Tutoring

IB and IGCSE exam revision online tutor — India (remote)

Short-cycle online revision teaching for final-year IB and IGCSE students across India: past papers, mark schemes and exam technique in the last two terms.

India (online) Freelance, part time or full time IB DP Year 2 and IGCSE Year 11 revision

Role Overview

This is deliberately short-engagement work. Families come in January or March wanting six to twelve weeks of focused revision before final exams, and the job is triage: find the topics worth fixing in the time left, and stop teaching the ones that are not.

Job Description

The work is past papers, mark schemes and timing rather than first teaching of content, so it suits tutors who know the papers very well.

Honest triage is the core skill: telling a student which topics to abandon is often worth more than another hour on the hardest one.

Engagements are short and intense, usually three or four sessions a week across six to twelve weeks.

All teaching on this role is online, from your own device and connection. Families expect a shared whiteboard, screen share and written working they can keep afterwards, not a camera pointed at a notebook.

Online classes pay you 70% of the fee every month, with no first-month split and no joining fee. You set the fee, we publish it unchanged, and payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.

Responsibilities

  • Open with a past paper under exam conditions and plan from the result.
  • Mark to the official mark scheme and go through the marks lost, not the answers.
  • Say plainly which topics are not worth the remaining time.
  • Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
  • Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
  • Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
  • Teach from a quiet space with a stable connection, and send written working after each session.

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with past papers and mark schemes in at least two subjects.
  • The judgement to triage a syllabus under time pressure and say what to drop.
  • Composure with students and families who are anxious and short of time.
  • A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
  • Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
  • Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
  • A quiet room, a connection that holds a video call, and a device that handles screen share and a writing tablet.

Nice To Have

  • Examining experience, which makes the triage judgement far more reliable.
  • Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
  • Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.

Benefits

  • You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
  • Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
  • No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
  • Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
  • Teach from anywhere, in the hours you have told us you are available.
