Tutoring
IGCSE Chemistry 0620 online tutor — India (remote)
Extended-tier Cambridge Chemistry taught online to Year 10 and 11 students across India, including the alternative-to-practical paper.
Role Overview
0620 is a calculation paper wearing a content paper's clothes. Moles, stoichiometry, rates and electrolysis decide the grade, and the qualitative analysis tables that students try to memorise are better understood than learned. Online teaching with a shared whiteboard handles all of it well.
Job Description
Paper 6, the alternative to practical, is marked tightly and is rarely practised enough at school.
Mole calculations need drilling to automaticity rather than being taught once and revisited before the mock.
Students sit both the May/June and October/November series, so the revision calendar is set per student.
All teaching on this role is online, from your own device and connection. Families expect a shared whiteboard, screen share and written working they can keep afterwards, not a camera pointed at a notebook.
Online classes pay you 70% of the fee every month, with no first-month split and no joining fee. You set the fee, we publish it unchanged, and payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.
Responsibilities
- Confirm the exam series before planning revision.
- Practise alternative-to-practical questions from the first month.
- Set short calculation drills between sessions and review them.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
- Teach from a quiet space with a stable connection, and send written working after each session.
Requirements
- 0620 Extended across all papers, including Paper 6.
- Mole and stoichiometry teaching that gets to fluency rather than familiarity.
- A shared whiteboard setup that makes equations and working visible live.
- A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
- Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
- Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
- A quiet room, a connection that holds a video call, and a device that handles screen share and a writing tablet.
Nice To Have
- Experience bridging 0620 into IB Chemistry or A Level.
- Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
- Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.
Benefits
- You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
- Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
- No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
- Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
- Teach from anywhere, in the hours you have told us you are available.
