IB and IGCSE Tutors in Jagraon: One-to-One Tuition Taught Online

Looking for private tuition at home in Jagraon for an IB or IGCSE syllabus? The nearest schools teaching either sit in Ludhiana or Chandigarh, so the practical answer is a specialist tutor on a live video call, one student at a time. Nobody travels to a Jagraon address; the tutor teaches from elsewhere in India, on Indian Standard Time, at an hour that survives fog season and the farm calendar.

  • Tutor picked for the exact course code and level your child sits, whichever school or distance provider it comes through
  • Every lesson is online; in-person home tuition exists only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, never in Jagraon
  • A full trial lesson comes first, with nothing to pay and no obligation to continue
  • Independent of the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and every school named on this page

IB & IGCSE in Jagraon

What IB and IGCSE tuition looks like for a Jagraon family

Jagraon is a grain-market town in Ludhiana district, about 37 km from the city of Ludhiana, and most of its children study under the Punjab School Education Board or CBSE. Why would a family here need IB or IGCSE help at all? Usually because a child is about to move, is already boarding, or because relatives in Canada, the UK or Australia have made an international syllabus part of the plan. IB Gram exists for that gap: a tutor who has taught the precise subject, working live with one student.

No IB or Cambridge school is confirmed inside Jagraon itself. The closest campuses known to us are in Ludhiana, in Mohali and in Chandigarh, and some Jagraon families send a child to board there from Class 6 or Class 9. That is why this page is written honestly around online delivery rather than pretending a local network exists. A student whose holidays are spent back in Jagraon still needs the syllabus kept moving, and a student at a distance provider needs a teacher at all.

Every session is held online. We do not send anyone to a house in Jagraon, because in-person home tuition runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What a Jagraon household gets in place of a visit is reach: the tutor is chosen from across India for the subject, not for the postcode, and the lesson happens on the same laptop where homework is done.

IB Gram is independent. We are not part of the IB, Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel or any school mentioned here, and tutors coach rather than write. Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays and coursework stay the student's own work.

At a glance

  • IB PYP, MYP and DP subject support, plus Core components
  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, Core and Extended, Foundation and Higher
  • Online one-to-one tuition from home, live, on IST
  • A free trial lesson and a short written note after every session
  • No home visits in Jagraon; that service covers only Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Jagraon school years

A child from the Jagraon belt usually meets IB or IGCSE at a turning point: a Class 6 or Class 9 admission to a boarding school, a family move abroad, or a parent deciding that Punjab Board marking is not the route. The notes below describe what each programme asks of a student and where a tutor typically helps.

PYPAges 3-12, Nursery to Class 6

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning runs through six transdisciplinary themes rather than timetabled subjects, ending in the Exhibition, a group inquiry in the final year. Tutoring is light and skills-led: reading aloud, number fluency, and learning to ask a question that is worth investigating.

For Jagraon families this usually means a child about to join a PYP school in Ludhiana or Chandigarh, where spoken English and inquiry habits decide how quickly the first term feels comfortable.

MYPAges 11-16, Class 6 to 10

IB Middle Years Programme

Eight subject groups are assessed against criteria, not just marks, and a Personal Project closes the programme. Students who memorise well often lose marks on application and reflection, which is the habit a tutor works on.

A Jagraon student arriving in MYP from a Punjab Board background typically needs help with criterion-based writing in Sciences and Individuals and Societies, and with planning a Personal Project over months instead of weeks.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects over two years, three at Higher Level, with TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS alongside. Internal Assessments count for a real share of each grade, so the work is spread across both years rather than saved for May.

Because no Diploma school is confirmed in Jagraon, DP requests tend to come from boarders home for the holidays or from a family preparing for an overseas move, and most ask for Mathematics and a science first.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Two or more Diploma courses sit beside a career-related study, a reflective project and a short personal and professional skills course. It suits students who know the field they want to enter.

CP is uncommon anywhere in the Punjab belt, so requests from Jagraon are rare; when they arrive, tutoring covers the Diploma courses inside the programme and the reflective project planning.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Subjects are matched by course code and level. An IB Mathematics AA HL student and an AI SL student need different tutors even if they attend the same class. Punjabi and Hindi B are available for families who want home-language support alongside English.

IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches

HL / SL

Proof-style reasoning, calculus and the unfamiliar Paper 3 problems are what separate grades. Practice needs to leave the textbook early, and the exploration should be chosen by the end of the first year.

IB Mathematics Applications & Interpretation

HL / SL

Statistics, modelling and calculator fluency carry this course. A tutor builds the habit of checking whether an answer is sensible before moving on.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Mechanics and fields are manageable; data handling and explanation questions cost marks. Timed paper practice and a workable Scientific Investigation plan matter most.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Stoichiometry comes quickly for most Punjab students. Organic pathways, equilibrium and energetics need slower, repeated working, along with confident use of the data booklet.

IB Biology

HL / SL

Students often know more than they show. Learning what each command term asks for, and backing the investigation with honest statistics, raises the grade.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Diagrams with real examples earn marks. HL adds quantitative questions and policy evaluation that need separate rehearsal.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

Theory only scores when applied to the case in front of you. The internal assessment needs a real organisation and usable data.

IB English A Language & Literature

HL / SL

Close reading of unseen text, comparative essays and a spoken oral each need their own practice. Students from Punjabi-medium backgrounds benefit from extra time on essay structure.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Algorithms, data structures and object-oriented thinking, plus a documented solution for the internal assessment.

IB Psychology

HL / SL

Named studies, sharp evaluation and timed extended responses are practised until they feel routine.

IB Environmental Systems & Societies

SL / HL

Systems thinking and evaluation of real case material rather than recall, which suits students already familiar with farming and water questions.

IB Geography

HL / SL

Case-study depth, a fieldwork method that can withstand questioning, and evaluative writing.

IB History

HL / SL

Source analysis for Paper 1 and sustained argument for Paper 2 are different skills, trained separately.

IB Punjabi and Hindi B

HL / SL

Comprehension of unseen text, correct text types and unscripted conversation for the oral, in whichever language the school offers.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Discussion practice on knowledge questions and feedback on how an exhibition commentary is argued, without writing it for the student.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel both award an IGCSE, but their papers, tiers and mark schemes differ, so board and tier are fixed first. After that we work back from the series your child is entered for: Cambridge in May-June or October-November, Edexcel in January or May-June.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended needs speed and clear working because method marks are awarded for showing steps, including on the calculator paper.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Calculus, functions and trigonometry arrive early, which makes it useful groundwork for IB Mathematics AA or for JEE-style algebra later.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Same ground as Cambridge but with different question wording and mark allocation, so past papers from the right board are used.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Equation rearrangement, circuits and waves, and the alternative-to-practical paper that surprises students who never handled the apparatus.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Mole calculations, rates and the reactivity series, plus qualitative analysis recall for the practical-style paper.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Precise vocabulary in transport, inheritance and ecology, and data questions that reward reading the axis labels twice.

IGCSE Combined and Co-ordinated Sciences

Core / Extended

Three sciences in a single double award, which needs a tutor comfortable switching between them inside one lesson.

IGCSE English First and Second Language

Grade 9-10

Directed writing, summary skills and comprehension for students whose day-to-day language is Punjabi or Hindi.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Definitions, diagrams and data response, with examples drawn from the Indian and world economy.

IGCSE Business Studies 0450

Grade 9-10

Case-study answers that name the business and use its figures rather than general theory.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode, logic and the written paper that tests reading code you did not write.

IGCSE Hindi and Punjabi as a Second Language

Grade 9-10

Reading, writing and speaking practice for schools that offer a language alongside English.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Jagraon school timetables

Jagraon families use one delivery format, online, but the pace differs between a child on a weekly plan and a student with an exam six weeks away. In-person home tuition is not available in Jagraon; it runs only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

Online home tuition, one to one

A fixed weekly hour on video with a whiteboard, working through the student's own textbook, past papers and school notes from the home laptop.

  • Private lessons taken at home, no travel to Ludhiana for a tutor
  • Same tutor each week, so the student builds trust
  • Screen-shared papers, marked while the student watches
  • Timetabled around school, coaching and farm-season family routines

Exam sprint before May or November

A concentrated run of two or three sessions a week in the final six to ten weeks, built around timed papers and a list of weak topics.

  • Timed past papers under real conditions
  • Error log reviewed in each lesson
  • Command terms and mark-scheme language drilled
  • Stops when the exam is sat

Holiday catch-up for boarders

A student returning to Jagraon for Diwali, winter or summer breaks gets a short block of lessons to fix what the school term left shaky.

  • Planned around the dates the boarding school releases students
  • Focused on two subjects rather than six
  • Ends with a written plan for the next term
  • Easy to pause and resume

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Jagraon

01

Which schools serve IB and IGCSE families around Jagraon?

  • Ludhiana, Mohali and Chandigarh hold the nearest international-curriculum campuses
  • Boarding is common for Jagraon children choosing IB or IGCSE
  • Always confirm a school's board, tier and latest results directly
  • Online tuition fits holiday blocks and distance learners

No IB World School or Cambridge centre is confirmed inside Jagraon. The international-curriculum campuses that Jagraon families actually consider are in Ludhiana, Mohali and Chandigarh, and some are boarding schools where the child lives on campus from Class 6 or 9 onward. Directory listings for Ludhiana show a handful of IGCSE schools, among them Britannica International School at Thakkarwal and Harvest International School near Jassowal, and both are roughly a road trip away rather than a school run.

The families who look at these options tend to fall into a few groups. Some are agricultural and business households with relatives in Canada or the UK who want a transferable qualification. Some have a parent working in the army, the police or a bank with a transfer likely. Others are simply dissatisfied with how Punjab Board papers are set and want a syllabus with coursework and clearer marking.

That mix explains why tutoring demand from Jagraon comes in unusual shapes. A Class 9 boarder wants Extended Mathematics fixed over the winter break. A Class 11 student at a distance-learning provider needs a full-time subject teacher. A parent planning for the following year wants to know what a Class 8 child should read before an IB admission test.

Because local choice is thin, it is worth asking each school three direct questions: which boards and tiers it is authorised to run, whether its results are published for the most recent series, and whether a child leaving in Class 10 can move to a different school's Class 11 without losing credit. Our tutors can help a student prepare for entrance tests, but admissions decisions belong to the school.

If you are early in this process, treat private tuition as a way to test how your child responds to the syllabus before a large fee is committed. A few online lessons in IGCSE Mathematics or IB Biology tell you more than a prospectus does.

02

Punjab Board, CBSE, IGCSE and IB compared for a Jagraon student

Most Jagraon schools teach the Punjab School Education Board syllabus or CBSE, with a smaller number of ICSE options in Ludhiana. The boards differ more in assessment style than in topic names, and the table below sets out what a family switching across would notice.

Punjab Board papers lean on recall and textbook phrasing. CBSE has moved toward application and competency questions but still rewards a clean, complete answer. IGCSE papers ask for working, definitions in precise words, and explanation linked to data. The IB goes further: internal assessments carried over months, oral components, and writing in your own analytical voice.

Students moving from the Punjab Board into IGCSE often find the science vocabulary and the practical-skills paper the hardest shift. Mathematics is a smaller jump for a student already comfortable with algebra. English and the humanities carry more of the load, particularly if school instruction was in Punjabi or Hindi.

Nothing here says one route is better for every child. A family planning engineering entrance exams in India will weigh JEE or NEET eligibility carefully, while a family planning study in Canada, the UK or Australia may value IGCSE into IB or A Levels. The choice should follow the destination, not the fashion.

03

What does IB and IGCSE tuition cost in Jagraon?

  • Rates are quoted in writing before you book, never published
  • Level, subject scarcity and lessons per week drive the price
  • No charge for the trial lesson, and no travel cost because nobody travels
  • A replacement tutor is arranged if the match is not working

The short answer is that there is no single price, and IB Gram does not publish one. A quote is given in writing before the first paid lesson, and the rate depends on the factors below rather than on your postcode or how large the house is.

The first factor is scarcity. A tutor who has recently taught IB Physics HL or IGCSE Additional Mathematics is harder to find than a general science teacher, and the fee reflects that. The second is level: Higher Level Diploma work involves more preparation per session than a Class 8 MYP revision. The third is frequency, since a weekly hour and a three-times-a-week exam sprint are priced differently.

Duration and package matter too. A single-subject block that ends in May is smaller than a two-year Diploma plan covering two subjects and Extended Essay guidance. Some families start with a trial and a four-week block before committing further, which keeps exposure low.

Jagraon families sometimes compare this with Ludhiana coaching centres that run batches of twenty or more. A batch costs less per seat because the cost is shared, but the student does not get an individual correction of mistakes. One-to-one tuition costs more per hour and buys undivided attention, which suits a student who is far behind or unusually far ahead.

A free trial lesson is offered first so a student can judge the tutor's style before money changes hands. The conditions also include a replacement tutor if the fit is wrong and a short written note after each session, so a parent can see what was covered without sitting in.

04

Online home tuition, Ludhiana coaching or self-study: which suits a Jagraon student?

Families in Jagraon usually weigh four routes: online one-to-one tuition, a coaching centre in Ludhiana, a private tutor found locally, or studying alone with a school's notes and past papers. Each has a genuine use, and the comparison below is about fit rather than a winner.

Ludhiana coaching is built for CBSE and competitive exams. It can be useful for a student who also plans JEE or NEET, but very few centres run IGCSE or IB subjects at the level of detail that a Cambridge Extended or IB HL paper needs. The travel is also a cost: a 37 km round trip after school is hard to sustain.

A private tutor nearby is convenient and familiar but seldom knows the IB or IGCSE mark scheme. Online tuition solves that by letting Jagraon draw on a tutor anywhere in India. The limit is that the student needs a dependable internet connection and a quiet corner, which some village homes around Jagraon cannot guarantee in every weather.

Self-study works for a motivated student with good past-paper access, and many top results come from it. It works less well for subjects with coursework and oral components, where an outside reader spots gaps that the student cannot see.

05

What is the exam calendar and how does Punjab's year affect study?

IB Diploma exams are held in May and November, with May the main session for Indian schools. IGCSE students sit Cambridge papers in May-June or October-November, and Edexcel in January or May-June. Your child's school tells you which series they are entered for, and the tutor works back from that date.

Punjab's own calendar intrudes in predictable ways. December and January bring dense fog that can slow travel for days, and school winter holidays often fall in that window. April brings the wheat harvest and Baisakhi, and families with farmland are busy. May and June are hot, with power cuts and heat that make afternoon study hard. The monsoon arrives in July, and paddy transplanting and Diwali compete with autumn revision.

Air quality in October and November, when crop residue burning affects the region, has led to school closures in the past. A tutor working online is unaffected by road conditions, which is a practical advantage on the worst days.

The table lists what to plan for in each window. It is a guide, not a substitute for your school's own timetable, which should always take priority.

06

Where can a Jagraon IB or IGCSE student go after school?

  • AIU equivalence for Indian Class 12 is usually granted, but check each university
  • CUET-UG and JEE or NEET rules depend on subject combinations
  • Nearby options include PAU Ludhiana, Panjab University and Thapar, Patiala
  • Canada, UK and Australia are common overseas targets for the region

Pathways depend on the destination, and a family should decide it before subject choices are locked. For study in India, the Association of Indian Universities recognises IB Diploma and IGCSE-based qualifications as equivalent to Indian Class 12 in most cases, but individual universities set their own cut-offs and subject requirements.

CUET-UG is now the main route into central universities for students from any board, and an IB or IGCSE student needs to check subject mapping and registration rules well in advance. Engineering aspirants should note that JEE Main and NEET eligibility depend on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology being studied, and schools must issue the right equivalence certificates. IB students with Mathematics and sciences generally meet those conditions, though families should confirm the current rules with the exam authority.

Many Jagraon families look at Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, Panjab University in Chandigarh, Thapar Institute in Patiala and private universities in the tricity. A few consider Delhi University or Ashoka and other liberal-arts institutions, which may accept IB or IGCSE-based profiles through their own admission tests.

Overseas study is a real possibility given the region's migration history. IB Diploma points and A-Level or IGCSE results are read by universities in Canada, the UK and Australia in different ways, and a tutor can help a student understand which grades matter most for a target course, though admissions are decided by each university.

Whatever the destination, marks alone are rarely enough. A strong Extended Essay topic, a meaningful CAS record and clear writing help, and all three develop over two years rather than two months.

07

How are IB Mathematics and the sciences taught online?

IB Mathematics comes in two routes. Analysis and Approaches suits students who like algebra, calculus and proof, while Applications and Interpretation favours statistics, modelling and technology. A tutor first checks which route the school has chosen, then the level, HL or SL, and then the student's gaps.

Live online lessons use a shared whiteboard and a scanned or typed past paper. The tutor watches the student work rather than explaining a whole topic at once, because the most useful correction is often a single missed step. The student then writes a short error log, and the next lesson begins from it.

In Physics, Chemistry and Biology the same method applies with extra care for practical work. The internal assessment is the student's own investigation, so the tutor coaches on method, data quality and evaluation but does not design or write it. Students at a school with limited lab time often lose marks in the written practical questions, which can be rehearsed online without equipment.

Timing is coached explicitly. Many students lose marks not because they do not know, but because Paper 2 runs out before the last question. Timed practice on a proper paper, marked afterwards against the official scheme, builds that habit faster than any amount of notes.

08

How do IGCSE Core and Extended tiers work, and which subjects should a student choose?

IGCSE subjects are usually offered in two tiers. Core papers cap the best available grade at a C in most subjects, while Extended papers open grades up to A*. The tier is a school decision made before entries close, and a student aiming for IB Diploma Mathematics AA HL should almost always be on Extended.

Subject choice depends on the next step. A student planning engineering or medicine keeps Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Additional Mathematics. A student heading toward commerce or law leans toward Economics, Business Studies and English. A Jagraon student who plans to come back to a CBSE school for Class 11 should check how Indian schools treat IGCSE grades at admission.

Cambridge and Edexcel differ in exam timetable and paper style. Cambridge runs papers in May-June and October-November and offers more subjects. Edexcel runs January and May-June and has more predictable paper structures in Mathematics. The tutor uses past papers from whichever board applies.

Language is often where a Punjab-schooled student needs most help. Cambridge English as a First or Second Language rewards exact summary and directed writing skills that Punjabi or Hindi medium students have not practised. A tutor can coach those skills steadily across a year.

Where we tutor

Jagraon areas and nearby towns our online tutors serve

These neighbourhoods and nearby towns are listed for context, not commute. Online tuition means a family in any of them has the same access to a tutor, and what matters is the evening routine, the school or coaching timetable and the season.

Kamal Chowk

The busy central crossing of the town, where many households live above or near shops; evening sessions here compete with market-hour noise, so a headset helps.

Railway Road

The stretch around the railway station, mixing older homes and newer flats; families here often have a parent commuting to Ludhiana for work.

Anaj Mandi area

The grain market belt, where harvest seasons in April and October change the household rhythm and late-afternoon availability.

Ludhiana Road side

The eastern approach towards Ludhiana, closest to the highway that boarders and weekend travellers use to reach city schools.

Moga Road side

The western approach, used by families with ties to Moga and Ferozepur districts, where CBSE and Punjab Board schools dominate.

Newer edge colonies

Newer residential colonies on the edges, popular with families building larger houses and planning education years ahead.

Sidhwan Bet

A smaller Ludhiana district town close enough for some families to treat Jagraon as their main market and tutoring centre.

Raikot

A neighbouring town with its own Punjab Board and CBSE schools; its students travel to Jagraon or Ludhiana for extra teaching.

Hathur and surrounding villages

Rural families with farming income and relatives abroad, for whom online tuition removes a long road trip after school.

Mullanpur Dakha

A town on the Ludhiana side, where families sometimes choose Ludhiana's schools and ask for online help alongside them.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Jagraon

Nearby: Ludhiana (Pakhowal Road and Thakkarwal)

About 37 km away, Ludhiana is where Jagraon families look first, and local IB or IGCSE options there are limited.

  • Britannica International School

Nearby: Ludhiana (outer campuses)

A larger campus with boarding, relevant for families who want a child in hostel while staying close to the Jagraon side of the district.

  • Harvest International School

Nearby: Mohali and Chandigarh

The wider tricity area has more international-curriculum schools, and Jagraon boarders often end up here.

  • Oakridge International School, Mohali
  • The British School, Chandigarh

We have not confirmed any IB or Cambridge school inside Jagraon, so the clusters below are Ludhiana and Chandigarh-belt schools that Jagraon families are known to consider. Naming them is not a link, partnership or endorsement; IB Gram is independent of these schools and of the IB, Cambridge and Pearson. Check admissions directly with each school.

Why families choose us

What Jagraon parents tell us matters most

Matched to the exact course

IB Mathematics AA HL, IGCSE Edexcel Higher and MYP Sciences are different jobs, and the tutor is chosen for the one your child sits.

Online, honestly

No tutor travels to Jagraon; home visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, and we say so up front.

Suits Punjab's year

Timing is planned around fog, harvest, festivals and the boarding school's holiday dates.

Written note after each lesson

Parents read what was covered, what went wrong and what comes next without sitting in on the call.

Coaching, not ghost-writing

Tutors explain, question and mark. They never write an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework.

Change tutor if needed

If the fit is wrong, we arrange another tutor, and rates are always stated in writing before booking.

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Jagraon: your questions answered

Are there IB or IGCSE tutors in Jagraon?+

Yes, online. IB Gram offers IB and IGCSE tutors for Jagraon students through live video lessons, one to one, on Indian Standard Time. No tutor visits Jagraon in person because home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Tutors are matched to the exact board, tier and level, and a free trial lesson is offered before any commitment.

Does IB Gram offer home tuition in Jagraon?+

It offers online home tuition only. That means private lessons that your child takes at home on a laptop, live with a tutor based elsewhere in India. Tutors do not visit homes in Jagraon, since in-person home tuition is limited to Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. The format gives Jagraon families access to specialists who would never be available within driving distance.

Is there an IB or Cambridge school in Jagraon?+

We have not been able to confirm one. The nearest international-curriculum schools we know of are in Ludhiana, Mohali and Chandigarh, and some Jagraon children board there. Please check any school's affiliation directly with the school, the IB or Cambridge before applying. Tutoring can support a student wherever they are enrolled, including distance providers.

How much does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Jagraon?+

There is no published price, because the rate depends on the subject, level, tutor experience and number of lessons per week. A quote is given in writing before you book, and the first trial lesson is free. A Higher Level Diploma subject or Extended IGCSE Mathematics usually costs more than a Class 8 revision block because preparation per session is heavier.

Can a student moving from the Punjab Board cope with IGCSE?+

Yes, many do, but the first term is an adjustment. Science vocabulary, showing every step in Mathematics, and the practical-skills paper are the usual hurdles, and English writing matters in every subject. A tutor can close these gaps over a few months. Starting before the new school year, rather than after the first test, makes the move much smoother.

Which IGCSE boards do your tutors teach?+

Both Cambridge International (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel. The papers, tiers and mark schemes differ, so we confirm the board and the tier before matching. Cambridge sits in May-June and October-November, and Edexcel in January and May-June. Your child's school tells you which series they are entered for, and the tutor plans backwards from that date.

Do you help with the IB Internal Assessment or Extended Essay?+

We coach, but we do not write. Tutors can explain the criteria, discuss how to choose a research question, question the method and give feedback on a draft the student wrote. They will never write or rewrite an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or any piece of coursework. The work has to be the student's own, and that is also what the IB expects.

Can lessons be scheduled around fog, harvest and festivals?+

Yes. Jagraon's winter fog, the April wheat harvest, autumn air-quality closures, Diwali and Gurpurab all disrupt routines, and online lessons are easier to move than a road trip to Ludhiana. Tell us the dates that matter, and the weekly slot is built around them. A missed session is usually rescheduled with notice rather than lost.

What internet speed do online lessons need?+

A stable broadband or 4G connection that can carry a video call is enough, and a laptop or tablet with a working microphone. Villages around Jagraon sometimes have patchy signal, so we suggest testing during the free trial and keeping a phone hotspot as backup. Whiteboard work is light on data, and video can be turned off if the signal drops.

My child boards in Ludhiana or Chandigarh. Can you still help?+

Yes. Boarders often take lessons in the evening through the school's study hours, or during holidays back in Jagraon. Check the school's policy on devices and outside tutors first. We can also run short intensive blocks over Diwali and winter breaks, focused on the two subjects the student finds hardest, with a written plan for the next term.

Can you prepare a child for an IB or IGCSE school admission test?+

Yes, within limits. Many schools test English, Mathematics and sometimes reasoning for entry in Class 6, 9 or 11. A tutor can work on those areas and help the child with spoken English and interview confidence. We cannot influence a school's decision, and we have no partnership with any school, so the place itself depends entirely on the school.

Can IB or IGCSE students still take JEE or NEET?+

Often yes, but rules change, so check the current exam-authority notices. JEE and NEET eligibility depends on having studied the required subjects and holding a recognised Class 12 equivalence. IB students with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology generally qualify. A tutor can support the science preparation, but the administrative steps are for the family and school to confirm.

What languages can the tutors teach in?+

Lessons are mainly in English because the syllabi and exams are in English. For Punjabi and Hindi, tutors can teach the language as a subject, and some can explain a difficult concept in Hindi or Punjabi if a student is struggling. That can help a child from a Punjabi-medium school get comfortable, but exam answers still need to be written in English.

How do I start with IB Gram from Jagraon?+

Message or email us with your child's board, subject, level and exam date. You will receive a shortlisted tutor and open trial times, usually within a short wait. The trial is free, and rates are given in writing afterwards. Reach us at support@ibgram.com or on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115, both of which are monitored daily.

Will I get a progress report?+

Yes. After each session the tutor sends a short written note covering topics taught, mistakes seen and what to practise before the next lesson. Every few weeks there is a wider review to check whether the plan is working. If progress is slower than hoped, we adjust the approach or change the tutor, and you will see the reasoning in writing.

Are your tutors affiliated with the IB, Cambridge or Pearson?+

No. IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. We are not part of the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge University Press and Assessment, Pearson Edexcel or any school. Tutors are experienced teachers and subject specialists based in India, and they teach to the published syllabus and mark schemes rather than to any inside information about examiners.
