IB and IGCSE Tutors and Online Home Tuition in Lakshmeshwar

Private tuition from home is what most parents in Lakshmeshwar want, and for IB and IGCSE it works as a live one-to-one video lesson, because no tutor travels to houses here. This is a small agricultural trading town in Gadag district with no IB or Cambridge school of its own, so our tutors teach the syllabus itself, subject by subject, to students who sit exams through a distant school or as private candidates.

  • Live one-to-one lessons at home on a laptop, no travel to Hubballi
  • Tutors matched to the exact IB or IGCSE course, level and exam series
  • Free trial lesson and a written note after every session
  • Independent of every school, board and exam body

IB & IGCSE in Lakshmeshwar

IB and IGCSE tuition for a family in Lakshmeshwar

Lakshmeshwar is a town of roughly 37,000 people in Gadag district, about 55 km from Hubballi and 40 km from Gadag. It is known for its Chalukya-era Someshwara temple complex, its old Jain basadis and a market that handles the grain, cotton and pulses of the surrounding villages. Nobody here would call it an international-school town, and that is exactly why a family searching for IB and IGCSE tutors in Lakshmeshwar usually has an unusual story behind the search.

Typically a parent has a child already enrolled, or about to be enrolled, at a school far away: a boarding campus in Bengaluru, an IB day school near Pune, or a relocation abroad that the family plans for in two or three years. Others hold a transfer-linked job, or run a business with an eventual move to a metro in mind. In each case the school teaches the course, but the child spends long holidays, illness weeks and the whole summer back in Lakshmeshwar, where nobody can explain a Paper 2 question or an unfamiliar IGCSE command word.

We do not send tutors to homes in Lakshmeshwar, and we say so before a trial rather than after it. Home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What we offer here is online home tuition: a live, private lesson on your own laptop or tablet, with the tutor sharing a screen, working through past papers, and sending a written note afterwards so a parent can see what was covered.

IB Gram is independent. We are not part of the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school, and tutors coach rather than write. An Internal Assessment, Extended Essay, TOK essay or any piece of coursework must remain entirely the student's own work, whatever the deadline pressure.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Lakshmeshwar school years

A child in Lakshmeshwar meets the IB in a different shape from a child in Bengaluru, because the home town supplies no school, no lab and no classmates doing the same course. What each programme asks of a tutor therefore changes with the stage.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised into units of inquiry rather than textbook chapters, and children close the programme with a self-chosen Exhibition project. There are no marks, so a tutor's job is gentle: reading aloud, number sense, and helping a child explain what they noticed.

For Lakshmeshwar parents planning a move to a PYP school, early tutoring is mostly about steady English reading and curiosity, so a child arrives ready to discuss ideas rather than copy answers.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Each subject is judged against four written criteria, so a perfectly correct answer can still lose marks if the reasoning is not shown. MYP 5 adds eAssessment and a Personal Project that a student drives alone.

A boarder home in Lakshmeshwar for the holidays often needs the criteria decoded in plain language, since the school has moved on while the student is away from the classroom.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, with Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service wrapped around them. Final papers run in May, with a November session for retakes.

Diploma students from this district are usually boarders or private candidates, and for a private candidate the tutor is effectively the only teacher of that subject.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Combines at least two Diploma courses with a career-related study and a reflective project. Few families in north Karnataka meet it, but the Diploma courses inside it are taught the usual way.

Where a Lakshmeshwar student follows the CP, tutoring concentrates on the Diploma subjects and on planning the reflective project, leaving the career study to the school.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Subject matching matters more when a student has no school teacher nearby. IB Maths Analysis and Approaches HL and Applications and Interpretation SL are different courses, and a tutor strong in one may not teach the other. We match a Lakshmeshwar family to the exact course and level first, then to the exam session ahead.

IB Maths Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Algebra, functions, calculus and proof, with HL Paper 3 problem solving practised slowly because a village power cut cannot be allowed to interrupt a half-finished proof.

IB Maths Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and spreadsheet or calculator technique, with exploration ideas drawn from a student's own surroundings such as crop yields, rainfall and market prices.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics, thermal physics, waves and fields, with home-made experiments for the investigation because a distant school lab is not available in the holidays.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Stoichiometry, bonding, kinetics and organic chemistry, plus fluent use of the data booklet before the papers begin.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Cell biology, genetics, ecology and human physiology, where command-term precision decides the long answers and agricultural surroundings supply real ecology examples.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagram-led micro and macro, with a local agricultural market such as Lakshmeshwar's own useful for the commentaries.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory applied to a named organisation, a good fit for students from trading and farming families who already see businesses at work.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Paper 1 textual analysis, Paper 2 comparative essays and an oral on a global issue, taught for students who speak Kannada at home and English at school.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Programming, networks and data structures, and an IA that needs a working product plus documentation a student can finish even with patchy broadband.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Studies, approaches and extended-response writing that argues a position rather than lists research.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Systems thinking and case-study evaluation, with dry-land farming and reservoir irrigation giving north Karnataka students vivid, relevant cases.

IB Kannada B and Hindi B

HL / SL

Text types, receptive skills and a spontaneous oral, with Kannada a natural strength for students raised in Gadag district.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Exhibition planning and prescribed-title thinking, with arguments the student builds and writes alone.

Extended Essay (EE)

DP Core

Narrowing a question, structuring research and using supervisor sessions well; the essay itself stays the student's own.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

IGCSE students from Lakshmeshwar need the board, the syllabus code and the tier fixed early, because Cambridge 0580 Extended, Cambridge 0606 Additional Mathematics and Edexcel 4MA1 Higher ask for different preparation. Cambridge entries sit in the February-March, May-June and October-November series; Edexcel in January and May-June.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended-tier practice paper by paper, with non-calculator fluency treated as its own skill rather than an afterthought.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Class 10

Calculus, identities and vectors taken at a steady pace, a useful bridge toward IB Maths AA later.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Higher-tier questions with Edexcel's phrasing, which differs enough from Cambridge to trip up a student revising from the wrong papers.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Circuits, waves and rearranging equations, with the alternative-to-practical paper rehearsed for students who cannot easily use a lab.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Moles, bonding, organic chemistry and test-for-ions tables, taught with practical-paper technique.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Genetics, inheritance and data interpretation, the places where marks leak most often.

IGCSE Combined & Co-ordinated Sciences

0653 / 0654

Three sciences on one timetable, sensible for students who want sound grounding without three full courses.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Class 9-10

Diagrams and evaluative paragraphs, using farm-gate prices and market-yard trade as familiar illustrations.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Class 9-10

Directed writing, summary and composition, each practised separately because they reward different habits.

IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language 0549

Class 9-10

Reading, writing and speaking tasks for students whose home language is Kannada.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Lakshmeshwar school timetables

Because Lakshmeshwar has no home-visit service, there are three practical ways families here use IB Gram, depending on how much of the course a school already covers.

Online one-to-one home tuition

A private lesson from your own room: tutor on screen, shared whiteboard, a past paper in front of you. Most Lakshmeshwar students use this format for one or two subjects.

  • Fixed weekly slot in IST
  • Written note after each session
  • No tutor travels to the house; home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR

Holiday intensives for boarders

For children who study in Bengaluru or elsewhere and return for Diwali, summer or the winter break, a short, daily run of lessons on one weak topic.

  • Four to ten sessions in a fortnight
  • Planned from the school's own scheme of work
  • Ends with a timed paper and a review

Full-course teaching for private candidates

Where no school teacher is involved, the tutor teaches the whole syllabus for a subject, sets work and prepares the student for an approved exam centre.

  • Syllabus map and term plan up front
  • Regular past-paper marking
  • Support with entry deadlines through a centre
Verified tutors

IB and IGCSE tutors available to students in Lakshmeshwar

Our tutors are based in India and teach in IST, so a Lakshmeshwar evening slot never involves a time-zone puzzle. Each is matched to a specific IB or IGCSE course and level, and a family can ask to change tutor after the trial if the fit is wrong.

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Lakshmeshwar

01

Which IB and IGCSE routes do Lakshmeshwar families actually have?

  • Boarding in Bengaluru: holiday intensives and continuity
  • Private candidate: complete syllabus teaching and timed paper practice
  • Dual track: overlap map between the State Board and IGCSE content
  • Pre-move preparation: bridging before admission to an IB school

Lakshmeshwar families have three realistic routes into the IB or IGCSE: enrol a child at a school in another city, sit Cambridge or Edexcel exams as a private candidate, or study an international syllabus alongside a local board for a planned move abroad.

The first route usually means Bengaluru, which is far enough that a child boards for most of the year. The distance makes the holidays the time when tutoring has the highest value: a boarder returning to Lakshmeshwar in October or May can close one stubborn gap in a fortnight of regular lessons, rather than carrying it into the next term.

The second route, private candidacy, is more common than outsiders assume. Cambridge IGCSE does not require school enrolment, only entry through an authorised exam centre, and some children take two or three subjects this way to widen a CBSE or State Board profile. The risk is not the exam; it is the long gap between starting a syllabus and sitting the paper without anyone setting deadlines.

The third route suits families whose breadwinner may be posted abroad or who are weighing study overseas for the child. They keep the Karnataka school but add IGCSE Maths or Sciences, so a later overseas school sees familiar content.

Whichever route applies, the first step is to write down the board, syllabus code, tier and next exam series. A tutor cannot teach well from a vague request such as help with IB science.

02

Karnataka State Board, CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE compared

Most Lakshmeshwar children study the Karnataka State Board in Kannada or English medium, with a minority at CBSE schools in Gadag or Hubballi. Knowing how the other boards differ makes it easier to judge whether a switch is sensible, and when.

The State Board syllabus is content heavy and examined mainly through recall and short answers; SSLC at Class 10 and the second PUC at Class 12 decide a student's state-level options, including CET for engineering and medical seats. The IB and IGCSE ask for the same ideas to be applied, explained and evaluated, so students moving across often need weeks, not days, to relearn how to answer.

CBSE sits in between: more application than the State Board, but still a set textbook and a fixed answer pattern. ICSE is wider in English and sciences. IGCSE is subject by subject with a clear tier choice, whereas the IB Diploma binds six subjects and a core together over two years.

The table that follows compares the five boards on the points parents here raise most often. It describes patterns, not individual schools, whose practice varies.

One caution for families in this district: a switch after Class 9 is harder than before it. If an overseas move is possible, decide by Class 8 and start bridging early.

03

What does IB and IGCSE tuition cost for a Lakshmeshwar student?

  • Course and level: HL, SL, Core, Extended, Additional Mathematics
  • Tutor's experience with the exact board and syllabus code
  • Hours per week and length of the engagement
  • One-to-one format, with no group discount to expect

We do not publish prices, because the rate for an IB or IGCSE tutor depends on the course, the level and the tutor, and we quote it in writing only after a free trial lesson. What a Lakshmeshwar family can predict is which factors push the figure up or down.

Syllabus level is the first factor. A tutor for IB Maths AA HL or Further Mathematics carries a different rate from one for IGCSE Combined Science, as the preparation, marking and subject depth differ. The second is experience with the specific board: someone who has marked Cambridge 0580 papers brings advantages that a general maths teacher does not.

Frequency and format come next. Two sessions a week through a school year cost differently from a block of daily holiday lessons, and a private candidate who needs the whole syllabus taught uses far more hours than a boarder fixing one topic. Group size is not a factor, because every lesson here is one to one.

Compare the full cost, not only the hourly figure. A local coaching class might look cheaper per month but cost a daily two-hour round trip to Hubballi; online home tuition removes that travel entirely.

Ask for the rate, session length, cancellation terms and what the written notes include before booking. If the quote does not make sense, say so; a free trial exists so nobody commits blind.

04

Online home tuition, coaching centres, private tutors or self-study?

For a Lakshmeshwar student, online one-to-one tuition is usually the only option that supplies a specialist in a named IB or IGCSE syllabus, because the town and its neighbouring talukas have no teacher trained in these courses.

Coaching centres in Hubballi and Gadag are strong for JEE, NEET and CET preparation but are built around the State Board and CBSE. A centre can help with the underlying science or mathematics, yet it rarely knows the IGCSE command words, the IB mark schemes or how an IA is assessed.

A private tutor from the local area, such as a teacher or engineering graduate, can be an excellent teacher of the content but may have never seen a Paper 3, a Cambridge alternative-to-practical or an MYP criterion. That gap is where a student quietly loses marks.

Self-study with past papers works for a disciplined student in the later months of preparation. It breaks down early in a course, when a misunderstood idea goes uncorrected and then spreads.

The comparison below sets the four options against the things Lakshmeshwar parents mention most.

Exam calendar and the study year in Gadag district

The exam dates are set by the boards, but the weeks a student can actually study are shaped by where they live. In Lakshmeshwar that means a school year framed by the monsoon, the harvest and a cluster of festivals that pull the whole household away from books.

The IB Diploma examines in May, with results in early July, and offers a November session in some schools. Cambridge IGCSE runs a February-March series for some subjects, a May-June series and an October-November series; Edexcel runs January and May-June. Private candidates register through an exam centre months in advance, so the first deadline arrives long before the paper.

North Karnataka is semi-arid. March to May is hot enough that afternoon study is unrealistic, so we place lessons in the evening and early morning. The south-west monsoon from June brings lighter rain to Gadag than the coast, though the kharif sowing and later harvest still absorb family time.

Festivals matter. Ugadi in spring, Dasara in October with its long school break, Deepavali and Sankranti all affect attendance, and Muharram and Eid are observed across the town. We agree the festival weeks at the trial lesson so nobody has to reschedule at the last minute.

The table lays out a typical year; your school's own calendar always takes precedence.

University pathways from Lakshmeshwar after the IB or IGCSE

  • AIU equivalence for Indian admissions
  • CUET-UG for central university entry
  • JEE Main and NEET eligibility to be checked against the current bulletin
  • Overseas applications on predicted IB or A Level grades

A Lakshmeshwar student with an IB Diploma or a run of IGCSEs followed by A Levels can go to Indian universities, to colleges abroad, or to both, but the route needs checking early because each has its own paperwork.

For Indian degrees, the Association of Indian Universities issues an equivalence certificate for the IB Diploma and for Cambridge or Edexcel qualifications, which many institutions ask for at admission. CUET-UG accepts students from boards beyond CBSE, so an IB student can apply to central universities provided the subject combination fits the course.

Engineering and medicine need extra care. JEE Main and NEET have their own eligibility language on subjects and percentages, and the rules change from year to year, so a family must read the current information bulletin rather than rely on a friend's memory. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology at HL or SL are the foundation for both.

Closer to home, Hubballi and Dharwad offer IIT Dharwad, Karnataka University and KLE institutions, while Bengaluru has the wider range of universities. Study abroad typically asks for predicted IB grades or A Level results plus English-language proof where needed.

Our role is limited to subject coaching and exam technique; we do not guarantee admission anywhere. Speak to a university admissions office for the final word on requirements.

07

How do IB Maths and the sciences work for a student in a small town?

  • Maths: AA versus AI choice, Paper 3 and the exploration
  • Sciences: command terms, data questions and investigation method
  • Weekly past-paper habit with marked feedback
  • Mock exams under timed conditions before the real series

IB Maths and the sciences work for a small-town student the same way they do anywhere: through steady, structured practice, but the lack of nearby support makes the first term of each subject the one to get right.

Maths comes in two courses. Analysis and Approaches suits students who like algebra, calculus and proof and who may aim at engineering or pure science; Applications and Interpretation leans on statistics, modelling and technology. At HL both are demanding, and the Paper 3 problems and the exploration are where a tutor helps most.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology share a pattern: three written papers, a scientific investigation worth a fifth of the grade, and a heavy reliance on command terms such as outline, discuss and evaluate. A student who writes a correct sentence that does not answer the command word loses marks every time.

The investigation is the awkward part for a student without a lab. We help a student choose a question that can be tested with ordinary equipment or with openly available data, and we coach on method and analysis while the investigation itself remains the student's own piece of work.

A short diagnostic test in the trial lesson shows where a student stands, and the tutor sets a plan for the next ten weeks from there.

08

IGCSE Core or Extended, and which subjects to choose?

Core suits students who find a subject difficult and want a solid pass; Extended suits those aiming for higher grades or planning to continue with A Level or the IB Diploma. For maths and sciences, a student aiming at IB Maths AA or any science route should usually take Extended.

The tier is chosen per subject, not per student, so a child might sit Extended Maths and Core English. Core papers cap the highest grade available, which is why choosing it for a subject needed later can close a door.

Subject choice deserves the same thought. Mathematics, the sciences and English First Language form the backbone of most pathways; Economics, Computer Science and Business Studies add range. Hindi or another second language is useful for a student who may return to an Indian school system.

Cambridge and Edexcel differ in layout, paper names and calculator rules. A private candidate should fix the board at the outset, pick the syllabus code, and download specimen papers before starting, because a mix of boards wastes weeks of revision.

We help a family decide on tier and subjects in the trial discussion, and we put the choice in the written note afterwards.

09

Language, connectivity and everyday practicalities in Lakshmeshwar

Online learning depends on very ordinary things, and in Lakshmeshwar those ordinary things deserve a plan. A reliable connection, a quiet place and a backup for power cuts decide whether an hour-long lesson is productive.

Many homes use mobile data or a fibre line that slows in the evening peak. A laptop with a headset is better than a phone; if a phone is all there is, we adapt by sending notes in advance and keeping the screen share simple. Keeping the lesson time slightly earlier in the evening often avoids congestion.

A power inverter or a charged laptop matters more than a faster router. Rural feeders in Gadag district can see supply interruptions, especially in the dry months, and a lesson that drops at the halfway mark is frustrating for both sides. We agree a fallback: the tutor resumes within the hour or the slot is moved at no penalty.

Language is a real consideration. Students here speak Kannada at home and study English at school; tutors explain concepts in clear English, and for a younger child can use a few Kannada or Hindi words to confirm understanding before moving on.

Finally, parents can listen in. We encourage this for primary and middle years, and the written note afterwards gives a parent a plain summary of what happened and what to practise before the next lesson.

Where we tutor

Lakshmeshwar neighbourhoods and nearby villages we tutor online

A video lesson runs the same from the old town centre or a farmhouse a few kilometres out, so distance inside Lakshmeshwar does not shape the tutoring. What changes is connectivity, power supply and the hours a family's day allows, and we plan around those.

Someshwara temple area

The historic core of the town; narrow lanes, older houses and fibre or broadband that is usually steadier than the outskirts.

Bus stand and main market road

The busiest stretch, where traders' families live above shops; children here often study late after the market closes.

Jumma Masjid and old Peth quarter

A compact, long-settled neighbourhood where many families run grain, cloth or provisions businesses.

Gadag Road side

Newer housing along the road toward Gadag, 40 km away, popular with government employees and teachers.

Hubballi Road side

Families here have the shortest link to Hubballi, 55 km east, and to its larger private-school market.

Sannabasadi and Jain quarter

Close to the old Jain basadis; a settled community that values formal schooling and tends to plan education early.

College and Taluk Office area

Home to government staff and teachers whose postings can end in transfers, which is when an IB or IGCSE move starts to matter.

Surrounding farm villages

Families on agricultural land a few kilometres out, where mobile data may be the only connection and sessions are scheduled with that in mind.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Lakshmeshwar

Lakshmeshwar itself

We found no confirmed IB World School and no confirmed Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE centre in Lakshmeshwar, and we name none. Local schools follow the Karnataka State Board, with some CBSE and ICSE options. Ask any school which board it actually teaches.

    Nearby: Hubballi and Dharwad

Hubballi is the nearest large market, about 55 km away. The twin city is the usual base for exam centres and coaching, though we have not confirmed an IB or IGCSE campus there either.

      Nearby: Bengaluru (boarding and relocation)

The realistic IB and IGCSE options for this district are in Bengaluru, roughly 400 km away by road. Families weigh boarding against moving, and a tutor keeps the course steady through holidays at home.

      • Canadian International School
      • Stonehill International School

      Nearby: Ballari and Belagavi

Neighbouring district cities are covered on their own pages; local choice there is also limited, and families often look further to Bengaluru or Pune.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. Schools are named only to describe where Lakshmeshwar families might study; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any of them, nor for the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any exam board. Check admissions and the board a school follows with the school itself.

        How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

        1. 01

          Tell us the course

Message us on WhatsApp or email with the board, syllabus code, level, the school or private-candidate route, and the next exam series.

        2. 02

          Meet a matched tutor

We propose a tutor who teaches that exact course, and arrange a free trial lesson at a time that suits your evening.

        3. 03

          Try a lesson

The tutor runs a short diagnostic on screen, so you see how the teaching feels and where the student stands.

        4. 04

          Receive a written plan

After the trial you get a note on strengths, gaps and a suggested schedule, and the rate is quoted in writing.

        5. 05

          Learn, review, adjust

Weekly lessons continue with a note after each, and we change the tutor if the fit is not right.

        Why families choose us

What Lakshmeshwar parents tell us matters most

        Specialists for named syllabuses

Tutors are chosen for a specific IB or IGCSE course, not general school subjects.

        No travel, no relocation

A Lakshmeshwar student learns from home instead of making a long journey to Hubballi for each class.

        Free trial lesson

You see the teaching and the tutor before spending anything.

        Written notes every session

Parents who cannot follow IB jargon still see what was covered and what to practise.

Tutor change if the fit is wrong

A mismatch is fixed without argument, so a family is never stuck with one tutor.

        Honest about what we do

No home visits outside Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, no ghost-written coursework, no promised grades.

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Lakshmeshwar: your questions answered

Are there IB or IGCSE tutors in Lakshmeshwar?+

Yes, online. We did not find a locally based IB or IGCSE specialist in Lakshmeshwar, so our India-based tutors teach live over video from their own homes. A student sits at a laptop in Lakshmeshwar and works one to one with a tutor matched to the exact course and level, in IST, with a written note after every session.

Do your tutors come to my home in Lakshmeshwar?+

No. Tutors do not visit homes in Lakshmeshwar or anywhere in Karnataka. In-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. In Lakshmeshwar, home tuition means online home tuition: a live, private lesson you take from your own house on a laptop, which avoids the 55 km trip to Hubballi.

Is there an IB school in Lakshmeshwar?+

We could not confirm one. We have found no IB World School and no Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE centre in Lakshmeshwar, and we name none on this page. Families interested in these curricula usually look at Bengaluru for boarding or study as private candidates, so check any school's claims directly with the school.

Can my child take IGCSE as a private candidate from Lakshmeshwar?+

Yes, in principle. Cambridge and Edexcel accept private candidates through an authorised exam centre, which is normally in a bigger city. Dates and fees come from the centre, not from us. Our tutors teach the whole syllabus, mark past papers and prepare the student, while registration and the exam itself are handled by the centre.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Lakshmeshwar?+

It depends, and we quote the rate in writing after a free trial rather than publishing a price. The rate follows the course and level, the tutor's experience with that board, and how many hours a week you need. Because lessons are online, there is no travel cost to Hubballi or Gadag to add on.

My child boards in Bengaluru and comes home for holidays. Can you help?+

Yes, and it is a common reason families contact us. A short run of lessons during Dasara, Deepavali or the summer break can close a specific gap in IB Maths, a science or IGCSE Extended Maths. We ask for the school's scheme of work so the tutor stays in step with the class.

Which IB subjects can you cover for a Lakshmeshwar student?+

Most of the common ones. We cover Maths AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management, English, Computer Science, Psychology, ESS and language B courses, plus TOK and Extended Essay coaching. The list is on this page; if your course is unusual, message us and we will say honestly whether we have a tutor.

Will a tutor write my child's IA or Extended Essay?+

No. Tutors coach and never write coursework. They can explain what a criterion rewards, comment on structure and challenge weak reasoning, but an Internal Assessment, Extended Essay or TOK essay has to be the student's own work. A school or examiner who finds otherwise can penalise the student seriously.

How do Karnataka State Board students move to IGCSE or IB?+

With bridging, ideally before Class 9. The State Board is content heavy and the IGCSE or IB asks for application and explanation, so a student needs practice with command words and structured answers. A tutor can map overlap, fill gaps and teach exam technique. A late switch after Class 10 is possible but harder.

What internet speed and device do we need?+

A laptop or tablet with a working camera and a stable connection is enough. We suggest at least a few Mbps with a headset, and a charged device in case of power cuts. A phone can work in an emergency. If the line fails, the tutor waits and, if needed, moves the lesson with no penalty.

Can my child study in Kannada while preparing for IGCSE?+

The exams are in English, so lessons are in English. Tutors speak clearly and can use a few Kannada or Hindi words to check a young child's understanding. Subjects such as IB Kannada B or IGCSE Hindi as a second language are taught in their own languages with matched tutors.

When are the IB and IGCSE exams a Lakshmeshwar student would sit?+

IB Diploma papers are in May, with a November session for some candidates. Cambridge IGCSE has February-March, May-June and October-November series, and Edexcel runs January and May-June. Your school or exam centre confirms which series applies, and we plan tutoring backwards from that date.

Can you help with JEE, NEET or CUET after the IB?+

We help with the subject content that sits under them, such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, but we are not an entrance-coaching institute. Eligibility for JEE Main and NEET differs for IB and IGCSE students and changes, so read the current NTA bulletin. For CUET-UG we can support subject preparation at a student's request.

What if my child does not like the tutor?+

Tell us and we will change the tutor. The free trial is meant to reveal fit, and you may switch afterwards without argument. A good match depends on teaching style as much as knowledge, particularly for a young learner or a nervous student.

        How do I start?+

Message us on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115 or write to support@ibgram.com with the board, subject, level and exam series. We reply with a tutor suggestion and a trial slot. The first lesson is free, and a written plan and rate follow in writing before you decide anything.

Is IB Gram connected to the IB, Cambridge or any school?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service and is not affiliated with the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named on this page. We do not issue certificates or predicted grades, and we cannot influence admissions or marking. All official decisions rest with your school and the exam bodies.
