Tamil Nadu's State Board runs the Class 10 SSLC and the Class 12 Higher Secondary exams in March and April, with Class 11 now also examined at board level. The IB and IGCSE ask for different habits. A Diploma grade combines external papers with school-marked coursework that is moderated; the MYP uses criteria and projects. IGCSE keeps final papers but writes them with application and data in mind, and offers Core and Extended tiers for many subjects.

A future doctor sitting NEET-UG needs the science trio plus English in school, and a future engineer sitting JEE needs Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Pick those subjects when the Diploma begins, with Higher Level where the school permits, since swapping later is rarely possible.
