Role Overview

The IB and Cambridge curricula are the same in Dubai, Delhi, Singapore and Surrey. That is the whole reason this work travels: teach the syllabus you know to students anywhere, from wherever you happen to live.

Job Description

IB and IGCSE tutor jobs worldwide at IB Gram are freelance online engagements with students across India, the UAE and wider Gulf, the UK, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. You teach from wherever you live, publish your availability in your own time zone, and keep a flat 70% of every fee. You are responsible for any work authorisation or tax obligation in your own jurisdiction. Payouts are monthly, on the 1st.

The reason international-curriculum tutoring travels is that the curriculum does not change with the country. A Maths AA Higher Level student in Dubai, Bengaluru, Kuala Lumpur and Surrey is working from the same syllabus towards the same papers in the same examination session. The syllabus you already know is the product, and geography is close to irrelevant to it.

What is scarce is depth. Any given international school might have one Physics HL teacher, one Economics HL teacher, and nobody at all who can supervise an Extended Essay in Psychology. When those students need help, the nearest qualified person is frequently in another country. That gap is what we match across.

For you the practical effect is that your addressable market stops being your city and becomes every time zone your free hours overlap. A tutor with a wide evening window can hold students on three continents in one week, which is not a theoretical possibility — it is how a good share of our tutors actually work.

What you earn teaching internationally

You set your fee and we publish it unchanged. Because this is online work, the terms are the simplest we have: a flat 70% to you and a 30% platform fee, every month, from your first class to your last. There is no reduced opening month the way there is with in-person home tuition.

That 30% covers more than matching when the work crosses borders. It covers invoicing families in their own currency, collecting across different payment systems, chasing late payment in another country and time zone, scheduling across offsets, and finding you a replacement student if one stops. Those are the parts that are genuinely difficult to do yourself as an individual tutor working internationally.

Rates differ substantially by market, and it is worth knowing where you sit. Gulf and UK families generally pay the most for equivalent work, Singapore and Hong Kong are strong, and Indian rates are lower but the volume is much larger. Many tutors deliberately build a mixed timetable for exactly that reason — a few higher-rate international students and a base of steady local ones.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Worldwide students one to one, matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
  • Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a fixed syllabus of your own.
  • Prepare students for the assessment model of their stage, including internal assessment and exam technique where it applies.
  • Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
  • Keep agreed session times, and give notice through IB Gram if a session must move.
  • Report progress to the family at the review points agreed at the start of the engagement.
  • Teach online across time zones using your own device and connection.

Requirements

  • Subject command at the level you teach. A degree or teaching qualification in the subject, or a track record with IB or IGCSE students at that level. You should be comfortable a level above what you teach.
  • Knowledge of the assessment model. Your IGCSE board's papers and mark schemes, or the Diploma's internal assessment, HL and SL distinctions and grade boundaries. This is what makes your knowledge portable across countries.
  • Work authorisation and tax compliance where you live. Yours to establish, not ours to grant. IB Gram is a matching platform, not your employer. Whether you may accept paid freelance work, and what you owe on it, is governed by the country you are physically in.
  • Reliable broadband and a professional space. A stable connection, working camera and microphone, quiet room and plain background. Across time zones a dropped or missed class is hard to re-book, so a backup connection genuinely matters.
  • Government photo ID for verification. Passport or national photo ID, reviewed before your profile goes live. An identity check, not a police or criminal-records check, and your profile states that.

Nice To Have

  • Experience across more than one school system. Not required, but valuable. A tutor who has taught in two countries reads an unfamiliar school's expectations faster, and international families notice it.

Benefits

  • Students across India, the Gulf, the UK, Europe and Southeast Asia
  • Flat 70% of every online fee, from your first class onwards
  • Both the May and November exam sessions — no quiet season
  • Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement
  • Your compliance is your responsibility
  • Online classes: 70% to you, 30% platform fee
  • Paid monthly, on the 1st
  • Your split is locked
