IB and IGCSE home tuition jobs
IB and IGCSE home tuition jobs at IB Gram are freelance in-person engagements in areas you choose. You list the zones you can travel to and we only match you with students inside them. The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50; from the second month you keep 100% for as long as you teach them. Payouts are monthly on the 1st.
Role Overview
You pick the areas you can actually reach, we only send you students inside them, and after the first month every rupee of the fee is yours. No travel you did not agree to, no cut we keep taking.
Job Description
IB and IGCSE home tuition jobs at IB Gram are freelance in-person engagements in areas you choose. You list the zones you can travel to and we only match you with students inside them. The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50; from the second month you keep 100% for as long as you teach them. Payouts are monthly on the 1st.
Most platforms take a percentage of every class you ever teach. We do not, for home tuition. The first month with each new student is split 50-50 — that is our one-time fee for finding the family, arranging the demo and setting up the match — and from the second month we take nothing at all, for as long as the engagement lasts.
Over a long engagement that arithmetic becomes substantial. A student you teach for two years pays you roughly 98% of everything they are billed. Six months works out around 92%. That is the deliberate trade: we only make money from home tuition by introducing you to new students, so the only way we stay useful to you is to keep doing it.
What home tuition costs you is travel, and that is the part we try hardest to get right. You list the specific areas, sectors or neighbourhoods you can genuinely reach, and we only send you requests inside them. You are never penalised for declining a location, and you never have to explain why.
The home tuition arithmetic, in full
You set your own monthly or per-class fee and we publish it unchanged. The family sees it before they book the demo, so there is no negotiation after you have taught. What we take is fixed and depends only on how long you keep teaching that student.
The split is per student. Each new student you take on has their own first month at 50-50, so a tutor adding a student every month will always have one engagement in its first month. That is the cost of growth, and it falls away for every student who stays.
If a student stops partway through the first month, the 50-50 split applies only to the fees actually paid for classes that took place. You are never billed against work you did not do.
Responsibilities
- Teach Home tuition students one to one, matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a fixed syllabus of your own.
- Prepare students for the assessment model of their stage, including internal assessment and exam technique where it applies.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Keep agreed session times, and give notice through IB Gram if a session must move.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed at the start of the engagement.
Requirements
- Subject command at the level you teach. A degree or teaching qualification in the subject, or a demonstrable track record with IB or IGCSE students at that level. You should be comfortable a level above what you teach.
- Knowledge of the IB or IGCSE assessment model. You should be able to talk about how your stage is assessed — criteria and task-specific clarifications in MYP, internal assessment and grade boundaries in DP, your board's papers and mark schemes at IGCSE.
- Government photo ID for verification. Reviewed before your profile goes live. This is an identity check, not a police or criminal-records check, and your profile says so rather than implying more. It matters more here because you are entering a family's home.
- Realistic, reliable travel to the zones you list. List only areas you can reach consistently in traffic, in monsoon, on a weekday evening. Over-listing produces cancellations, and cancellations are what end home engagements.
- Willingness to follow safeguarding rules without exception. Teaching in a common area with an adult in the house is not negotiable. If a family offers you a closed room, you ask to move. A breach ends the engagement.
Nice To Have
- Your own transport. Not required, but it widens your viable zones considerably and makes evening slots in outer areas workable where public transport would not.
Benefits
- You list your travel areas; we never send you outside them
- 100% of the fee is yours from the second month onwards
- Decline any location, society or timing without giving a reason
- Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement
- 50-50 for the first month, then 100% yours
- If a student stops in month one
- Safeguarding: common area, adult present
- No private contact with students under 18
