IB & IGCSE in Dalli-Rajhara

Following an international syllabus from an iron-ore township in Balod district

Dalli-Rajhara lies in Balod district, roughly 83 km south of Durg, where the open-cast mines of the Rajhara group have long fed hematite and magnetite to the Bhilai Steel Plant. The town grew around that work as a planned mining township, and the steel plant built hospitals and schools for it. A passenger train links the township with Durg, but most journeys to Bhilai and Raipur are made by road and take hours, not minutes.

Schools in the township and across the district mostly follow the Chhattisgarh board or CBSE. We could not confirm an IB World School or a Cambridge or Edexcel centre in Dalli-Rajhara, so this page names none locally. Anyone looking for IB and IGCSE tutors in Dalli-Rajhara is in practice choosing between moving to a bigger city and studying online with a subject specialist, and for most households the second option is the only one that fits.

Home tuition needs a plain definition here. No IB Gram tutor travels to Dalli-Rajhara, since in-person visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. What we offer is online home tuition: a private one-to-one lesson, live on video, that the student attends from their own desk, scheduled around school hours, examinations and whatever rota a parent's work follows.

IB Gram is an independent tutoring service. We are not affiliated with the IB, Cambridge, Pearson, the Bhilai Steel Plant or any school named on this page. Tutors explain, question and mark practice work, while every assessed piece stays the student's own.

At a glance

  • IB PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE
  • Tutors matched on course, level and exam session, not only on subject
  • First lesson free, with the rate confirmed in writing before booking
  • A short written note after each lesson for parents
  • Online in Dalli-Rajhara, never a visit to the house
IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Dalli-Rajhara school years

All four IB stages can be studied online from Dalli-Rajhara. Each entry explains the stage briefly, then says what a tutor adds where no international school is close by.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3-11

IB Primary Years Programme

Learning is organised around units of inquiry and ends with a pupil-led Exhibition. No external papers are set, so the emphasis falls on curiosity, reading and clear communication.

For a young child in the township, a tutor keeps sessions short and playful, building spoken English, number sense and reading stamina alongside whichever school the family has chosen.

MYPClass 6-10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

Every subject is marked against published criteria, and students finish with a Personal Project. Planning, explaining and reflecting count for as much as recall.

Students arriving from a Chhattisgarh board or CBSE classroom often need the criteria put into plain language, then practice at writing to them. Tutors advise on managing the project calendar, never on its content.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Six subjects sit beside Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. Most written papers arrive in May or November, while internal assessments are moderated externally.

A Diploma candidate from here would register through a school elsewhere or sit privately, which makes the weekly online specialist in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry the nearest thing to a classroom teacher.

CPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

Two or three DP courses are combined with a career-related study, a reflective project and language development, for students aiming at applied study or work.

CP is rare in India and we know of no school offering it near Dalli-Rajhara. We coach the academic courses inside it and say openly when another route would suit a child better.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Dalli-Rajhara school timetables

With no tutor visiting Dalli-Rajhara, all three formats run on screen. They differ in how many students share a lesson and in the point of the year where each helps most.

One-to-one online home tuition

One student, one specialist and a shared digital whiteboard. The student stays in their own room, and no tutor visits houses in Dalli-Rajhara because home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

  • Weekly slot in Indian time
  • Worksheets and a shared board
  • Written note after each lesson

Exam-season sprints

A compact run of lessons before the May or November IB papers, or the IGCSE series, built on timed past papers and marked corrections.

  • Gap list for parents
  • Timed mocks with feedback
  • Planned around heat and festivals

Paired lessons

Two students on the same course and level share one tutor, and the two families split the fee. Going back to one-to-one is always possible.

  • Same course and level
  • Rate agreed in writing
  • Switch back at any time

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Dalli-Rajhara

01

Which IB and IGCSE schools are close to Dalli-Rajhara?

  • No IB or Cambridge school confirmed in Dalli-Rajhara or Balod district
  • Closest confirmed schools are in Bhilai, then Raipur
  • Private IGCSE entries go through an approved centre in a larger city
  • Verify authorisation on the IB and Cambridge websites, not from adverts

Not inside the township, as far as we can establish. We could not confirm an IB World School or a Cambridge or Edexcel centre in Dalli-Rajhara or anywhere in Balod district, and we would rather show a blank school strip than a name that later proves wrong. Schools here teach the Chhattisgarh board syllabus or CBSE, in Hindi or English, and some were set up when the steel plant built the township. If you know of a local school offering an international course, send us its name and we will check it before adding it to this page.

The nearest confirmed schools are Rungta Public School in Bhilai and, further on, Rungta International School and N.H. Goel World School in Raipur. From Dalli-Rajhara the road to Durg alone is 83 km, and Bhilai lies beyond it, so a daily commute is out of the question. Joining any of these schools would mean moving the family or sending the child to live elsewhere, and that is a decision to weigh with the school's own admissions office.

Most households therefore keep the child in a local school and treat the international syllabus as an online addition, or plan a move at a natural break such as the end of Class 8 or Class 10. Families connected with the steel plant may also think about transfers, since a posting can carry a household to another plant town, and a course that travels from one place to the next has real value.

Whatever you decide, check authorisation at the source. The IB and Cambridge both publish lists of authorised schools and centres, and the lists change from year to year. A banner outside a school or a line in an advertisement is not proof. Private IGCSE candidates also need an approved exam centre, which for families here means a larger city, with entry dates that close months before the papers.

02

How do the Chhattisgarh board, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE and IB differ for a Balod district student?

The five options reward different habits. A Chhattisgarh board paper leans on the prescribed textbooks, CBSE adds application and steady NCERT detail, and ICSE expects fuller written answers. IGCSE and the IB go further: they show a graph, a data table or an unfamiliar situation and ask the candidate to reason from it in clear, structured English. A student who has always answered by recalling a page will feel that shift at once.

Language is the real hurdle for many Dalli-Rajhara students, more than mathematics or science. A child who thinks in Hindi or Chhattisgarhi can follow a Physics derivation in English without trouble, yet find an eight-mark Economics or English essay hard to organise. Command terms such as discuss and evaluate have exact meanings, and a tutor can practise them every week until they become habit.

Direction matters too. For JEE or NEET, a CBSE route with focused coaching is normally simpler, and we say so plainly when a family asks. IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma or A Levels is better matched to study abroad and to courses that value breadth. Neither path is superior in itself, and the right one depends on where the child hopes to study and how the family feels about relocating.

Timing is the last point. IGCSE begins in Class 9, so a child who moves then has two years to adjust. The Diploma begins in Class 11 and assumes the student already writes in the international style, which makes a late, cold start harder. Families who are still unsure can begin with a few diagnostic lessons and decide afterwards whether to commit to a full course.

03

What decides the cost of IB and IGCSE tuition in Dalli-Rajhara?

  • Level and subject scarcity set the rate
  • Weekly hours and exam timing change the total
  • A written rate before booking, after a free lesson
  • Short blocks and paired lessons keep spending down

No price list is published, because the rate follows the tutor and the course, not the town. After the free first lesson you receive a figure in writing that covers the weekly hours, and nothing is collected until you agree. Anyone comparing IB and IGCSE tutors in Dalli-Rajhara should ask every provider for that written figure, since a headline hourly number often leaves out minimum blocks or exam-season extras.

Four things move the rate. The level matters: Higher Level Physics asks more of a tutor than Class 7 mathematics. Scarcity matters, because fewer people can teach ESS, Psychology or Computer Science HL than can teach Mathematics. Weekly hours matter, and so does the distance to the exam, since an intensive run before mocks needs more preparation per hour than a steady term.

A township tuition batch costs less because one teacher serves many children, yet it does not teach IB or IGCSE mark schemes. The fairer comparison is a private specialist in Raipur or Bhilai, whose fee arrives together with hours of travel over more than 80 km. Teaching online removes both the fare and the lost day, and the money goes into lesson time instead.

If the budget is tight, say so in your first message. Eight or ten lessons aimed at a single shaky topic, a paired lesson with a classmate, or fewer hours in a calm term and more before mocks can all keep spending in check. We would sooner build a smaller plan that you can sustain than a large one that stops in December.

04

Online lessons, township coaching or self-study: which suits an IB student here?

Realistically, an online private lesson is the only way a student in Dalli-Rajhara can work with someone who has taught the IB or IGCSE course before, which is why IB and IGCSE tutors in Dalli-Rajhara are almost always online ones. Coaching in the region is built around board examinations and the engineering and medical entrance tests, and it does its job well, but it does not teach command terms, internal assessment criteria or the style of an IGCSE data question.

Distance decides a great deal. Durg is 83 km away, and a weekly class in Bhilai would cost most of a day in travel, whereas an online hour takes one hour and leaves the evening free for homework. A DEMU passenger service runs between Dalli and Durg, but a family still has to plan the rest of the journey, which makes a regular weekday lesson impractical.

Self-study works for a disciplined Class 10 student who practises past papers and checks each answer against the mark scheme. It is weaker when nobody corrects errors. In the Diploma, with internal assessments and exact command terms, an early misunderstanding can harden into a habit that costs marks for two years.

Combining routes is common and sensible: the school and its coaching for board subjects, online lessons for the international ones. Keep the combined load honest, because rest before an exam is study time as well, and a child who sleeps properly remembers more of what was taught.

How do summer heat, the monsoon and festivals shape the exam year here?

Summer in Chhattisgarh is hot enough that afternoon study is a poor use of anyone's time, and temperatures in May and June regularly cross 40 degrees across the state's plains. That is exactly when the IB May session and the IGCSE May or June papers fall due. Early mornings and late evenings work better, and a power backup for the router and the laptop is worth arranging before exam weeks begin.

The monsoon arrives in the second half of June and runs into September. Hill roads around the mines can turn slippery, and power or mobile coverage sometimes dips in heavy rain. Because lessons are online, they carry on whenever the connection holds, and we reschedule without penalty when it does not. Nobody needs to cross a flooded road to reach a tutor.

Hareli falls in July or early August, Teeja in late August or September, and the long run of Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali arrives in October and November, close to the IB November session and the IGCSE October or November series. Holi in March sits near the Chhattisgarh board examinations. We front-load revision ahead of these weeks and keep the festival weeks light, so lessons do not compete with family time.

A workable plan for November candidates finishes new content by early September and uses October for timed mocks. For May candidates, new content ends in January, mocks run through February and March, and April is for gaps. Students who also sit school board exams need a lighter tutoring load in those months, and we build that into the timetable at the start.

06

Where do Dalli-Rajhara students go after IB or IGCSE?

  • The AIU equates the IB Diploma with Class 12
  • CUET-UG, JEE Main and NEET set separate rules each year
  • IGCSE leads to A Levels, the IB Diploma or CBSE Class 11
  • Read each university's current eligibility notice

The Association of Indian Universities treats the IB Diploma as equivalent to Class 12, which keeps Indian degrees within reach. Each university then sets its own subject and score conditions, so read them directly for the course you want. IGCSE is not a school-leaving qualification in India, so an IGCSE graduate still needs a Class 11 and 12 route, whether the IB Diploma, A Levels or CBSE.

CUET-UG, JEE Main and NEET each publish eligibility rules for candidates from the IB and other international boards, and those rules change between cycles. Read the current bulletin, not last year's, and check whether your subject combination qualifies. If the wording is confusing, send it to us and we will help you interpret it, though the decision and the application remain yours.

Within Chhattisgarh the familiar names include IIT Bhilai and NIT Raipur for engineering, AIIMS Raipur for medicine, IIM Raipur for management, Hidayatullah National Law University for law and Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University for general degrees. NIT Raipur also has a mining engineering department, a natural interest in this belt, and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is widely known for the same field. Delhi University and Nagpur's VNIT are frequent choices outside the state.

For study abroad, IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma or A Levels is the usual sequence. The UK, Canada, Singapore and the US draw many applicants, and their applications involve predicted grades, English-language evidence and deadlines that start a year ahead. Because the real choice is made in Class 9 or 10, families here should talk about destination early, not in Class 12.

07

What do IB Mathematics AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry and Biology involve?

Analysis and Approaches suits students who enjoy algebra, functions and proof and who expect to study engineering, mathematics or the physical sciences. Applications and Interpretation is a different course, not an easier one: it leans on statistics, modelling and calculator technology, and it suits business, geography, psychology or design. Both ask for a mathematical exploration as internal assessment, and the choice should be made with the target degree in view.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology follow a shared pattern: core content, further topics, written papers that mix multiple choice, data questions and extended answers, and a scientific investigation marked internally. Physics rewards discipline with units and a strategy for problems. Chemistry rewards calculation practice and a grasp of mechanisms. Biology rewards exact terms and concise explanation of evidence.

A Dalli-Rajhara Chemistry student has unusually good raw material. Iron ore, steelmaking and corrosion are the first examples many textbooks reach for when they teach redox, energetics and materials, and the Dalli deposit itself was identified around 1900 by the geologist Pramatha Nath Bose. In Physics, the machinery of open-cast mining supplies natural settings for work, power and energy transfer problems.

In online lessons the tutor works problems on a shared board, then sets a marked exercise to redo. On the internal investigation, tutors help with question design and the handling of uncertainty, while the experiment and the write-up belong to the student. Where school laboratory access is limited, advice on what examiners look for in practical work matters even more.

08

How do IGCSE Core and Extended tiers work, and which subjects suit this region?

Cambridge offers most IGCSE sciences and mathematics at Core and Extended tiers. Core papers cap the grade at C, while Extended papers reach A star. Pearson Edexcel splits Mathematics into Foundation and Higher tiers and grades on a numerical scale. A student who wants IB Mathematics or a science stream later should sit Extended or Higher from the start, since switching tiers late leaves little time to cover the extra content.

A typical package has English, Mathematics, one or two sciences, a language and a few electives. For a student from a mining belt, Environmental Management is a natural pick, because resource use, land degradation and mining are its core themes. Geography, Economics, Business Studies and Computer Science are popular alternatives, and Chemistry courses typically include the extraction of iron from hematite, which is not abstract here.

Specification codes differ between Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel, and so do grade scales and paper structures. The first task is therefore to confirm which board and code applies, after which revision follows that board's own past papers and mark schemes. Revising from the wrong board's papers is a common and avoidable waste of weeks.

Entry as a private candidate runs through an approved exam centre, most likely in Raipur or further afield, and deadlines are firm. Practical components and coursework need early conversation with the centre. We can walk a family through the steps and explain what each paper expects, but we never file the entry and never handle the paperwork for you.

Where we tutor

Dalli-Rajhara neighbourhoods and Balod district towns we teach online

Teaching is online only, so anywhere with a working connection is in range. These are the parts of the township and the district we have in mind, each with a note on the practical side of lessons.

Dalli

One half of the twin township, named for the Dalli mine group. Evening slots suit households whose day follows the shift pattern.

Rajhara

The other half, and the name behind the Rajhara group of mines. Weekend mornings are an option when weekday evenings are taken.

New Market area

The commercial centre around the Hanuman Mandir, busy after dusk; we fix lesson times that keep clear of market-hour noise.

Rajhara Dam side

A local landmark at the edge of the township, where mobile signal can differ from the main streets, so we test the line in the trial.

Kokan Pahadi

A hill near the township; uneven ground can weaken mobile signal, so a wired broadband line is the safer option.

Balod

The district headquarters, with the district court and government offices. Parents working there can book early-evening slots after office hours.

Dondi Lohara

A block town in the district with rural surroundings; students usually attend a board school full time, and lessons are added on top.

Gurur

A block headquarters where online lessons spare a student the long bus ride that any specialist teaching would otherwise need.

Gunderdehi

A block town on the plains side of the district, where broadband varies by street and we confirm speed before the first paid lesson.

Durg

The railhead 83 km away where the passenger service ends; families with relatives or work there sometimes compare Bhilai schools.

School ecosystem

IB and Cambridge school communities we support in Dalli-Rajhara

Dalli-Rajhara and Balod district

Local schools follow the Chhattisgarh board or CBSE. We could not confirm an IB or Cambridge school in the township or the district, so no local school is named.

    Nearby: Bhilai (beyond Durg)

The steel city is the closer of the two confirmed options, though it still means a road journey of well over 80 km from the township. Attending would be a relocation decision.

    • Rungta Public School, Bhilai

    Nearby: Raipur

The state capital offers more confirmed schools. For a Dalli-Rajhara family it is a question of moving house, not of a daily commute.

    • Rungta International School, Raipur
    • N.H. Goel World School, Raipur

We are an independent tutoring service with no tie to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school mentioned. A school appears here only as regional context when a public listing links it to an IB or Cambridge course, and families should confirm its present status for themselves.

    How matching works

From first enquiry to a tutor who fits

    1. 01

      Share the course details

Message the student's school, course, level and exam month on WhatsApp or email, along with any topics that feel shaky.

    2. 02

      Get a tutor proposal

We reply with a tutor who has taught that very syllabus, a short profile and a few weekly times in IST.

    3. 03

      Try a free lesson

The first session uses your child's own textbook or a past paper, so you can judge the teaching before any commitment.

    4. 04

      Approve a written plan

If you wish to continue, weekly hours and the rate go on paper, and nothing is taken until you agree.

    5. 05

      Read the lesson notes

A brief note after each session records what was covered and what to practise, and a tutor change is easy if the fit is wrong.

    Why families choose us

What Dalli-Rajhara parents tell us matters most

    Matched on the course code

Pairing looks at the exact paper or syllabus, such as IB Physics HL or Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry 0620, not only the subject name.

    Clear about delivery

Lessons in Dalli-Rajhara are all online, because home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

    Coaching, not ghost-writing

IAs, Extended Essays, TOK essays and coursework stay the student's own work, and tutors guide and mark practice only.

    Indian time, Indian calendar

Tutors teach in IST and plan around Hareli, Dussehra and Diwali weeks, board exam months and parents' work rotas.

    Built for patchy weather

Heat, rain or a cancelled train rarely stops a lesson held on a laptop, and a missed one can be moved.

    A record for parents

Each session ends with a short note, so you can see the work covered without sitting in on the lesson.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Dalli-Rajhara: your questions answered

Can I find an IB or IGCSE tutor in Dalli-Rajhara?+

Yes, through online private lessons rather than visits. For IB and IGCSE tutors in Dalli-Rajhara, IB Gram teaches over live video from other parts of India, matched to your child's course, level and exam session. Tell us the subject and the sitting, and we suggest a tutor and a free trial slot in Indian Standard Time, which keeps the plan simple for a household in the township.

Will a tutor come to my home in Dalli-Rajhara?+

No, no IB Gram tutor visits homes in Dalli-Rajhara. Home visits run only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. Home tuition here means a private lesson taken from your own room, over video with a shared whiteboard, so the student avoids the 83 km journey to Durg and the longer one to Raipur.

Is there an IB school in Dalli-Rajhara or Balod district?+

None that we can confirm. Schools locally follow the Chhattisgarh board or CBSE, and the closest confirmed IB and Cambridge schools are in Bhilai and Raipur. Authorisations change, so check the IB and Cambridge school lists directly before relying on any name, including those shown on this page.

What does IB or IGCSE tuition cost in Dalli-Rajhara?+

We do not publish prices, because the rate depends on the tutor, the level, the subject and the weekly hours rather than on the town. You receive a figure in writing after the free first lesson, before anything is booked. Mentioning a budget at the start helps us suggest fewer hours, a paired lesson or a short block on one weak topic.

Which IB subjects can your tutors teach?+

Nearly all of them. Students ask most often about Mathematics AA and AI, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Business Management and English, and we also match tutors for ESS, Geography, Hindi, Computer Science, Psychology and Theory of Knowledge conversations. Rare combinations can take longer, and if nobody suitable is free you will hear that from us directly.

Can my child sit IGCSE as a private candidate from Dalli-Rajhara?+

Usually yes, but the entry has to go through an exam centre authorised by Cambridge or Pearson, normally in a larger city. Entry windows close months before the papers, and practical or coursework components need separate arrangements with the centre. We teach the course; filing the entry is for you and the centre.

Will your tutors write my child's IA or Extended Essay?+

No. Internal assessments, Extended Essays, TOK essays and coursework must be the student's own work, and ghost-writing could cost a result. Tutors do help a student read the criteria, choose a workable question, plan time and understand what examiners reward, and they mark practice pieces, but nothing that is submitted is drafted by them.

Should my child do IGCSE first and then the IB Diploma?+

It is a common sequence, though not compulsory. IGCSE covers Classes 9 and 10 and trains students in structured, English-language exam answers, and the Diploma then covers Classes 11 and 12. Some students move to A Levels or CBSE Class 11 instead. With neither offered in town, the choice often turns on where the family can realistically arrange the exams.

Do power cuts or monsoon weather disrupt online lessons?+

Sometimes, though rarely enough to derail a year. Heavy rain and summer load can interrupt power or mobile signal, so we suggest a charged laptop, a spare hotspot and, in May and June, lesson times early or late in the day. If a session is lost to an outage and you tell us promptly, we move it without penalty.

Will Indian colleges accept an IB Diploma from a student in Chhattisgarh?+

In general yes: the Association of Indian Universities treats a completed IB Diploma as equal to Class 12. Each university then sets its own subject prerequisites and cut-offs, and CUET-UG, JEE Main and NEET publish separate rules every year. Read the latest notice for your target course before choosing subjects, and send us the wording if anything is unclear.

Can my child stay in a CBSE or state board school and still follow IB lessons?+

It can be done alongside the school day, provided the exams are entered privately. Running two syllabuses together is demanding, so the timetable has to protect board-exam months and proper sleep. A child who meets the international style of question in Class 9 or 10 finds the Diploma less of a shock later.

Can you help if my child studies mostly in Hindi and finds English writing hard?+

Yes, and it is among the commonest needs. Tutors work on paragraph structure, command terms and subject vocabulary through short weekly writing tasks that are marked and returned. Understanding the science or mathematics is seldom the problem; expressing it in examiner-friendly English is, and that improves with steady practice.

Can a parent on shift duty choose late-evening or Sunday lessons?+

Yes, within the times a tutor can offer. Many tutors teach in the evenings and on Sundays, and a lesson can be moved when a roster changes if you tell us early. We ask for a fixed weekly slot where possible, because regular timing helps a student more than any single extra hour.

How long does tutor matching take?+

Most matches take between two and four working days after we receive the course, level and your available hours. Mathematics and the sciences are quickest, while rarer courses such as ESS or Psychology HL may take longer. If nobody suitable exists we say so at once rather than keep you waiting.

What internet connection do we need?+

A steady fixed broadband line is ideal, and reliable 4G is usually enough for live video. We test audio, camera and screen sharing in the free lesson. In parts of the district where signal is uneven, a second SIM or a hotspot as backup saves a lesson from being cut short.

Is the first lesson really free?+

Yes. Your child takes a full session on real course material with a proposed tutor, so you see the teaching itself and not a sales demonstration. Only if you wish to continue do we send a weekly plan and rate in writing, and nothing is charged before that. If the fit feels wrong, we suggest a different tutor.

How do we start from Dalli-Rajhara?+

Message us on WhatsApp at +91 7439 368 115 or write to support@ibgram.com with the student's school, course, level and target exam month. We reply with a proposed tutor and a free trial slot in IST. Asking costs nothing, and whether to continue is entirely your decision.
