Tutoring

IB and IGCSE online tutor for NRI and returning families — India (remote)

Online teaching for families moving between school systems or time zones: curriculum-gap diagnosis and teaching across IB and Cambridge, Years 7 to 12.

India (online) Freelance, part time or full time IB MYP, IB DP and IGCSE (Years 7 to 12)

Role Overview

A student arriving mid-year from a different system usually has gaps that nobody has mapped, and schools rarely have time to find them. This role starts with a diagnostic rather than a syllabus, then teaches to whatever the gap turns out to be. It also requires flexibility about hours, because these families are often in other time zones.

Job Description

The first two sessions are diagnostic, and the written gap analysis that follows is part of what the family is paying for.

Teaching may span two boards for the same student, especially where a mid-year move means finishing one syllabus and preparing for another.

Time zones matter: you set the hours you will teach and we only match families inside them.

All teaching on this role is online, from your own device and connection. Families expect a shared whiteboard, screen share and written working they can keep afterwards, not a camera pointed at a notebook.

Online classes pay you 70% of the fee every month, with no first-month split and no joining fee. You set the fee, we publish it unchanged, and payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.

Responsibilities

  • Run a structured diagnostic before teaching anything and share it in writing.
  • Teach to the gap rather than to a syllabus order.
  • Set and keep your own time-zone window rather than taking whatever is offered.
  • Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
  • Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
  • Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
  • Teach from a quiet space with a stable connection, and send written working after each session.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of both IB and Cambridge assessment models at Years 7 to 12.
  • Diagnostic ability: finding the gap rather than restarting from the beginning of a textbook.
  • Willingness to teach outside Indian school hours where the family is abroad.
  • A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
  • Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
  • Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
  • A quiet room, a connection that holds a video call, and a device that handles screen share and a writing tablet.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in more than one school system, or with students relocating mid-year.
  • Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
  • Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.

Benefits

  • You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
  • Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
  • No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
  • Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
  • Teach from anywhere, in the hours you have told us you are available.
