Tutoring

IB DP Mathematics AI tutor — Sohna Road and Sectors 48 to 49, Gurgaon

Applications and Interpretation at Higher and Standard Level, taught at home or online, with the technology-heavy paper work and the modelling IA that AI students underestimate.

Sohna Road and Sectors 48 to 49, Gurgaon (home, hybrid or online) Freelance, part time or full time IB DP Mathematics AI (HL and SL)

Role Overview

AI is chosen as the easier mathematics and then surprises students with statistics, modelling and a graphical display calculator nobody has taught them to drive. AI HL in particular is not easy, carrying matrices, graph theory and complex numbers, and students who chose it to avoid work are in trouble by DP2.

Job Description

Calculator technique is examinable here in a way it is not in AA: regression, distributions, numerical solutions, and the ability to get them right under time pressure.

Statistics and probability carry the largest share of the course and of the lost marks, including hypothesis testing at HL.

The IA is a modelling task with real data, and the mark depends on the mathematics being genuinely used rather than decorating a topic the student likes.

You decide per student whether you teach at their home, online, or a mix of the two. Most engagements on this role start in person and move revision sessions online. In-person requests only come from Sectors 47 to 50, Nirvana Country, Vatika City and the Sohna Road service lanes.

In-person students follow the home tuition split: the first month is 50-50, then 100% is yours for as long as the engagement lasts. Online sessions pay you 70% of the fee with no first-month split. Both are paid out on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the calculator explicitly, as examined content rather than as a tool.
  • Make statistics the backbone of the teaching plan, not an end-of-course topic.
  • Hold the IA to genuine mathematical use of real data.
  • Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
  • Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
  • Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
  • Keep agreed session times and give at least 24 hours' notice through IB Gram if a session has to move.

Requirements

  • The full AI course at both HL and SL, including matrices, graph theory and complex numbers at HL.
  • Fluent GDC teaching on the calculator model the student's school uses.
  • Experience supervising modelling-based Mathematics IAs with real datasets.
  • A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
  • Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
  • Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
  • Reliable travel to the listed areas at the times you have offered, in real traffic.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with both AA and AI, so you can advise on a mid-DP1 switch.
  • Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
  • Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.

Benefits

  • You set your own fee and we publish it unchanged, so there is no negotiation after you have taught.
  • Students are matched to you by programme, subject and level before you accept.
  • No joining fee, no subscription and no exclusivity - teach elsewhere as well.
  • Monthly payouts on the 1st with an itemised statement.
  • You choose per student whether the engagement is in person, online or mixed.
