Tutoring

IGCSE Physics and Chemistry home tutor — New Gurgaon, Sectors 82 to 95

Extended-tier Cambridge Physics and Chemistry for Years 10 and 11 in New Gurgaon, where the school commute is long and an evening home session after 6pm is the only workable slot.

New Gurgaon, Sectors 82 to 95 (home tuition) Freelance, part time or full time IGCSE Physics 0625 and Chemistry 0620 (Extended)

Role Overview

New Gurgaon families send their children a long way to school, so the student is home late and tired, and a 90-minute evening session has to be genuinely well planned to be worth anything. This route suits tutors who already live on this side of the city and are not fighting the Golf Course Road commute twice a day.

Job Description

Both subjects are taught at Extended tier with the alternative-to-practical paper included, which is marked harshly and is rarely practised at school.

Physics here is mostly electricity, forces and waves. Chemistry is moles, rates and the qualitative analysis tables students try to memorise instead of understand.

Many of these students are heading into the IB Diploma locally, so Year 11 work should set up DP sciences rather than stop at the Cambridge paper.

This is in-person teaching at the student's home. You list the areas you can genuinely reach and we only send you requests inside Sectors 82 to 95, Vatika India Next, Sobha International City, Tulip Homes and the New Gurgaon edge of the Dwarka Expressway. Declining a location, a society or a timing costs you nothing and needs no explanation.

The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50. That is our one-time charge for finding the family, arranging the demo and setting up the match. From the second month you keep 100% of the fee for as long as you teach that student, which works out at roughly 98% of a two-year engagement. Payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan 90-minute evening sessions that a tired student can actually use.
  • Practise alternative-to-practical questions throughout, not in the last month.
  • Cover both subjects on an agreed split rather than letting the weaker one take every session.
  • Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
  • Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
  • Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
  • Keep agreed session times and give at least 24 hours' notice through IB Gram if a session has to move.

Requirements

  • Both 0625 and 0620 at Extended tier, including Paper 6 alternative to practical.
  • Comfort teaching two sciences to the same student inside one session block.
  • A realistic view of travel inside New Gurgaon at 6pm, and the discipline to keep the slot anyway.
  • A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
  • Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
  • Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
  • Reliable travel to the listed areas at the times you have offered, in real traffic.

Nice To Have

  • Experience bridging IGCSE sciences into IB DP Group 4 subjects.
  • Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
  • Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.

Benefits

  • You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
  • Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
  • No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
  • Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
  • You define your travel zones and can change them whenever you like.
