IGCSE Maths and Additional Maths home tutor — Sectors 56 and 57, Gurgaon
Extended-tier IGCSE Mathematics and the Additional Mathematics 0606 paper, taught in person around the Sector 57 school belt.
Role Overview
Additional Mathematics decides whether a student can take Maths AA HL in the Diploma, and it is taught thinly almost everywhere because it sits outside the core timetable. Families book this role specifically for 0606, then often discover that the 0580 Extended foundations underneath are not solid either.
Job Description
Students here are largely at schools like Scottish High International School and Lancers International School, sitting Cambridge papers in the May/June series with mocks in January.
0606 brings calculus, binomial expansion, logarithms and kinematics that 0580 never touches, so the teaching order has to run ahead of school rather than alongside it.
A regular part of the work is the Core-to-Extended decision: telling a family honestly in Year 10 whether the student should change tier, while there is still time for it to matter.
This is in-person teaching at the student's home. You list the areas you can genuinely reach and we only send you requests inside Sectors 55, 56 and 57, Sushant Lok Phases 2 and 3, Rosewood City and Uppal Southend. Declining a location, a society or a timing costs you nothing and needs no explanation.
The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50. That is our one-time charge for finding the family, arranging the demo and setting up the match. From the second month you keep 100% of the fee for as long as you teach that student, which works out at roughly 98% of a two-year engagement. Payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.
Responsibilities
- Run a tier diagnostic in the first session and state plainly whether Core or Extended fits.
- Teach 0606 ahead of the school timetable so that revision is revision, not first exposure.
- Mark full past papers to Cambridge mark schemes and go through the method marks lost.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
- Keep agreed session times and give at least 24 hours' notice through IB Gram if a session has to move.
Requirements
- Both 0580 Extended and 0606 to full paper standard, including the calculus and kinematics in 0606.
- Knowledge of Cambridge mark scheme conventions, especially method marks and accuracy penalties.
- A clear view of what AA HL will demand next, so that Year 11 teaching points forward.
- A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
- Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
- Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
- Reliable travel to the listed areas at the times you have offered, in real traffic.
Nice To Have
- Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE to Maths AA HL transition.
- Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
- Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.
Benefits
- You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
- Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
- No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
- Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
- You define your travel zones and can change them whenever you like.
