IB DP Mathematics AA HL home tutor — Golf Course Road, Gurgaon
Teach IB Diploma Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level in person along Golf Course Road. Mostly DP1 and DP2 students carrying HL AA alongside two other Higher Level subjects.
Role Overview
Analysis and Approaches HL is the hardest line on most of these students' timetables, and it is usually the subject the school advises them to drop. The families on this route do not want it dropped. They want someone who can rebuild the algebra underneath the calculus fast enough that the student stays in HL and finishes the Internal Assessment on time.
Job Description
Students on this route are typically at schools like The Shri Ram School Aravali, Excelsior American School and Pathways, so you work to those schools' unit plans and mock dates rather than a syllabus order of your own.
The work splits roughly in three: repairing pre-DP algebra and trigonometry, teaching the HL-only content such as proof by induction, complex numbers, vectors and the harder calculus, and then paper technique against past Paper 1 and Paper 3 questions.
Expect two to three sessions a week per student, most often between 4pm and 9pm on weekdays, with longer weekend slots in the run-up to mocks.
This is in-person teaching at the student's home. You list the areas you can genuinely reach and we only send you requests inside DLF Phase 5, Sectors 42 and 43, Nirvana Country and the Golf Course Road corridor up to Sector 54. Declining a location, a society or a timing costs you nothing and needs no explanation.
The first month's fee for each new student is split 50-50. That is our one-time charge for finding the family, arranging the demo and setting up the match. From the second month you keep 100% of the fee for as long as you teach that student, which works out at roughly 98% of a two-year engagement. Payouts land on the 1st of each month with an itemised statement.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose the pre-DP algebra gaps in the first two sessions and tell the family plainly what is missing.
- Supervise the Mathematics IA to the school's deadlines without writing any part of it.
- Work past Paper 1, 2 and 3 questions under timed conditions in the eight weeks before mocks.
- Plan each session around the student's current school unit rather than a syllabus order of your own.
- Set and publish your own fee, and decline any student who is not a fit.
- Report progress to the family at the review points agreed when the engagement starts.
- Keep agreed session times and give at least 24 hours' notice through IB Gram if a session has to move.
Requirements
- Fluency across the whole AA HL course including Paper 3, not just the part that overlaps with SL.
- A worked understanding of the Mathematics IA criteria and what separates a 14 from a 17.
- The judgement to tell a student honestly when HL is not survivable, rather than taking the fee anyway.
- A degree in the subject or a closely related one. Teaching experience counts, but subject knowledge is checked first.
- Verified government ID and at least one credential we can confirm with the issuing institution.
- Two references we can contact, at least one from a school, college or family you have taught.
- Reliable travel to the listed areas at the times you have offered, in real traffic.

- Current or past IB examiner or IA moderator experience in Mathematics.
- Experience with the specific school's internal assessment calendar.
- Availability for a longer weekend slot in the eight weeks before mocks.
