IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Lingsugur

Looking for home tuition in Lingsugur for the IB or an IGCSE course? Your child studies at a desk at home while a subject specialist teaches live over video from elsewhere in India. Tutors do not travel to Lingsugur, because home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, but every lesson is private, scheduled around your evenings and built on the exact syllabus code your child sits. With no IB or Cambridge school confirmed anywhere in the taluk, a well-matched tutor is often the only specialist within reach.

  • No IB or Cambridge school is confirmed in the taluk, so every match starts from the exact subject, level and exam series, never from a postcode
  • Lessons run live on video; nobody travels to Lingsugur, and home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • The first lesson is free, and the rate is given in writing before you decide anything
  • A short written note follows each class, so parents see what was covered without sitting in the room
  • Independent of every school, every exam board and the IB itself

IB & IGCSE in Lingsugur

Private IB and IGCSE lessons for a student in a taluk town: how it works from Lingsugur

A Lingsugur student who joins us gets a private lesson rather than a seat in a batch. The tutor is chosen for the course on the timetable: IB Chemistry at Higher Level, Cambridge Mathematics 0580 at Extended tier, or Pearson Edexcel Physics 4PH1. Each class runs live on video with a shared whiteboard, so a wrong step is caught while the pen is still moving instead of next week. It is home tuition in the plain sense of the words, with a single difference: the teacher is on the screen, so the choice of teacher is not limited to whoever lives in town.

The setting deserves plain talk. Lingsugur is a taluk town of about 35,000 people (2011 census) in the Raichur Doab, the stretch of land between the Krishna and the Tungabhadra. Local schools teach the Karnataka State Board syllabus or CBSE, and the Raichur listing we checked showed no IB or Cambridge school at all. The nearest campuses we can confirm sit in Hyderabad, roughly 300 km by road, and in Bengaluru, further still. A family asking about IB and IGCSE tutors in Lingsugur is therefore doing something deliberate.

Their reasons differ. One household has a teenager boarding at an international school in Hyderabad or Bengaluru and wants a second pair of eyes during the long breaks at home. Another has a parent posted to the taluk, perhaps at the Hutti gold mine, a government office or the hospital, and carries an earlier school's curriculum along. A third has enrolled a child with an online international school but wants a live teacher. A fourth is thinking of a move and wants a Class 8 student to try IGCSE-style work before committing to a new city.

The syllabus itself does not shrink for a small town. The May Diploma papers and the Cambridge and Edexcel series are identical wherever they are sat. What differs is access to someone who has taught the specification recently, and that is the gap we fill. IB Gram is independent of the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and every school, and tutors coach, explain and mark but never write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays or Theory of Knowledge essays for a student.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Lingsugur school years

No Lingsugur child meets these programmes in a local classroom, so the notes below say what tutoring does for each stage rather than what a school would do. Typically the child arrives from Kannada-medium or English-medium State Board teaching, and the first job is learning how international papers phrase their questions.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

PYP is organised around themes rather than timetabled subjects and ends with a pupil-led Exhibition. Nothing is externally examined, so tutoring is gentle: daily reading in English, confidence with number, and the habit of asking a question and following it through.

In Lingsugur the question usually comes from a family expecting to move to a city with a PYP school. Where Kannada, Urdu or Telugu is the language at home, ten minutes of reading aloud in English each day does more good than extra worksheets.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

MYP marks each subject against four published criteria, asks every student for a Personal Project in the final year, and in some schools closes with on-screen eAssessment. Writing a line of reasoning in full sentences is the skill that moves marks, and short-answer classrooms seldom practise it.

A child coming from State Board teaching meets criterion-based writing for the first time here. In science and Individuals and Societies we spend early sessions on command terms such as 'justify' and 'evaluate', because the same question words return in every paper.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, run beside Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Internal assessments count for roughly a fifth to a third of a subject's mark, and the main written session falls in May.

The Diploma can only be taken through an authorised IB World School, and none lies near Lingsugur. A DP student from this belt is therefore a boarder or part of a relocated family, and tutoring covers the gap between term-time lessons and the May papers.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

The Career-related Programme combines at least two Diploma courses with a career-related study, a reflective project and language development. Few schools in India run it.

Questions about CP are unlikely from a town this size. If a family does ask, we look at which Diploma courses sit inside the student's package and coach those.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Naming a subject is only half the brief. IB Mathematics splits into Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, each at Higher or Standard Level, and a tutor who teaches one fluently may never have taught the other. For a Lingsugur family with nobody nearby to ask, we settle subject, level and sitting before any tutor name is suggested.

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL / SL

Proof, calculus and long unfamiliar problems drive this course. HL Paper 3 pays the student who has met problems with no template before, and the Exploration goes more smoothly when its topic is chosen early in the second year.

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL / SL

Data, modelling and fluent graphing-calculator work carry the course. The Exploration scores best when real data can be collected or found, so we help pick a question the numbers can actually answer.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Fast, accurate use of the data booklet, honest handling of uncertainties and clear experimental-design answers matter more than extra topics. Students from theory-heavy State Board teaching usually need most help on the practical-style questions.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Mole arithmetic, bonding and organic reaction pathways form the spine. The Scientific Investigation is marked partly on whether a stranger could repeat it, which is worth planning months ahead.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Marks follow the command term in the question, so 'outline' and 'discuss' need different answers. A basic statistics test for the investigation is easy to learn and often skipped.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Neat, labelled diagrams linked to something happening now beat long theory. HL students also need comfort with the quantitative questions in Paper 3.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Marks go to answers that apply a concept to the company named in the case study. The internal assessment needs a real organisation willing to share information, so we raise that early.

IB English A: Language and Literature

HL / SL

Unseen-text analysis, a comparative essay and a spoken commentary each test a different skill. For students who think in Kannada or Urdu first, fluency and structure get most attention.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms on paper sit beside a working program for the internal assessment. Revision has to cover both, since code that runs does not rescue weak theory answers.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Each approach calls for named studies, correctly summarised and evaluated. One tight argument scores better than a scatter of half-remembered experiments.

IB Environmental Systems and Societies

SL / HL

Irrigation, river basins and cropping land are case studies close to home in the Raichur Doab, and answers that say where a system fails earn more than those that only describe it.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Named case studies carry weight, and fieldwork must use a method that would survive a second look. Evaluative wording beats description every time.

IB History

HL / SL

Source evaluation in Paper 1 and a sustained argument in Paper 2 reward wide reading. The Maski edict, which tied the title Devanampiya Piyadasi to Ashoka, shows how historians justify an identification.

IB Hindi B

SL / HL

Reading unfamiliar text types quickly and holding an unrehearsed spoken conversation matter more than a long word list. It suits students who already study Hindi as a third language.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

TOK works as a discussion rather than a lecture. Students argue a prescribed title from an angle they would not pick alone, and the exhibition commentary gets tested the same way.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

The first IGCSE decision is tier: Core or Extended at Cambridge, Foundation or Higher at Pearson Edexcel. After that, the school's chosen series sets the timetable, since Cambridge runs May-June and October-November sittings (with a March series for some subjects in India) and Edexcel adds January. Tutoring is planned backwards from whichever sitting a Lingsugur student is actually entered for.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580 / 4MA1

Core, Extended / Foundation, Higher

A no-calculator paper rewards written method, and a correct answer with no working loses the method marks attached to it. Tier is settled by a diagnostic lesson, not by guesswork.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 9-10

Calculus, identities and vectors arrive here a year ahead of most Indian syllabuses, which makes the course a strong run-up to IB Analysis and Approaches or to Class 11 mathematics.

IGCSE Physics 0625 / 4PH1

Core, Extended / Foundation, Higher

Rearranging an equation under time pressure, and reasoning through the alternative-to-practical paper without touching apparatus, are the two skills that most need rehearsal.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620 / 4CH1

Core, Extended / Foundation, Higher

Mole calculations and organic chemistry hold much of the mark scheme. Qualitative analysis tests are learned as a table and recalled under pressure, so we drill them early.

IGCSE Biology 0610 / 4BI1

Core, Extended / Foundation, Higher

Genetics and enzymes recur in nearly every series, and extended answers reward a set structure of claim, evidence and link.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Trace tables and pseudocode are learned by working unfamiliar examples, and the course also expects real programming practice.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Directed writing and summary are teachable skills, and timed reading of passages the student has never met builds them faster than rereading notes.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Diagrams are marked from the first question, and evaluation in the longer answers is where most marks are won or lost.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

An answer that applies theory to the business named in the case beats a polished answer that could describe any firm.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Grade 9-10

Reading, writing and a short spoken component. Useful for families who want a strong language grade beside science and mathematics.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Lingsugur school timetables

Three formats, all live, all online, all on IST. They differ in rhythm rather than quality: a steady weekly slot, a term plan with written reviews, or a short intensive before an exam. Nobody comes to the house in Lingsugur, because tutor visits to homes exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

Weekly private lesson on a laptop at home

One tutor, one student, the same evening each week, with a whiteboard both can write on. Most Lingsugur families begin here, and it suits a student who wants a reliable weekly check on understanding.

  • A tutor who has taught your exact course
  • Methods written out live, not just described
  • The same slot each week, moved when school events require
  • A laptop, headphones and a steady connection are all you need

Term plan with a written note after every class

A fixed weekly slot for the term, a short note after every session and a fuller review every few weeks, so a parent can watch the plan move without sitting in the room.

  • A note after each lesson
  • A review every few weeks
  • Well suited to PYP and MYP-age children
  • A second weekly slot added when mocks approach

Intensive blocks before mocks and the May or June papers

Two to four sessions a week for a few weeks, built round timed past papers and quick marking feedback. Blocks are timed to avoid the hottest April afternoons and the Dasara break.

  • Past papers marked to the real mark scheme
  • Feedback returned within a couple of days
  • Most useful two to three weeks before the first paper
  • Easy to stop when the exams are over

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Lingsugur

01

Is there an IB or IGCSE school in or near Lingsugur?

No. We could not confirm a school in Lingsugur, or elsewhere in the Raichur listings we checked, that teaches the IB or a Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE course. The only school that listing showed was a CBSE one. The nearest campuses we can verify are in Hyderabad, about 300 km by road, and in Bengaluru, roughly 500 km away, which is why the question here is a plan for the child and not a choice between local schools.

That puts Lingsugur families in a different position from a Hyderabad parent. Some send a teenager to board in Hyderabad or Bengaluru. Some move the household when a job allows it. Some enrol the child with an online international school and stay put. Each plan produces a student who needs a subject specialist at the far end of a screen, between term-time classes, during long breaks or in place of a local teacher who has never seen the specification.

A fair number of enquiries from towns like this are about timing more than place. A child in Class 7 or 8 in a Kannada-medium school may be looking at IGCSE from Class 9 in another city. A few months of private classes in English-language mathematics and science before the move make the first term in the new school far less jarring, and the tutor learns what the child actually knows rather than what the report card suggests.

Cambridge allows private candidates to sit IGCSE papers through registered exam centres, though centres are thin outside the metros and each sets its own rules, so ask the centre before anything else. The IB Diploma is different: it can only be studied through an authorised IB World School, which is why Diploma students from this belt end up boarding or relocating.

Karnataka State Board, CBSE, IB or IGCSE: what actually differs for a Lingsugur student?

  • Recall is rewarded in State Board and CBSE papers; application is rewarded in IB and IGCSE
  • English vocabulary for science and mathematics is worth building from Class 8 or 9
  • Coursework in IB and IGCSE is marked against published criteria
  • A board switch is workable with focused teaching in the first term

The shortest answer is that each system asks something different of the same child. After Class 10 and the SSLC examination, a Karnataka State Board student moves into a two-year pre-university course, and the result is decided by March papers in the second year. CBSE has its own Class 10 and 12 boards. IGCSE is a two-year course ending at about age 16, and the IB Diploma follows for Classes 11 and 12.

Paper style is the biggest practical gap. State Board and CBSE examinations reward accurate recall of a textbook in a predictable format, which most local classrooms train very well. IB and IGCSE questions often ask the student to apply a method to a context they have not seen, with command words such as 'evaluate' that need teaching directly. A strong Lingsugur student can lose marks here without any content gap.

Language is the second gap. Many students in the taluk learn in Kannada or Urdu medium, then meet mathematics and science vocabulary in English only at examination time. Moving to an English-assessed course means building that vocabulary early, which is easier in Class 8 or 9 than in Class 11.

Coursework is the third. Practical records in State Board schools are largely a matter of completion, whereas an IB Internal Assessment or an IGCSE practical component is marked against published criteria. None of this makes the international route harder overall; several families find criteria-based work easier to plan around than a single high-stakes paper in March.

What decides the price of IB or IGCSE tutoring for a family in Lingsugur?

The rate follows the tutor's specialism and the length of the lesson far more than the student's address. A Higher Level Diploma science taught by someone who taught that exact course last year costs more than reading support for a Class 4 child, and a Lingsugur family pays the same as a family in Bengaluru because no travel is involved. We quote the rate in writing before any booking.

Four levers move the figure: the programme and level, the subject, the length of each session, and how scarce the specialism is. Diploma HL Physics or Mathematics Analysis and Approaches sit near the top because fewer tutors currently teach them. Cambridge Mathematics at Core tier sits lower. A short exam-preparation block can cost less in total than a full year of weekly lessons while still being right for the situation.

Compared with State Board tuition in the taluk, IB and IGCSE specialists charge more, and that is simply scarcity. What you pay for is a tutor who knows the command words, mark schemes and Internal Assessment criteria of the exact course. Ask what a session will cover and how you will hear about progress; a good tutor answers both without hesitation.

Beyond tuition, the other costs are modest: a laptop or tablet, headphones, a stable connection and, if the electricity supply wobbles, a charged backup or a phone hotspot. A graphing calculator approved for IB Mathematics may not be stocked in a taluk market, so order one online several weeks ahead. The first lesson is free, and a different tutor is arranged if the fit is wrong.

04

Online tuition, local coaching, a private tutor in town or self-study: which route fits Lingsugur?

Coaching in and around Lingsugur is built for the Karnataka syllabus: pre-university college classes, tuition rooms for SSLC and the NEET and KCET push that follows. They do it well, but a batch aimed at State Board physics is not teaching the IB Physics data booklet, and nothing in the taluk runs a class for IGCSE Additional Mathematics or IB Chemistry HL.

Private tutors in town are a fair choice for State Board subjects, and some are excellent at steadying a child's confidence. Very few have taught a Cambridge, Edexcel or IB specification recently, though, and a generalist working from a State Board guide cannot tell you what an IGCSE examiner rewards.

Self-study can work for a disciplined student on a predictable course: IGCSE Mathematics with a stack of past papers is the textbook case. It struggles with Internal Assessment planning, Extended Essay structure and extended writing, because nobody reads the draft and says where the argument breaks.

An online one-to-one tutor sits between these. The teaching is aimed at the exact specification, the feedback is individual, and the choice of tutor spans India instead of one taluk. The price of admission is a decent connection: a quiet room, headphones, a laptop or tablet, and a phone hotspot ready in case the line drops.

05

How do Lingsugur's heat, festivals and harvests fit around the IB and IGCSE calendar?

Start with the weather. Raichur district sits in a semi-arid belt, with average annual rainfall listed at roughly 680 mm, and April and May afternoons commonly pass 40 degrees. Karnataka's schools close for summer in that stretch, and it is also when IB Diploma papers and the Cambridge May-June series fall. A Lingsugur student sitting papers in another city should arrive early and rehearse a hot, silent exam hall.

Festivals shape the year more than most families expect. Dasara brings a long holiday in late September or October, Deepavali follows, then Sankranti in January and Ugadi in March or April. Muharram and Maha Shivaratri are both described as important in Lingsugur itself, and both follow lunar calendars, so their dates move each year. We ask for the school calendar and the family's own list of dates at the start of every term and plan around both.

Farming sets a rhythm too. Raichur is known as the rice bowl of Karnataka and holds a cotton trading market, and families who farm or trade often have a heavy fortnight at harvest or sowing. A student who loses a week then needs a shorter, sharper session pattern, not a missed month. We build one catch-up slot into the plan instead of pretending the week did not happen.

On the examination side, the Karnataka SSLC and pre-university papers fall in March, while an international candidate may be preparing for a Cambridge or Edexcel series in January, March, May-June or October-November, or for the IB's May session. Where a child works towards one of these alongside State Board papers, the sensible approach is to rank the exams by date and weight and split the term accordingly.

University and career routes after the IB or IGCSE from Lingsugur

  • AIU equivalence is the first document most Indian institutions ask for
  • NEET and JEE specify subjects, so the subject mix matters more than the label
  • Article 371(J) status depends on years of study in the region; ask before moving schools
  • Tutoring stays on subject depth and technique, not admissions consulting

Two gateways matter before any list of universities. The first is equivalence: the Association of Indian Universities recognises the IB Diploma as equal to Class 12 and Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE as equal to Class 10, and Indian institutions generally ask for that certificate. The second is the subject combination, because engineering and medicine specify Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology at the level they want.

For engineering, JEE Main and Advanced and the state's KCET are the usual doors, and for medicine, NEET UG. The central route is CUET-UG, which feeds central universities including the Central University of Karnataka in Kalaburagi district. Agricultural degrees at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, are a local draw in a district built on rice and cotton. In every case the admitting body's current bulletin, not a family friend's memory, decides eligibility.

Kalyana Karnataka carries special constitutional provisions under Article 371(J), and local-candidate status in admissions is tied to how long a student has studied in the region. A family weighing a move to a Bengaluru or Hyderabad school for Classes 11 and 12 should ask the Karnataka Examinations Authority or the institution to confirm in writing how that status would be treated, before the move rather than after it.

Study abroad is where the IB and IGCSE earn their keep. UK offers are usually expressed as total points with Higher Level floors, American universities treat predicted grades as one input among several, and Canadian and Australian systems have their own conversions. Our tutors work on the academic side, lifting a subject and tightening exam technique; they do not run admissions consulting.

IB Mathematics AA or AI, and the sciences: what does a Lingsugur student need?

Choosing between Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation is the first Diploma decision that really matters. AA suits the student heading to engineering, physical science or pure mathematics: it leans on algebra, proof, calculus and unfamiliar problems. AI suits the student who is more comfortable with data and modelling, such as a future economist, psychologist or biologist, and who will use a graphing calculator throughout.

At Higher Level, both courses add a third paper of extended problem-solving, and in both the Exploration carries a fifth of the grade. AA Paper 1 is taken without a calculator, so mental fluency and written method matter. Students from a State Board background usually have the algebra but not the habit of attacking a problem with no template, and that habit is what we rehearse.

In the sciences, the Scientific Investigation is the piece that needs planning. It needs laboratory access, which an online tutor cannot provide, so an online-only student must arrange practical work through a school or approved lab. Tutors guide the design, the analysis and the write-up, and the data-booklet work that decides Paper 1 and 2 marks. Physics and Chemistry HL reward speed with the booklet; Biology rewards reading the command term.

A graphing calculator from the approved list is part of the toolkit for both mathematics courses, and learning it takes weeks, not days. Order one early, practise the statistics and regression menus on a real problem, and keep it in the exam bag. Students who leave this to the last term lose minutes in every paper.

08

IGCSE Core or Extended, Cambridge or Edexcel: how should a Lingsugur family choose?

Tier comes first because it caps the grade. A Core entry at Cambridge tops out at a mid-range grade, while Extended opens the full scale; Pearson Edexcel's Foundation and Higher tiers work the same way. A family with nobody locally to ask often guesses, and a wrong guess shows up two years later as a Diploma Mathematics course that feels like a wall.

A diagnostic session settles most cases. The tutor sets a few Extended-level questions, watches how the student reasons, and notes where the algebra or the units wobble. If the student cannot yet handle those but is improving fast, Extended with extra support is often better than a safe Core entry that closes doors. If the student is stretched in every subject, Core in some subjects may be the kinder choice.

Board choice is usually made by the school, not the family. Cambridge IGCSE is the more common in India and has a March series for some syllabuses. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE adds a January series and a different paper layout. A student who studies privately, or whose school allows a choice, should look at both specifications and past papers before registering.

Subject choices matter for what comes next. Extended Mathematics with Additional Mathematics is a strong run-up to IB Analysis and Approaches, and separate sciences prepare better for Higher Level science than a combined course does. A student heading back into the Karnataka pre-university stream will want Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology or Computer Science kept on the list so that NEET and KCET stay open.

Where we tutor

Lingsugur town and the places around it

Online lessons need a screen and a steady connection, not a short commute. So these names are context: they show which settlements share the Lingsugur taluk, what each is known for, and how a study timetable might fit around a bus route, a shift at the mine or a harvest week.

Lingsugur town

The taluk headquarters, with about 35,000 residents at the 2011 census, the bus station and the bazaar. Evenings after the shops quieten are the natural lesson window, and a bus ride to a coaching room is the cost this format removes.

Hutti

Home to the state-owned Hutti Gold Mines, set up in 1947 as Hyderabad Gold Mines. Shift work shapes family routines here, so lesson times are best fixed around a parent's shift rather than the school bell.

Mudgal

A fort town about ten miles south-west of Lingsugur, with a moat, bastions, the Fateh Darwaza and a church the Jesuits built before 1557. It was a centre of learning in the 11th century, a fair local example when Theory of Knowledge asks how knowledge travels.

Maski

A settlement on the Maski river, a tributary of the Tungabhadra, where C. Beadon found an Ashoka rock edict in 1915. Families in villages like this depend on road transport for secondary schooling, so a home lesson saves a journey.

Karadakal

Known for the Billamaraja castle and a lake that dates to the 12th century. Quiet evenings suit steady study; the practical question is whether the household has one reliable room and connection.

Jaladurga

A fortified village on an island in the Krishna, built by the Adil Shahi kings, about 20 km north-east of Lingsugur. Test the mobile signal at the study spot before the trial lesson.

Narayanpura

Site of the dam and power plant on the Krishna, which feed the irrigation that shapes the district's harvest calendar and, with it, many families' weekly routine.

Gurugunta

A town in the taluk that features among the stations proposed on the Gadag-Wadi railway line. Until rail arrives, buses remain the main link, which makes online study the easier route for a student here.

The Raichur school listing we checked shows a CBSE school and no IB or Cambridge school, and our checks in Lingsugur taluk found none either. Local families choose between State Board, CBSE and, for the unusual few, a school in another city.

    Nearby: Hyderabad

The nearest confirmed IB and Cambridge schools, roughly 300 km by road. The International School of Hyderabad teaches the Diploma in Grades 11 and 12, and The Gaudium School is registered for Cambridge IGCSE and AS & A Level.

    • International School of Hyderabad
    • The Gaudium School

    Nearby: Bengaluru

Roughly 500 km away. Stonehill International School runs the full IB continuum from Kindergarten to Grade 12 with day and boarding places, so Bengaluru suits a family relocating rather than commuting.

Schools are named only to show where the nearest IB and Cambridge options lie; none is a partner, referrer or endorser of IB Gram. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service with no affiliation to the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school mentioned on this page.

    How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

    1. 01

      Send the brief

Board or programme, subject and level, the exam sitting, how marks stand now, and which evenings in Lingsugur are free for a class.

    2. 02

      Meet a short list

Because the town has no confirmed IB or IGCSE school to anchor a search, tutors are chosen across India for experience with your exact syllabus.

    3. 03

      Take the free trial

A real topic taught live, with the whiteboard on screen and no cost; the same session tests your connection.

    4. 04

      Agree the first month

Topics, weekly rhythm and the way progress is reported are written down, and the rate is confirmed in writing, before regular classes start.

    5. 05

      Review and adjust

A note follows each class, a review follows every few weeks, and a different tutor is found if the fit is wrong.

    Why families choose us

What Lingsugur parents tell us matters most

    Matched to the exact course

The shortlist begins with the HL or SL subject, or the Cambridge or Edexcel code and tier, not with a general IB label.

Built for a town without a local option

With no IB or Cambridge school in the taluk, a specialist from elsewhere in India is not a compromise; it is the only way to find one.

Judged on a lesson, not a CV

The trial comes before any commitment, so you see the tutor teach.

    Coaching with a clear boundary

Tutors explain, question and mark; they do not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework.

    A note after every class

Parents who are not in the room still see what was covered and what comes next.

    Independent of schools and boards

No tie to any school, to the IB or to Cambridge or Pearson, so advice is about the student only.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Lingsugur: your questions answered

Where can I find an IB tutor in Lingsugur?+

You will not find a specialist in the taluk, so the practical answer is an online tutor chosen for your child's exact subject and level. IB Gram shortlists from tutors across India who have taught that course recently, and every class runs live on video on IST. Send the programme, subject, level and exam sitting, and a free trial lesson is arranged first so you can judge the teaching before deciding anything.

Can my child get IGCSE home tuition in Lingsugur?+

Yes, as online home tuition: a private lesson the student attends from home on a laptop or tablet, with the tutor teaching live. Both Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE are covered, at Core or Extended and Foundation or Higher tiers. The tutor is chosen for the specification the school has actually entered the student for, and the lesson uses past papers from that board.

Will a tutor come to our house in Lingsugur?+

No. IB Gram's tutors do not visit homes in Lingsugur; in-person home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Here the lesson happens on screen, with the tutor writing on a shared whiteboard while the student works at home. All a family needs is a laptop or tablet, headphones, a steady connection and a quiet corner.

Which schools in or near Lingsugur teach the IB or IGCSE?+

None that we can confirm. The Raichur school listing we checked shows a CBSE school and no IB or Cambridge school, and our checks in Lingsugur taluk found none either. The nearest confirmed options are the International School of Hyderabad (IB Diploma) and The Gaudium School (Cambridge IGCSE and AS & A Level), about 300 km away, and Stonehill International School in Bengaluru (full IB continuum), which also takes boarders.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost for a student in Lingsugur?+

There is no published price list. The rate depends on the programme and level, the subject, the length of each session and how scarce the specialism is, so Higher Level Diploma sciences sit above IGCSE Core subjects. Lingsugur families pay the same as anyone else because no travel is involved. You receive the rate in writing before booking, and the first lesson costs nothing.

Is the internet in Lingsugur good enough for live online lessons?+

Usually yes if the connection is stable, though we cannot promise any particular provider's line. A lesson needs a steady link rather than a fast one: video and a shared whiteboard run comfortably on ordinary broadband or good 4G. Use the free trial as the test, keep a phone hotspot ready as a backup, and put the laptop on charge before class in case the power dips.

Can a child from a Kannada-medium or State Board school move to IGCSE or the IB?+

Yes, and many students do, though the first term needs care. The content gap is usually smaller than the gap in exam language: command words, extended answers and English subject vocabulary. We start with a diagnostic lesson, then build vocabulary and written-answer habits alongside the syllabus. Moving at Class 8 or 9 is easier than at Class 11, but a later switch is workable with focused teaching.

Can my child sit Cambridge IGCSE exams from Lingsugur without joining a Cambridge school?+

Cambridge accepts private candidates through registered exam centres, but centres are thin outside the metros and each sets its own conditions, so contact the centre first. IB Gram does not run exams or act as a centre. We prepare the student for the papers, and the family arranges entry through a centre. Practical papers may need laboratory access, so ask the centre what it provides.

Which IB subjects can your tutors cover?+

Mathematics Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, the three sciences, Economics, Business Management, English A, Computer Science, Psychology, Geography, History, Environmental Systems and Societies and Hindi B, along with Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay coaching. MYP and PYP are covered as well. A less common subject can usually be matched, from a shorter list of specialists.

Do tutors help with the IB Internal Assessment and Extended Essay?+

They coach; they do not write. A tutor can help narrow a research question, explain what each criterion rewards, check a method, and give feedback on a draft the student wrote alone. Producing text that carries the student's name, whether an IA, an Extended Essay, a TOK essay or coursework, is outside what any IB Gram tutor does, because the IB treats that as misconduct.

Will the IB or IGCSE be accepted for NEET, JEE or Karnataka colleges?+

Generally yes through equivalence, but the details belong to each admitting body. The Association of Indian Universities issues equivalence for the IB Diploma and IGCSE, NEET UG and JEE ask for particular subjects at Class 12 level, and CUET-UG serves central universities. For state seats, ask the Karnataka Examinations Authority how study outside the region is treated. We do not guarantee admission anywhere; we teach the subjects.

When should a Lingsugur student start IB or IGCSE tuition?+

Start when the course starts if you can: Grade 9 for IGCSE, Class 11 for the Diploma, and Class 8 if a move to an English-medium school is planned. That leaves time to fix gaps before internal exams, Internal Assessments and predicted grades converge. Starting in the exam year still helps if sessions go to high-yield topics, with a plan for the hot April weeks.

What time slots work for students in Lingsugur?+

Weekday evenings after school and weekend mornings cover most bookings. In April and May the slot moves earlier or later to avoid the hottest hours, and around Dasara, Deepavali and harvest weeks we shift it to suit the household. Ahead of mocks or an exam series, a second weekly class is easy to add. All tutors teach on IST, so there is no time-zone adjustment.

What if the tutor is not the right fit for my child?+

Tell us and a different tutor is arranged; changing is part of the arrangement, not a favour. Reviews every few weeks are meant to catch a poor fit early, and the written note after each class gives you something concrete to point to. You never need to argue for a change.

Do you teach younger children in PYP or MYP, or only Diploma students?+

The whole range is covered. Younger PYP children get shorter, more frequent sessions built around reading, number and the questions they ask about their Exhibition. MYP students work on criterion-based writing in the sciences and Individuals and Societies, and on shaping a Personal Project early. Diploma and IGCSE tutoring completes the range.

Is IB Gram connected to any school, the IB or Cambridge?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service with no affiliation to any school named on this page, to the International Baccalaureate, to Cambridge or to Pearson. Schools are named only to show where the nearest IB and Cambridge options are, and none appears here as a partner or sponsor.
