Role Overview
Hyderabad's IB cohort is concentrated and growing, and Physics HL is consistently the subject where the local supply of tutors runs out. Most engagements here start because the family could not find anyone who had actually taught the IB course rather than a national-curriculum equivalent.
Job Description
The IB Physics course is not the Indian Class 11 and 12 syllabus with different numbering. Tutors who teach it as such are the reason these students need rescuing.
Mechanics and fields take most of the teaching time, followed by the uncertainty treatment that Paper 3 and the IA both depend on.
Gachibowli to Jubilee Hills is manageable in an evening. Anything crossing to the old city is not, and should be declined rather than promised.
This is in-person teaching at the student's home. You list the areas you can genuinely reach and we only send you requests inside Gachibowli, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Kondapur, Madhapur and the Financial District. Declining a location, a society or a timing costs you nothing and needs no explanation.
The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50. That is our one-time charge for finding the family, arranging the demo and setting up the match. From the second month you keep 100% of the fee for as long as you teach that student, which works out at roughly 98% of a two-year engagement. Payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.
Responsibilities
- Teach the IB course as the IB assesses it, not as a relabelled national syllabus.
- Support IA design and data treatment to the five criteria.
- Run timed Paper 1 and Paper 2 practice through DP2.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
- Keep agreed session times and give at least 24 hours' notice through IB Gram if a session has to move.
Requirements
- The IB Physics HL course specifically, including one option and Paper 3 technique.
- Uncertainty, error propagation and graph linearisation taught to IB conventions.
- Honest coverage of a defined west Hyderabad radius.
- A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
- Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
- Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
- Reliable travel to the listed areas at the times you have offered, in real traffic.
Nice To Have
- Experience with both IB Physics and A Level Physics, for students switching systems.
- Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
- Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.
