travel before you compare two numbers.

When a tutor is not working out, say so in one message. Three signs are worth acting on: no marked work has come back for three weeks, the session has quietly become homework supervision, and your child has stopped talking about it. We re-shortlist from the same corridor, the next trial session runs on the same terms as the first, and you do not start the search again from scratch. Changing a tutor in week six is a normal thing that happens on a minority of matches; discovering in February that nothing changed is the expensive version.

  • Four weeks: annotation, margin planning and better openings, not grades
  • One term: comprehension and summary move first, composition last
  • One cycle: a defensible mock grade and a student who knows each paper
  • Fees depend on board, scarcity, travel distance, session length and group size
  • Three weeks without marked work is the signal to ask for a change

What to have ready for the first home lesson in Mumbai

Parents who end up typing IGCSE tutors near me Mumbai into a phone at 11pm are usually one bad mock away from acting, so here is the short version of what makes a first session useful rather than a meeting. Clear the dining table completely. Put a chair at ninety degrees to your child's, not opposite, because correction over a shared page needs both people reading the same way up. Get the light and the fan sorted before the tutor arrives, and send the phone to another room.

Have three documents out: the last two pieces of English work with the teacher's marks on them, the school's assessment calendar if you have it, and the current Cambridge syllabus page for the papers your child is entered for. The marks matter more than the grades. A comment saying the response does not address the question asked tells a tutor more about where to start than a percentage does.

Send the arrival instructions with the booking, not on the day. The tower number, the flat, which lift reaches it, whether the gate needs a pre-registered visitor entry, and a landmark that works for a driver who has never been to your lane. In Thane and Navi Mumbai add the node and the nearest junction; in South Mumbai add which side of the building the entrance is on. Five lines saves fifteen minutes of the first session.

The first hour itself is diagnostic, not teaching. Expect a timed read of one unfamiliar passage, a short summary task, three questions about what your child reads outside school, and a plan for the first four weeks that names the component being attacked first. At the end, ask the tutor one question: what will be different in a month. An IGCSE tutor Mumbai families keep for two years answers that specifically, and then does it.

  • Clear the table, seat the tutor at ninety degrees, remove the phone
  • Have the last two marked pieces and the assessment calendar ready
  • Send tower, flat, lift and gate instructions with the booking
  • First hour is diagnostic: timed read, summary task, reading habits
  • Ask what will be different in a month and expect a specific answer
FAQs

Mumbai tutoring — questions parents ask

What do IGCSE tuition fees in Mumbai depend on for English First Language?+

Fees depend on five things and no honest quote hides them: the board and level, how scarce that subject specialism is in your corridor, how far the tutor travels to you, how long each session runs, and whether it is one student or a sibling pair. English First Language specialists who mark to the current syllabus are thinner on the ground in Panvel or Kasarvadavali than in Khar, and travel time is priced into the slot whether or not anyone says so. Ask what a quote assumes about distance and session length before comparing two numbers, because otherwise you are comparing different services.

Will a tutor travel to our building in Thane for a weekday evening slot?+

Yes, if the tutor is based in Thane, and that is how we match it. A tutor living near Thane station reaches Pokhran Road or Majiwada comfortably at 6.30pm and Kasarvadavali on Ghodbunder Road in closer to an hour during the evening peak, so the slot time is set around the road rather than around your preference. Pulling a tutor from Mulund across the Eastern Express Highway works for some families and collapses for others by the second month. If the only tutor who fits the subject lives far away, we will say so and suggest a Saturday slot or a hybrid arrangement instead of pretending the journey is fine.

What does our society gate need so the same home tutor comes in every week?+

Usually one resident instruction to the security desk and a copy of the tutor's identity document, which we share with you before the first session. Most Mumbai complexes will add a regular visitor to a standing entry list once a resident confirms the day and time, which stops the weekly argument at the gate and the twelve-minute wait that eats a session. In older South Mumbai buildings with a manual register and one lift, speak to the secretary in week one. In larger Powai, Thane and Navi Mumbai complexes, a pre-registered visitor entry through the society app is the fastest route.

Where in the home should the lesson actually happen?+

At a hard table with two chairs set at ninety degrees to each other, in a room with a door. The dining table beats a bedroom desk because two people can read the same page the same way up, which is the entire point of paper-based correction on this syllabus. Avoid the sofa and the television room, and avoid a spot where a younger sibling walks through every ten minutes. One good lamp matters more than the room size. If the flat is small, a cleared kitchen table with the phone in another room works perfectly well, and plenty of our best arrangements run exactly like that.

My daughter understands the passage but keeps losing summary marks. Why?+

Almost always because she is quoting rather than selecting. The reading-for-ideas marks on Paper 1 reward distinct points identified and reorganised in her own words, so copying a sentence that happens to contain a point scores less than naming the point cleanly, and repeating one idea in two phrasings scores once. The fix is mechanical and takes about three sessions: number the points in the margin, cover the passage, write from the numbers. A tutor sitting at the table can watch whether she actually covers the passage, which is the step every student skips when nobody is looking.

Is online as good as home tuition for Paper 2 directed writing?+

For redrafting it is close, and for the first teaching of it, no. Directed writing needs the student to see a text marked up in pen and to rewrite the same paragraph in a different register two or three times while someone watches which choices she reaches for. That is faster at a table. Where online genuinely wins is the short check two days before a deadline: she shares the document, the tutor marks three things and leaves. Most of our English First Language families run the weekly session at home on paper and keep a short online slot for exactly that redraft.

Is it too late to start 0500 home classes in January of Year 11?+

No, but the honest plan changes shape. With four or five months left, a tutor should pick two components and leave the rest alone: usually the summary task and the directed writing, because both respond to method rather than to years of reading. Composition improves slowest and is the wrong thing to chase in January. Expect timing drills, marked work every week, and a clear statement of what is not being attempted. A tutor who tells you in January that everything can be rebuilt by May is selling, and the right answer names the two things that will be different.

What happens if we are not happy with the tutor after three sessions?+

Send one message and we re-shortlist from the same corridor. There is no case to argue and no fee negotiation to have first. The usual reasons a match fails are a slot that never settled, a tutor whose strength is literature rather than language work, or a personality mismatch with a teenager who has stopped talking in sessions. The next trial runs on the same terms as the first, in your home, with a past paper on the table. Changing a tutor in week six is ordinary; finding out in February that nothing moved is the costly version of the same problem.

Can one home tutor cover English First Language and a second IGCSE subject?+

Sometimes, and it is worth asking, because a single tutor crossing the city once instead of twice makes a standing slot cheaper and more durable. English and Global Perspectives or English and History pair naturally. English and Physics almost never does, and a tutor who claims both at examination standard deserves a harder subject screen. If you need two subjects we will usually propose two specialists in the same corridor on different evenings, or one home slot and one online slot, rather than stretch a good English teacher into a subject she last studied at school.

How many sessions a week does English First Language (0500) really need?+

One long session a week plus independent work is enough for most Year 9 and Year 10 students, and two shorter ones suit Year 11. Reading and writing improve through repetition between lessons, not inside them, so a second weekly visit with no work done in the gap achieves little. What matters more than frequency is that the same slot survives the term. Two sessions a week that collapse in November because the tutor is crossing the Western Express Highway twice are worth less than one that still happens in February.

What if a session is missed because of heavy rain or a Peddar Road jam?+

Treat it as expected, not exceptional, and agree the make-up rule in week one. Between June and September several sessions will be lost to water on the road, and in the evening peak the Peddar Road and Haji Ali signals or the JVLR crawl into Powai can delay a tutor by half an hour. Our tutors switch a washed-out home session to a same-evening online slot, which keeps the rhythm and the marked work moving. Build a Saturday morning into the plan as the recovery slot and you will finish the year roughly where the plan said you would.

Find your Mumbai tutor

Send one message with your address, your child's school and the two evenings you can protect. You will get two or three verified English First Language tutors who can reach your building, with their Cambridge teaching background and the slots they can hold. Pick one, meet them at your table with a past paper, and decide after that session. If the fit is wrong, say so and we re-shortlist from the same corridor.
