Less than families expect, and more deliberately. Two or three weeks of focused work, then a break, then a fixed weekly slot from the start of the new term. Students who study through the whole holiday tend to arrive tired in the year that most needs their energy.

Recording is possible for online sessions where both the tutor and the family agree in advance, and the recordings are genuinely useful for revision closer to mocks. Parents are welcome to sit in occasionally, though most teenagers work better without an audience and a single observed session tells you more than a standing arrangement. For home sessions, staying within earshot in an adjacent room is usually the least disruptive way to keep an eye on things.
