IB and IGCSE Tutors and Private Home Tuition in Lunawada

Private tuition at home for IB and IGCSE students in Lunawada is delivered online: a live lesson at your own desk, because tutors do not visit homes outside Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The town is a district headquarters without a railway, its schools follow the Gujarat Board and CBSE, and the closest international campuses lie in Vadodara and Ahmedabad, so a specialist on screen saves a long journey.

  • Each tutor is chosen for one IB subject and level, or one IGCSE board, code and tier
  • All Lunawada teaching is online; tutor visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • A free opening lesson using a real topic from your child's syllabus
  • No connection to any school, the IB, Cambridge or Pearson

IB & IGCSE in Lunawada

IB and IGCSE tutoring for the old Rana capital of Mahisagar, where no school teaches either syllabus

Lunawada has been a capital since 1434, when Rana Bhimsinghji moved his seat to the far bank of the Mahi, and since 2013 it has headquartered Mahisagar district. The 2011 census counted 36,954 people in the town. No school here could be confirmed as teaching the IB or an IGCSE, so IB and IGCSE tutors in Lunawada mean a teacher on a screen, not a classroom down the road.

The families who ask are few but real: parents with a child at a Vadodara or Ahmedabad campus, households whose children sit some IGCSE papers privately, and those thinking of a move at Class 9 or Class 11. As in much of central Gujarat, some have relatives in the UK, North America or East Africa, which makes an internationally recognised certificate easy to value.

A lesson is live and one to one, on Indian Standard Time, with a shared whiteboard on which a solved problem or a marked paragraph appears for both sides. Tutors are specialists based elsewhere in India; no bench of Lunawada teachers has recently taught either syllabus, so the real choice is between a generalist nearby and a specialist online. A short written note follows each session.

IB Gram is independent of every school and exam board named here. Tutors teach, mark and coach, and they never write or rework an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework, which has to be the student's own.

At a glance

  • PYP to Diploma support, plus Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • One-to-one live video lessons, timed in IST
  • A free trial lesson, then a written plan and a written rate
  • A written note after every session
  • No tutor visits in Lunawada; visits are for Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR only
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Lunawada school years

Since no school in Lunawada teaches an IB programme, the helpful way to read the four descriptions is by family situation: a child at a campus in another city, a student preparing alone for papers, or a household weighing a change of school.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-12

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised around units of inquiry instead of timetabled subjects and ends with an Exhibition in the final year. There is no external paper, so the tutor's task is to strengthen reading, writing and number sense so that inquiry has something to stand on.

Enquiries from Lunawada usually concern a younger child at a Vadodara or Ahmedabad campus, or a family that wants English reading kept alive at home alongside Gujarati.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Four criteria mark each subject, a Personal Project comes near the end and some schools add an external eAssessment. Students who can retell a topic often need help explaining and judging it.

Lunawada MYP students generally need help with science explanations and Language and Literature analysis, and with sizing a Personal Project to the time available.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects across three Higher and three Standard Level courses, with Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and CAS wrapped around them. Most subjects include an Internal Assessment and finish with papers in May.

Diploma students connected to Lunawada are enrolled elsewhere; Mathematics and the sciences lead the requests, followed by Economics and Business Management.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

A career-related study and a reflective project sit beside two or more Diploma courses, and Indian schools rarely offer it. The Diploma courses are taught like any other.

Hardly anyone in Mahisagar has heard of the CP; a family meeting it in Vadodara or Ahmedabad needs the Diploma courses inside it taught well.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

An IB subject at Higher Level is a different undertaking from the same subject at Standard Level, so every Lunawada request begins with subject and level. Only then do the exam sitting and the student's current grade narrow the shortlist.

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL / SL

Calculus, functions, vectors and proof for future engineers and scientists; the Higher Level final paper sets problems no worksheet has shown before.

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL / SL

Data, models and calculator skills for business, life-science and design routes, with an Exploration best started early.

IB Physics

HL / SL

From mechanics to fields, where precise reasoning and careful units score, and the investigation needs a method that survives a follow-up question.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Structure, energetics and equilibrium leading into organic mechanisms; calculations lose marks quietly.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Molecules to ecosystems, answered to the command term, with statistics honest enough to support the investigation.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Correct diagrams plus a real example; Gujarat's dairy, diamond and trading sectors supply plenty of cases.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory applied to a case, with a research project needing one real organisation such as a dairy co-operative, a trading house or a workshop.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case studies, fieldwork method and evaluation; the Mahi river and the Kadana dam offer a regional water-management example.

IB English A: Language and Literature

HL / SL

Unseen commentary, a comparative essay and an oral, each needing separate timed rehearsal, which suits students who think in Gujarati and write in English.

IB Gujarati A: Literature

HL / SL

Close reading in Gujarati where a school's self-taught language provision allows it, for students whose strongest written language it is.

IB Hindi B

HL / SL

Spoken confidence is often there already; accuracy, text types and structured writing decide the upper bands.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms and pseudocode, object thinking, and an IA program whose documentation and code match.

IB Environmental Systems and Societies

SL / HL

Systems reasoning applied to rivers, dams and farmland, all visible across Mahisagar.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

There is no syllabus to memorise; sessions are conversation for the essay and exhibition, testing a title from two sides.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

IGCSE is shorthand for two boards and several tiers, so every plan starts from the exact board, paper code and tier. A Lunawada student must also choose a sitting that an exam centre in a bigger city can register.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Top grades at Extended depend on algebra, graphs and trigonometry, with pace on the paper that bans calculators and clean working on the one that allows them.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Class 10

Calculus, functions and trigonometry arrive a year early, softening the landing in IB Mathematics Higher Level.

Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

The same mathematics in Edexcel's own voice; its question wording deserves its own practice.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Formula handling, graph reading and the alternative-to-practical paper, valuable without a school laboratory nearby.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, reaction types and organic chemistry, plus apparatus questions that reward practice over memory.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Cells, inheritance and ecology, where structured extended answers outscore long, loose ones.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Class 9-10

Diagrams first, then evaluation questions that ask a student to weigh both sides and commit to a judgement.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Class 9-10

Named concepts applied to the case paper; a family firm or a co-operative can make a useful mental model.

IGCSE English as a Second Language 0510

Class 9-10

A sensible companion subject for Gujarati-medium students wanting a recognised English certificate.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Class 9-10

Reading, directed writing and speaking for students already at ease in Hindi, counted on an international certificate.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Lunawada school timetables

Every Lunawada lesson is live on video with one tutor and one student. The three options below change the shape of the week, not the medium. Nobody will arrive at your door; home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

A standing lesson once a week

One session at the same hour each week: a topic taught, then a few exam-style questions to test it. Most Lunawada families begin here because it survives school and tuition timetables.

  • Fits Diploma, MYP and IGCSE subjects
  • Worked solutions on a shared whiteboard
  • The same tutor every week

Two sessions: teach, then test

One lesson to teach or repair a topic and a second to mark a timed paper line by line. It suits Higher Level and Extended tier, where technique counts as much as content.

  • One session for content, one for timed practice
  • Marked papers reviewed while the student watches
  • A written note after each session

A compact run before the exam window

A few weeks of closely spaced sessions before a Cambridge, Edexcel or IB sitting, aimed at gaps and timing, arranged to avoid Navratri nights and the Diwali break where possible.

  • Timed papers with prompt feedback
  • Weak topics tackled one at a time
  • Booking two weeks ahead keeps good hours free

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Lunawada

01

Does Lunawada have an IB or IGCSE school, and who is asking for one?

  • No IB or Cambridge or Edexcel school was confirmed in Lunawada or Godhra
  • Most enquiries come from families tied to a campus in another city
  • Students from Gujarati-medium classrooms need time to learn English terms
  • The papers and exam dates are the same as in any city in India

Not one we could confirm, in Lunawada or in Godhra, the nearest larger town. Schools across Mahisagar follow the Gujarat Board, with CBSE in a smaller number, and the district is young: it was formed on 26 January 2013 as Gujarat's 28th. The questions that reach us come from families tied to a campus in Vadodara or Ahmedabad, from students taking IGCSE papers privately, and from parents deciding before Class 9 or Class 11.

Mahisagar had 994,624 people at the 2011 census, with Scheduled Tribes at 35.21 percent, and nearly everyone speaks Gujarati. Around the old capital live traders, teachers, officials, doctors and farming families, and the Kadana dam and the Mahi river shape much of the district's economy. The wish for an international certificate tends to come from households with relatives or ambitions abroad.

The language question is practical. Most children learn in Gujarati or in English with Gujarati as a subject, while IB and IGCSE papers are in English only. A tutor who explains an idea in plain words first and attaches the English term second steadies a Gujarati-medium student far more than one who assumes the vocabulary is already there.

With no local school teaching either course, there is no local tutor who has taught it lately. The practical answer is a specialist elsewhere in India with recent experience of the exact paper code; the marking criteria, past papers and exam dates that student follows are identical to those used anywhere else.

02

What changes for a GSEB or CBSE student who moves to IB or IGCSE?

  • IB and IGCSE mark reasoning; GSEB leans on recall
  • Internal Assessments dwarf board-level internals
  • English scientific vocabulary is the quiet hurdle
  • CBSE and ICSE students usually find the step gentler

What earns marks changes first. GSEB papers, drawn from the state board's textbooks, reward accurate recall of the prescribed text, while IB and IGCSE examiners reward explaining why an answer holds. Excellent board marks do not protect a Lunawada student from losing credit on an IGCSE Extended question in an unfamiliar setting, or on an IB paper that asks for a method to be justified.

The next change is coursework. Practicals and internal marks in GSEB are a small slice; an IB Internal Assessment is a long investigation judged against published criteria, and several IGCSE subjects carry coursework too. Planning, drafting and revising a substantial piece are habits most board classrooms never ask for, and they have to be taught.

The third is language. A student who learned science in Gujarati knows the concepts but must learn the English terms, and every IB and IGCSE paper is in English. Two or three terms of deliberate vocabulary building, begun before the move, usually close the gap, and the effort helps in every subject.

CBSE and ICSE students find the step gentler because their content sits nearer to IGCSE. No board is better in general; the useful question is which one points towards the place the family hopes the child will reach.

03

How is the fee for IB or IGCSE tuition worked out for a Lunawada family?

  • Level, subject, session length, frequency and tutor experience set the fee
  • No travel cost is included because every lesson is online
  • The quote arrives in writing before you commit
  • You can ask for a different tutor at any point

It is worked out lesson by lesson, which is why no table of prices appears here. Five things move the figure: the programme and level, how scarce the subject is, how long each session runs, how many you book each week, and how recently the tutor has taught that exact syllabus. The quote reaches you in writing before you agree to start.

Higher Level Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, and IGCSE Additional Mathematics, tend to cost more because few people can teach them well. Standard Level Business Management or an early-year MYP subject tends to cost less. Address does not enter into it: nobody is paid to travel, and Lunawada is quoted what Vadodara or Mumbai would be.

Judge the hour, not just the number. Someone who has previously marked Extended-tier scripts, or guided an Internal Assessment from first idea to final draft, can settle in a single sitting what a newcomer might circle round for weeks. With nobody nearby to ask, that track record is what the money buys.

You begin with a free lesson. Then the tutor sets out a plan, the quote comes in writing, and a different tutor is yours for the asking if the fit is off.

04

Vadodara coaching, a local tutor or a specialist on screen: a fair comparison for Lunawada

  • City coaching serves GSEB and entrance exams, not IB or IGCSE
  • Home tutors seldom have recent IB or IGCSE classroom experience
  • Without a marker, coursework and long answers stay uncorrected
  • Online specialists combine syllabus knowledge with attention

Coaching in Godhra, Vadodara and Anand is built around GSEB Science, GUJCET, NEET and JEE, and it is an established industry. A batch for IGCSE Additional Mathematics or IB Chemistry at Higher Level would fail to fill, so it rarely runs, and with no railway into Lunawada the road journey takes much of an evening.

Home tutors in Lunawada are dependable for Gujarati-medium and CBSE subjects and often have years behind them. What none has is recent IB or IGCSE classroom experience, simply because no school in town runs either. A warm, capable generalist can steady a wobbly topic but cannot tell you what this year's examiners are rewarding.

Going it alone can work for IGCSE Mathematics, where past papers are plentiful. It breaks down on anything that needs a marker: Internal Assessments, the Extended Essay, long written answers. Without feedback, a wrong habit sets quickly.

An online specialist supplies the syllabus knowledge and the one-to-one attention in the same hour, and the drive disappears. The one real requirement is a dependable connection, so a mobile-data fallback is arranged first, and a lesson lost to a power cut is simply moved.

Navratri, the long Diwali break, Uttarayan and the monsoon: Lunawada's study calendar

  • Navratri evenings run late, so plan lessons earlier or move them
  • The Diwali vacation is the year's best catch-up window
  • Monsoon weeks can interrupt power and data
  • IB papers sit in May, with results in early July

Gujarat's calendar runs on festivals. Navratri brings nine nights of garba that stretch late into the evening, so lessons move earlier or to another day, and the Diwali vacation that follows is long, typically about three weeks, and is the best window of the year for an Internal Assessment, a revision block or a retake plan.

Uttarayan on 14 January pulls families onto rooftops for kite flying, and Holi in March is a major festival across the tribal belt of eastern Gujarat. Each brings a day or two of disruption that a tutor can plan around, provided the dates are shared at the start of the term.

The monsoon runs from June to September, and heavy spells can cut power and mobile data, so a spare slot each week is sensible. Summer is very hot, and May and early June exams are best prepared with lessons in the early morning or late evening.

Then come the examiners' own dates: GSEB papers in March, which matters to any sibling at home; Cambridge IGCSE in May-June and again in October-November; Edexcel, with a January window for some subjects; and IB Diploma papers in May, with results in early July.

Three doors after school: Gujarat, the rest of India and abroad

  • Vadodara, Anand and Godhra each have a state-level university
  • GUJCET and ACPC rules for other boards change every year
  • An AIU certificate is the usual first step for national routes
  • Predicted grades, not final results, drive most overseas offers

The first door is Gujarat itself. Vadodara has the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Anand has Sardar Patel University at Vallabh Vidyanagar with its engineering and management institutions, and Godhra has Shree Govind Guru University. Admission to engineering and pharmacy runs through GUJCET and ACPC counselling, whose rules for students from other boards are set each year, so read the brochure before choosing subjects.

Door two is the rest of India, and it starts with a document: the Association of Indian Universities issues an equivalence certificate that most admission bodies want to see. Beyond that, CUET-UG leads into central universities, NEET into medicine (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are all required), and JEE Main into engineering (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

Door three is overseas. Admissions offices there lean on the predicted grade a school sends in the autumn far more than on the May results. The UK wants IB points, or A-level grades, with named subjects; the US reads essays, activities and scores side by side; Germany and the Netherlands check prerequisite subjects. Relatives abroad may already have narrowed the choice for a Lunawada student.

Our tutors teach the subjects; they do not counsel or submit applications. If a target course asks for Mathematics at Higher Level, you will be told plainly, and the plan will be built around it.

07

IB Mathematics and the sciences across two Diploma years, season by season

  • Choose AA or AI early; it shapes the IA and the university path
  • Use the Diwali break for investigation design and data
  • Schedule mocks around Uttarayan and the March board exams
  • Current-syllabus experience matters more than proximity

In the first Diploma year the job is foundations and a decision. Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation should be settled early, because the first leads towards calculus, proof and complex numbers for engineers and economists, the second towards data, modelling and technology for commerce and life sciences. Either carries an Exploration worth about a fifth of the grade, and its topic should be chosen within the first months.

The Diwali vacation of the first year is when science investigations can be planned properly, since it leaves weeks for a design, a trial run and real data. Physics and Chemistry reward tidy algebra and honest units, while Biology rewards answering the command term asked. With no IB laboratory to borrow, pick a question that can be tested with materials within reach.

The second year runs to a pattern: drafts of every Internal Assessment by the autumn break, mock papers around Uttarayan, and timed-paper practice through the spring while the March board exams quiet the house. Each stage has a natural place for a tutor, and in a town with no IB school the gap would otherwise go unfilled.

No school can lend you a person who has recently taught the exact course, but a specialist online can: worked solutions build up on the shared board while the student watches, and timed answers come back marked on the same day.

08

IGCSE in three decisions: tier, board and sitting

  • Core earns C to G; Extended earns A* to E
  • Choose the tutor by the board your child will sit
  • Exam-centre entry often closes months ahead
  • Extended Mathematics plus 0606 is the smoother road to AA Higher Level

Start with the tier. Cambridge Core candidates top out at grade C, while Extended candidates can earn anything from A* to E, so a student who may later take IB Mathematics or a Higher Level science should plan on Extended in Mathematics and the sciences, and settle it before the Class 10 mock round.

The second is the board. Cambridge is the more common choice in India, and its Mathematics 0580 has Core and Extended papers with and without a calculator. Edexcel's International GCSE Mathematics A, code 4MA1, asks the same mathematics in a different voice across Foundation and Higher tiers. Choose a tutor who has worked from the papers of the board your child will actually sit.

The third is the sitting. Cambridge runs in May-June and October-November, Edexcel adds January for some subjects, and an exam centre in a larger city must accept the entry, often months ahead. Private candidates have unusual freedom in subject choice as well, and Additional Mathematics 0606 is a telling extra for a student who enjoys Mathematics.

For Gujarati-medium students, English as a Second Language 0510 is a practical companion subject, and the sciences can be taught with each English term introduced beside the idea. Choosing a sitting that avoids Navratri and the March board exams at home makes the preparation calmer.

Where we tutor

Lunawada localities and neighbouring towns we work with online

Lessons are online, so these places offer context rather than travel times: which part of the old capital a household sits in, which taluka town it shops in, and where mobile data does the work of broadband.

Old Lunawada and the market lanes

The heart of the former Rana capital, with long-settled trading families who often fit lessons in after the shops close.

The Mahi river side

Neighbourhoods near the river, on the bank to which Rana Bhimsinghji moved his capital in 1434; monsoon evenings here call for a spare weekly slot.

Bus stand and the Godhra road

The main link to Godhra and Vadodara, used by students and office staff; the old Godhra-Lunawada narrow-gauge railway closed in 2002, so roads carry everything now.

Government and district offices area

Households of officials and teachers posted to the district headquarters, who often know exactly which curriculum they want for a child.

Kaleshwari

A temple-and-heritage locality with Pandava-linked sites and old water structures; weekend visitors can make Sunday evenings unpredictable.

Kadana

The taluka town by the Kadana dam on the Mahi, where families look to Lunawada and Godhra for schooling.

Santrampur

A taluka town to the north in a district where Scheduled Tribes are roughly a third of the population; mobile data is the usual connection.

Balasinor

A former princely-state town to the west, closer to Kheda and Nadiad, whose families sometimes compare Lunawada and Vadodara options.

Virpur and Khanpur

Smaller taluka towns of the district, where broadband varies and a hotspot fallback is agreed before lessons begin.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Lunawada

Lunawada and Mahisagar district

Local schooling follows the Gujarat Board and CBSE. No IB or Cambridge or Edexcel classroom turned up, which leaves online study, private candidacy or a campus in another city.

    Nearby: Godhra

The closest larger town and home to Shree Govind Guru University; we could not confirm an IB or IGCSE school there either.

      Nearby: Vadodara

The usual first look for central Gujarat families, a long drive away, with boarding or relocation as the practical routes.

      • Navrachana International School
      • VIBGYOR High School, Padra Road

      Nearby: Ahmedabad

Gujarat's largest international-school cluster, further still, considered mainly by families planning a move.

      • Calorx Olive International School
      • Mahatma Gandhi International School

We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school in Lunawada or in Godhra, so none is named as local. The schools shown under other cities are places some families look at, and IB Gram has no link to any of them, to the IB, to Cambridge or to Pearson.

      How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

      1. 01

        Share the basics

Tell us the board or programme, subject, level, exam date and the evenings that suit you.

      2. 02

        Receive a matched shortlist

We look for someone with recent teaching of that exact course, since there is no local specialist to measure against.

      3. 03

        Take the trial lesson

One genuine lesson on a topic from your child's own syllabus, with no fee and no obligation.

      4. 04

        Review the plan and quote

Topics, pace and rate laid out in writing before you agree to start.

      5. 05

Continue, check in, change if needed

Weekly lessons with notes, a check-in every few weeks, and a swap of tutor whenever it is needed.

      Why families choose us

What Lunawada parents tell us matters most

      Exact-syllabus matching

Shortlists come from the IB subject and level, or the IGCSE code and tier, never from a vague label.

National reach for a small town

Lunawada has no IB or IGCSE classroom, so online lessons replace an empty local list with specialists from across India.

      See it before you commit

A free first lesson lets your child meet the tutor and the material together.

      Integrity is not negotiable

Tutors can challenge reasoning and clarify criteria, yet the wording of graded work always stays the student's.

      Progress you can read

A brief written note after each session and a review every few weeks keep parents informed.

      Independent and transparent

No school or board ties, rates quoted in writing, tutors changed without fuss.

      Student and parent reviews

What students and parents say about working with IB Gram

      Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Lunawada: your questions answered

Is there an IB school in Lunawada, Godhra or elsewhere in Mahisagar?+

None that we could confirm. Schools across the district follow the Gujarat Board or CBSE, and nothing turned up teaching the Diploma, MYP or PYP. Families wanting the IB usually keep a programme going from a Vadodara or Ahmedabad campus, or plan a move. For IB and IGCSE tutors in Lunawada, we pair a specialist with the exact subject and level.

Is there a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE school nearby?+

Nothing we could confirm in Lunawada or Godhra. Some families enter IGCSE papers as private candidates through an approved exam centre in a bigger city; others move schools before Class 9. In both cases lessons follow the board, paper code and tier, because Cambridge and Edexcel word their questions differently.

Will a tutor visit our home in Lunawada?+

No. Tutors go to homes only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR; in Lunawada everything is online. You get one tutor and one student on video, plus a shared whiteboard where the desk would be. Your child still studies from home, which is why people search for home tuition, but the teacher arrives by screen.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Lunawada?+

It is set per lesson, and there is no printed price list. What matters is the subject, the level, the session length, how often you meet and how recently the tutor taught that exact syllabus. A written quote arrives before you begin. Rare courses, like Higher Level sciences, cost more, while your address does not matter.

Our child studies in Gujarati medium. Will English papers be too hard?+

Not if the vocabulary is built steadily. Most Gujarati-medium students already understand the ideas; what is new is the English terms and the style of written answers. Tell us the medium at the start and the tutor will introduce each term beside its concept over a few terms.

Can a coaching class in Godhra or Vadodara do the same job?+

Seldom. Coaching in those cities is designed for GSEB Science and entrance tests such as GUJCET, NEET and JEE, so an IB or IGCSE batch hardly ever runs. The trip from Lunawada, which has had no railway since 2002, also eats an evening. A live one-to-one lesson on your child's own syllabus sidesteps both.

Can my child take IGCSE subjects privately while staying in a GSEB school?+

Frequently, yes, though it needs planning. A single IGCSE subject such as Mathematics or Chemistry can be sat through an authorised exam centre alongside GSEB classes, but the nearest centre is normally in another city and its entry deadline falls months before the paper. Confirm the series and fees first; the lesson plan works backwards from that date.

Can the IB Diploma be taken privately?+

Not by itself. The Diploma is offered only through IB World Schools, so the school comes first and the tutor second. Once your child is enrolled, whether in a classroom or through a distance arrangement, a tutor can coach any Higher or Standard Level subject in parallel with the school's teaching.

How do Navratri and the Diwali vacation affect lessons?+

Navratri nights run late, so we move lessons earlier in the evening or to another day. The Diwali vacation of about three weeks is better used: it suits Internal Assessment data collection, a revision block or a retake plan. Tell us the dates at the start of term and the schedule is built around them.

Will the tutor write my child's Internal Assessment?+

No, and that is a fixed rule. A tutor may clarify the criteria, discuss research questions, talk through a data plan and comment on a draft. Writing the work, choosing the analysis and handing it in remain the student's job; ghost-writing or rewriting is something our tutors do not do.

Do you teach younger children in MYP and PYP?+

We do. For MYP the focus is criterion-based writing in the sciences and language and literature, with the Personal Project kept on schedule. Younger PYP children have short lessons in reading, writing and number sense, with research skills added ahead of the Exhibition. All of it is live, online and one to one.

Do IB and IGCSE results qualify for GUJCET, NEET or JEE?+

Each has its own entry conditions for students outside the Gujarat Board, typically an AIU equivalence certificate plus certain subjects at certain levels, and they are revised regularly. Read the newest brochure before finalising subjects. Tutors prepare subject knowledge; they do not handle counselling or application forms.

What if power or internet fails mid-lesson?+

We rebook the session. Where a family depends on mobile data, as many villages across Mahisagar do, we agree a fallback before lessons start. Tutors also share the day's worked solutions, so a cut-off class still leaves notes to study from.

How do we start, and is the first lesson really free?+

Message us the essentials: board or programme, subject and level, the sitting ahead and two or three evenings that work. A suitable tutor replies with trial times. The trial is a genuine lesson on a topic from your child's syllabus and costs nothing. Afterwards you get a short plan and a written rate, and you choose whether to go on.

What if the tutor is not right for my child?+

Tell us, and another tutor is lined up. Progress is reviewed every few weeks, and that review is often when a mismatch surfaces. Nothing locks you in, and you can stop whenever you choose.

Is IB Gram connected to any school or exam board?+

None. IB Gram works on its own, with no partnership, contract or endorsement from any school, from the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge or Pearson. Any school named on this page is there to show the options families consider, nothing more.
