Tutoring
IGCSE Accounting and Economics online tutor — India (remote)
Online Cambridge Accounting and Economics for Years 10 and 11 across India, covering the ledger work and the applied economics answers.
Role Overview
Accounting 0452 is one of the few IGCSEs where a student can go from a 4 to an 8 inside a term, because the marks are procedural and the procedures are learnable. Economics alongside it is the opposite: application and evaluation, which take longer to build.
Job Description
Accounting is drilled: double entry, control accounts, adjustments and final accounts, practised until the layout is automatic.
Economics requires applied answers with accurate diagrams and a real evaluation paragraph, which students substitute with description.
Taken together, the two subjects need deliberately different session shapes rather than a shared approach.
All teaching on this role is online, from your own device and connection. Families expect a shared whiteboard, screen share and written working they can keep afterwards, not a camera pointed at a notebook.
Online classes pay you 70% of the fee every month, with no first-month split and no joining fee. You set the fee, we publish it unchanged, and payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.
Responsibilities
- Drill accounting layouts until they are automatic under time.
- Mark economics answers against the command term and the evaluation requirement.
- Keep the two subjects on separate session plans.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
- Teach from a quiet space with a stable connection, and send written working after each session.
Requirements
- 0452 to full paper standard including adjustments and final accounts.
- 0455 with accurate diagrams and evaluative answer structure.
- The judgement to teach one subject as drill and the other as argument.
- A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
- Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
- Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
- A quiet room, a connection that holds a video call, and a device that handles screen share and a writing tablet.
Nice To Have
- A professional accounting background, or experience teaching A Level Accounting.
- Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
- Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.
Benefits
- You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
- Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
- No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
- Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
- Teach from anywhere, in the hours you have told us you are available.
