Kandukur IB and IGCSE Tutors for Private Online Tuition

Private tuition at home is the usual first request from Kandukur families who hear the words IB or IGCSE, and the honest version is a live video lesson, since no such school is confirmed in the town. A tutor with real experience of your child's exact course teaches one student at a time from elsewhere in India. Nobody comes to the house, and sessions avoid junior-college hours.

  • Tutors picked for the exact course, tier and level, not a general IB or IGCSE label
  • All teaching is online; in-person sessions at a student's house exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
  • You watch a complete trial lesson before deciding anything
  • Independent of the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and any school named on this page

IB & IGCSE in Kandukur

Why Kandukur families look at IB and IGCSE at all

Kandukur is a municipal town of roughly 57,000 people that sat in Prakasam district until the 2022 reorganisation moved it into SPSR Nellore district. Its schools, about two dozen by the municipality's own count, are a mix of government and private institutions teaching the Andhra Pradesh State Board or CBSE, mostly in Telugu or English medium. Nothing in that list suggests an international curriculum, and we have not found one.

So why would a Kandukur household want IB or IGCSE help? The reasons are practical. Telugu families have a large diaspora in the United States, the Gulf and the United Kingdom, and a cousin's child may already be on an international syllabus. A son or daughter may be boarding in Vijayawada or Chennai. A parent may be weighing a move to a larger city and wants to know what the curriculum actually asks for.

IB Gram answers with online lessons only. No tutor is sent to a Kandukur address, because in-person home tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What a household does get is a tutor chosen on experience with the exact paper, teaching live on a shared screen at the student's own desk.

We are independent of the IB, Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel and every school on this page. Tutors explain, question and mark. They do not write Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or any other assessed work.

At a glance

  • IB Primary, Middle Years and Diploma Programme help
  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, both tiers
  • Live private lessons at home over video, on IST
  • A trial class at no cost, then a written note after every session
  • No tutor visits in Kandukur; those run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Kandukur school years

Few Kandukur students meet these programmes in the town itself. More often the first contact is a school elsewhere, a relative's experience abroad or a distance provider. The short notes below say what each programme actually asks of a child, and where outside help tends to land.

PYPAges 3-12, Nursery to Class 6

IB Primary Years Programme

Children study through shared themes such as how the world works, rather than a strict subject timetable, ending in a group Exhibition. Outside help is gentle: reading aloud, number sense and the nerve to ask questions in English.

A Kandukur child coming from a Telugu-medium classroom often needs spoken English and classroom confidence built up before joining a PYP school elsewhere.

MYPAges 11-16, Class 6 to 10

IB Middle Years Programme

Subjects are scored against set criteria, with interdisciplinary units and a Personal Project at the close. Good memory helps less than the ability to explain why.

Students arriving from an AP State Board syllabus usually need practice writing short scientific explanations in English and breaking a Personal Project into monthly stages.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, with TOK, an Extended Essay and CAS across two years. Internal Assessments accumulate gradually, so the first year sets the tone for the second.

Because no Diploma school is confirmed in Kandukur, DP requests come from boarders at schools in other cities, from distance learners and from families planning a move, usually asking for Mathematics and sciences first.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Diploma courses are combined with career-related study, a reflective project and a short skills course, for students who know the field they want.

CP is rare across Andhra Pradesh, so requests from Kandukur are few; tutoring covers the Diploma courses inside the pathway and the reflective project.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Every match starts from the course code and level, since Mathematics AA HL and AI SL are different jobs. Telugu and Hindi B are available for families who want language support beside English.

IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Students from the AP intermediate system are strong on calculus drills; the gap is usually unfamiliar, multi-step reasoning on Paper 3 and clearly written justification.

IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and graphic-calculator habits. The emphasis shifts from pure manipulation to interpreting what a result means.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Quantitative work is rarely the problem; concise written explanation and careful uncertainty handling are. Paper timing is rehearsed under a clock.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Students used to the Indian syllabus know much of the content, but IB asks for data-based questions and a written practical investigation with real evaluation.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Breadth is heavy. Answers are marked on the command term used, and the investigation needs a workable design with a simple statistical test.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagrams must carry labelled evidence from a real example. Andhra's agriculture, aquaculture and tobacco markets offer useful case material.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory applied to a named business, with an internal assessment that needs real data from an actual organisation.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Unseen-text analysis, a comparative essay and an oral. Telugu-medium students need sustained essay-structure practice.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms, data structures and a documented solution for the internal assessment.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Named studies, sharp evaluation and timed extended responses.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Systems reasoning applied to coastal, agricultural and water issues close to home.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case-study depth, a sound fieldwork method and evaluation, with cyclone and coastal topics familiar to the region.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis and sustained argument across two different paper types.

IB Hindi B and Telugu

HL / SL

Comprehension, text types and unscripted conversation for the oral, in whichever language the school offers.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Discussion of knowledge questions and feedback on how an exhibition commentary is reasoned.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel both award the IGCSE but write different papers, so board and tier are settled first, then the plan runs back from the sitting: Cambridge in May-June or October-November, Edexcel in January or May-June.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended needs tidy working and speed; method marks disappear quickly when steps are skipped.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Calculus and trigonometry come early, which suits students who will later need IB HL or JEE-level algebra.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Overlaps with Cambridge but phrases questions differently, so board-specific papers are used.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Equations, electricity and the alternative-to-practical paper.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, reactivity and salt-identification tests.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Exact vocabulary and data-handling questions.

IGCSE Combined and Co-ordinated Sciences

Core / Extended

Three sciences in a single award.

IGCSE English as a Second Language

Grade 9-10

Summary, directed writing and listening for students whose home language is Telugu.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Definitions, diagrams and data response.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Case answers that use the named firm's own figures.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode, logic and reading unfamiliar code.

IGCSE Hindi and Telugu as second languages

Grade 9-10

Reading, writing and speaking for schools that offer them.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Kandukur school timetables

Kandukur has one delivery route, online. Nobody visits homes here; in-person sessions at a student's house are available only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The modes below differ in how intense and how long they are.

Steady weekly online lessons

A regular hour on video and a shared board, using your child's own books, notes and past papers at their own desk.

  • A private class at home, no bus trip to Ongole or Nellore
  • One tutor across the term, who learns how your child thinks
  • Papers marked live with the student watching
  • Timed to avoid junior-college classes and power-cut hours

Pre-exam push

Two or three lessons a week for the last several weeks before a school exam or the May or November series.

  • Topic list built at the first session
  • Timed papers with honest marking
  • Mark-scheme phrasing practised
  • Stops when the paper is sat

Bridge before a school change

A few weeks of lessons before a child joins a new school or board, filling in English and subject vocabulary.

  • Two or three priority subjects
  • Help with entrance tests
  • A written handover for the new teachers
  • Flexible start and finish

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Kandukur

01

Where would a Kandukur child actually study IB or IGCSE?

  • No IB or Cambridge school is confirmed in Kandukur or Ongole
  • Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Chennai are the usual boarding targets
  • Tuition helps a child test the syllabus before committing to boarding fees
  • Verify each school's authorisation and results yourself

Not in Kandukur, as far as we can tell. The municipality counts 26 schools, seven government and nineteen private, and the ones we could check teach the state syllabus or CBSE. Directory sites show no IB or Cambridge school for the town, and Ongole, the district headquarters about 45 km away, has none confirmed either.

Families who want the curriculum look to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Chennai or Hyderabad, and most of those are boarding decisions taken around Class 6 or Class 9. That is a significant step for a family with a child of eleven or fourteen. A few parents move the whole household instead, particularly when a business or a job makes a larger city practical.

That background explains the requests we receive. One parent wants to test whether a child copes with IGCSE-style questions before paying boarding fees. Another has a boarder coming home for Dasara and wants two subjects kept on track. A third is comparing the Andhra intermediate route with IB before choosing a Class 11 school.

When you speak to a school, ask which boards and tiers it is authorised to run, how recent results compare across years and how mid-year joiners are handled. Tutors can prepare a student for an entrance test, but admission belongs to the school.

The clusters on this page are therefore labelled as nearby-city options, and we would rather say so openly than suggest a local network that does not exist.

02

AP State Board, CBSE, IGCSE and IB: what really changes for a student?

The Andhra Pradesh State Board and CBSE dominate Kandukur classrooms. Both assess largely through written papers set on a prescribed textbook. IGCSE keeps written papers but asks for exact definitions, shown calculations and reading of data, and the sciences add a practical-skills paper. IB adds sustained internal work, oral assessment and extended writing on top.

For a student from a Telugu-medium school the biggest shift is often language, not content. Writing a four-mark science explanation in clear English is a separate skill from knowing the science. Steady practice with mark schemes closes that gap faster than extra reading.

Indian competitive exams add a twist. Andhra students commonly enter junior colleges with heavy timetables aimed at JEE or NEET, and an international curriculum does not fit easily beside that. Families need to decide early whether the target is an Indian entrance exam, a foreign degree or both, because the choice determines subject selection.

The table below sets out the main differences as families usually ask about them.

How the boards differ for a Kandukur student
BoardWhat earns marksPractical or courseworkMain adjustment from the AP State Board

03

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost, and what decides it?

  • Quotes are in writing before booking
  • Tutor rarity, level and weekly hours shape the rate
  • A trial lesson precedes any payment
  • No travel costs, because lessons are online

IB Gram keeps no public price list. A written quote arrives before you book, and it is shaped by the tutor's depth in your child's exact course, the level, the weekly hours and the plan's length. Where you live in India plays no part.

Rarity counts most. Few teachers have recently taught IB Physics HL or IGCSE Additional Mathematics, so those tutors command a higher rate than a generalist. Higher Level and Extended work demands more preparation per hour. A short intensive before an exam is priced differently from a year-long weekly plan.

Kandukur families often compare this with the fee for a junior-college or corporate coaching batch. Those seats cost less per hour because the teacher's time is shared among many, and they suit entrance-exam drilling. A one-to-one lesson costs more per hour and buys undivided attention for a student who is behind or unusually ahead.

Because lessons are online, there is no petrol or bus fare in the equation. A trial lesson at no charge lets you judge the tutor first, and another tutor is arranged if the match is wrong.

04

Online home tuition, junior-college coaching or self-study: which route suits?

Three options usually sit on the table in an Andhra town: a corporate-style coaching batch in Ongole or Nellore, a local private tutor, and online one-to-one tuition. Self-study with past papers is the fourth and is more viable than many families assume.

Coaching batches are built for state-board and entrance-exam work. They do that well but rarely cover IGCSE or IB papers at the level of a specific mark scheme. A local tutor is easy to reach and cheap, but few will have taught the international syllabus.

Online tuition closes that gap by drawing on any specialist in India. The price is reliance on electricity and a connection, both of which need planning during the cyclone season.

05

What does the Kandukur year look like, and when are the exams?

IB Diploma papers run in May and November, with May the main session in India. Cambridge IGCSE is held in May-June and October-November, Edexcel in January and May-June. Your school names the entry series, and lessons count back from it.

The coastal Andhra year has its own pressure points. April to June is fiercely hot and humid, and afternoon study is unrealistic. The south-west monsoon is modest here, but the north-east monsoon from October to December brings the real rain, and cyclones from the Bay of Bengal can cut power for days. January is cooler and suits focused revision.

Festivals matter too. Sankranti, the big harvest festival in January, empties towns for a week. Ugadi, Vinayaka Chavithi and Dasara all interrupt routines, and many families travel. Online lessons can move at short notice, which a coaching batch cannot.

06

Where can a Kandukur student go after an international syllabus?

  • AIU equivalence and CUET-UG mapping are best checked a year early
  • JEE and NEET depend on the exact subject combination
  • State options include Andhra University, SVU and IIT Tirupati
  • Overseas universities judge each result individually

The destination should be fixed before subjects are locked. For Indian universities, the Association of Indian Universities recognises IB Diploma and many IGCSE-based qualifications as equivalent to Class 12, and CUET-UG is the common route for central universities. Specific subject mappings and registration rules should be checked a year in advance.

Engineering aspirants in Andhra often aim for IIT Tirupati, NIT Andhra Pradesh at Tadepalligudem, IIIT campuses and the wider JEE system. Medical aspirants look at NEET and state counselling. IB and IGCSE students can apply if they meet the subject and equivalence conditions, though notices change and should be read freshly each year.

Within the state, Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University and private universities are the usual stops, and many Telugu families look at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The diaspora link makes study in the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia a serious option, and each of those systems reads IB, A Level and IGCSE results in its own way. A tutor can explain which subjects carry most weight for a chosen course, while decisions stay with the university.

07

What does a live IB Mathematics or science lesson look like?

A Mathematics lesson starts with one or two problems chosen to expose the student's habits. The tutor asks the student to talk while writing on the shared board, because the spoken reasoning reveals whether the gap is algebra, reading the question or checking the answer. The session then turns to a past-paper section at the right level, AA or AI, HL or SL.

Science lessons follow the same rhythm with extra attention to method. A tutor cannot run an experiment over video, but can rehearse experimental design, uncertainty and evaluation, which together drive internal-assessment marks. Data-based past-paper questions can be practised without any apparatus.

Short, regular practice wins over rare marathons. After each lesson the student does a small timed set, logs errors and brings the log to the next session. The tutor watches patterns across weeks and adjusts the plan.

The student chooses the research question and writes every assessed piece. The tutor comments and questions, and that line is firm.

08

How should a Kandukur student pick between Core and Extended IGCSE papers?

IGCSE subjects usually come in Core and Extended tiers. Core limits the top grade, while Extended reaches A*. The school normally decides, but parents can ask, because the tier shapes later options, especially entry to IB Mathematics AA HL.

Subject choice follows the plan. Engineering or medicine points to Mathematics, the three sciences and possibly Additional Mathematics. Commerce or law points to Economics, Business Studies and English. A family that might return to the AP system at Class 11 should check how local junior colleges treat IGCSE grades.

Cambridge and Edexcel differ in calendar and question style, so past papers come from the right board. For a Telugu-medium student, English as a Second Language and written explanation in every subject deserve steady weekly practice.

Why families choose us

What Kandukur parents tell us matters most

Specialists, not the nearest teacher

A town without an IB or Cambridge school has few who know the papers, so we look across India for the one who does.

Honest about format

Every lesson is online, and in-person sessions exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

Fits around cyclone season and festivals

Power cuts, Sankranti, Dasara and junior-college hours are built into the timetable.

Parents read what happened

A short note after each lesson records topics, mistakes and next steps.

Coaching with clear limits

Tutors never write an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework.

An easy way out

If the match is wrong, another tutor is arranged, and rates are always written down first.

Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Kandukur: your questions answered

Can Kandukur students get IB and IGCSE tutors?+

They can, online. IB Gram links Kandukur students to IB and IGCSE tutors who teach live on video, one to one, in Indian Standard Time. A tutor does not come to the town, since visits to a student's house are run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Each teacher is chosen for your child's exact board, tier and level, and the opening lesson is free.

Is IB or IGCSE home tuition offered in Kandukur?+

As online home tuition, yes; as a home visit, no. The lesson takes place at your own table, through a laptop, with a teacher elsewhere in India. Nobody comes to a Kandukur house, because in-person tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The upside is a choice of specialist far wider than any small town could supply locally.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Kandukur?+

We could not find one, and neither did directory listings for the town. Its schools, about two dozen by the municipality's count, teach the state board or CBSE. The nearest IB and Cambridge schools we know of are in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. Confirm any school's authorisation with the school itself before applying, since offerings change from year to year.

What will IB or IGCSE tuition cost us in Kandukur?+

That depends on the tutor's specialism, the level, the hours per week and how long the plan runs, and we do not publish a rate card. A written quote reaches you before booking and the first lesson is free. Higher Level Diploma and Extended IGCSE tutors usually cost more than a generalist because preparation is heavier and such teachers are harder to find.

Our child studies in Telugu medium. Can IGCSE still work?+

Yes, though the first term needs care. The hurdle is expressing scientific and mathematical ideas in English, not the ideas themselves. A tutor can drill written explanations, command words and mark-scheme language over a few months. Starting before the new school year, rather than after a disappointing first test, gives the child a calmer start and more confidence.

Do you teach both Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE?+

We do. The two boards set different papers, tier structures and mark schemes, so the board is confirmed before a tutor is matched. Cambridge papers fall in May-June and October-November, Edexcel in January and May-June. Your school tells you which series your child has been entered for, and lessons are planned backwards from that date.

Will a tutor write the IA or Extended Essay?+

No, and any tutor who offers to is not one we would place. Ours can clarify the criteria, test whether a question is workable and respond to a draft the student wrote. They do not write, rewrite or heavily edit Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays or coursework, because the student must present the work as their own.

How do cyclones and power cuts affect lessons?+

Storms between October and December can take out electricity and mobile data for a day or longer. Keep a charged laptop and a phone hotspot ready, and tell us as early as you can. A session can be moved with notice and a missed one is normally made up. Whiteboard lessons need little data, so they often survive a weak signal.

What device and connection does the student need?+

A laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone is enough, along with a connection that can hold a video call. The shared board uses little data, and the camera can be turned off if the signal dips. Try everything during the free trial, use a headset if the house is noisy and keep a printed paper for handwritten practice.

My child has junior-college classes. Can lessons still fit?+

Usually yes. Online slots can be placed after the college day or early on a weekend, and they can be dropped to one hour a week during heavy test periods. Tell the tutor about the timetable at the start. If the combined load looks unrealistic for the child, the tutor will say so plainly rather than add hours regardless.

Can you help with entrance tests for an IB or Cambridge school?+

Within limits, yes. Schools often test English and Mathematics, sometimes reasoning, for entry in Class 6, 9 or 11, and a tutor can practise that material and build spoken confidence. A school's decision is its own. IB Gram has no partnership with or influence over any school, so treat our role as preparation, not a route to admission.

Can an IB or IGCSE student still sit JEE or NEET?+

Often, but eligibility notices are revised, so read the latest from the exam authority. What counts is the right subject mix and a recognised Class 12 equivalence. An IB student with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology usually stands in a reasonable position. Tutors help with the subjects; certificates and forms are for the family and school.

Are lessons in Telugu, Hindi or English?+

English is the working language, since the papers are in English. A tutor may explain a stubborn idea briefly in Hindi if that helps, and Telugu or Hindi can be taught as subjects where the school offers them. Answers in the exam must be in English, so the student practises writing them that way from the first month.

How do we begin from Kandukur?+

Send the board, subject, level and exam date by email or WhatsApp. A shortlisted tutor and open trial times come back, and the trial costs nothing. Rates are sent in writing once you have seen the teaching. Write to support@ibgram.com or message +91 7439 368 115, and tell us if power cuts or college hours limit certain evenings.

Will we get written feedback?+

Yes. After every lesson the tutor sends a brief note on what was covered, which questions went wrong and what to practise next. Every few weeks there is a wider review of whether the plan is working. If progress is slow, we change the method or the tutor and give the reasons in writing, so parents are not left wondering.

Is IB Gram part of the IB, Cambridge or Pearson?+

No. IB Gram is a separate tutoring service with no tie to the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge University Press and Assessment, Pearson Edexcel or any school named here. Our tutors are experienced teachers based in India who work from published specifications and past papers, and do not claim any inside knowledge of examiners or marking panels.
