IB and IGCSE Tutors and Home Tuition in Attingal

Private home tuition for IB or IGCSE in Attingal is a live online lesson taken at the family's own table: one tutor, one student, the exact syllabus on screen. An international school, Trivandrum International School at Korani, stands only 6 km from the town centre, so this page speaks to two kinds of family: those who want help alongside that school, and those who want IB or IGCSE subjects without changing schools at all.

  • A tutor who has taught your child's exact paper, not just the subject in general
  • Lessons happen online, at home; tutors do not visit houses in Attingal, where only Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR get home visits
  • Lesson one is free and the fee is agreed in writing before you commit
  • Support before, alongside or instead of a move to another school
  • No ties to the IB, Cambridge, Pearson or any school named on this page, and no assessed work written by a tutor

IB & IGCSE in Attingal

IB and IGCSE tutors in Attingal, for a taluk town six kilometres from an international school

Attingal sits on the map differently from most small towns. Trivandrum International School, which teaches IB PYP and the Diploma alongside Cambridge IGCSE, stands at Korani, about 6 km from the town centre. That changes the question a family asks. It is less 'can we reach these syllabuses at all?' and more 'which route suits this child, and what help should run beside it?' Private online lessons answer the second half, whichever route is chosen.

Attingal is the headquarters of Chirayinkeezhu taluk, with its court complex, civil station and treasuries, and lies about 30 km north of Thampanoor, which makes it a northern suburb of the Thiruvananthapuram metropolitan area. Its households include court and government staff, teachers, professionals commuting towards Technopark and the city, and families with someone abroad. Literacy is very high, and so is the habit of asking how a child's schooling compares with what is on offer elsewhere.

That mix produces three different needs. A child at a CBSE or Kerala State Board school may want IGCSE subjects studied privately. A child at the Korani school may need stronger Higher Level Mathematics help than the timetable provides. A child about to join Class 9 or Class 11 there may need six months of bridging first. IB and IGCSE tutors in Attingal, matched by board, code and level, can cover all three.

Every lesson is live and online. Tutors do not visit homes in Attingal; in-person visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR. IB Gram is independent of the IB, Cambridge, Pearson and every school on this page, the one at Korani included, and its tutors never write an IA, Extended Essay, TOK essay or coursework for a student.

IB programmes

Every IB programme stage, mapped to Attingal school years

An Attingal family can meet some of these stages at a school 6 km away and others only elsewhere, so the notes below say which is which and what a tutor adds at each point.

PYPNursery to Class 5, ages 3 to 12

IB Primary Years Programme

Children explore big ideas through units of inquiry and finish primary school with a student-led Exhibition. Help at home stays light: reading together, number talk and encouraging the 'why' questions the classroom rewards.

The Korani school lists PYP, so for an Attingal family this stage can be met close to home; tutoring adds reading practice for a child coming from a Malayalam-medium nursery.

MYPClass 6 to 10, ages 11-16

IB Middle Years Programme

MYP teachers grade against four published criteria in each subject, and the programme ends with a self-directed Personal Project. The skill being built is explaining a choice, not merely arriving at an answer.

The Korani school lists Cambridge Lower Secondary rather than MYP, so MYP requests from Attingal usually involve a family moving to an MYP school elsewhere; tutoring then maps the criteria onto what the child already does.

DPClass 11-12, ages 16-19

IB Diploma Programme

Two years, six subjects (three at Higher Level, three at Standard Level), a core of Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS, and external papers in May.

Because the Diploma is taught at Korani, an Attingal family can consider a daily commute rather than boarding; tutoring then strengthens whichever subjects strain the student most, often HL Mathematics and the sciences.

CPClass 11 to 12, ages 16-19

IB Career-related Programme

CP blends two or more Diploma courses with career-related study and a reflective project. Indian schools rarely run it, yet the Diploma courses inside it are assessed like any others.

We receive almost no CP enquiries from Attingal; if one arrives, the work centres on the Diploma courses within the pathway.

Subject coverage

IB subjects we tutor

Before a tutor is named, we pin down the exact course and level, because 'IB Maths' or 'IB Science' is never one thing. Then we look at the household's week: a commute towards Technopark, a school day that ends late, a class at the Korani school or a coaching slot in town.

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches

HL / SL

Think engineering, architecture or pure science. The HL-only Paper 3 sets extended problems with no template, so weekly timed sessions on fresh questions matter more than rereading worked examples.

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation

HL / SL

The route for economics, psychology and some computing paths. Technology carries the load, and the exploration gains from data a student can gather locally, such as bus timings on the NH66 corridor.

IB Physics

HL / SL

Five themes from mechanics to quantum physics. A bus route, a bridge or a river crossing in town makes a fair starting point for energy and motion, while the investigation is judged on its method.

IB Chemistry

HL / SL

Structure and Reactivity organise the course. Concentration, equilibrium and energy calculations reward practice with units checked, and the data booklet helps only those who have used it often enough to find things fast.

IB Biology

HL / SL

The Vamanapuram River basin and the wetlands around it offer real context for ecology, while command terms decide most of the marks.

IB Environmental Systems and Societies

SL / HL

Waste, water and land use are central. A town known for keeping itself clean gives municipal waste management a live case, and the river supplies water-quality questions.

IB Computer Science

HL / SL

Technopark is a bus ride away, which makes software careers visible. Paper 1 tests pseudocode and computational thinking on paper, separately from the coding in the internal assessment.

IB Economics

HL / SL

Public transport, highway widening, remittances and a commuter economy supply unusually local examples, provided diagrams are drawn and labelled exactly.

IB Business Management

HL / SL

A family firm, a shop or a training institute can be the organisation behind the research project, with the student choosing it and writing the report alone.

IB History

HL / SL

Attingal's link with the Travancore royal family and the 1721 revolt against the East India Company's Anjengo settlement offer local sources for practising evaluation and argument.

IB Malayalam Literature and Hindi B

HL / SL

Kumaran Asan's memorial at Thonnakkal makes Malayalam poetry concrete. Where a school arranges it, a home language can count; Hindi B suits learners who need formal written accuracy.

IB English A: Language and Literature

HL / SL

Unseen commentary, a comparative essay and the oral each have their own technique, and students from Malayalam-medium classrooms gain most from weekly timed writing.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

DP Core

Prescribed titles reward arguments tested against more than one view, using specific examples instead of slogans.

IGCSE coverage

IGCSE subjects we tutor

IGCSE choices differ by route. A child at the Korani school follows the board that school lists, which is Cambridge. A private candidate chooses Cambridge or Edexcel according to what an approved exam centre can enter, and then keeps to that board's papers.

IGCSE Mathematics 0580

Core / Extended

Extended papers reward clear method, so well-laid-out working saves marks when arithmetic slips. Core caps the highest grades, a limit worth knowing before any IB Mathematics plan.

IGCSE Additional Mathematics 0606

Grade 10

Calculus, trigonometric identities and vectors arrive a year ahead of school maths, which is exactly the toolkit IB Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level expects.

Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A 4MA1

Foundation / Higher

Edexcel covers much of Cambridge's mathematics in its own order and wording, so a student on this board should practise its papers only.

IGCSE Physics 0625

Core / Extended

Private candidates answer the written alternative to the practical, where naming variables, measurements and sources of error exactly is what earns marks.

IGCSE Chemistry 0620

Core / Extended

Calculations and equations cost more marks than descriptive chemistry, so a daily mixed set works better than a long weekend session.

IGCSE Biology 0610

Core / Extended

Long answers earn marks for structure as well as correct biology, so writing practice deserves as much time as revision.

IGCSE Computer Science 0478

Grade 9-10

Pseudocode and trace tables become automatic only through fresh problems, and real programming time helps the written paper too.

IGCSE Economics 0455

Grade 9-10

Diagrams are seldom the trouble; marks leak in the evaluation answers that demand a balanced judgement.

IGCSE English First Language 0500

Grade 9-10

Directed writing and summary are formats that respond to timed practice, not a gift a student either has or lacks.

How sessions run

Tutoring formats built around Attingal school timetables

Format is fixed, since all teaching runs live over video, but rhythm is a real choice. Some families keep a single quiet weekly slot through the year, some add a written-review plan, and some want a burst of sessions before a school move or an exam. Nobody comes to an Attingal house; visits exist only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR.

A weekly live lesson at home

The same hour each week, one student and one tutor on a shared screen, with handwritten working photographed for marking. It is the simplest way to run tutoring beside school.

  • Board, code and level matched before the first session
  • Working photographed and returned with comments
  • One tutor, so nothing is re-explained
  • Start times placed after the commute

Alongside the school at Korani

For a child already at an IB or Cambridge school: extra practice where the timetable leaves gaps, with the tutor working from the school's own topics and dates.

  • Sessions follow the school's scheme of work
  • Extra help for HL Mathematics, sciences and essays
  • Notes shared so the tutor and teachers do not overlap
  • More sessions in mock and exam weeks

A bridge before a move or an exam

Two to four months of focused sessions before Class 9 or Class 11 at a new school, or a few weeks ahead of an exam series, built on timed papers and quick feedback.

  • A gap check against the new school's syllabus
  • Timed papers marked to the live scheme
  • Feedback within days
  • Booked a few weeks ahead

What IB and IGCSE study actually looks like in Attingal

01

Is Trivandrum International School close enough to Attingal for a daily school run?

  • The school is about 6 km from Attingal town
  • It lists IB PYP and Diploma, plus Cambridge IGCSE and A Level
  • Day and boarding places are both listed on its website
  • Admission and fees are for the school to answer

Often, yes, in principle. The school, at Edackode near Korani, is about 6 km from Attingal town and 23 km from Thiruvananthapuram city, and its own website lists day places alongside weekday, flexi and full-time boarding. Whether a daily run is practical depends on the child's age, the traffic on NH66 and the school's admission decision, so ask the school, not IB Gram, about seats and fees.

What the school teaches matters as much as where it stands. Its website lists IB PYP and the Diploma Programme, Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A Level, and ICSE at Grades 9 and 10. It does not list MYP. An Attingal child can therefore follow an IB route in the primary years and at Diploma level, or a Cambridge route through IGCSE, with Cambridge Lower Secondary in the middle years.

Other schools in town follow other boards. Government and aided schools teach the Kerala State syllabus, and Christ Nagar Public School and Jyothis Public School are listed as CBSE schools serving the town. Families who stay with these schools can still prepare for IGCSE privately, or build towards a Diploma entry at Korani in Class 11 with a bridge year of tutoring.

NH66 is the variable. The highway runs through the centre of Attingal and has long been a bottleneck; widening works, with a bypass planned between Mamom and Ayamkonam, are meant to ease it. A school run that looks easy at midday can look very different at 8.30 am, which is why some families choose weekday boarding, and why lessons at home, with no commute, often fill the weekday evenings.

02

Kerala State Board, CBSE or the school at Korani: which route leads to IB or IGCSE for an Attingal child?

All three can lead there, by different doors. The school at Korani teaches IGCSE and the Diploma directly. A CBSE or Kerala State Board school can be combined with IGCSE subjects studied privately. And any of them can be a stepping stone to a Diploma place in Class 11. The right door depends on the child's age, the family's commute and how strongly they want a continuous IB education.

Staying at a CBSE or State Board school keeps friends, routine and a familiar board for Class 10, and a child can add IGCSE subjects such as Mathematics or Physics privately. The cost is split attention: the school's exams and the IGCSE papers both need preparation in the same year, and the science practical for a private candidate is replaced by a written alternative.

Moving to the school at Korani in Class 9 puts the Cambridge IGCSE years inside a school, with teachers who set and mark the internal work and the Diploma available afterwards. The adjustment is real: different marking, more written English and a longer school day. Tutoring before the move closes the gaps that would otherwise show in the first term.

A third route is to stay in a Kerala or CBSE school until Class 10 and move for the Diploma in Class 11, which asks the most of a student: IGCSE-style skills, Higher Level mathematics or science, and English good enough to write the Extended Essay. A year or two of targeted tutoring beforehand makes that move far less abrupt.

03

What does an IB or IGCSE tutor cost for an Attingal family, and what shapes the fee?

  • Course, level, scarcity, hours and exam timing set the rate
  • No travel cost, because every lesson is online
  • The fee is fixed in writing before the free trial
  • Begin weekly and add sessions before mocks

The figure depends on the course and level, how rare the subject is among good tutors, how many hours a week you book, how recently the tutor taught that exact syllabus and how near the exam is. Distance is not a factor, so a family in Attingal is quoted on the same basis as one in any other city. You receive the rate in writing before the free first lesson.

An Attingal family's real comparison is usually with a tuition centre in town or in Thiruvananthapuram. Local centres, some of which advertise IGCSE and IB classes, run only in-person batches, which cost travel time and a shared teacher. A private online tutor costs a different kind of money: one hour of one person's undivided, syllabus-specific attention, without the commute.

Commuter households add another cost: time. A parent who travels towards Technopark or the city, or a student whose school day already runs late, loses a large part of an evening to a class across town. Online sessions can start ten minutes after arriving home, which for many families is the deciding factor, more than the rate itself.

Scarce subjects and upper levels cost more, because fewer tutors have recently taught them: HL Physics, HL Mathematics AA and IGCSE Additional Mathematics. A very low quote deserves a question about which cohorts the tutor has actually taught. Nothing is locked in; start with one session a week and add more before mocks if the student needs it.

04

Online tuition, Thiruvananthapuram centres, Attingal tutors and self-study: how do they compare?

Each option answers a different need. Centres answer 'where can my child sit in a class near home?', local tutors answer 'who can help with daily schoolwork?', self-study answers 'what can we do for free?', and an online specialist answers 'who can mark this IB or Cambridge paper properly?'. For IB and IGCSE, the last question is the one that decides marks.

Attingal has no shortage of coaching. The town has many private training institutes, coaching centres and tuition centres, aimed largely at state-service exams, school boards and degrees. They are useful for what they are built to do. A student also preparing for KEAM or NEET can use them for physics, chemistry and mathematics, while leaving IB or IGCSE exam technique to a specialist.

Local private tutors, including retired teachers and college lecturers, are a good fit for younger children and for keeping a routine. The limit is curriculum familiarity: outside the Korani school, few in town have marked IB or Cambridge papers. A local tutor for rhythm and an online specialist for exam method is a pairing many families find sensible.

Self-study suits IGCSE subjects with plenty of past papers and free video explanations, yet it stalls at extended writing, internal assessments and practicals, where feedback matters. The cheapest plan that still works is usually to study alone most weeks and book a tutor for the two or three topics that keep losing marks.

How do NH66 traffic, Technopark hours, monsoon and Onam fit around IB and IGCSE dates?

Attingal's week is set by the road. NH66 runs through the centre, and traffic towards Thiruvananthapuram and Technopark thickens in the morning and early evening. Electric and city buses link the town with Technopark, the airport, Medical College and East Fort, so many households plan around a commute. Sessions work best when they begin after everyone is home, usually from about 7 pm on weekdays.

The monsoon and the festivals add the seasonal layer: the southwest rains from June, Onam in August or September with its school break, the Christmas exams in December, and Kerala's March board and annual exams. Against these sit the international series: the IB in May, Cambridge in March, May-June and October-November, and Edexcel in January, May-June and November.

Two windows need care. First, Onam and the first-term exams fall in the same weeks as some of the heaviest rain, so a student at a Kerala school can face school tests, a festival break and unreliable power in a single month. Second, March: Kerala's board exams, school annual exams and Cambridge's India-specific March series can land within weeks of each other, so priorities need agreeing early.

IB results arrive on 5 July, often just as the monsoon breaks, and Cambridge's June-series results follow in August. A student who lost ground in the first term of Class 11 can use the long weeks of July and August to catch up before the autumn papers, rather than waiting for the school's own mock in January.

University and career pathways from Attingal after IB or IGCSE

  • AIU equivalence is often the first document to organise
  • KEAM, NEET, JEE and CUET-UG rules for foreign-board students change
  • Thiruvananthapuram holds IIST, IISER and the medical college
  • Predicted grades matter for overseas applications

Equivalence certificates from the Association of Indian Universities are the usual key to Indian admissions for IB and IGCSE students, with the IGCSE read as Class 10 and the Diploma as Class 12. A family should ask each target university or admission authority what it needs and when, since requirements and timing differ and the paperwork takes weeks.

Thiruvananthapuram, between half an hour and an hour away, concentrates the options: the University of Kerala, the College of Engineering Trivandrum, IIST, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, the Government Medical College, Kerala Agricultural University at Vellayani and the Technopark IT cluster. Entry is through KEAM, JEE, NEET, CUET-UG or the institution's own tests, each with its own rules for students from foreign boards.

Attingal itself has colleges: a Government College, the College of Engineering run by IHRD, a Government Polytechnic, Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology at Nagaroor and the District Institute of Education and Training. A student who finishes IGCSE and moves into a State Board Plus One stream, or completes the Diploma and chooses a local degree, should check equivalence well in advance.

Abroad, the Gulf, the UK, Canada, Australia and Germany are familiar destinations, and predicted grades issued in autumn of the final year carry real weight. Tutors build subject depth and exam technique; they do not write personal statements or assessed coursework, and admissions advice belongs with the school or a qualified counsellor.

07

IB Maths AA and AI and the sciences: what helps an Attingal student most?

First, settle which mathematics course. Analysis and Approaches serves students bound for engineering, architecture or pure science; Applications and Interpretation fits economics, psychology and the life sciences. Students curious about software often assume the second is the natural fit, yet many computer-science degrees prefer Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, so check entry requirements before choosing.

Physics and Chemistry reward routine. A student who solves one mixed set of calculations a day handles the papers more easily than one who crams each term. The town's electric buses, the highway and the river provide everyday illustrations of energy, motion and flow, but the Scientific Investigation must still be the student's own design.

Biology, ESS and Geography can all use the Vamanapuram River basin and the town's reputation for cleanliness. A student might compare river water samples at different points, or study how a municipality manages waste. The tutor's role is to test whether the question is measurable and the method repeatable, never to choose the topic or write the report.

Whatever the subject, the marks lost most often are command words and units. A tutor trains the habit: read the command word, answer that, show the steps, check the units. One mixed paper a week, marked line by line, does more for a student than repeated reading.

08

IGCSE tiers, board choice and subject sets for students from Attingal

Tier choice decides how high a student can score. Cambridge Extended and Edexcel Higher open the full grade range; Core and Foundation cap it. A student who might later take IB Mathematics or a science at Higher Level should plan for Extended or Higher from the start, and revisit the decision only with mock results in hand.

Board follows route. A child at the Korani school follows Cambridge IGCSE because that is what the school lists. A private candidate picks the board that an approved centre can enter them for. Mixing boards across subjects is possible but costly in preparation time, because question styles and mark schemes differ, and so the decision should come before any tutor is booked.

Subject sets are best built around the next step. Mathematics, English and two sciences form a spine; Additional Mathematics suits the IB Maths AA path, Computer Science suits students curious about Technopark careers, and Economics or Business Studies suit those leaning towards commerce. Hindi as a second language can add a dependable grade for students who speak it at home.

Practicals and registration come last but cannot be late. Private candidates in the sciences take the written alternative to the practical, and registration closes months before each series at a centre that must be found in advance. A school route is simpler, since the school enters the student; a private route leaves registration with the family and the syllabus with the tutor.

Where we tutor

Attingal localities and nearby places our online tutors teach

With all lessons online, a locality matters for the hours around it: how long the NH66 crawl lasts, which bus links a household uses, whether a student travels to the Korani school, and what the monsoon does to power.

Attingal town centre

The KSRTC depot, private bus terminal, taluk office and court complex. Office-hour traffic is heaviest here, so lessons usually begin once the evening crush has passed.

Mamom

On the northern boundary, where the Vamanapuram River flows past the municipality and where the planned NH66 bypass leaves the highway.

Poovanpara

On the river's southern boundary. Households here are closest to the route towards Thiruvananthapuram, so a parent's commute often sets the lesson hour.

Alamcode

The junction where SH46 joins the town. A busy crossing whose congestion can delay school buses and push an evening lesson back.

Munumukku

The SH47 junction towards Nedumangad. Families here often combine town errands with school pick-ups, leaving a later slot free.

Avanavanchery

A quieter residential part of town with a government high school and the Indilayappan temple, where festival days change the evening routine.

Kollampuzha

The home of Koyikkal Palace, the maternal house of the Travancore royal family. Useful to History students looking for local sources.

Thonnakkal

The site of the Kumaran Asan memorial, a natural stop for students of Malayalam literature.

Nagaroor

Home to Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology, so older students here are used to later study hours.

Korani and Edakkode

The area around Trivandrum International School, about 6 km from the town centre, where school-run timing shapes family evenings.

Chirayinkeezhu and Kadakkavoor

The railway stations about 7 to 8 km from Attingal, used by families who commute by train to Thiruvananthapuram.

    Questions parents ask

IB and IGCSE tutoring in Attingal: your questions answered

Where can I find IB and IGCSE tutors in Attingal?+

Write to IB Gram with the board, subject, level and exam date, and a shortlist of tutors who have recently taught that exact course comes back. IB and IGCSE tutors in Attingal are matched on syllabus, not on address, since every lesson is online. The first lesson is free, and a different tutor is found if the match is not right.

Does an IB Gram tutor come to the house in Attingal?+

No. Home visits are offered only in Gurugram and parts of Delhi NCR, so no tutor comes to an Attingal house. Lessons are live and online: a laptop or tablet at home, a shared whiteboard, and photographs of handwritten working. Because the tutor can be anywhere in India, the choice is wider than any single town could offer.

How far is an IB school from Attingal?+

Trivandrum International School at Korani is about 6 km from Attingal town, and its own website lists IB PYP and the Diploma alongside Cambridge IGCSE. We found no other IB or Cambridge school in the town centre. Please confirm current programmes, fees and places with the school before building plans around it.

Can tutoring help my child prepare for admission to the school at Korani?+

Yes. A tutor can check your child against the syllabus they will meet, practise the style of questions and build written English, often in the months before Class 9 or Class 11. Admission itself, including seats and fees, is decided by the school, and IB Gram has no say in that process.

My child already attends an IB or IGCSE school. What does a tutor add?+

Extra, focused practice where the timetable leaves gaps, often Higher Level Mathematics, sciences or essay writing. The tutor works from the school's own topics and dates, marks practice papers against the live scheme and shares a note so teachers and tutor are not repeating each other. The school's teaching stays the main line.

Can a CBSE or State Board student in Attingal study IGCSE alongside school?+

Yes, as a private candidate, provided an approved exam centre will accept them. The child studies with an online tutor and sits the written papers at the centre; sciences use a written alternative to the practical. Both the school's exams and IGCSE need planning in the same year, so keep the subject list modest.

Is it possible to do the IB Diploma without an IB school?+

No. The Diploma is awarded only through an authorised IB World School, so there is no private route. A family set on it needs a school place, at Korani or elsewhere. Tutoring in Class 9 and 10 can strengthen mathematics, science and English so that the first term of the Diploma is steadier.

How is the tuition fee decided?+

Five things shape it: programme and level, how scarce the subject is, hours per week, the tutor's recent experience with that exact course, and how close the exam is. The figure is given in writing before the trial lesson, and nothing is added for distance because no lesson is in person.

What happens in the trial lesson?+

The proposed tutor teaches a genuine topic from your child's syllabus on a live call, and your child answers real questions. Afterwards you receive a short outline of the first month. You can carry on, ask for changes or request another tutor, and the trial carries no fee and no obligation.

How do we choose between Cambridge and Edexcel?+

Follow the exam route. A child at the school at Korani sits Cambridge. A private candidate takes whichever board an approved centre can enter them for in the subjects needed. The content is alike, but question wording, timing and tiers are not, so pick one board and practise only on its past papers.

Who writes the Internal Assessment and Extended Essay?+

The student, always. A tutor helps with choosing a question that can be answered, reading the criteria, planning the method and judging a draft honestly, but never drafts, rewrites or finishes the work. That line protects the student's result and follows the rules set by the IB and the IGCSE boards.

Which subjects can your tutors cover?+

Both IB mathematics courses, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Systems and Societies, Computer Science, Economics, Business Management, History, English A, Hindi, Psychology and Theory of Knowledge, plus the IGCSE equivalents. If your subject is unusual, tell us the exact course and level and we will answer frankly whether a fitting tutor exists.

Can younger children, including primary-age pupils, have lessons?+

Yes. PYP-age and MYP-age children are welcome, with shorter sessions and a focus on reading, number sense and explaining an idea in their own words. Parents receive a written note after each lesson so they can follow what was covered and what to practise before the next one.

What if the internet drops during a lesson?+

Keep a phone hotspot and a charged laptop ready, especially in the monsoon. If a session drops, message the tutor straight away and choose a replacement slot together. Agreeing a fallback time at the start, such as a later evening or a weekend morning, makes a lost lesson easy to recover.

Can lessons fit around a parent's Technopark or office commute?+

Yes. Choose an hour when someone is home and the student has eaten and rested, often from about 7 pm on weekdays. The same slot each week is easiest to keep. Tell the tutor about any shift changes early, so the plan can move with the household rather than being cancelled.

Can my child study Malayalam or Hindi for IB credit?+

Sometimes. The IB offers Hindi as both a literature and a language-learning course, and Malayalam literature may be possible where a school is willing to arrange it. Because this depends on the school, confirm before starting; tutors can then prepare reading, writing and oral tasks in the chosen language.

What if the tutor is not the right fit for my child?+

Say so, and we will find someone else. A trial that does not click is free, and a change during the term is possible too. Reviews every few weeks are meant to catch a weak match early, so a child is never asked to persevere with a style that is not helping.
